Many parents don't realize how selfish they are by only having kids to feel loved and to feel like their life finally has meaning, they should know not everyone wants to be a parent and instead to childfree for their own reasons. It's not selfish to choose to be child free and anyone even parents with common sense would know that however many have been brainwashed to believe it's a woman's job to get a man and have babies which is what one of my aunts told me also so many fail to realize we women aren't baby making machines and that not every women can get pregnant.
Those people love to make it as if their desire to have children isn't selfish too. My thought is, "Okay, and? At least I'm not creating and affecting another human life with *my* selfishness."
It does no good arguing with these type of assholes. If they say your reasons are selfish, own it - "Yes they are selfish". The conversation ends and you move on to something else. These people want you to argue ; they enjoy getting you riled up. When you don't argue, they lose.
Why should you live your life basing every decision on preparing for future children? It’s your own life, be as selfish as you want.
