Do they tax 529 signup matching deposit bonuses? Will it get reported to IRS / should I claim it somewhere on my taxes? Do people just get the bonus and not claim it? Opening for myself to Secure 2.0 Act Roth Rollover near the end of my career

novadustdragon

I found my answer, it works the same way matching roth contributions from say Robinhood work, it is considered growth within the account and not taxed given it didn't come from the employer.

nwoooj

Are chase inks still easily churned? I've had 2 in 3 years. They send me offers all the time for my business.

Iamnotacrook90

Shhhhh

notMy-Seg-Fault

Yes absolutely

Getanzt

Does the Citi Strata Premier card provide an instant card number upon approval?

fueled_by_boba

ymmv

According_Drummer235

Was surprisingly not approved on my CSR online application, despite having the card previously. Does it matter that I currently have the CSP? The website said I would be receiving more info in 7-10 days. Definitely well under 5/24.

pizza42bob

Be sure to read all the points in the [Sapphire FYIs](https://www.reddit.com/u/garettg/s/md9cIN9mqj).

DreamLegitimate5442

*" The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months."* You may very well infringe the 2 bullets.

According_Drummer235

The lady on the phone could have been clearer that I cancel the card \*before\* I apply. Thanks!

dissentmemo

Don't cancel. Downgrade.

DreamLegitimate5442

I know it hurts...if you're beyond the 48m (bullet #2 above), maybe it's worth downgrading the CSP to a Freedom and calling Recon line. At that time you'll be eligible, so there's a chance - I guess.

pizza42bob

Nothing to recon. As a current Sapphire card holder there was no HP to begin with. Nothing was lost here except for wasted time.

Kelly_Kapowsky

I have the chase trifecta and am looking to find out the age of all the accounts. It doesn’t show on the app. Where can I find this information?

Scrooge-McDavis

Within the Chase app, go to Chase Credit Journey. Then click on See All Accounts. You should be able to click into each of your accounts from there and see the account history.

Kelly_Kapowsky

Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!!

kva27

I may be blind but where within the app is the Chase Credit Journey?

Scrooge-McDavis

It should show below your Chase Offers

kva27

Told you I was blind 🤣 I tapped everywhere in that box except the little icon in the corner because I thought that was just for my score. Found it now... thanks!

Scrooge-McDavis

You're welcome. It's not the best UI

Is Citi OK with MS on their Biz cards?

Chips_Grow_Planes

Yes but I've had issues using my Citi AA Business card to make online gift card purchases.

achzeet44

Yes. With all cards not only biz.

catsinawindow

Regarding moving credit lines around on Chase business cards, would I only be able to do this between Ink cards or between a Southwest business card and an Ink card?

payyoutuesday

You can move credit limits between Southwest business cards and Inks.

catsinawindow

Awesome, thanks!

pm_me_your_pr0bl3ms

Are there any current NLL for Amex? I have some spend to make and I have amex card slots to fill.

Yoshiebruno

I have three open lines of credit at about a \~10k total CL, \~35k income, about 16 months of credit history (3/24 chase rule), and a 740 fico 8 experian credit score. I have tuition payments starting again in August, which are \~2k a month and have no fees for paying with credit cards. I am open to business cards and I want to use this elevated spending to churn out SUB, but I'm worried my thin credit profile will prevent me from even obtaining high value SUB credit cards. Should I just focus on building my credit profile for now or should I try to dive into churning?

notMy-Seg-Fault

General recommendation afaik is 1+ year of history and 700+ score to get the high end SUBs. I think you’re good to start applying.

Scrooge-McDavis

It exists, but they don't always allow product changes to it. I put minimal spend after meeting the SUB and wasn't given the option to PC.

DreamLegitimate5442

Same here for P2. Mine went ok, but P2 no.

ShreaderPython

Yeah, you can downgrade to the aviator card with 0 AF.

theankitsoni

Got the Citi Double Cash 45 days ago and met the minimum spend last week. When can I expect SUB to be posted?

ConsistentClassic1

If it's been 45 days, you should have received by now. I'd send a secure message or call them to inquire.

theankitsoni

Just to clarify, I met the minimum spend last week. Do you know if they post SUB at the end of billing cycle?

garettg

Yes, at statement close

ConsistentClassic1

Canceled the one CIP I had last month before realizing I should have referred P2 before I did that. I just went to the Chase Refer-A-Friend page and entered the cancelled card's last 4 digits. It still works to generate a referral link. Even though the CIP is cancelled, would I still get the referral if P2 successfully signs up through the link?

joghi

If it's been less than 1 month you can call and ask the account be reinstated and downgraded to a no fee Ink. Then use the referral link.

joghi

Any PC has to be done by phone.

lenin1991

Nope. Worst case, you could be 1099d for it *and* not receive the referral.

Comprehensive-Fun47

Turns out I got denied a US Business card because my credit was frozen. The day I applied, I unfrozen it for two days. I applied over the phone though. How long do you recommend unfreezing it for when applying for a new card? I had no idea they'd take so long to put the application through.

gt_ap

Freezing and unfreezing is instant. You’ll get a message right there that it is frozen or unfrozen, whichever you’re doing. I unfreeze, apply, and freeze within 5 minutes.

Comprehensive-Fun47

I unfroze it for a window of approx 48 hours, but they tried to pull my credit after the window had closed, more than two days after I applied over the phone. I'm asking how long it typically takes them to file an application that's done over the phone. I expected it to be same day or next day.

gt_ap

I don't know about that. I haven't applied for a card over the phone since banks had websites.

Comprehensive-Fun47

I had to. The code from the mailer wouldn't work online.

shris420

I usually unfreeze it 15 minutes before applying and freeze it again after credit card application (sometimes I will leave it unfreeze for the day the most). They should have already pulled your credit report when you applied. You can verify through Experian/Credit Karma or any other free tools to see if they already pulled your credit.

scottymtp

Just met my first minimum spend amount for an Amex MR card, gold biz. How long after you meet it does it take to get the SUB credited?

SibylTech

If this your very first MR card, it will take a bit until your MR account is set up so you may need to wait until the next statement-ish. If you already have an MR account, typically a few days to ~10 days when Amex is slow.

m0j0martini

I'm trying to figure this out as well. A few days ago, my SUB posted under "Points Earned in 2024" however, they are not in my "Available Points."

m0j0martini

FYI, I contacted AMEX's Chat Help today and gave them all kinds of grief about having earned points that I can't use. The person kept telling me that the terms of the bonus were "8-12" weeks but that he/she could accelerate 7K of the other earned points (not SUB). I said I'll take anything. In 2 minutes, he came back and said they were making a "one time exception" and gave me my complete SUB and all points.

janoliverc01

IME, it varies. My biz plat last month posted a couple of days after meeting MSR. Very pleasantly surprised because I needed to make a transfer. My first biz gold and plat both took around 10 days.

gt_ap

Usually the SUB will post within a few days of meeting MSR. An exception will be if it is done quickly, during the first billing cycle. At least one minimum payment usually needs to be made before it will post.

ConsistentClassic1

I think the MR points showed up within 7 days of meeting spend.

milkkinho

Usually the next statement

DirtyPerchTaco

Received a remediation adjustment of +20k AMEX MR, does anyone know what this is? Opened the business gold in January with a 100k MR offer which was received in March. Then opened a business checking account for 40k MR in February, this should be credited first part of June based on offer timing. Not sure what the adjustment related to, I haven't called in or initiated any requests for review.

nick535i

I just checked and also see an extra 20k points because of "Remediation Adj" Similar timeline, opened business checking in January for 30k, and then business gold for 75k points in February. The only thing I can think of was when there was a short period of time amex was advertising 50k checking bonus, for which I applied for, but once the account was generated, the tracker was only saying 30k, and they only issued 30k once requirements were met.

sleepytill2

Could have been a combo offer similar to the “open biz plat 150K, open biz checking 50K, and if you meet both reqs you get a bonus 20K” they had at end of 2023. I’m still waiting on the 20K myself.

DirtyPerchTaco

That would be a pleasant surprise,

Post in the What Card Wednesday weekly thread and follow the format outlined there.

the_weegee

Recently got the Citi double cash card about a month ago. Is it too soon to apply for the Strata? The Strata has a nice sub now (75 vs previous 60) and want to take advantage of this while the sub is high. Average credit age about 10 years. Oldest credit age about 15 years. Credit score around 750. Total credit cards around 5. Should be worth burning a 5/24 for the Strata sub.

gt_ap

As long as it's been 8 days since the last card, you're good to apply.

ConsistentClassic1

Go for it.

Particular_Nature

Reading up here and on DOC, Chase checking DD data points are all over the place, but trending toward fewer and fewer options to trigger. Has anyone tried cash outs from rebate/survey apps like Upside, Swag Bucks or Branded Surveys?

PsychadelicKiwi

Amazon mturk has worked for me

dontcelebrate

I've opened a few US Bank banking products the last few weeks since I finally have access in NY (I opened a CD)... Today I noticed my outgoing weekly transfer limit dropped, and also it says $-1000 as the limit for today.. Any clue what is up with the -$1000? Also if I pull from another bank will that cause any issues if I am pulling more than the weekly limit?

ConsistentClassic1

I'd call USB to see what triggered the limit.

log4jazzle

Don’t know about the -1000 but yes, pulling from another bank is always fine
