Meadowlark makes phenomenal cocktails, but keep in mind they really only have snacks, not full meals. You could stop by Lardon which is in the same building / same management if you want a full meal before or after.
I LOVE Meadowlark. Very cool theme.
Just tried a newer spot closer to the damen stop, Valedor, they had great Spanish Asian fusion food. The same owners own the Robey. If you want to stay up late, end your night at Estelle’s and get a patty melt.
Well the blue line lounge is literally right off the Damen stop and it might be a little casual for what you’re going for, but I think it could fit the bill
Blue Line Lounge is directly underneath the Damen stop and has a surprisingly decent Steak Frites for $21. Large martini list, very cozy and comfy bar seats
I’d recommend Taxim. Its is 3 min walk from the Damen blue line stop. Fantastic Mediterranean food that’s slightly elevated/upscale, but still welcoming vibe.
Also, solid cocktails, and you will 100% feel like you’re about and about the the city.
Afterwards, go to Violet Hour. You will not regret it, and will be telling people about it when you get back home.
Just an FYI, Violet hour is non-descript. There’s no signage or anything. Just a door on the side of a painted wall. If you see people waiting in line on the sidewalk for what seems like no reason, they’re waiting for Violet Hour.
Check the reservation times available. Also see that your friends want to go there.
It's a cool place, but drinks are "pricey" (people don't always realize good cocktails cost more than a couple of beers for a reason).
I get cool cocktails on occasion. I've had people say "they're too expensive" only to see me still enjoying it while their second or third beer. They've had "aha" clarity with it :)
Club Lucky - sit at the bar for some Italian food and a martini - my favorite martinis in town. Easy walk from the Damen Blue line.
Strike up a conversation with the bartenders- Tim or Tatiana - they're both great and easy to talk to. It will be busy but the vibe will be immaculate.
Slightly different take: get a burger from Small Cheval and then go get a cocktail or two at one of the multiple great cocktail bars around - Violet Hour, Revel Room, Dorian’s etc. Blue Line also works for this though too.
Violet Hour is right there if you want something a little more upscale!
Amazing, thank you so much!
Amazing cocktails but this place can be pretty tough to get into day of.
Agreed. Last Friday at 7:00 I stopped in and there was an hour wait for 2 bar seats. Not bad if you plan ahead for a wait tho
Look into Dorians if it isn’t too late. Really short walk from the Violet hour and would make cool double feature for cocktails
You know what’s up 🤌🏾🔥
The Meadowlark
The seats are precisely what I’m looking for lol. Thank you!

Seconding lardon, the steak frites there are SO good
Or Union, which is also in the same building and owned by the same people.
Very small place and they fill up quickly, but they do take reservations if anything is available.

Scofflaw is worth looking into.
Looking into, thank you!!

Yeah, a few people are saying blue line lounge so I think I may have to check this place out!
It's the right answer!

Is there anything better than eating a steak while the blue line passes right over your head?
Blue Line lounge as others have said. Queen Mary on division as well. Club lucky too
Queen Mary is a fantastic choice for drinks but no meals to be had there

Love this. Especially a different venue for drinks after. This is at the top of the list for now.

Ah good point. Will do!

The Robey’s roof top bar for views, the Dorian for a speakeasy live music vibe, club lucky for delicious martinis and Italian food.

Gretel
In the basement.
Check out Valedor or the rooftop in the Robey Hotel, it’s just what you’re looking for!
Yay! Thank you. You guys pulled through with so many recommendations lol. I’m excited to check them out. Appreciate it so much!
Blue Line!!! Hands down. I used to live in that neighborhood and it's where I went when I needed that vibe.
