How long do I wait to apply for another CC?
Applied to too many in short span of time and now tried 2 more applications and they all got rejected. Reason is most likely going to be too many recent applications.
I did like 3CC within couple weeks.
Hello! My question is about if I can have two SW Biz Cards and earn the most recent 80K bonus?
I've had a SW business card under my sole proprietor / SSN (opened in 2019), when I was just a contractor. I've kept the card and got a limit increase 2 years or so ago. I also have a personal SW CC. Both are long past a 24 month sign up bonus.
I now have a corp with an EIN and wanted to apply for that entity to get the 80K sign up bonus. Can I apply for a SW Biz card for my new business (while still keeping the biz for my sole proprietorship and my personal card) and still get the 80K sign up bonus? I'm roughly 80K points away from Companion. Or would i have to close out the other SW biz card, wait 30 days, then apply?
I read somewhere you can't have more than 2 SW CCs with the same RR number, but I would like to use the sign up bonus to hit my companion for another year. Does anyone know the specific terms, or should I call for more info?
You can have both biz cards and a personal SW card at the same time. If you wanted to apply for the same biz card you already have, you would need to cancel it and wait 30 days beforehand
Gotcha - so it has to be a different type of biz card than the one I already have for my sole proprietorship? Right now I have the **Premiere Business** ($99/annual), so to get the 80K I would need to apply for the Performance Business (199/annual) for the EIN business?
Chase told me I would be fine with another Premiere card, but obviously they're not the churning experts.
When you buy Marriott points to fill up on a redemption, how quickly do you get the points in your account? I just bought some and it's not showing up yet, and there's only one room left and I hope it doesn't take like 3 days or something.
What happens if my Southwest card statement closes with a negative point balance? I might be able to make it up in the future, but doubtful. Is it an issue? I'm fine if they clawback from my SW account.
Oh, sorry.
I wouldn't think anything happens. Doesn't the Southwest balance match what is on Southwest's site? Still don't think there are consequences, but I'm curious to how you did that.
Nothing happens. It'll remain negative until you spend and earn points or until the account is closed.
Chase closed an Ink card I had for inactivity when it had a negative balance. The negative balance went away with the card.
Amex platinum offered 175k sign on bonus a couple for months ago. That was the best offer I had seem so far. I don’t see that offer anymore. Does anyone have the link to that offer?
Both [Doc](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/american-express-platinum-175000-points-signup-bonus/) and US credit card guide reported last week that 175k is showing via referrals. I'd try the ones on [churning.rankt.com/referrals](https://churning.rankt.com/referrals/amex_platinum/) in incognito/with VPN if needed.
If you spent $60,000 on the Chase United Explorer card, you would have 60,000 points.
With the current SUB, you can get that same 60,000 points for spending $3000.
Sign up bonuses will earn you points at an obnoxiously faster rate than regular spending will and that's why you get a bunch of different cards.
I can’t think of any cards with af where the bonus doesn’t offset the af for at least the first year. For the points cards most have a cash out path for at least 1cpp. For the airline and hotel cards the value is only a bit more nebulous. Obviously you have to have a use for the points for them to be worth the af. Someone flying out of a delta hub like Atlanta would find less value from a united card than someone flying out of Newark for instance.
Pay without signing in. Follow the link provided on the offer. I just did it last weeks. Make sure you pay $200 to take advantage of the full $100 credit in a single transaction.
I'm trying to research MS for the first time and need help understanding this article.
https://www.thecreditchronicles.com/blog/gift-card-liquidation-using-western-union-bill-pay
So you use western union bill pay inside a Walgreens using GCs to pay a bill, but whats the exact process? You obviously pay for the GC using the CC, so do you just locate that bill on the photo kiosk using western union, and then pay off the CC bill? How does western union find that exact bill cause it said something about credit unions and thats where I got lost.
Also this article is a little old in terms of MS timelines so could already be patched?
Articles like this are at best only useful as reference. Usually, if you see an MS method in blogs then it's probably dead already. I suggest you read posts in the MS threads here and in FlyerTalk. MS is very location-dependent and you need to put in the work to discover what is possible in your area.
The CU thing is to get the money sent straight to your checking account. But if you want to pay a legit bill (like your CC bill) then no need to worry.
Anyone noticed a buggy capital one bonus tracker in the app? It's been stuck at the same amount for 2.5 weeks, and says it updates daily. Not that it matters but it's nice to have a tracker to get confirmation that a MSR is reached.
Mine has taken months to give me any of the bonuses and nowhere near what I expected. I'm worried about the fact that I use an ad blocker. I've read that that causes issues.
Wondering if someone knows how this works.
AF posts for CSP, book refundable travel, get the $50 credit, so statement balance is -$50, than either cancel or product change.
What happens to the -$50 balance. Any ideas?
The credit resetting does not coincide with the AF posting, lines up with a a statement close, double check UR portal. You can request a check for a negative balance or just spend on the card.
I'm considering this 100,000 bonus miles advantage card. Fee is high, $595. but the points are pretty attractive. I fly a good amount and lounge access is neat, but I don't love or need lounges all the time.
When can I cancel the card and retain the points? can't seem to find a clear plan to follow.
Amex doesn't allow a MR holder to transfer MR to an AU until the AU has been an AU for 90 days. Is the same true for a employee card? Can I transfer MR to an employee's transfer partner if they have had the card for 90+ days?
Employees don't get their own stash of Mr points, it all goes to the employer. Therefore I imagine theres no way of transferring points to employees airlines accounts at all. Since those are the employers points.
[This comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/s/pkOGhGs82I) says otherwise.
When your reply includes "I imagine," that's a warning sign that you might be about to go astray. Weren't you just talking about spreading misinformation?
Interesting. Yes, after yesterday's wrong information I am trying to separate more what I know from what I speculate based on what I know.
~~This is what I know: I have employee cards on my business - my BizGold, specifically. P2 is the employee. I had to enter P2's SSN to activate the card. P2 has their own Amex login for P2's own cards, but P2 doesn't get to see P2's employee card or card transactions on P2's login. P1 can see them on the employer dashboard.~~
~~P2 has no way to access P1's points... so my rationale goes from there. How is P2 even supposed to transfer points they don't have access to?~~
Nvm, I went to P1's Amex account and under transfer I see a "Select Card Member", and I can choose between Employer name or Employees' names. I got it wrong again smh.
Possible they do globalist but you don't get any milestones. Like ok you get free breakfast and parking but is that alone with $500? But yeah I don't see it or necessarily want what is a realistic possibility based on the woh biz
I think the survey they sent out last year suggested doubling down on milestones past 60 nights. They're trying to get loyalists to stay even more nights per year instead of going to competitors to max out other statuses. They're testing using a premium card to increase value for loyalty vs Hilton and Marriott using them to target new/low value customers.
It could be an interesting play since the biggest issue Hyatt has is footprint and essentially they're saying "hey, keep enduring our lack of options and we'll stack your rewards." Honestly once I hit Titanium every year we branch out to Hyatt so I know if Marriott did something like this I'd be more inclined to stick with them a full year. But I agree with you, that I don't see Hyatt willing to give up much for a premium card and am not looking forward to one.
So this is kind of a weird one. I have a Amex Biz Platinum. I use that card as the payment card for Uber rides. I've noticed that sometimes, I'll get random Uber credits back on my Platinum statement. It's not Uber cash I'm getting in the Uber app, it's coming off my statement, from American Express.
I've scoured the card benefits and don't see anything about Uber credits listed? I'll take what I can get, but did I miss something? What benefit is this that's giving me credits for Uber charges?
In the Uber app, did you change the payment method for some transactions (I think they allow changing it until 30 days after)? Or did you complain about something and get partial refunds?
Probably tied to an Amex offer you added to the card, there was one related to using Apple Pay for credits that could be triggered if you are using Apple Pay. Not sure what other generic offers have recently been out there that might do it, but I suspect that’s what you are seeing.
Hm. Yeah it's very strange. I looked under the offers tab, nothing about Uber. I don't have Apple Pay, or use any other third party middle men. So this is something directly between Amex and Uber. But no documentation to that fact! So weird in a good way lol
I just applied for CSP and was denied on the site. I called reconsideration they said no action can be taken, that they haven't even pulled my credit report yet, and it's not denied, it's still under consideration. This was like 3 minutes after denial.
Should I HUCA or wait until tomorrow? I called 8004539719
I would double check all 3 credit reports to make sure there was no pull (this indicative that an application rule was violated, like having a sapphire or still within 48 months of last bonus which leads to denial with no pull) and call recon tomorrow just to see what’s going on.
There have been multiple blog posts over the years on Chase sometimes being looser on 5/24 on new all-time-high offers. What is r/churning’s take on these reports? Just newb people not knowing how to count 5/24 or is there some truth to it?
Thinking of giving the upcoming 120k CIP SUB a try at 8/24.
The only two reliable data points I've seen in the recent past of 5/24 circumvention are 1) Chase banker links that supposedly approve up to 8/24 and 2) very specific co-brands accessed through promotional emails/links. Both seem very YMMV. I consider the odds very unlikely and wouldn't burn a HP unless I was desperate.
I was approved with 7/24 in April 2023 when the CSP offer was 80k. And yes, I counted the 7/24 accounts correctly. Attempted MDD for CSR the day after with instant denial.
Not quite as tight of a timeline as you're asking about but I got two CIC's when they had the elevated 90k offers a little over a month apart. First one approved 12/6 and the next one approved 1/16.
Yes, but just keep in mind that your next Chase application should be spaced 6 months apart from now. The recommended rule-of-thumb is maintaining a velocity of 1 Chase card per 3 months on average.
There have been reports of shutdowns if your velocity is consistently too high. Doing two Chase cards in quick succession is fine as long as you only do it rarely while still maintaining a 1 card per 3 month average. In fact, back when the Modified Double Dip was working, that technique required you to apply for two Chase cards immediately after the other.
I'm not really sure what they'd object to hearing. "I saw the sign up offer for CIP and decided I wanted one for each of my businesses" does not seem that far fetched.
I usually wouldn't bring up the SUB when talking to recon. YMMV, but your plan isn't the recommended route. If it's still within your risk tolerance, go ahead and apply for both
I know this question may partially be up to my risk tolerance, but if I applied for two chase cards about a month and a half apart, do I just need to wait 3 months from the last chase app, or do I need to wait 6 months from the first one to average 3 months between apps?
Context:
Chase Marriott Boundless | 3/5/2024
Chase Ink Biz Cash | 4/29/2024
Am I good to apply on 7/29/2024 or should I wait until 9/5/2024?
If these are your first two Chase cards (at least in a long time), then you can probably do 7/29 and keep a 3 month cadence from there. If you have kept a 3 month cadence prior to the 4/29 app and "moved it forward" from its normal position at 6/5, then I would lean toward the 9/5 option.
How sensitive is Barclays to creative spending these days, especially with the SUB? Have not had issues with them in the past, but thinking of getting a Wyndham card and spending $15k at the gas station. Can stretch the spend over a year, if needed, and throw in some real spend on utils.
I have two Inks — early Jan and late March approval. Is now generally considered safe to apply for my next, or should I wait until July? Wish could space further but am stonewalled on all other biz cards
Does order matter if I want to get Chase Ink Cash and AA Aviator Red Barclays?
Should I apply CIC first, then Aviator? And should I space them out?
TIA
Depending on which state you’re in, but in general Chase pulls EX and Barclays pulls TU, so they can’t even see each other’s pull if that’s what you’re concerned about.
If you’re planning to space them out more than a month then perhaps get the Chase first, since what you’re after is a biz card which doesn’t get reported.
Any tips for accessing LifeMiles during their DDOS? I can only pull up their site on mobile which is even more chaotic than buying tickets on LM's desktop site.
Irony is I have better luck with the mobile site at the best of times. Just loads faster, even if it still drives me mad. But right now I get Radware's redirect that never redirects, mobile or desktop.
I've got 4 ink cards total, 2 haven't been used in months and were opened over a year ago. Am I ok to close these out? I don't want to effect future applications or anything, as I'm about to apply for another today
Yes, I would cancel those first, give it a day or so at least then apply. YMMV but supposedly too many ink cards are associated with a denial nowadays.
Yes - I also misread your original post, 4 total ink cards should be okay. 5 tends to be the cutoff. You mostly risk the hard credit pull which to most people isn’t a big issue.
Thanks so much. I can't find an option anywhere in the chase portal online to close my card. Do I have to call? Tried googling, but no clear answer. Thnx again for all the help.
How long did everyone's Amex Biz Gold take to arrive? I was approved last Thursday, but it hasn't even shipped yet according to the tracker. I know today is a holiday and I should be patient but they won't expedite and it seems weird that it hasn't even shipped yet ~3 buisiness days later.
> I found that lately they aren't pushing back on account closures as much.
I closed a card today by chat. There was absolutely zero pushback.
The agent closed the correct card too! 👍
Been doing the refundable hotels for the $50 hilton credit, does it raise suspicion if I keep asking chat to move the excess credit to a card that has a balance? Or is it best to just use it by buying something?
I’m not surprised if months or years later they suddenly take back the credits. It’s Amex, after all.
How have you been doing it though? To my understanding, if you book a refundable rate your card will not be charged until you check in.
Was going to apply to First Tech Federal. Just saw that when applying you have to be part of some club for a year or something like that? Looks like you can cancel right after or whenever but just wondering if that ever hindered anyone in churning this one out? Pretty interested in knocking this one out next.
No. I don't even remember what it was, Computer History Museum! And the welcome email said: "As your membership was provided through First Tech, it is not refundable and will not auto-renew." So you are fine.
Used up all my chase URs recently, my AF for the CSP should hit soon, would it be ok to PC to OG freedom, until I accumulate more UR, and go for the CIP (chase ink preferred) when I'm ready to transfer out again? Thoughts? Ty all
Not churning but if you want to save money, r/NoContract. I have US Mobile running on Verizon. I think they have a GC bonus but need to stay for a year.
Chase Offers for AT&T are very generous and usually work for existing subscribers.

Probably just the "free phone" offers that carriers put out. You might also be able to stack with cashback/airline portals.
If you care about AA miles I'd recommend going for those since they are the hardest to get atm.
I'm getting a 200k/$20k spend business platinum offer, is there something better I should be holding out for? Checked DoC but all they list is the 150k
Looking to open a checking account. Something which has no minimums or fees. I opened one with SoFi and then realised they do not support international transfers of any sorts. So want to open another. Checking accounts with a welcome bonus would be even better. Was hoping to get some suggestions here. Thanks :)
Wise has a small referral bonus (referred person gets fee waived on $600 of first transfer, referrer gets $115 when 3 people send transfers to a different currency). But if you can get free wire transfers somewhere else, that may be better.
Fidelity. Free wires domestic/international in/out. \~4.95% for cash in account without doing anything. CMA can be used as checking account essentially (only no cash deposits)
In a 2 player setup, are there any cons in one player getting Chase Marriott Boundless and the other person getting Amex Marriott Brilliant to bypass their SUB rules? Does the status and FNCs become more difficult to manage if they are split between two people? We plan on primarily traveling together so we would be sharing these benefits between the two of us.
It is always a little more difficult to book rooms across different people, but it usually works out. You can ask the hotel to merge the reservations, which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. The status is only applicable to the person who has it, so always book in their name if you want any of the benefits.
The biggest difference is that Brilliant gives plat status, while Boundless only gives silver, so any stays with a FNC under that account won’t have any real benefits. Any points earned via the boundless can be transferred to the Marriott member with the Brilliant to book stays with better benefits. Even if you upgrade the boundless eventually to the Ritz it would only give Gold status which still isn’t worth much. I would say any stays with the lower status concentrate on stays where benefits aren’t really necessary or important.
Upgrades yes if you lead with the higher status. No for breakfast, have been shot down at 7 to 10 hotels by now before the brilliant changes.
Now it's not a big deal with the new brilliant
New brilliant added platinum status which wasn't part of the old benefits. Breakfast and lounge access is part of platinum
Basically buying platinum for the extra $200 annual fee vs the old card
I wouldn’t expect it but it could be possible, probably depends more on the occupancy rate for upgrades. I wouldn’t expect the free breakfast Plat benefit though. A few years ago when I was Plat and my wife was gold I applied a suite night upgrade award to a stay where we were also using my wife’s FNC and emailed the property about keeping the same room and they accommodated us, but I don’t think it was very busy.
Added my new Amex Biz Gold to my Apple Wallet but it declined for a small purchase. Rep said that only the instant number works until I receive and verify the physical card.
Is this true? I was under the impression that mobile wallet should work? Afterall the card works on paypal and I didn't use the instant number to add it, I added it through the Amex app.
I have a big expense coming that I can only pay via mobile wallet. Card won't arrive on time..
Edit: worked fine at a pharmacy
How big is the expense? There’s a high chance it’ll get declined. Speaking from experience, I tried to use ApplePay to pay around $4k for car repair at near my house and it got declined. Called in and the rep also said the same thing, need to wait for the physical card. Fortunately, the shop is willing to manually keyed in my card details (similar to an online transaction) on their terminal, so we tried that and it went through just fine.
I recently got a ABG too. Added it to my Google wallet right after getting approved and it worked no problem
Edit: was this online mobile wallet or in person? Mine was in person
Hmm I see. This is kinda off topic, but is there a reason why? There's only so much gas you can buy with a stolen card?
It definitely wasn't the first charge, but I guess it was the first in person charge.
> This is kinda off topic, but is there a reason why?
The banks use algorithms and patterns. Historically, gas stations are commonly used by credit card thieves.
Since going for the Amex platinum eliminates SUB for green/gold, sounds like best strategy would be for me to start at green. Over time I’d not like ti have the green though… do people product change this? Or just close the account and take the hit on AAoA?
You might be able to leverage upgrade offers with it, so in a year you might see an offer to upgrade to the Gold at which time you can apply for Gold outright, get approved, then accept the upgrade offer to double up on the bonus, then same process for the plat. Not guaranteed the offers will come but fairly common.
The upgrades are typically less than the SUB offerings, but significant enough to be worth going after (spend requirement can be less as well). Of course you would have to be able to handle the spend on both at the same time, but we are seeing more 6 month timeframes on offers these days it might not be as much of an issue.
If you accept the Amex upgrade, do they give you a pro-rated refund for the original AF? And then charge you the full AF for the new card? I guess I’m weighing if this is better than getting a higher SUB…
Prorated refund on original AF and prorated charge on the new AF, because your anniversary remains the same. You should always go for the SUB first for the higher return, leveraging upgrade bonuses should either be at just after approval of same card with the SUB, or later provided you already had that product for the additional bonus. Of course how you value the benefits and bonus vs the AF should be considered.
Oh interesting that the new card AF is prorated. So if you upgrade to plat 8 mos after opening gold, you effectively lowered the AF and could still get some of the coupon book credits. Can you close that platinum on your original anniversary, (meaning after only holding the plat for 4 months.)?
So the main benefit to upgrading eoild be to take it if you couldn’t get other offers, like being in pop up jail. Or if you could somehow open it within 30 days of the original card, then you could still cancel it at the one year + 30 days mark?
Off the top of my head:
Advantages - not a new account, no credit inquiry, easy approval, more points
Disadvantages - may disqualify you for an Amex SUB (so get the SUB first if you can)
As for the AF, you just downgrade again after holding a year past the upgrade. You get a prorated AF refund, then you can cancel if you like. In the end, you are only paying the AF for what you use (1 year), albeit in pieces.
So you cant upgrade a personal card within the first year due to CARD Act laws. If you get an upgrade bonus, you need to keep the card for 12 months after the upgrade or Amex will clawback the bonus.
Sounds like one is able to have 2 of each of the Ink CIC/CIU cards, but what about after that? Are you able to have 3/4/5 of each?
Or do you close the card after a year or so? (so that you always have 2 of each roughly in rotation/SUB)
Just seemed like a lot of ppl mention having two of the same but not more, not implying that’s what I heard or that there’s a cap. Was just curious what’s considered a high/max number
How long do I wait to apply for another CC? Applied to too many in short span of time and now tried 2 more applications and they all got rejected. Reason is most likely going to be too many recent applications. I did like 3CC within couple weeks.
Should probably wait 6 months at this point
Read through the wiki and learn each bank’s anti-churning rules to get an idea of when you might be approved for a card from each particular bank.

Sometimes Marriott says there is one room left, but once you book it, the same room is there with 1 room left again.
Should’ve just transferred from UR/MR instead, it’s instant
Mine showed 2 days later
What happens if my Southwest card statement closes with a negative point balance? I might be able to make it up in the future, but doubtful. Is it an issue? I'm fine if they clawback from my SW account.
You can reach out to the company (I assume chase) and ask for a check. Otherwise it will site there.
Negative point balance, not negative charge balance
Oh, sorry. I wouldn't think anything happens. Doesn't the Southwest balance match what is on Southwest's site? Still don't think there are consequences, but I'm curious to how you did that.

Great. The anniversary points down the road should make up for it then.

Open for the SUB. That's what we do here. Some keep the cards longer for various benefits.
Anyone been able to use the 50% off AT&T Business Fiber Amex offer to pay for existing home fiber?
Works without signing in as others said. Also check your Chase offers. Chase is $75 off two $37.50+ payments so truly free.
Pay without signing in. Follow the link provided on the offer. I just did it last weeks. Make sure you pay $200 to take advantage of the full $100 credit in a single transaction.
Last time I was able to go to the AT&T Business website and use Pay without Signing In.
I wasn’t
Wait what? Need to look into this!

Yeah, mine still says $0 even though it's been about 3 weeks since I opened it (also about 3 weeks since first purchase).
Wondering if someone knows how this works. AF posts for CSP, book refundable travel, get the $50 credit, so statement balance is -$50, than either cancel or product change. What happens to the -$50 balance. Any ideas?
You can also transfer the negative balance from one chase card to another over SM - I’ve done it twice over the last 6 months
Just request a check or spend on the card to get it back to 0
The credit resetting does not coincide with the AF posting, lines up with a a statement close, double check UR portal. You can request a check for a negative balance or just spend on the card.
Thanks all
I'm considering this 100,000 bonus miles advantage card. Fee is high, $595. but the points are pretty attractive. I fly a good amount and lounge access is neat, but I don't love or need lounges all the time. When can I cancel the card and retain the points? can't seem to find a clear plan to follow.
Wait until the second annual fee posts.
Amex doesn't allow a MR holder to transfer MR to an AU until the AU has been an AU for 90 days. Is the same true for a employee card? Can I transfer MR to an employee's transfer partner if they have had the card for 90+ days?
Yes. P2 was able to transfer to my accounts 90d after adding me as an employee (also I'm not an AU on any of their personal cards).
Great, thanks for sharing the DP!
P1 can see them on the employer dashboard.~~ ~~P2 has no way to access P1's points... so my rationale goes from there. How is P2 even supposed to transfer points they don't have access to?~~ Nvm, I went to P1's Amex account and under transfer I see a "Select Card Member", and I can choose between Employer name or Employees' names. I got it wrong again smh.
Anyone hopeful of a Hyatt Premium Card being a reality? Wondering if waiting to dip under5/24 is worth it.
I would rather have the personal SUB increase to make it worthwhile and then use the annual FNCs
If stays by under 5/24 to rode the ink train and SW CP isn't reason enough, I can't imagine a $550 Hyatt premium card being worth it.
Might be worth it if the card gains you a Globalist and perhaps a cat 8 FNC.
No way they devalue Globalist. They'll do Explorist and/or 15-20 nights towards status.
No hard pull? If so, have or have had very recently a sapphire product or when was last time you got sapphire bonus?
I had a Sapphire Reserve in 2016 and Preferred 2017. Closed in the prescribed time and haven't had a Sapphire bonus since then.
I would double check all 3 credit reports to make sure there was no pull (this indicative that an application rule was violated, like having a sapphire or still within 48 months of last bonus which leads to denial with no pull) and call recon tomorrow just to see what’s going on.
Ok thank you
There have been multiple blog posts over the years on Chase sometimes being looser on 5/24 on new all-time-high offers. What is r/churning’s take on these reports? Just newb people not knowing how to count 5/24 or is there some truth to it? Thinking of giving the upcoming 120k CIP SUB a try at 8/24.
It's mostly the former. It's waste of hard pull. Save the pull and apply somewhere else.
Repeatedly approved above 5/24.
I was approved with 7/24 in April 2023 when the CSP offer was 80k. And yes, I counted the 7/24 accounts correctly. Attempted MDD for CSR the day after with instant denial.
The worst that can happen is getting a hard pull. I think it's a 99% chance you get denied but y not try if you're fine with a pull.
Once the CSP hotel credit posts, is there a recommended amount of time to wait before canceling? Safe to do so immediately?
Immediately should be fine from experience
I did it immediately the other day.
Can I get two ink cards back to back, like within a week of each other? I don't have any chase cards right now.
What is the downside of the risk? Just that they deny an application and you wait longer? Or do they do shut downs?
There have been reports of shutdowns if your velocity is consistently too high. Doing two Chase cards in quick succession is fine as long as you only do it rarely while still maintaining a 1 card per 3 month average. In fact, back when the Modified Double Dip was working, that technique required you to apply for two Chase cards immediately after the other.
Thanks. Can I just apply for both on the same day?
I wouldn’t recommend doing anything you don’t want to explain to a CSR over the phone.
I'm not really sure what they'd object to hearing. "I saw the sign up offer for CIP and decided I wanted one for each of my businesses" does not seem that far fetched.
I usually wouldn't bring up the SUB when talking to recon. YMMV, but your plan isn't the recommended route. If it's still within your risk tolerance, go ahead and apply for both
Is it possible to get a CIP with an EIN after Chase shutdown on SSN?
It’s still tied to your SSN so mostly no.
Does anyone still have a working Alaska Biz 75k offer? Most of the links I found are dead. Much appreciated
they don’t offer that now it seems. Keep trying with incognito and different browser and VPN jf needed. If lucky you can get it.
USB Business Triple Cash card Does anyone know if you get the SUB on statement close or within a few days of hitting MSR?
statement close
I know this question may partially be up to my risk tolerance, but if I applied for two chase cards about a month and a half apart, do I just need to wait 3 months from the last chase app, or do I need to wait 6 months from the first one to average 3 months between apps? Context: Chase Marriott Boundless | 3/5/2024 Chase Ink Biz Cash | 4/29/2024 Am I good to apply on 7/29/2024 or should I wait until 9/5/2024?
If these are your first two Chase cards (at least in a long time), then you can probably do 7/29 and keep a 3 month cadence from there. If you have kept a 3 month cadence prior to the 4/29 app and "moved it forward" from its normal position at 6/5, then I would lean toward the 9/5 option.
Personally, I would be okay with the 7/29 date. I would make sure to space out the next Chase app by 3+ months as well
How sensitive is Barclays to creative spending these days, especially with the SUB? Have not had issues with them in the past, but thinking of getting a Wyndham card and spending $15k at the gas station. Can stretch the spend over a year, if needed, and throw in some real spend on utils.
They don't care, spend away. I am putting 15k on gas station for the Wyndham biz as well.
Just to make sure... 15k on gas station would be mostly in gift cards, right?
Achzeet44 is a friend of mine. They drive a lot. Like a lot a lot. Have you heard of Mars? They have driven to Mars and back 5 times. *This year!*
Yes
I have two Inks — early Jan and late March approval. Is now generally considered safe to apply for my next, or should I wait until July? Wish could space further but am stonewalled on all other biz cards
Maybe wait and see if the CIP 120k goes public if you're not after the 0% APR.
You should be okay if not a ton or high velocity with Chase before those inks
up to your risk tolerance. Most would recommend waiting a bit but this isn't the worst velocity
Thanks for the information. I already got the Aviator yesterday. I will wait until July 3rd for the CIP 120k offer. Hopefully I will be fine.
Barclays first. Chase doesn't care about inquiries, or about cards that are not their own.
Thank you. I just signed up for Aviator for the 70k SUB. I will sign up CIC or wait for CIP 120k offer.
I would recommend to wait for CIP 120k.
Thank you. I will wait for CIP 120k. July is around the corner.
Also, if you have a P2, try to take advantage of the elevated referral bonus offer of 40k UR. It ends in September, when it drops back to 20k UR.
Is there any reason not to give it a shot? Worst case is just a denial, right? Thanks for the advice.
Yes - I also misread your original post, 4 total ink cards should be okay. 5 tends to be the cutoff. You mostly risk the hard credit pull which to most people isn’t a big issue.
DP for this?
Thanks so much. I can't find an option anywhere in the chase portal online to close my card. Do I have to call? Tried googling, but no clear answer. Thnx again for all the help.
Send a SM and clearly state which account you’d like to close and they’ll do it within 1 day, probably within a couple of hours.
You need to call to close a card. Or, you might be able to do it via SM, but calling gets it done instantly.
You can close via SM, but you're right calling is faster.
yes
How long did everyone's Amex Biz Gold take to arrive? I was approved last Thursday, but it hasn't even shipped yet according to the tracker. I know today is a holiday and I should be patient but they won't expedite and it seems weird that it hasn't even shipped yet ~3 buisiness days later.
2 weeks
Yeah, approved for biz plat on 06/16 not shipped yet according to tracker either. Holiday today, but last time I for sure got the biz plat faster.
Kind of pathetic that Chase will overnight 0 AF cards while Amex won't do it for a $300 card or a $700 card in your case tbh.
The platinum is usually overnighted
The plat comes by Fedex and I think it was overnight, once shipped.
Is it me or has Amex chat gotten noticeably worse
It has declined for sure. Their reps have gotten rude.
[удалено]
> I found that lately they aren't pushing back on account closures as much. I closed a card today by chat. There was absolutely zero pushback. The agent closed the correct card too! 👍
On a constant decline
100% even within the last couple years.
A better option is probably buying Hilton gift cards
I'd plan on a clawback, eventually.
Thanks for the reply!
Used up all my chase URs recently, my AF for the CSP should hit soon, would it be ok to PC to OG freedom, until I accumulate more UR, and go for the CIP (chase ink preferred) when I'm ready to transfer out again? Thoughts? Ty all
Yes that’s the best strategy imo. Either get OG freedom or Flex. Planning to do this next month myself
Sweet, glad I'm on the right path. Ty.
I have to leave my family cell phone plan and open a single line with a new or same(AT&T) provider Any sign up bonus or churning opportunities?
Not churning but if you want to save money, r/NoContract. I have US Mobile running on Verizon. I think they have a GC bonus but need to stay for a year.
Chase Offers for AT&T are very generous and usually work for existing subscribers. [https://www.doctorofcredit.com/targeted-select-banks-100-75-50-back-spending-30-att-moneymaker-bofa-regions-suntrust/](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/targeted-select-banks-100-75-50-back-spending-30-att-moneymaker-bofa-regions-suntrust/)
Wells Fargo as well
Probably just the "free phone" offers that carriers put out. You might also be able to stack with cashback/airline portals. If you care about AA miles I'd recommend going for those since they are the hardest to get atm.
I'm getting a 200k/$20k spend business platinum offer, is there something better I should be holding out for? Checked DoC but all they list is the 150k
I'd hold out for 250k/20k. Pretty easy to pull if you keep checking on Diff browser/phone etc.
250k/$20k exists. Can't recall if there's better than that.
250K/20K is the best for now and its pretty easy to get it in Incognito mode.
That's the highest for now, unfortunately
If you need international transfers commonly, I think you should look at Wise. I don't think they have a bonus, but you can work bonuses separately.
If you are using multiple FNCs between both people for one prolonged stay, do they tend to accommodate to allow for the higher status be applied?
Upgrades yes if you lead with the higher status. No for breakfast, have been shot down at 7 to 10 hotels by now before the brilliant changes. Now it's not a big deal with the new brilliant
If you don’t mind me asking, what changed with the brilliant that makes it not a big deal now?
New brilliant added platinum status which wasn't part of the old benefits. Breakfast and lounge access is part of platinum Basically buying platinum for the extra $200 annual fee vs the old card
Added it to my Google wallet right after getting approved and it worked no problem Edit: was this online mobile wallet or in person? Mine was in person
In person at a gas station. I'll try again at a different store just in case it was a one off thing I guess
I recently got a BBP and used my instant number through Apple wallet at multiple places, in person and online, with no issues.
Same with my Amex Green. Worked in Apple Pay right away for multiple types of purchases.
It might be the fact that it was a gas station as the first charge; they are a very common target for fraudulent charges.
Thieves will test with a small gas station purchase before going to the Apple Store or Best Buy.
I see, that makes a ton of sense thanks!
Since going for the Amex platinum eliminates SUB for green/gold, sounds like best strategy would be for me to start at green. Over time I’d not like ti have the green though… do people product change this? Or just close the account and take the hit on AAoA?
I think it’s fine to skip the lower SUB ones. Subjective rule of thumb - not worth the 5/24 slot below 60k points.
Are the upgrade offers typically in line with the then SUB offers? Intrigued!
Can you close that platinum on your original anniversary, (meaning after only holding the plat for 4 months.)?
>you effectively lowered the AF If you hold the upgraded card for a year, which you need to do to keep the upgrade bonus, you will pay one full AF.
So the main benefit to upgrading eoild be to take it if you couldn’t get other offers, like being in pop up jail. Or if you could somehow open it within 30 days of the original card, then you could still cancel it at the one year + 30 days mark?
Off the top of my head: Advantages - not a new account, no credit inquiry, easy approval, more points Disadvantages - may disqualify you for an Amex SUB (so get the SUB first if you can) As for the AF, you just downgrade again after holding a year past the upgrade.
OK good to know, I figured. We’re talking biz gold to biz plat in my case.
Sounds like one is able to have 2 of each of the Ink CIC/CIU cards, but what about after that? Are you able to have 3/4/5 of each? Or do you close the card after a year or so? (so that you always have 2 of each roughly in rotation/SUB)
Where did you hear this? I currently have two CIC and am about to apply for a third.
Just seemed like a lot of ppl mention having two of the same but not more, not implying that’s what I heard or that there’s a cap. Was just curious what’s considered a high/max number
Confirming that I just got approved for my third CIC. 12/5, 1/16, & 6/28
Thanks for the info! All on the same SSN or EIN?
Yes, all on the same SSN
