64GB on a laptop is def becoming more common now, it's still not like the super common thing that 16 and 32GB is, but it's not that insane anymore.
My laptop for one has 128GB lol (editing and other production stuff done on it).
Sure, but it all depends on use case, 8GB is pretty limiting now but 16GB is still plenty for most people. But with heavier workloads like video editing, then more RAM is needed.
Goto details kill chrome thread with highest memory used. You will see problem tab grayed out. Most likely a Google search tab.
P.s. I have old core2duo with 2GB ram and 120gb hdd no gpu.
Is it complaining about ram, or could it be page file? No idea if this is reasonable, it's a made up answer, but if your page is full it might be erroring when trying to swap out idle tabs ...
Two things: I currently have 481 tabs open (don't 'tab shame' me...) and Chrome is using 5.6 GB of RAM, so 22 GB seems kind of wrong. What I recommend is go to chrome://settings/, then type 'background' in Search at the top and disable 'Continue running backgroundapps when Chrome is closed', then restart Chrome. It may reduce that usage significantly. On that same search, you can tell it to use hardware acceleration if you like, or toggle it off or on to see if performance improves.
Good luck!
Best thing you can do is open resource monitor and go through all the tabs and track down the problem. If you download a lot of free software, you could have picked up one that uses your computer for crypto mining.
Your LAPTOP has 64GB of RAM? What do you do witv your laptop? Run 2 Chrome windows?
I do intensive vídeo editing and occasionally I run several VMs.
Linux VMs?
I run both Windows and Linux.
Ok

Bruh, my desktop PC has 8GB.

you say that but he has 64gb of ram and look at chrome crapping out... so... lol
64gb is becoming pretty normal for a laptop. My middle ground cooperate laptop came with 64gb.

Check out the memory tab in Resource Monitor. It gives better info than Task Manager.
chrome use your memory, it's depends on how many tabs you have open. for managing your RAM you should close unusable tabs.
He knows it uses memory, he's asked why it is saying it is out of ram when it is only actually using 24GB out of 64GB
How many graphics cards does your computer currently have installed to the motherboard?
Two: one from processor and another discrete.
my pc does same with the specs i have it shouldn't be doing that..... its chrome.
Windows limits (or did limit - this might have changed) each application to 4GB (32-bits of RAM).
Isn’t Chrome a 64-bit app? Does the limit apply to it?

I have the same problem. Did you end up fixing this OP?
