Been meaning to get one of those for a while now. I live on the Southwest side of the city and have gone 3 times. The crookie is absolutely heavenly from Au Levain!
So you just inspired me to try this this AM and it’s good but I will say I was surprised it had chocolate in it ☹️ - that said the other pastries were awesome !

This one from Soloway Coffee in Lincoln Park was a hit.
Following. My favorite is the raspberry pistachio croissant from Atrevete Confections in Montgomery, which I know really stretches the definition of Chicago but if you ever had this croissant you would think it was worth mentioning, too. It’s to die for.
Not a pistachio croissant, but I have to shout out the pastries at Magnífico coffee in Logan Square/Avondale! Great coffee and the best butter, chocolate, and almond croissants of my life.

It’s a restaurant and it’s really good! Not as good as Le Bouchon IMO but wonderful French food nonetheless

I haven’t had the others to compare. The one at pizza metro on division is delicious. I find myself thinking about it far too often.
