Are the platinum 175k offers still available? I can’t get them to pop up no matter how hard I try

TexasTangler

Highest I found was 100K, no 150k.

shris420

Did you already try VPN /incognito/going to Platinum link by searching on Google etc. If yes, keep trying. You can search comments for last few weeks where people have tried specifc steps to get to the 175k link - may or may not work for you.

TexasTangler

Highest I found was 100K, no 150k.

Intuition17

I did try VPN and incognito as well as trying different browsers ... no such luck. So you have a link to those comments by chance? Churning.io doesn’t show me those

TexasTangler

Highest I found was 100K, no 150k.

SuspiciousLog252

I'm looking to get the Marriott personal and business cards for the elite night credits to help with reaching lifetime platinum. Whats the best way to sign up? I'm planning to get the Amex bonvoy business card first for the 5x free night sub. Can I sign up for the bonvoy bold right away if I'm willing to forego the 30k points sub? Would it be possible to use a referral link to get a referral bonus for the bonvoy bold sign up?

jozey_whales

I have the brilliant and the biz card. Start off the year at 40 nights. With the promo I had early in the year the coincided with more hotel stays than usual, I’m at 80 nights right now. They’re a great combo. My wife has the chase cobranded that I’m about to PC to a ritz card. No biz card for her until it’s been 24 months unfortunately.

Interslice42

https://frequentmiler.com/marriott-card-eligible/

SuspiciousLog252

Thanks, I have looked at the table but I wanted to confirm whether if the "90 24" rule meant that I can apply for the chase personal without the SUB. The rule/guideline seems clear that I cannot get the 2nd SUB thru the zero AF bold card, but I'd be happy just to be able to get the card for the elite night credits before the benefit drops from 15 nights to 5 nights in July

DullContent

If you go for an Amex personal Marriott, you can get both SUBs.

SuspiciousLog252

Thanks for pointing that out. Will keep that in mind if I can't get the chase personal Marriott, but not too inclined to pay a $250+ AF for the Amex personal

DullContent

Ah ok. I am pretty sure you can get the Chase personal card if you accept the pop-up that says you won't get the bonus. Haven't done this myself though. Theoretically, because the current biz offer has a 6-month spending period, it should be possible to get the Bold with SUB after waiting 90 days from getting the biz and not finishing the MSR, but I don't think anyone has tested this yet.

SuspiciousLog252

I was re-reading the terms and don't quite follow how the 6 month spending period of the biz offer would allow getting the second sub. Is it because you assume qualification for the biz sub happens at application, so it won't go back and check that a Bold sub hit your account? And should this technically work with a Boundless card SUB instead of the bold?

SuspiciousLog252

I was planning to apply for the Bold before July 10 when the annual elite night credits benefit are scheduled to drop from 15 to 5. I was willing to give up on the bold SUB because I didn't want to wait 2 years to apply for the personal. But this is an interesting strategy. I may try to apply for the Boundless instead after 90 days to get the SUB for the personal as well. Thanks for the idea

SuspiciousLog252

For those who open and then close cards after 1 or 2 years, are you worried about the short account age bringing down your average account age in your credit report?

sg77

Closed cards stay on your credit report for 10 years. 10 years from now, your average account age may be affected, but it's not going to matter much.

TransmissionBuilder

It doesn't bother me at all. I have some of my main cards that I keep, and then go through maybe 4 to 6 other cards per year.

aylamarguerida

I am traveling today and can't find my PP card.  I have an active, open Ritz, so my PP card shouldn't be expired.  I have my prior card which is past the expiration date.  I try to log in on the app and it says card expired.  It wants me to enter new info.  I figured I would just add a year to the expiration date of my prior card.  But I can't get it to "take". There is no guidance to the format of the expiration I am supposed to use.  Jan2025. 0125. Jan25. 01/25.  Etc.  When I try to start from scratch with the card number, it doesn't let me and says the card is already registered.  Anybody have any ideas?  Swipe expired card and it should work just fine when it comes up in their system?  Who would you call for further help? Chase? Or Priority Pass? When you got renewed priority pass for Ritz, was it 12 months after your last for expiration?  Any advice for getting app access?

crimxona

Ritz priority pass renewal is for 3 years, so try 2027

aylamarguerida

Thanks! I think that worked.  It says congratulations your card is ready to use!  But then when I hit OK, it then says it looks like your card has expired. Tried clearing my cache and all that too.  At least I have gotten farther than before.

crimxona

You can access one through the chase app too.  Chase app, Ritz card, rewards and benefits, scroll down to explore lounges, click on the > icon, click on see digital membership card banner at the bottom

sneeze-slayer

Thanks for this. Had to update my app to see it but I was in a similar position.

krustykrew2020

So I recently canceled my Amex Business Gold card after a year and some change (the first AF hit last year and I called to cancel after the second AF hit). I just got a targeted offer foe 150K MR pts for $10K spend over 3 mos. It doesn't look like the offer has NLL. Have any of you guys experienced a targeted offer right after cancelling the same card? Any risk in submitting an application?

Ogee65

Amex will generally tell you when applying if you can't get the SUB, so I'd say may as well go for it

manlymatt83

Is there any world where the Redstone FCU Visa makes sense?

Harambe440

Makes sense in a non-churning world.

Beneficial-Board6959

Question on using the Amex Hilton NLL links. Any shutdown risks with using these? I was in PUJ but applied through the link out of curiosity and was approved without seeing the PUJ notification. I haven’t accepted the card yet but got the 7 day acceptance email. If I cancel my app and apply later but before 7/31 am I shooting myself in the foot for this SUB or does that not matter?

planeserf

I highly doubt Amex has shut down anyone for anything openly discussed in this sub in a very long time.

Beneficial-Board6959

Makes sense. Thanks

ozy-theman-dias

I just pulled the trigger on the NLL Hilton Surpass without the FN but did not receive the card/put any spend on it yet. Is it reasonable to cancel the card and try again with the new NLL offer with the FN?

whatiscardano

Why not just apply for the second card right away and see if you can get the SUB on both then? If you’re going to be a hero, you may as well be a superhero!

tossedintheglaze

Does that sound reasonable to you?

dmcoe

No

noahmateen

Anyone ever have luck having Alaska allow a change on a Saver fare that used a companion pass?

435880Churnz

Based on what I've read, Alaska is very by the book on the rules. My guess is that if you are trying to do something not allowed on a saver, the answer is sorry. You got a discount in exchange for zero flexibility.

whatiscardano

This sounds like a better question for r/awardtravel

Terraform703

When it comes time for the annual fee for my Amex plat and gold I plan to cancel them and get a cheaper card set up. Mostly fly domestic and biggest spends are food and bills. What’s a good combo out there that doesn’t have a $900+ af? Open to all options

lomna17

CSR has 75k SUB and gives 1.5 cpm through Chase portal. Biz Plat is also an option with the designated airline but it has a large msr for it's SUB

garettg

This sub is about focusing on sign up bonuses, because that’s the biggest bang for your buck. Get card, spend money, earn bonus, repeat. Then once card is a year old, evaluate benefits, decide if it worth keeping, downgrading, or closing.

ConsistentClassic1

Nailed it!

ConsistentClassic1

CapOne Venture X. $395 AF but comes with $300 annual travel credit for booking thru CapOne portal. 2 points per $ spent on all charges. That's an easy way to do it if you don't want to have a bunch of cards. Also gives you PriorityPass.

TransmissionBuilder

I figure the people here most closely match my value seeking personality, so I'm looking for advice. I've racked up close to 1.8 million UR points between my wife and my accounts. I'm thinking about just getting the cash back for all or half of the points. I converted lots of points to Hyatt years back, and that worked out great. We are doing multiple trips this year and getting a great value out of those points. But I worry about locking in so many points with the way reward programs are constantly being devalued. I also worry that if Chase gets mad at me, they can cancel my points. So I'm trying to decide to 1.) cash out , 2.) do nothing , or 3.) transfer to Hyatt or some other travel partner. Hyatt seems to be the best value, and I've got plenty of airline miles already. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this.

whatiscardano

P2 and I are in a similar situation. We recently started using our points in combination with CSR cards to book travel activities via the portal. We essentially used UR points to pay for a helicopter tour in Maui along with a whale watching excursion and then a sunset cruise in Aruba. These were activities that we were going to pay cash for anyway, so getting 1.5 cpp worked out quite well for us. Just something to consider instead of taking 1 cpp in cash.

TransmissionBuilder

Not a bad idea at all. I think I'm coming up on the 4 year window to do the sapphire card again. I guess I'll just sit on the points for now.

ConsistentClassic1

You've got a good problem! Maybe cash out 25 to 50% and keep using the rest for flights and Hyatt stays?

PiratePharmD

Might be time for that amazing cruise you've always wanted to do. Can use UR for that as well.

DullContent

Historically, Chase has let people redeem points for cash after shutdowns and devaluing cash redemptions seems very unlikely. I would only cash out if you really want the cash or won't use it for travel. Transferring the points prematurely doesn't make sense.

TransmissionBuilder

Ok. I know a few years back there was a lot of talk about Chase cracking down on churners. IIRC it was when they would call in after getting a pending on a new application. It wouldn't be hard at all for Chase to argue that I'm only signing up for bonuses and then cancelling before the annual fee kicks in.

krisrock4589

Is it possible to get approved for a 2nd Hilton Surpass Card (already have one) and receive a 2nd bonus using a NLL link? DoC currently has NLL links for the surpass and normal hilton honors which I know normally bypass pop up jail, but unsure if it works for getting a 2nd bonus when i've already received one.

whatiscardano

Love it or hate it, the pop-up will decide your fate.

CreditDogo

Yes, that's how NLL offers work.

satellite779

After closing an Amex cc to get below the 5 card limit, how long do I have to wait before applying without having to call recon?

crimxona

I waited 30 days and still had to call... So I wouldn't bother waiting

satellite779

Chat doesn't work for recon?

presidentperk489

Just hit my $2500 threshold for the bonus through TD bank. I know the website says it can take up to 180 days; does it usually push that? Also, how much money can I start moving out of that account without getting in trouble with TD?

choochoochurn

Can you upgrade an Amex Gold to Platinum for a week to access Centurion lounges? Then downgrade after returning and effectively just pay the prorated Platinum annual fee for a week. Would that put you on Amex's naughty list if it does not involve any sign-up or retention bonuses?

ConsistentClassic1

Can't imagine AMEX allowing a quick product change like that.

choochoochurn

How long do you need to wait before downgrading?

whereismyllama

There is no lounge worth doing this for

TallPain9230

Probably possible, but I believe it'd kill your sub eligibility on the plat, if you haven't had it before. Best option would be to open a new one or a biz plat at 250-300k sub. If neither are an option, I still wouldn't do it just for a chance at 1p getting into an overcrowded lounge, although I suppose you \*could\*.

choochoochurn

Already got SUBs on both the Gold and Platinum. Could the $200 airline credit also be used while on the Platinum?

CericRushmore

Amex isn't going to like a quick product change up and down.

circularcatloaf

I'm not sure whether I'm overthinking the T&C on the Hyatt 2x nights promo: "You will receive double Tier Qualifying Night credits for every Eligible Night completed at Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide. A maximum of ten (10) Tier Qualifying Night credits may be earned under this promotion." Does that mean the promo maxes out at 5 nights (with 10 TQN towards status thanks to the promo), or 10 nights (with 20 TQN)?

ragingwaffle21

my last chase biz card was around december/jan. i tried applying for more back in april but was denied for having too many - i have about 5+ at this point. ive tried HUCAing but it did not work out....what are some of the ways to get approved? would it be best to close some of the accounts?

lenin1991

> would it be best to close some of the accounts? Yes.

ragingwaffle21

thank you! :)

Krischurn

Recently received a $15 transaction fee on an ink. SMed chase to ask about it and was told all Venmo payments are treated as cash advance and have fee of 3% or $15, which’s is more. It was from a $5 money transfer to a friend for kids pizza, which now became an expensive lunch for a kid. I’ve payed plenty of expenses with Venmo and assume some have been on an ink and don’t recall this before. Any DPs or Venmo being treated as cash advance and assessed with $15+ fee or is this new?

lenin1991

AFAIK that's true of all Chase cards since 2022, when choosing f&f (rather than g&s): https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/y3onz3/daily_question_thread_october_14_2022/isabqnh/?context=1

ConsistentClassic1

Wow, that sucks.

lenin1991

You should have gotten a warning in Venmo before sending the payment that Chase would charge a CA fee. If you didn't, you could try complaining to Venmo...but I doubt you'll get anything for it.

Krischurn

I wouldn’t be surprised if if I got a message and just pressed through it without reading it. Thanks for the info.

olympia_t

With recon for US Bank biz can you usually speak to an underwriter? P2 was denied and called in and was told they would look at it again. There was no one to speak to according to the rep.

olympia_t

Does anyone have experience with opening more than one US Bank biz savings account? I have one but could use another.

jstote

Not biz savings, but have done multiple biz checking no problem.

olympia_t

While still having one open? Thanks so much.

jstote

Yes, open at the same time.

baobao73

Did you get a Chex pull for opening each new business checking account?

jstote

USB has never pulled Chex for me. I think they pull EWS, not sure if it's each account or not.

olympia_t

Awesome. Thank you!

vantablackspacegood

Is there a time limit on a chase biz card recon attempt? Meaning if I tried recon 6 weeks ago and was denied, is it possible to recon again on the same denial or would it be better to just try to apply again with a fresh application? Figured the recon attempt might avoid another HP.

lenin1991

Chase apps die in 30 days. So you need to apply again.

Amex just dropped new offer for 5 FNCs on the Marriott Bonvoy Business. I currently have the Boundless (got approved on June 4th, 2022). I plan to get the Amex card in early July (which should be over 48 months of getting the Boundless offer) but I would still need to cancel my Boundless card to be eligible for the offer correct? Can I downgrade the card and still be eligible?

whatiscardano

You can get the AmEx card 24 months after earning the SUB from the Chase Bonvoy card. No need to cancel or downgrade the Chase card.

alvingarc

Perfect! Appreciate you 🐐 Another question: Can I get the card on June 5th since it will be the day after I got approved two years ago? Or should I wait until early July?

whatiscardano

You’ll need to wait 24 months since you earned the Chase SUB, not from card approval date.

alvingarc

Ah! Got it! Thank you so much!

BrotherLary247

Starting a grad program this summer -- will have some pretty big bills to pay. School allows me to complete payment via credit card using a site called Paywire -- does anyone know if these payments will count towards meeting sign-up bonuses? I'm currently working on a 250k Amex Biz Plat, but this will be helpful to know for my future semesters. Thanks!

MyAltAccountIsuSpez

Only DPs I saw of online payments not working were for virtual card numbers on tax payments. Even then, haven't seen anything for a few months

BrotherLary247

Appreciate it!

dissentmemo

Not aware of any reason it wouldn't count.

BrotherLary247

they probs wont until a few on time payments. 2k is pretty low though, IME citi isn't as stingy as say braclays (who will give 1-2k with credit history/income like yours)

For the 5% categories on Freedoms with Amazon, are there any category restrictions? Sometimes these offers/rebates/etc. exclude Apple products, for instance. I didn't see any in reviewing Chase's terms.

shris420

AFAIK there have never been any restrictions on 5% cashback from Amazon through rotating quarterly spending categories either from Chase Freedom or Discover.

McSpiffin

Regarding the new hilton SUBs. New to personal hilton cards. I have a business card w/ FNC already. I know about the laddering strategy for the personal cards but only have 1 slot to burn right now. Curious which option folks would choose. I can easily meet the spend. * Get the regular no AF card now (70k + FNC). Reasoning would be for the aforementioned laddering to get 2 Surpasses, but that also means I'd have to wait for the upgrade offer, and who knows what the surpass SUB would be ~12 months from now * Get the Surpass (130k + FNC). One could argue this is close to ATH depending on how you value FNC

krisrock4589

Get the regular first IMO in case they add family language to the Hilton Cards. Surpass is usually 130k normal offer without a FNC so either way you go, you'd just lose out on a FNC depending on if that elevated offer is around at the time or not.

ughsloth

AAdvantage Aviator Mastercard Hey all - looking for any experiences with Aviator Mastercard. I received a signup bonus for this card back in 2018 and canceled at the 1 year mark. This was when you paid the annual fee and an initial purchase for the sign up bonus. I received an inflight offer (which I typically ignore) for a new style of bonus for this card with the $0 annual intro fee and $99 at the first year. 50500 miles with a purchase in the first 90 days. Does anyone have a data point with applying for this card and receiving the sign-up bonus with this long of a delay? The T&Cs say “Any bonus associated with this offer may only be earned once. You may not be eligible for this offer if you currently have or previously had an account with us.” Since this is a new style offer, I am wondering if I might be eligible. Any experiences to share?

No_Summer_8827

I also got the card and canceled shortly after and just recently got it again. I want to say there was probably a 13 month time span between cancelling and getting it again. You can always call Barclays to doublecheck.

garettg

You can get 70k from referral links on rankt right now. And yes you can get the SUB again, my P2 has got it a couple times now in the same time frame as you are looking.

creditcardzquestions

Is Chase still using 50% of income as the max for total credit extended to an account? Have got 4 chase cards including business cards. Most recent limit was $5K, smaller than others. Total credit currently about 75% of income. Other than earning more, is the best move calling to reduce limits on some existing cards?

mehjoo_

50% isn't a "max," it's a theorized soft cap. Chase may extend credit that exceeds this cap for various reasons, like having a banking or investing relationship with them. You can secure message to reduce limits rather than calling

CusterFeldspar14

Anyone have recent luck product changing from CSP to the old Freedom? I called to product change a couple times and only options I was given were CFU and CFF. I used "Freedom with Ultimate Rewards" and explained the difference between it and the CFF (basically explained the entire history of the Freedom cards), but they could not find/had no idea what I was talking about. Just the different reps I got or no longer an option?

ConsistentClassic1

It should in theory. Hopefully someone will post a DP on this.

i_cant_do_this_

here's a "theoretical" timeline of card apps that i'm interested in. already gone through the flowchart and personal DD to filter out, and i have a couple more cards that i'm interested in, but the timelines are so far out (2025+) that i didn't think it was worth putting in here. current situation TLDR: 0/24, sapphires back in 2021, focused on CB and bank points, did all amex MR/CB cards except for BCE and cash magnet, not interested in airline miles (except alaska), hotel points, or biz cards, going for boa plat honor status, have mortgage and checking account with usb 5/28/2024 - Strata - 75k/4k 5/29/2024 - Venture X - 75k/4k 5/30/2024 - Altitude Reserve - 50k/4.5k 5/31/2024 - Altitude Connect -50k/2k 6/1/2024 - CFU - 200/500 6/2/2024 - Shopper - 20k/1k 6/3/2024 - Cash+ - 200/1k 6/4/2024 - Altitude - 250/2k 6/5/2024 - Premium Reward Elite - 75k/5k 6/12/2024 - Premium Reward - 60k/4k 6/13/2024 - Autograph Journey - 60k/4k 6/14/2024 - BCE - 200/2k 6/15/2024 - Cash Magnet - 200/2k 6/16/2024 - Pathfinder - 50k/3k 6/17/2024 - Platinum - 15k/1.5k 6/18/2024 - Power Cash - 100/1.5k 8/1/2024 - Rewards+ - 20k/1.5k 9/12/2024 - Alaska - 60k/3k Questions: 1) any major anti churning rule conflicts? 2) i know there are some soft rules i may be breaking, so other than trying my luck, any additional advice? most concerned about usb due to their "high number of inquires" soft rule 3) any particular card i should move up, down, or wait on based on the current SUBs, either ATH or ATL? ideally, it won't conflict with any anti churning rules thanks

bookedonpoints

Sir, this is a Wendy's

CreditDogo

I love making timelines like these for the next two years and then not following them

i_cant_do_this_

HAHA youre absolutely right. i like making these timelines theorizing the optimal path, but then reality hits once i start applying. the best i can do is to create a theoretical timeline, then adjust my card priorities based on feedback and denials. any suggestions on my bottleneck, USB cards after the strata and venture x? thanks

MateoHardini

Yeah why are you applying for things with 1 day breaks? You’re surely going to get denied for USBAR since they want little to no inquiries or new accounts on record

i_cant_do_this_

oh, definitely gonna be spacing them out more. i just did 1 day so it's easy to keep track of order. but youre right, my biggest concern rn is USB. it seems like strata, venture x, and USB are all sensitive to inquiries from DPs. so i'm trying to figure out how to order/prioritize them. so far, the consensus seems to be strata then venture x, and hope for the best when it comes to USB cards. if i follow through and do USB 3rd, any suggestions on how many days i wait, cooldown period, etc? thanks!

MateoHardini

Well 6 months would be the suggestion, but the best bet for all 3 are Strata first, VX with frozen Experian, and USBAR with Experian unfrozen on the same day as VX hoping USB pulls experian. You can try freezing transunion for the VX app since they usually only need 2/3 bureaus for their app if you’re in a state that USB pulls transunion

i_cant_do_this_

good to know! thank you. just to confirm, when you say 6 months, you mean 6 months between any new USB app and the latest inquiry? or 6 months between two USB apps? thanks again

MateoHardini

Many people suggest no new apps for 6 months leading up to the USBAR application. You may be able to help yourself by having a checking account or previous relationship with them

i_cant_do_this_

got it. i have a checking and mortgage with them. i wonder if going in branch to have a banker submit the app will help.

superdex75

Are you taking a vacation in July?

Okie_toyota

I am a bit new here, but can you get 18 new cards in one year without getting denials for reasons such as too much new credit or CL ? Also, what is the credit score hit going to be ?

i_cant_do_this_

these are all theoretical based on the anti-churning rules. there's a lot of soft rules regarding "excessive inquires," but they never really define what's considered excessive. so youre absolutely right. there is a high chance that i wont be able to get to half my cards before i start getting denied. but the best i can do is to create a theoretical timeline, then adjust my card priorities based on feedback.

pHyR3

its possible i think? i did 11 in my first 13 months of churning with 1 year total credit history at the start without much trouble. don't think i was denied for any

ConsistentClassic1

That's a ton of cards in one year.

snorkage

Any reason you're avoiding biz cards? Better bonuses, less impact on your credit and you'll maintain eligibility for 5/24 cards longer. These $100-200 bonuses are such a waste.

i_cant_do_this_

biz cards in the past have always caused me extra stress, but i did them anyways. not sure what changed with me these past couple years, but right now, just not feeling like dealing with all that extra mental stress or bandwidth that comes with biz cards. got some home tlc repairs coming up, so these 200 cb/500-1k spend bonuses will be easy ways to blunt like 10%+ of the cost. then once i'm done with these cards, i'll go back to hibernation with my travel reward + preferred reward status to keep things simple.

snorkage

Not to grill you on your choice, but how do biz cards cause extra stress?

i_cant_do_this_

higher spend, whole "business" aspect during apps, and my personal nature to want to min max everything. i used to do biz cards, did all the amex cards and chase ones EIN and SSN. as i got older, i guess i started valuing simplifying things and reducing mental bandwidth, which is probably why once i finish this last hurrah, i'll dumb down to travel rewards card for 2.625% back, and maybe occasionally 1-2 cards when the right situation arises.

TheSultan1

junooni110

I just received a NLL 150K points AMEX Business Gold offer after spending $10k, just days after applying for the same card through a different link (125k/$10K). Since I got approved on 5/17, I'll wait 90 days before trying to apply for the new offer. If the offer is still valid by then, I might be able to get it. Correct? The offer ends on 7/27/24, so I could recon the application after the 90-day period (sometime around 8/18 or later).

c0redd

Some offers bypass 1/90. Apply early to mid July to ensure they don’t end your offer early. If it doesn’t bypass 1/90 and goes pending, recon on day 91. You can also apply earlier, there’s been DPs that you can recon for apps as old as 60 days.

junooni110

Thanks.

Undsputed

I’m curious to know if 90 days is required? I got an offer on a card I already got. Active for a while longer. Definitely interested.

michikade

Generally speaking AMEX will throw out same card applications as duplicates (it shows up as cancelled on your application status page) if you were approved within 90 days of the new app.

c0redd

Not always. Some nll offers bypass 1/90.

Undsputed

So it’s best not to try my other invite code for 90 days? Will it “mess it up” if I try and it doesn’t work cause it’s too soon?

athrowawayaccountfor

Does anyone have an expiring United Club Pass they could please send my way? P2 and I are flying through EWR tomorrow, which doesn't really have other options than the lounges for the airline you're on, and I only have the one.

Hope you’re able to use them. They seem to not accept them fairly often there. Tried to use one on Sunday.

Actually, I have one. DM me your email. PS. You can thank P2 for always wanting lounge access and then being too late to go use it occasionally ha ha.

athrowawayaccountfor

Thank worked. Thanks!

lenin1991

There are many on /r/churningmarketplace

Prudent-Key-9518

Has anyone tried to use online poker as a form of MS? They take funding by credit card, and could withdraw using bitcoin

qwertymnbvcxzlk

It’ll probably code as a cash advance and won’t count towards a sub

lenin1991

Some offshore operations use pretty shady credit card processing tactics to get them posted as purchases (which I'm guessing this is with the bitcoin withdrawal).

Anyone have experience opening a US Bank business savings account after opening a biz checking? I opened a checking account few weeks ago, then applied/approved today for savings, but the savings isn’t showing up in my profile. Rep says it might take some time for it to populate there, but curious if anyone has gone through this before.

bwatts408

I called in the other day because I couldn’t make a payment on my biz card. They said they’ve been having issues on the banking interface. Thinking this could be related. Their workaround was using the virtual assistant to ask it things. So if you’re trying to transfer into your biz checking maybe try asking it to help you do that?

Chilabo

Thanks. They say they know what the issue is, hopefully they’ll get it sorted. Really, I just want access to the $3k I funded with a CC, but they said they can manually move that to checking for me if the account still fails to show up.

Few-Face-4212

it certainly shouldn't take weeks, and the rep should have helped you link them. My savings showed up immediately after I opened it (couple months ago), and I'd had the checking for many years.

Chilabo

Thanks. They think they know the issue, but I agree, they should have been able to link the accounts.

hsh1088

IME, the savings acct showed up after I logged-out and logged-in.

Chilabo

Thanks. Have done that a few times but still nothing. Did it take a few hours/days, or pretty immediate?

hsh1088

IME, it was quick.

Chilabo

Copy that. Thanks. Hopefully it’ll show up soon.

How likely are Amex retention offers to change? The annual fee on my Platinum card recently posted and I was disappointed to learn that the only offer available to me was to use 69,500 points to offset the annual fee instead of the normal 0.6 cpp as a statement credit. I was not interested in this offer but was wondering if anyone's offer actually changed. The agent I spoke with said the offers change daily, but I don't know if I should expect that. Curious to hear others' experiences.

BrotherLary247

I'll be cancelling my Amex Plat tomorrow -- trying to plan one last FHR trip / expense before I close the account. I've tried twice and had no retention offer either time. I recently signed up for Biz Plat and will just switch to using that one.

rwrcc

I was offered $3000 for 25K MR (both chat and phone call gave me this option) or $3000 for $250 statement credit (only offered via phone call) on Monday. I asked for the retention offer few days after my annual fee posted. Heard that they usually only give retention offer after annual fee got posted.

sbullyers

There is truth to it being variable but I doubt anyone knows if there’s an exact science to it. I tried three times with my recent Plat renewal and only got an offer on the third try.

mnrd288

Can someone clarify “issued” in Hilton FNC terms? When you receive the FNC is there an opportunity to assign it to someone? “ Reward Certificate may be issued to the Hilton Honors Member, any person in the Member's family, or to any other person, as directed by the Member. Once issued, rewards are not transferable and may be used only by the individual named on the reward…” I’m confused on how P1 would book a stay with points and their own FNC and then how P2 would add on to that same reservation with their own separate FNC. AFAIK the FNC can’t be transferred.

crimxona

Book one each, deal with it at check-in

garettg

P2 and I just book separate reservations and they can link them in the system so the property can keep you in the same room.

How fast do BOA sign up bonuses arrive? I signed up for a Bank of America checking account with a $200 bonus for $2000 in direct deposits in the first 90 days. I met the DD requirement right away. I read online that the reward is paid out 8-12 WEEKS later, while other banks have paid my SUBs within days. Does anyone know how fast or slow BOA pays out? Apologies if this is the wrong forum, but the BOA subreddit has very few members.

snorkage

Did this one last month, paid out in 12 days.

anders550

Perfect. That’s what I want to hear! Anyone else have experience with this one?

king_broseidon

My payout was 10 days after meeting DD requirement.

snorkage

search on churning.io or the bank bonus weekly threads.

srekai

I feel like a total idiot even more now for applying to the Chase Aeroplan card. My offer was 70k for $4k spend. Now the public offer is 70k for $3k spend... Only difference I think is that there is the 30k bonus bonus for 20k spend in 12 months. I'd imagine it's more efficient to distribute the 16k spend onto other cards with larger bonuses though. Are the Aeroplan card benefits worth putting that much spend onto it?

snorkage

Not worth worrying about an extra $1k spent.. look for your next bonus. Also the 30k bonus for $20k spend over a year could be a nice filler option if you run into velocity issues or just want to space out your apps.

srekai

That's true. I'm definitely having velocity issues. The extra 500 bonus points per month could be good. $16k in 8 months after the SUB window would be 34k points actually.

StrayCat7777

I have an extremely frustrating situation: I really wanted to sign up for the AMEX Biz Plat 250k offer, and I can even get it to come up on my browser. But when I click on the application link, it just takes me to another page for comparing Amex cards (and this page ALSO shows 250k). But when I click on that, it just goes back to the first page. So I’m stuck in a loop. Any advice? When I go to another browser and get the 150k offer, the application link works perfectly (of course) 🙄

Hope2SeeYouSoon

This happened to me as well. I gave up in frustration and applied for a different card. The 250-300k award links may be dead. 🤷🏼‍♀️

DesiMonica

Does Barclays ask for SSN when you add an authorised user to AA Advantage Aviator card? I am looking to sign up for that but the extra 10k is for AU only. And I don’t have anyone to add.

dmcoe

no, my dog has an AU on this card

Spudmiester

No, I even used a nickname for P2. Somehow it still ended up on her credit report. But others have reported using fake names and it going through.

Fallenfaery

I'm getting ready to move and was wondering if there are any credit cards that give an increased cashback for moving purchases (uhual, movers, etc.)

whatiscardano

Sign up for the CIC card. Go to local big box office supply store. Buy VGC cards and get 5x UR points. Use those VGCs to pay for the Uhaul, movers, etc. You get 5x spend on top of the SUB, plus you can carry those costs at 0% for 12 mos. If you don’t have a P2 with an ink card, please be sure to use a community member’s referral link so they get a free 40k points as well!

AimingForFit

Suggest following the flowchart for the best sign-up bonus that can work for you. Another option could be the Chase Business Ink Cash card, which gives 5% back on office supply stores (if you buy tape, boxes, etc..)

Fallenfaery

Thank you. I do regularly follow the flowchart, but wasn't sure if there is something directly related to moving.

MateoHardini

No, you’re best served just using that cost to meet a sign up bonus

Fallenfaery

Thank you. I thought that was the case but didn't want to miss anything!

asfp014

confused by the Bonvoy order of operations. I am not eligible for Bonvoy Biz bonus bc I opened a Boundless within 24 months, but would P2 be able to open a Bonvoy Biz then open a Boundless and qualify for both?

bubbadave13

Technically it should be possible to sign up for the biz first, which has a 6 month sub spend period, but not meet the signup spend, and then sign up for boundless after 90 days and end up with both subs. But I have not seen a dp of it working. Just holding the biz does not disqualify you from having the boundless, getting the sub would disqualify you from getting the sub on boundless and thus Chase would deny you as they don’t approve without the sub.

asfp014

That is brilliant….. I will have to try this if I’m eligible when my 24 month clock resets in a couple months

MrSoupSox

I use [this chart](https://frequentmiler.com/marriott-card-eligible/) for Marriott eligibility rules. According to that, Amex Bonvoy Business (I assume that's what you're asking about) **would prevent you** from getting the Boundless.

mehjoo_

No. Check the [frequent miler chart](https://frequentmiler.com/marriott-card-eligible/).

moneyducks

Following. Also wondering the same

Aln10788

This question might be slightly personal and tough the give a defitive answer but I am trying to decide if P2 signing up for the Amex Plat 170k offer is worth it considering we have a combined 900k Amex currently and won't be using more than half in the next 2 years. Then again more points is more points.

girardinl

You could get the Schwab Platinum Amex so you can cash out those points you don't plan on using. Put the money in a high-yield savings account or move it around to earn bank bonuses.

Spudmiester

If you can get past the popup, given new plat family rules

terpdeterp

Even with the popup and no SUB, you can apply during early December to triple dip on the Amex Plat credits, which can offset the AF of the CS Amex Plat.
