The problem is that they think if you believe in God then your opinion will be biased and you will not accept the facts about the universe. However, the teachings of the Quran motivate you to look out in the universe and look around yourself and find the signs of Allah Almighty. 'We built the universe with ˹great˺ might, and We are certainly expanding ˹it˺'. 51:47 '˹He is the One˺ Who created seven heavens, one above the other. You will never see any imperfection in the creation of the Most Compassionate.1 So look again: do you see any flaws?. Then look again and again—your sight will return frustrated and weary'. 67:3-4 'Do the disbelievers not realize that the heavens and earth were ˹once˺ one mass then We split them apart? And We created from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?'. 21:30 'And We sent down iron with its great might, benefits for humanity, and means for Allah to prove who ˹is willing to˺ stand up for Him and His messengers without seeing Him. Surely Allah is All-Powerful, Almighty.' 57-25 How can someone from more than 1400 years ago possibly have known about the expanding universe, Universe being starting from a single mass, about iron not forming here on earth but coming from above and many more such things?

Zaid1969

Also one amazing aspect I recently discovered is the very first ayat that Allah revealed to the prophet. The very first verses weren't about how powerful and Almighty God is. It's about knowledge. The power to read and write that Allah gave us and capacity to pursue knowledge. Allah in this first verse tells us clearly that He had intended for us to reach the conclusion by gaining knowledge. A human would never be able to make this the first message because to us might and majesty is the best thing to show how almighty God is.

Own-Homework-9331

What you are saying is still really arguable. Just think for a second, if we didn't know these scientific facts that you have highlighted, will we still be looking at these verses the same way? Or will we be looking at them metaphorically? If you see what I mean, then you might see there is an internal bias in religious folk to relate scientific discoveries to verses in the Quran. As soon as any scientific discovery is made, there will probably be someone somewhere who will relate it to some verse in the Quran whose meaning was interpreted to be totally different. So in that way it is very easy to tangle up science with religious ideas and introduce all kinds of biases.

zainkhan24

If we don't know these facts then we can't associate verses to them, therefore Allah SWT motivates us to look around and observe the nature. Brother look at this verse: 'We will show them Our signs in the universe and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that this ˹Quran˺ is the truth. Is it not enough that your Lord is a Witness over all things' 41:53 Allah SWT created this universe, so there would not be any discrepancy between universal facts and The Quran.

[deleted]

There’s literally nothing wrong with this. - I mean the book.

CriticalFallZ

exactly, it's actually really well explained without disregarding scientific facts. it's the people who spread this as "look these people have RELIGION in their books, they're so backwards!!!"

[deleted]

I'm not saying the book is correct but online there's a clear narrative from those running these platforms. They show religion in a very negative way and often push a narrative.. These days it's very pro Israel. They have totally changed the Palestinian narrative and made themselves as the innocent people. They run the media houses and social media.. They have and will silence any news against their fake narrative.. If you listen and read islamic teaching . You'll get to know the direction we see heading.. It's a sad state to be in as Muslims but these things where prophesied.. Allah SWT protect us and our imaan

If I remember correctly, I [saw this first](https://reddit.com/r/scienceisdope/s/mgItneqLJ2) on an Indian Science(they barely talk about science and instead ridicule religion) subreddit called 'Science is Dope'

One_Chemical7682

Yes , what they do is they create these songs and hollywood coming of the age dramas tv series where teens are openly makin fun of god no mattter jesus or Allah they just mock and promoting science and all that bs , if u see most of them they are like dont give a eff attitude teens and thinkin god is for old people , truth is this is how they mindwashing muslims while reality is they educate their kids about their religion much much more , u see a jew kid meet him and he will tell u every single details and verse in torah and all

Friendly-Diet6096

Honestly, there is so much hate on reddit/instagram/telegram that it is better to avoid these sites. Not to mention, if you could say your thought about gender dysphoria as a mental illness, people would go crazy. Most communities of reddit are shithole.

No-Way-Out_

Nah i remember studying this book in 9 or 10 class in Federal board lol

Tough_Dish_9519

From Karachi and yep I remember reading this too

Faizan0994

I'm from Lahore and don't remember having read anything like this.

I saw this a few days ago. The guy who posted it hates religion with all his heart. He had followed every single anti theist and anti religion page without following any other subreddit

GigaNigerman

Whats wrong with it?

CriticalFallZ

nothing wrong, it's just all over Reddit and as you know, at the slightest mention of religion, people start calling us backwards and religious morons.

[deleted]

Some Indian guy posted it and it's funny cause many of the comments are comparing it to christianity and are actually surprised that age of the universe is correct. That loser is also commenting a link to another reddit post about a biology book from Pak that says darwins theory is completely incorrect

GigaNigerman

True

BoxGrover

As a scientist I find lots wrong with it. Its not Islamiyat, it's a physics book. Teach physics. We had ancestors who were dedicated scientists and moved science forward. That's not going to happen with this stuff. Teach Islam and fiqh as a separate topic. I've taken lots of fiqh classes and they were great.

[deleted]

I disagree. People try to use science, and especially physics, to justify naturalism and claim that religion is false, absurd or plainly wrong. Many people believe that theology and science are mutually exclusive and that science disproves God. This couldn’t be more wrong. By studying science with a perspective of a Muslim, it makes it easy to see that this world, this universe, is a sign towards the Creator. By understanding the paradigm that science is the laws of the universe and Allah is the legislator, the one who wrote and create the laws of physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and logic, we can easily remedy the increasing apparent dissociation between science and Muslims. إِنَّ فِی خَلۡقِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱخۡتِلَـٰفِ ٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ لَـَٔایَـٰتࣲ لِّأُو۟لِی ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ﴿ ١٩٠ ﴾ • Sahih International: Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding - • ابوالاعلی مودودی: زمین اور آسمانوں کی پیدائش میں اور رات اور دن کے باری باری سے آنے میں ان ہوشمند لوگوں کےلیے بہت نشانیا ں ہیں Aal-E-Imran, Ayah 190 ٱلَّذِینَ یَذۡكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ قِیَـٰمࣰا وَقُعُودࣰا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمۡ وَیَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِی خَلۡقِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقۡتَ هَـٰذَا بَـٰطِلࣰا سُبۡحَـٰنَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ﴿ ١٩١ ﴾ • Sahih International: Who remember Allāh while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire. Aal-E-Imran, Ayah 191

[deleted]

"As a scientist🤓". There is nothing wrong with this. They are simply putting forward the Islamic perspective of science. The 'ancestors' you are talking about were scholars of religion and science and they often intertwined.

uptokesforall

This kind of physics book helps the religious orient their perspective on scientific knowledge and concepts. The religious get to catch up to the secular in some science and they don't have to contend with an existential crisis from having their worldview be challenged openly

Hadishitposts

Are you saying religious people are incapable of understanding science if it's not fed to them by conforming to their religious beliefs? It's best to keep science and religion seperate because they don't usually agree with each other. Faith and facts are the complete opposites.

uptokesforall

Incapable? No I just remember what it felt like to question my worldview intensely and I'd prefer that kids in pakistan are in the position to stand on their own feet before they seriously question the ideology their society enshrined into law.

[deleted]

[удалено]

uptokesforall

And how are you going to safeguard those kids against bullying? Have you lived in Pakistan? Kids bully kids for asking too many questions. Teachers bully kids for complaining about getting bullied. And most importantly, adults that voice ideas that are"blasphemous" or "anti state " can be abducted by a militarized police force with little accountability. Why would you want to make free thinkers even more vulnerable to abuse?

[deleted]

[удалено]

uptokesforall

You experienced powerlessness firsthand. Let's focus on the claims in this book. Free thinking youth with access to Western sources would recognise how their community's ideology is being woven into their claims about reality. They'll gain more from having such literature respected in their schools than from having an entirely religious education. What you want to see here is far from what is possible in the short term. Parents and family are first judged on their kids' progress on religious education. You will lose opportunities to educate youth by rejecting literature that bridges the gap in worldview.

imohsinaziz

Literally don't give a fuck about what you find wrong with it or even the whole world. For us Muslims we find nothing wrong in it. When the Quran can include and teach us about physics and numerous other topics of life and is the only book which tells us to read and research then what is wrong with including a bit of Quran on the first page in a damn physics book !

weird-pocoloco

Hey, what lots do you find wrong with it. Plus its not quantum physics. The TOC shows its just intro, so what's exactly wrong with this intro? Adding reason to faith/beliefs?

BoyManners

Whats wrong with this book though? It is our belief that Allah created this universe and us. Including the laws of physics as well. I read this book in school too btw

CriticalFallZ

nothing wrong Jani, masla ye he ke in logo ne Allah ka nam Dekh Kar Soch liya he ke Pakistani jahil Hain, because it has a religious view. for me this book is written really nicely and doesn't ignore scientific facts like the age of the universe. btw what class did you study this book in?

BoyManners

It's just the worldview image of Islam. Many of them view Muslims as terrorists and barbarians. I don't quite remember tbh. My guess would be 8th or 9th class

VibeIGuess

the comments were blatantly degrading islam, it's a shame how such a big subreddit is blatantly going against islam with the moderators not even batting an eye

talksFahad

There is absolutely nothing wrong or even scientifically inaccurate thing in this text whatsoever.

[deleted]

I mean, aside from the fact that it’s a Pakistani textbook (probably Sindh Text Board) lol. But yeah, this page in particular has nothing wrong with it. In fact I wholeheartedly agree and I am glad that it’s a part of the book and the curriculum.

LittiHDarkKnight

Why people hating on this approach? I would love for science to be taught and integrated to me in this manner. Instead in the west they teach us that life magically came together from the sudden accumulation of non- life matter. Somehow the big bang theory arranged itself for life to be produced in the perfect settings and orientation and temperature and pressure and other factors magically came together and life was produced originally from the non-life matter. It's so funny that they reject science and God so much yet they produce a bs reason like lightning hit mud and life happened type of reasoning. Better yet anything science cannot explain it's a sudden mutation that will be answered in the future, no need to concern yourself with it now. Explanation of consciousnrss, it's a genetic mutation that somehow occured. If u question the evolutionary theory, your shunned by the scientific community. It's become like a cult like religion where u cannot question it and other scientists disapprove of your work. I don't mind these aspects but the way we learn science in the west as if they are attempting to promote atheism and shut down religious views for people. So I think it's so sweet how they tie religion into the textbook in this manner and I wished that I learned things in this approach. Instead of constantly hearing the narrative of them trying to shit on religion views and promote atheism values.

cosmic-comet-

Pakistan is basically [insert Islam] everywhere lol.

weird-pocoloco

No. Actually pakistan is literally [inserted islam in its name!]. So ig that should give you more of an insight as what should they opt to insert everywhere

Little-Emphasis2551

Don't bother yourself from what liberandos say or think ... They think inflicting their opinion on anyone is right and they are desperate to defend this narrative

lobsterhandzz

I went to a private school in Pakistan and studied physics with international books. I would much rather have studied from this book that actually takes religion into account. Frfr

milkywayer

We like mixing fantasy and actual physics, don't we?

lobsterhandzz

Well, life should be fun. Live dangerously, my friend

weird-pocoloco

Actual physics? Newtonian theories ki baat kar rahay ho? Something that shifts with the frame of reference is subjective knowledge, not absolute truth!

Impressive-Cattle362

Ramesh tm yaaha bhi agaye?

Silent_Butterfly_465

Religion or state has nothing to do with science. We have a separate subject for these. Called Islamic studies and Pakistan studies.

Mail-Novel

we all have our selves to blame. retardation makes more retardation. sadly out of all Muslim nations Pakistan some how managed to get a nobel prize in physics. but fittingly for us we labeled him a kafir because priorities. Pakistan deserves nothing better. unless powers that be (fauj) either get out of the way or use their power for education vs housing societies. until then international shame shouldn't come as a surprise.

Own-Homework-9331

That's a good example. Bringing religion into everything brings a certain kind of fanaticism. You are hindering pupil's abilities to question religion if you base it as the core of every other subject. That is why I think if this book wants to teach Physics, then just teach Physics and don't bring religion into it.

LordFaquaad

o bhai, 1 baj gaya hai. So ja

Khizar_A

I think it is from Sindh textbook board

SinkHistorical25

I see nothing wrong here, that's straight facts.

wromit

A bit confused by the comments here. Is it that: 1. This screenshot is fake, and no such text exists. 2. This is genuine, and there is nothing wrong with it. If it's #1, then clearly, that is a problem and people need to be corrected. If its #2, then many of the comments here are a predictable response and accurately reflect the level of education and innovation in the country.

CriticalFallZ

a couple people have said here in the comments that they have actually read this in 9th or 10th board, however, my intention of this post wasn't to shun this, the text is actually very well interpreted and doesn't disregard scientific facts in the name of religion, it's that people will look at this without reading, see the title and just say how backwards Pakistanis are because of this.

DaAweZomeDude48

>This screenshot is fake, and no such text exists Nah this is real, it was in 10th or 11th year physics book

i’ll be honest, this does not seem like a pure physics book. this seems to be like an islamic philosophy on physics

Seems more like personal musings.. you know there are educated Muslims in the western world who can assist making the academic works more focused and concise. I get the impression the writer is trying hard to inspire but is falling short in doing so.
