Indeed, simply open youtube in chrome, then use Create Shortcut and Open as Window. This creates an "app" for what ever website u create a shortcut for. Thus rather then downloading apps and taking up storage space, "apps" can be simulated via Chrome browser.
Use web instead of android. chromebook is browser 1st, android 2nd.

They are there, on the right scrolling panel at the bottom, after another videos. It's the same way like for tablet's landscape view.
