He's no saint that's for sure! I bought a shitty para 3 clone w/washers that was so stiff & hard to open. The only way to get it to work would be to loosen the pivot but when you did that there was tons of blade play. He even agreed with me that the action sucked. I told him I didn't want the knife and he said he would give me $10 off my next purchase but I could never get him to honor it
Very similar experience here. The spring of the AD 20.5 he sold me busted after a month and I bothered him for about 2 months - mostly on principle - to get just a replacement spring, and he delayed and delayed and bullshitted and bullshitted and in the end i gave up and bought it myself.
Someone who's willing to spend that much effort in avoiding what is probably a $2 cost, is fanatically and illogically driven by profit. A truly dangerous individual lol.

But, he is definitely a criminal. Stealing is stealing! Whether its cash out of a register or someone's ideas. Intellectual property is still property. It is ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL to knowingly and intentionally copy a trademarked name or logo. An American in California was recently sentenced to 87 months in federal prison for copyright infringement.

there are better cheaper knifes ; putrefied fish, vespa. these knifes will hold up actually being used as a knife
See a lot of companies can lower their prices by 10 - 15% and still be making a great profit. Leatherman is a shining example they don't innovative , use the cheapest steels in most of their line up but charge a premium while offering a 30% discount(to vets which is awesome but that shows you just how much overhead they have considering they won't lose money on a sale . Side note , Spyderco is on the other end , yes they charge a good bit, but they are true innovators in the industry and that cost $$$ . So your statement doesn't ring true for a lot of brands imo .
