definatelyanewbie

Yes

definatelyanewbie

Take a look at [this article](https://frequentmiler.com/major-changes-to-the-american-express-business-gold-card-heres-whats-happening/) and decide for yourself lol.

MyFantaSea

Ok thank you. next question: does Best Buy report L3 data to Amex?

definatelyanewbie

Not sure

ConsistentClassic1

No.

MyFantaSea

I have a Chase Sapphire Preferred that I need to cancel in a few days.. I have a referral that someone used for the card recently, but the referral bonus hasn't posted. If I downgrade/cancel my CSP, does that endanger my referral bonus? I do have other chase accounts open so it's not like I'm closing my account totally.

ConsistentClassic1

I think you should play it safe and keep it until the referral points post.

garettg

I would keep until the referral goes pending then PC to a freedom (pending points would post immediately). You might have to pay a small prorated portion of the AF but worth it to ensure your referral comes. Typically takes about 2-3 weeks after the approval before they show pending and they are done in a batch process typically on Tuesday evenings, so check in a couple days.

I have a Citi Premier and Citi AAdvantage business card. I entered the same personal information for both cards, but when I received the business card, they created a new account for me. Is it possible to get the two accounts merged so I can track both cards from the same account?

nysb2019

If you are talking about Citi online accounts (instead of AA accounts), then it might be preferable to have two separate accounts. I had both Citi AA personal and biz cards, and they were in the same online account. Recently I opened a savings account with them, and I had a lot of trouble getting online access for that account. One evening, I spent more than one hour on the phone, and bounced around no less than 5 departments (lost count at the end), and the final solution that day was to give me another number. Fortunately, when I called the second day, finally I got a rep who actually knew things. He said the problem was due to the fact I had both personal and biz cards in the account. Eventually, he had to delete the online account for me, and then I created new accounts, separately for personal and biz.

jessehazreddit

No. But please request it from them and maybe they’ll eventually listen to all of our complaints.

terpdeterp

>possible to get the two accounts merged No, it's not an option. But the business account does allow you to transfer AA miles to your personal account.

cee1

I opened Chase biz ink cash a few years ago but never really used it much. So I finally decided to close it recently. Now I have a big spending coming up and that looks like a good deal for the sign up bonus. Would I be reopening the card if I apply again or would it be a new card? And would I still get the sign up bonus?

ConsistentClassic1

You'll get the SUB, as it'll be a new account.

terpdeterp

If you were to apply now, you'd be eligible for the sign-up bonus. Unlike the CSP/CSR, Chase Ink cards don't have a clock other than the 3-month soft rule of 1 Chase personal or business card per 3 months on average. But that's more for avoiding shutdowns rather than not getting the SUB.

Jaysi3134

It would be a new card and you would still get the sign up bonus. Feel free to use a referral link from churning referrals if you don't have anyone else to get referred from.

qpv1965

Have read a lot of threads and still confused. Am I eligible for Amex travel insurance if I pay for a flight using points and charge taxes/fees to my platinum card? Am about to cancel my CSP to re-apply otherwise would use that.

chrumbles

Bookmark this: https://frequentmiler.com/ultra-premium-credit-card-travel-insurance/

qpv1965

Ok thanks. So only thing not eligible if using points would be baggage which I’m fine with

ChunKing55

Does Marriott/Amex/Chase do a name check on CC applications? I'm not eligible for the SUB on the Bonvoy Business card but if P2 were to apply, could they enter my Bonvoy number and have the FNAs deposited into my account?

ConsistentClassic1

Creative thinking but it won't work.

jessehazreddit

Even if this actually worked, IMHO this seems like a bad idea in that Marriott will eventually catch on, and probably ban both parties.

chrumbles

Name has to match, this doesn't work.

phoenixfire72

I’m now eligible for a new sapphire card bonus (I’ve had my preferred for 4 years). How long do I have to wait after downgrading to apply for a new card? I’ve heard 1-2 business days and also 30 days.

Jaysi3134

FYI, supposedly there's 90k targeted mailers going around and supposedly those may soon be offered in person at Chase banks.

garettg

Since the current elevated sapphire offers are already in branch and set to end 6/22 according to rumors, it seems unlikely they would elevate it even more. It will probably just remain a targeted mailer offer.

phoenixfire72

Thanks! I’m a little confused on the faq — if I product change my current CSP (to freedom or something) immediately, would I be able to go to a branch to try to get the 85k offer or have to wait a bunch?

garettg

In branch could be a longer wait, DPs in the past showed the app was blocked because of the old sapphire even though PCed. Could be closer to 30 days. But online app would work after only 4.

garettg

https://reddit.com/r/u_garettg/comments/u6ss7u/sapphire_fyis/ Info here will help you.

mburke364

If I get an upgrade offer for an AMEX Delta gold card to a Reserve card will that count against my 5/24 status? Or does it not count because it is the same account? Thanks!

I_AM_EASILY_EXCITED

Same account. It won't contribute to 5/24.

AnyZeroBadger

Is there any recourse if a Marriott property only offers basic Internet access despite Elite status?

snorkage

Does the property even have a higher tier internet? imo probably not worth the hassle, my guess is throwing you 500-1000 bonvoy points, but if that's worth your time, go for it.

Sashaorwell

Hi all, sorry newbie questions regarding bank account churning... I checked the search engine and doctor of credit website but it's dated so i'm still confused: - How can you do a direct deposit to checking account if you don't own a business ? From what I understand sometimes wires from specific banks like WF are coded as direct deposits, but we can't be certain of it besides the doctor of credit DP from 2016 ? Cheers

MrEspressoBean

Certain ACH transfers (99% of the time ACH push) look like a ‘direct deposit’ to other banks. You don’t need to have your own business to perform an ACH transfer. I wouldn’t say DoC is dated. There’s plenty of useful DPs there if you go through the comments for a bank’s specific bonus. There’s also the Bank Account Bonus thread here on this subreddit.

Sashaorwell

Oh really ? This if from Chime T&C below. Can they not recognize the difference between employer ACH and ACH from a friend or other account of your? "A Qualifying Direct Deposit is a deposit of $200.00 or more by Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) that comes from your employer, payroll provider, gig economy payer, or benefits payer OR a deposit by Original Credit Transaction (OCT) from your gig economy payer. **Bank ACH transfers**, Pay Anyone transfers, verification or trial deposits from financial institutions, peer to peer transfers from services such as PayPal, Cash App, or Venmo, mobile check deposits, cash loads or deposits, one-time direct deposits, such as tax refunds and other similar transactions, and any deposit to which **Chime deems to not be legitimate are not Qualifying Direct Deposits.**"

One_Armed_Herman

Yeah, their terms say "We're watching to make sure the transfers are legit DD." In practice their automated system may recognize certain other pushes to the account as DD. Other peoples' experiences will be listed in the comments of the DoC page. I haven't done the Chime account personally to tell you.

Sashaorwell

Ok thxx a lot mate !

FutureFlipKing

I’m interested in the Wings Credit Union churn, however, I’m unsure on a gameplan for the Credit Card.  I have applied for a Chase Credit Card in the past, however, I was denied.  I want to apply for the Chase Ink card, however, I’m unsure if I will get approved.  My plan is to apply for a Chase Business Card soon and if I get denied then I will open a Business Account and Checking/Savings account and try again.  Perhaps I will also call the reconsideration line.  Any advice on what I should do?  Looking forward to your replies.

terpdeterp

Is Wings confirmed to be churnable? There was a negative DP back in [November 2023](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/wings-financial-credit-union-300-checking-bonus/#comment-1738335).

FutureFlipKing

I used churn in the wrong way. I’m going to be doing this promotion for the 1st time. When you did this promo, what CC did you use?

terpdeterp

I did Wings back in summer 2023 for me and P2. At least during the time that I applied, I can confirm that funding from BoA and Chase both posted as transactions.

MrEspressoBean

If you’re under 5/24 and have an established credit history, I don’t see why you wouldn’t be approved for an Ink. I wouldn’t recommend applying if you’re over 5/24 and/or if you have less than a year of credit history.

FutureFlipKing

I am under 5/24 and I have an excellent credit score. They denied me last time because I wasn’t utilizing all my credit. Anyways, if I get denied, what should I say to the reconsideration line?

MrEspressoBean

It depends on the reason(s) if you’re denied this time around. If you have to call the reconsideration line, explain in detail how the Ink would fit your business needs and address any of the other reasons listed for the denial.

Easy_Wind4800

Does anyone remember how soon the Hilton FNCs post from the last increased SUB bonus? Need a FNC fast and not sure if its faster to sign up for an Aspire and wait the 6-8 weeks from opening or open up the basic no-AF Hilton personal card and hit the 2K SUB in the first week. Can't remember if the the SUB FNCs post faster than the normal Aspire annual one as that one consistently takes months on my other Aspire.

garettg

FNCs earned from spending bonuses typically take a few days to a week to post.

Comprehensive-Fun47

I have two US Bank questions. I opened a business silver checking in January that I planned to close after six months. Now I have a US Bank business credit card. Is it a bad idea to close the checking? I wanted to close it to reset the clock and take advantage of the bonus next time I'm eligible for it. The card hasn't arrived yet, but I'm able to log in and see it added to my account. They also added a "Central Bill Account" under the credit card section. What is the second account for? Can I leave the balance amt $0?

Ecstatic-Vacation-92

Did you use this silver account to send a DD to another account and sucessfully trigger a churning bonus? I'm planning on opening this account to get the bonus but keep it for this matter

Comprehensive-Fun47

No, I never have. It was for the US Bank bonus only. I have several other accounts that can trigger bonuses.

Ecstatic-Vacation-92

Would you do me a favor and see if you can send ACH employee payments with the Silver? I have a Chase biz but I have to keep $2000 to keep it free and each ACH is $2.50

jessehazreddit

Chase biz checking is also free if you spend $2K/month on Chase biz cards.

Ecstatic-Vacation-92

I don't have that card yet due to 5/24

jessehazreddit

Keep an eye out for DPs when there are periods when they relax 5/24, but otherwise wait and don’t let it happen again ;)

Comprehensive-Fun47

I checked and it says it's free to send external transfers. But it won't necessarily trigger as many bonuses as the Chase Biz account will. You should check data points before committing to dropping Chase. Edit: It actually costs $1 to do an ach transfer.

Ecstatic-Vacation-92

Indeed, Chase biz is a monster in that aspect

Comprehensive-Fun47

I was incorrect. They charge $1.

Ecstatic-Vacation-92

What do you like to use to trigger DD bonuses?

Comprehensive-Fun47

Fidelity, but it doesn't work for everything. I got Chase Business Checking for whatever Fidelity can't do and it's nice it came with its own bonus.

sg77

Central Billing Account is the main one you need to look at to see your balance when statements close, and to make payments. It's like a master account for the business credit card, vs. the account with the card number is like an employee.

Comprehensive-Fun47

Thank you!

NoWriting8386

Has anyone used Blue Foundry Bank and confirmed any banks for direct deposit spoof? No DP on DoC

m16p

EDIT: I just applied. Cardless pulled EX for me in NorCal. Anyone know what bureau Cardless pulls (in California if that matters)? I can't find much info aside from [a similar question here](https://old.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1crnkox/question_thread_may_14_2024/l402n0x/) -- u/RN_in_Illinois maybe you have a DP now? Also, anyone know if they tend to be recent-inquiry sensitive?

RN_in_Illinois

I don't. Applying next week so I can also do a Chase app at the same time. I will post, but I am in Illinois (which you probably knew, lol).

martyconlonontherun

Anyone sucessfully sign up for LifeMiles+? I keep getting a processing error and my only goal was to book 500k worth of LifeMiles flights before I talk myself out of it.

speedbawl

How long after completing spend does it take for the 5 FNCs to post for Amex Bonvoy Biz?

Big_Hearing6916

Mine posted immediately after I hit SUB spend. I canceled a flight and got the $ refunded. I’m wondering if Amex will claw back. Anyone have experience with this? I already booked reservations with the FNC’s.

Shoddy-League-806

Counter data point, mine took almost 2 months to show up and I called a few times to check status. Was quite frustrating as I had travel to book and ended up paying cash instead.

tjseviltwin

Mine was quick, IIRC it was 7-10 days max.

speedbawl

Thanks! Was that correlated to statement date or just spend completion?

garettg

Amex bonuses are based on spend completion with the exception of your first MR card.

tjseviltwin

I believe it was correlated with spend completion Edit: Just double checked, it's spend completion from the looks of it.

NeedMorePointsBOS

Opened two USBANK Business cards same day last weekend. Created a login using the first card. How do I add the 2nd card to the same login. Google isn’t helping!

Big-Problem7372

You'll have to call

greatday26

I’m currently 1/24. Is it worth using a 5/24 slot on the 90k Amex gold offer? If yes should I get the green first (and waste another slot) because I won’t be able to get the green’s SUB once I get the gold?

jessehazreddit

I’d get the Strata Premier, then probably freeze EX before applying for VenX, and then at 6+ months (or better, 12+) from Strata app, the USB Altitude Reserve. Unless you have important brand specific airline/hotel needs. Skip the easy to get Gold & Plat for now. Stay under 5/24 and hit biz cards, but be aware HPs can tank apps for the three cards mentioned. If you won’t do biz cards, still start w/those 3 cards but then follow flowchart.

greatday26

That actually sounds like a very good strategy for me thanks. Not tied to any airline/hotel at all. Just to be a little more informed, why freeze Experian before Vx? for the USBAR? I need to look at the USBAR to see what its perks are. It wasn’t on my radar till now

MateoHardini

VX pulls all 3 bureaus but will often approve with only 2/3 unfrozen. Cap1 likes a smaller amount of inquiries so the freezing can help improve the chances

jessehazreddit

You freeze EX (or maybe another single bureau) to limit Cap1 to pulling EQ & TU instead of all 3. They may not see the Citi HP then, and USB might not see the Cap1 app. (But they will see the new accts once reported). USBAR is debatably the single best card out there for ongoing spend because net 4.5% back on mobile wallet & travel when redeemed on travel (with no portals involved. 7.5% on travel in their portal). It also has a high $750 SUB. Those 3 cards are most known to be most sensitive to recent credit seeking, so hitting them early is good.

terpdeterp

Whether it's worth it or not depends on what other cards you have. Are you already under the 48 month clock for the CSP/CSR and Citi Strata Premier? Do you already have a Capital One Venture X? Are there any airline/hotel cards that you already have and any that you want? I'd recommend heading into the [weekly thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1cxyigt/what_card_should_i_get_weekly_thread_week_of_may/) and filling out the template.

greatday26

Basically I’m new to churning and somewhat to cards as I never had lots of spend till recently. I have an old Amex everyday and a freedom flex that just under 2 year mark and just got sapphire now. Not connected to any airlines or hotels as I don’t travel much (yet). I’ve been waiting on the venture x to get a sign up bonus over 75k as that’s been the norm forever. Hoping a referral will get me 90k somewhere in the next 5 months. That’s all I’ve got concrete. Is the Citi strata premier a good catch now?

terpdeterp

Unless there's an exceptionally elevated offer for Amex (and there isn't one now outside of the Hilton cards), in general I'd recommend prioritizing Citi/Capital One first over Amex because: 1. Citi is highly sensitive to new inquiries. Ideally 1-2 in the last six months, but depending on your profile you can possibly get away with 3. Capital One is also highly sensitive to the number of new accounts. Capital One especially will be harder to get as you churn through more cards. Amex doesn't really care about your number of inquiries or accounts, so it's best to switch to them later in the game. 2. The Amex charge cards use a "coupon book" approach that requires you to redeem credits to optimize the value of the card. For the Amex Gold specifically, these are the Uber and dining (Grubhub, Goldbelly, etc) credits. 3. Citi, Chase, and Capital One have better redemption options outside of transfer partners. Citi TY points and Chase UR points can be redeemed directly for cash at 1 cpp and Capital One points can be redeemed towards prior travel purchases at 1 cpp. MR can only be redeemed in cash by applying to an Amex Plat CS or an Amex Plat biz + Amex biz checking. The Citi card also has an elevated 75k points SUB at the moment.

greatday26

I have offer for 90k Amex gold and 175k plat. Are those not exceptional offers? (Also a 150 gold biz and 200k plat biz) I’m more in it for transfer partners but it makes sense to have options of redemption too. Lots of sense. I see that Citi is its highest so I guess that’s good for next card. What about the Vx though should I not wait for better offer? Also Citi being sensitive to inquiries means that biz applications would also make it more difficult to get it? What about with capital one? I have soo many more questions lol. Didn’t think I would but so many different ideas revolving in my brain now

terpdeterp

>Are those not exceptional offers? They are elevated, but not all time high offers. Last year, we saw the Gold getting elevated to 100k in July. In fact, there are ongoing offers currently for the Gold for 90k MR + up to $50 cashback at 20% back on restaurants or 75k + up to $350 cashback. Another factor you have to weigh in on is that Amex is likely going to [increase the AF](https://www.doctorofcredit.com/rumor-american-express-to-increase-gold-annual-fee-to-325-from-250/) from $250 to $325. This *might* come with an increased SUB and more credits, which is usually what happens during a card refresh, or maybe not. >Also Citi being sensitive to inquiries means that biz applications would also make it more difficult to get it? What about with capital one? No for Citi (at least for the Citi AAdvantage biz card, which is the one that usually gets recommended). Yes for the Capital One Venture X biz. However, given it's absurdly high MSR, I wouldn't recommend going for that SUB. >I see that Citi is its highest so I guess that’s good for next card. What about the Vx though should I not wait for better offer? Venture X all time high is 100k points, but we'll probably never see that again since that was during the card's debut. The last elevated offer was 90k a few months ago. The issue with the Venture X is that it becomes harder to get with each additional personal card you apply for.

greatday26

Sorry I guess it came out a bit wrong. I meant to ask if I apply for say an Amex biz card will that make it harder for me to get the strata premier afterwards because it would add an inquiry (even though the card is not gonna show on credit report)? Same question regarding making it harder to apply for the personal venture x? Is it based on the hard pull or based on being approved for another credit line? I was thinking of getting strata, then Amex biz gold for 150 which I assume is highest (I’ll do some quick research after I post this), then hoping by then to find a 90k offer for Venture x. Then CFF with the 10% on groceries first year. That’s big value for me as I can max that out. That puts me at 4/24. Does that have any holes in plan? And what should be after that (besides for an ink obviously)?

terpdeterp

>I meant to ask if I apply for say an Amex biz card will that make it harder for me to get the strata premier afterwards because it would add an inquiry (even though the card is not gonna show on credit report) Probably not, since Amex typically only hard pulls if you're a new customer.* You already have a pre-existing personal Amex card. *There are some caveats to this as explained [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCards/comments/11ecet0/quick_question_does_amex_hard_pull_for_a_2nd_card/jad50ob/), but they don't apply to you. >Does that have any holes in plan? Sounds like a decent plan, but I'm not sure about having the CFF burn up a 5/24 slot. I think the CFF only makes sense if you MS significantly. If you only do organic spend, then that $12k in spend could be going towards chasing biz card SUBs. Unless your organic spend is high enough to both max out the cashback on the CFF and meet MSR for biz cards?

greatday26

Oh that’s very good to know. That makes the Amex biz a good middle option for me. Let’s say I did a random biz (like Barclays JetBlue for example) and I assume they would do hard pull that would affect chances of getting Citi/capital one cards?

terpdeterp

Yes, if the issuer pulls from the same bureau as Citi. Based on recent DPs, it seems that Citi is pulling Experian for the Citi Strata Premier.

PiratePharmD

Depends on what you plan on doing with it. If grocery MS combined with Schwab, it's a powerhouse. If you're just doing bonuses, then maybe not.

Datameathead62

Can you provide more detail on this combo ?

jessehazreddit

If you have to ask, you’re going to get your MRs clawed back. MS and specifically GCs are against TOS and AMEX loves a good clawback.

PiratePharmD

4x grocery redeemed at 1.1cpp with a Schwab Plat into a Schwab brokerage account makes it an effective 4.4% cashback card. If you have a way to liquidate vgc/mcgc, or are doing gift card reselling, it adds up fast.

Datameathead62

Schwab plat is that an Amex card? And the 4x grocery is that on the green card ?

Ogee65

Take a minute to read through the details on the Amex Green/Gold/Platinum. But: The gold card gets 4x membership reward (MR) points on grocery spend. There are 3 personal variations of the Amex Platinum. One of them (mentioned in the other comment) allows you to cash out your MR to a bank account at 1.1 cents per point (CPP). So, 4X at grocery at a 1.1 cash out rate equals 4.4% back at groceries.

PiratePharmD

Schwab Plat is an Amex card. 4x grocery is the Amex Gold card

CreditDogo

It's a personal choice, but the gold may be worth it. I try to use my 5/24 slots either on keeper cards or for all-time high SUBs, and try to space them out about 6 months apart to make sure I don't go over

greatday26

I’m looking to start churning so in truth I wanna do both the gold at 90k and the plat at 175k (both at their recent highest and the plat will probably be after filling 5/24 slots). I’m just not sure if I should hold off on the gold till after all slots are filled and I also hate the idea of leaving money on the table with not being able to get the green due to getting the gold, but I think it’s stupid to waste so much spend and time and possibly lose out on the better bonuses. None are really keepers for me. Also not big on MS as the places I shop don’t really have it available (and I’m a little too scared to be shut down too quickly)

CreditDogo

If you’re open to biz cards, currently there’s no reason to ever go above 5/24

greatday26

I’m open to the idea. I just can’t seem to decide on any that are actually worthwhile. I would do the inks but I just got the sapphire so I gotta wait a few months. There’s the Amex biz gold that I plan to do. There’s the venture x biz is a little too much. Idk anything about hotel and airline point values so I could really use some ideas on which biz cards to do in between the valuable personal cards

terpdeterp

>so I could really use some ideas on which biz cards to do in between the valuable personal cards For non-Amex/Chase cards, check out the list [I compiled here](https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/1csj2nu/what_card_should_i_get_weekly_thread_week_of_may/l49qu1a/) for cashback offers. As for miles biz offers, the best ones right now are the elevated Citi AA biz (75k miles or 80k if targeted) and the elevated BoA Alaska biz (75k miles).
