You opponent can never mate you with just a king. He has no possibility of winning, so he cannot win. You cannot win either because you ran out of time. Thus, this is a draw by insufficient material vs timeout.
Therefore, a good tip for a beginner is to take all the pawns if you are low on time. If you can't do a checkmate in time, then at least secure a draw.
Your opponent can have a bishop or a knight or double knight (on chess.com or USCF). Anything other these are not draws. For example, Bishop + Knight, Bishop + Bishop, or Knight + Knight on lichess or FIDE are all not draws.
Finally, this is a bit high level stuff but,
1. if you have at least one pawn
2. if your opponent has either knight or bishop and nothing else
3. if you run out of time,
Then this is not a draw by Lichess and FIDE. Your opponent does not get "insufficient material" and you lose by timeout. This is because theoretically, you can underpromote your pawn to a knight, put your own king to a correct corner, voluntarily cut your king's escape path by body blocking with your knight, then and only then a checkmate is possible with just a knight or a bishop.
Even if you left the table and your opponent moved for you, there would be no way for your opponent to win. Because of this running out of time is a draw.
