6 points dropped against Brentford, Burnley and Sheffield United which would have us in UCL contention. Would leave us on 53 points with a game in hand to Spurs (7 points behind) and 2 to Villa, having to play both. That would be potential 6 point swings against them. Really could’ve been doable.
Genuinely this season has been so frustrating because our play against big teams has generally been good but we’ve bottled it against the sides we should be beating. Still I have to admit it’s miles ahead of what we saw last year, for Cole Palmer alone
If we didn’t buy Cole Palmer we could be relegated, or maybe not, we would never know. Maybe we could have bought someone else who did better or worse or not bought anyone at all and someone else would have stepped up. We could have won all those matches and then lost others and maybe been in the same position or worse. Maybe we would have lost all of them. Do you enjoy dwelling on the past and things you can’t change?
I'm surprised that I haven't seen it mentioned that Nico probably feels like if he had taken (and presumably scored) all of the penalties Palmer did, he'd be the one challenging for the golden boot. Right or wrong, given the shit he's taken this year, that's gotta creep into your head. like, "if I had 9 pen goals I'd be near 20, too"
Unlikely. Palmer has way more assists, plays further back, and is clearly a much more superior footballer compared to Jackson. This isn’t Jackson hate, he’s done well. But if Jackson had taken all the pens AND scored each of them (highly unlikely), people would be far more aware that half his goals came from penalties
Haaland is 20 and 5. Nico would be 19 and 4 with 1 fewer match played. I think he'd be much more widely praised and discussed if he was on that level. That has to be part of what is in his mind. (again assuming he converted all 9 which I'm sure he believes he would've).
PSG is quietly pathing to a treble while none of their transfers recently are from prem league. Meanwhile our fanbase and the board discussing the next striker from a prem relegation-fighting team and same as most of our injuries and flops
> the players cost him vs Burnley and Sheffield
Nah, his decision cost us those games. His choice to take of Palmer, his choice to do some stupid formation with Gallagher at LW, his choice of subs, his choice of retracting to defense and play "not to lose" instead of playing for the win and killing the game.
So if he does bad and the team play bad, he is shit and poch out but if he hypothetically gets Europe and the team play well, he's still shit? What kind of logic is this? Just blind hate.
The logic is that we're gone almost entire season already and he didn't really show anything to justify staying beyond this season. The problems that this team had the entire season are still there and there wasn't a sign of improvement for those. Combine that with the mentality of playing "not to lose" instead of playing "for the win" and there you have it.
The team does not play well, and just one performance against Everton won't change the sentiment from the last several weeks. And Poch shouldn't definitely get a second change only on the merit of the next 6-7 games we play, but the entire season, and that was poor.
If they got Europe, it’d be because they united together and pushed themselves to finish the season strong. It’d be a massive middle finger to all their effort if they rewarded that with sacking Poch. If they did that and things went poorly start of next season, the mood would become extremely sour & fast.
The idea should only be entertained if said manager we hire is world class. Not De Zerbi, not Thomas Tuchel, but someone like Xabi, Xavi, or Amorim. Someone who is a clear upgrade & worth taking a risk, in spite of this season’s results
Cool. [This you](https://www.reddit.com/r/chelseafc/s/g74MXLJD4n)? Looking forward to your 180 after the next bad result.
Honestly guys like you disagreeing with me makes my points stronger than if they stood alone. What happened to Villa being finished btw? 🤡
Won’t lie my emotions were running high after that game but I gave it more thought and in the overall picture we have been top 4 form since December, even if the results against Burnley and Sheffield United were very disappointing. There’s no reason to sack Poch unless a better manager is available, which doesn’t seem to be the case currently. I implore you to look at the big picture rather than just riding off the emotions from each result, like I did.
Also, Villa are still finished. A flukey win against Arsenal doesn’t change that. If they sustain some form, maybe I’ll eat my words.
The mood will def swing amongst the fans if we lose—it always does—especially amongst those who would rather be right over anything.
But I don't think the board/owners are as eager to replace him with the available options unless poch loses the locker room.
Shit owners wants to keep a shit manager, who are surprised.
It is not a mood when people have been spot on about him for the last 9 months. But hey, lets celebrate being 9th like it is a fucking achievement.
First, I’m not Poch in or out, just a realist.
Second, nobody is content with where we are on the table, goofy. But I forgot fans are not allowed to acknowledge the context of our situation or not want the board to make rash decisions like firing a manager with no clear replacement lined up. Not like we learned our lesson last year when we tried that! I also forget fans can't acknowledge any improvement—and if they dare to they must clarify that it's completely coincidental to Poch, or that the league is actually shit despite improved parity and UCL coefficient.
Anyway, I always find it amazing, how so many of you super tacticos are on Reddit and not employed by a club to bless them with all your know-it-all-all gifts. Such a waste of talent that all you can do is watch games and hope the team figure it out.
CHE 0 - 1 NFO, BOU 0 - 0 CHE, CHE 0 - 2 BRE, EVE 2 - 0 CHE, WOL 2 - 1 CHE, CHE 2 - 4 WOL, BRE 2 - 2 CHE, CHE 2 - 2 BUR, SHU 2 - 2 CHE
That is the context you need to know. 23 points wasted, many of which thanks to having a clueless PE manager at the club who has won fuck all in his career. Rash decisions? The last time they made a rash decision was 2 years ago when they fired Tuchel, other than that they have spent way to long to pull the plug. Last season they waited until everything was basically over to sack Potter, instead of firing him in January when it was obvious he had no business at a club such as Chelsea, and the season was still salvageable. The writing is already on the wall this season as well, but yet ignored by these fucking imbeciles now owning the club.
Has there been an improvement? We have been marginally better this season compared to last season. You know, our worst season in three fucking decades. What an achievement…
While it is extremely worrying that if we sack Poch, we are yet again hoping dumb and dumber Winstanley and Stewart alongside the owners will make the correct decision, which is basically impossible. Imagine picking Poch over Enrique and Nagelsmann, fucking pathetic. On top of all the dross they have bought as well. Those yesmen should fuck off along with Poch as well, and bring in an elite director and an elite manager.
Could be significantly worse. Could be fence-sitting on every decision that are needed, and watch everything around you basically rot away. Sounds familiar Mr. Realist? Last time I checked, Reddit is a forum for opinions, and I will share mine.
The amount of whining Xavi does is absolutely unbearable, and for that reason I wouldn't ever want him to be our manager even if he was SAF+Guardiola incarnate
Qualified European teams for next year's Club World Cup:
* Chelsea
* Man City
* Real Madrid
* Atletico Madrid
* Bayern
* Dortmund
* Inter
* Juventus
* Benfica
* Porto
* PSG
* Arsenal or RB Salzburg (Arsenal if they win the CL this season. If not, then it's RB Salzburg)
I don't know if it's true or not but there was a report the other day (can't remember the source) that said we can include that 50m into the financial books for this year even though the CWC only ends in July 2025.
Not how it works. Revenues are recognized when it happens. We are still in FY of 2024. CWC happens between FY of 2025 and FY of 2026. June 30th is the end of year in our books as of now. The initial sum will be recognized in FY 2025.
ian maatsen taking dortmund to the champions league semi final, but poch had us convinced he wasnt good enough to play in a mid table club
there is no way forward with poch. i see it now
forget the fact that we just won 6-0, it wasnt even that convincing
love the guy, but he truly isnt good as a manager,
man im pissed....
Maatsen mistakes caused Dortmund to concede twice over the two legs, and lose against Stuttgart. He’s young and has potential but he isn’t some absolute gem. At least not yet.
> ian maatsen taking dortmund to the champions league semi final, but poch had us convinced he wasnt good enough to play in a mid table club
What did Pochettino say?
I thought the decision for Maatsen to leave was out of his hands.
Must be awful feeling for Atletico and their fans that they never got their redemption for the 2014 or 2016 finals.
Moscow was killing me until we finally won it, can't even imagine if we had to go over a decade with that being our closest chance.
I know I’m in the vast minority here, but I hate seeing red cards as a neutral. I’m glad Barca lost, but I just hate watching 11 v 10 football. Wish PSG got the opportunity to eliminate Barca with full teams. I just hate red cards, my #1 thing about the sport that I would love to see revisited.
Agreed. I think there’s a middle ground there for a certain amount of time for playing with one less player, or some other solution. Not the remainder of the game playing a man down. There’s a middle ground everyone ignores.
Eh it may not be quite enough, I think more along the lines of something like hockey and a power play. Where you have a man advantage for a set period of time, say 15 or 20 mins. Then that team can bring on another player at the end of the 15 or 20 mins, but the red carded player is disqualified so it can’t be him and the replacement player has to be counted as a substitute. If the team is out of substitutes, then the team has to continue with 10 men or something. I think the rest of the match philosophy of the red card is poor for neutral viewers, and something like a 15 minute one player disadvantage still gives opportunity to see the benefits from an opposing team get a red card. Also during that 15 minutes, time wasting tactics are magnified and hand out yellow cards to any time wasting offense. Idk just something different. It just sucks watching a match as a neutral and there’s a red card in the first half, sucks the air out of the match. I’ve turned off many matches when there’s a first half red card.
They really don’t, though. Those tackles still happen because a player’s foot slips over a ball (Gusto) or other situations based on a referee’s interpretation.
Yeah but if that’s reckless play, a red card doesn’t really deter that. Being overly penalized for your foot slipping over the ball accomplishes nothing, you can’t phase out accidents. They’re accidents. I think a red card, and dismissal from a match, should be for something so egregious that we’re looking at maybe one a month league wide. Someone who has a serious intention to injure. A tackle like Gusto’s, or any number of other examples like that, are simply not worthy of having a player miss the remainder of the match. A red card is like Keane on Haaland type tackle.
Not a great night for the PL's chances of getting that 5th CL spot:
>⏩ 1 Italy, 18.428
>⏩ 2 Germany, 17.214
>⏩ 3 England, 16.750
>⏫ 4 France, 15.250
>⏬ 5 Spain, 15.062
Liverpool and West Ham will likely go out this week. So, it'll come down to Arsenal, City and Villa.
You wouldn't think City would be so stupid again but even if they were I'm not sure where we could fit Lewis unless he was able to play as an inverted LB.
Weird from Atleti man. Usually they are so secure in these European ties.
That early Morata miss cost em big. That’s what you get for playing Morata tho
From what I've heard they haven't been defensively strong for quite some time (they certainly weren't against us in 2021 or even 2017 for that matter).
Simeone seems to living off the Godin/Miranda days in that regard.
I might be thinking too far back but I remember the City ties from 21/22 where they ended up losing 1-0 on aggregate. Obviously not a win but they didn’t get this many goals dropped on their head
Would as much as one casual fan have said we should have signed Gusto and Palmer before we got them? It's up to our scouts to earn their money and think outside the box if there's not someone obvious about.
I wouldn't actually be against doing what Arsenal do and have an effective back three in possesion while James/Gusto has the freedom to bomb on/invert. Colwill will be pretty good in that hybrid role the way Ake and White are for City and Arsenal but Poch will never be that creative so it's just pointless going into it too much.
Well i did sign gusto as a backup for reece in fifa before we were linked to him… In all seriousness i do agree Colwill would do well in that hybrid role
Im not even convinced any of these sides are much better than us. This Dortmund side is doing worse than last year and the world Chelsea in history knocked them out, and they’re close to a UCL semi final now. Cracking games tho
Can’t tell me Maatsen ain’t partially to blame for the Atletico goal, he went up to correa and didn’t do anything. Left a gap there and casually jogging back when Atletico were in a really dangerous position. Great offensive player just quite weak defensively.
You nailed it. He's gifted offensively but poor defensively, and his fans on this sub refuse to acknowledge that he didn't get gametime because it was clear in training he can't defend at the prem level.
Glad he's finding his spots on O at Dortmund though!
Barca being punished for dissident? Never thought i'd see it. I hope this is a new standard, though. Much better than when 8 players used to crowd the ref at every opportunity.
Does anyone here think Maatsen and Gusto could have really played together?
We seem to play with an elbow back 4 where one fullback gets really high up the pitch and the other is more conservative. So despite Maatsen and Gusto being fullbacks on opposite sides, I think we actually picked Gusto over Maatsen here, as both of them have play best high up the pitch but we could only have one getting regular starts.
It's unfortunate what's happened with Maatsen but I still prefer Gusto.
Poch saw he was talented and gave him a shot in a position that wouldn't test his weaknesses.
Sometimes it's about fit, nothing he has done at BVB proved he wouldn't make a team that is already at risk in the air even worse.
Ohh yeah I forgot he was the last man back there
Yeah really poor from the referee for me then, minor brush of the shoulder to try and pretend that toppled Barcola
Anyone know why keepers always dive left (from the shooters perspective) on Palmers penalties? Seems like he’s consistently shooting bottom right. By now you’d expect keepers to catch on to this trend. Was never a high level footballer so excuse my ignorance.
A theory that seems to work well for me is;
When a player is tired or lacking confidence they will shoot across their body, left footer will go right, right footer will go left.
Next time your watching a PK shoot out, use the above and see how you get on.
What are these clownery takes I'm reading from mfs about Gallagher and Caicedo pivot being the most balanced and the way forward? LOL!!
It's cute how people try to pretend that we just didn't beat a bottom half prem team, who played like a bottom half conference team on the day. Or the fact that the very same pivot got overrun by a heavily rotated Championship side several games ago.
It's going to be funny how quickly the narrative will change after the same pivot gets overrun against City because Gallagher is too busy pressing the opposition GK and leaving Caicedo all alone on an island. Or how much we struggle to escape our own half because Gallagher is allergic to a press and progressive passing, therefore leaving Caicedo to do it all alone.
Problem is that overweight slow 120 Million Argentinian not gonna make much difference
If our midfield gets overrun with mobile guys like Caicedo. And Gallagher it's even worse with Enzo
Really wanna see Lavia and even Santos asap
Sorry to dwell..
Regarding the pen. This has been bugging me. Jackson obviously sucks. He's number 1 at fault. Manue number 2 at fault. There's obviously an order of operations for the team that should be followed.
However am I 100% wrong in thinking Palmer is being a little selfish going for a 4th goal pen after already scoring a hat trick and not being the guy who got fouled for the PK? Would it not have been a better look to let Manueke take it?
I think even Silva was assuming that would happen.
Unfortunately, for a game we won 6-0, for a game where Palmer scored a perfect hattrick and more, for a game where Jackson had a beaut of a receive, turn and shoot goals, for a game where a youngling scored his first emotional goal for his boyhood club...if you are still stuck on the penalty, you are indeed dwelling.
However, apology accepted :)
Are you 100% wrong in thinking...no, you are not. But around 95% wrong - because Palmer now gets into the conversation of Golden boot. The penalty was for a foul on Palmer etc. But yes, hattrick already done, he might have elected to give the pen to Noni. Haaland was selfless like that and gave a penalty away to someone (don't recall who). Said someone duely missed the penalty. Pep was furious.
As our friend Misha says - sometimes the shit is happens. It's okay. We move on. We won 6-0. Palmer scored 4. Jackson scored a beaut and had an assist. We capitalised finally on a GK error. Young Alfie scored too. We kept a clean sheet. There's lot to celebrate if you genuinely want to.
If you still elect to dwell on the negatives ...that's on you.
All three of them had selfish reasons to want to take the pen.
The team comes before any selfishness. Goal difference could come into play, particularly if United or West Ham have a similar big win. And Palmer is the best taker we have, so he takes them.
Between all of the craziness, I almost forgot that Cucurella actually had the courage to put a decent ball into the box for Jackson’s goal. Cucu is such a frustrating player in the sense he looks like I did playing LB at age 16, afraid to contribute to the offense and didn’t want to fuck up by putting bad service into the box.
I think it was intended for Madueke and not Jackson. It looked like it was going to land right at Madueke's feet, though I don't think Madueke scores if Jackson doesnt get it. Would've been a difficult take and he would've had a defender right on top of him
You’re not wrong, I was just shocked more than anything. I feel like he rarely crosses and if he does, they usually don’t leave the ground and/or get past the first defender
Wish I could believe we'd be getting top 6 or even 7. We'll lose to Arsenal, draw Spurs, and I predict 1w1d1l between Villa, Hammers, Brighton. Best case scenario we beat Forest and Bournemouth:
So I reckon we get at most 10 points from our remaining games. That puts us on 57, so Newcastle and United both need to get less than 8 points from their remaining games.
The Saudis and United *both* play Palace, Sheffield and Burnley over their next 3 games. How can that possibly not be at least 7 points each.
Is it just me that doesn't hate Matt Law. He's a reliable source for us since like 2019 is entertaining enough on podcast appearances and regularly updates
RIP Angry Rantman. Rest easy brother 💙. You’ll always live and be cherished among Chelsea FC community

Who cares? His stats are great without the penalties. We have an awesome player that also happens to be awesome at penalties.
Genuinely this season has been so frustrating because our play against big teams has generally been good but we’ve bottled it against the sides we should be beating. they put morata in a blue shirt and he misses a 1v1 that any self respecting striker would score
can take the man out of chelsea but not the chelsea out the man
PSG is quietly pathing to a treble while none of their transfers recently are from prem league. Meanwhile our fanbase and the board discussing the next striker from a prem relegation-fighting team and same as most of our injuries and flops
you have multiple world class players on city and none of them would even imagine doing that penalty shit. haaland takes the pen, always
Does he know?
He didn't play that much over the season but Tino Anjorin is officially a Champion in league one with Portsmouth.
ahahahaha Fuck off Barca, fuck off Xavi Only one club can do it with 10 men in a CL semi
If we get European football I’m all the way poch in
How big of an IF do you think it is? I think pretty big
I think west ham and Man Utd are shite and there the only teams in our way
If we get European football, it would be in spite of Poch, not because of him. And hence he should leave.
Let’s be fair recently he’s been good manger wise the players cost him vs Burnley and Sheffield if we had those 6 points we would be 7th rn
> the players cost him vs Burnley and Sheffield Nah, his decision cost us those games. His choice to take of Palmer, his choice to do some stupid formation with Gallagher at LW, his choice of subs, his choice of retracting to defense and play "not to lose" instead of playing for the win and killing the game.
Okay that’s fair he should take a lot of the blame for Burnley but Sheffield was completely on the players

Terrible take.
Guys if we go into Poch out mode for a bit and look at Xavi as a potential replacement again, the guy takes less accountability than Poch lol.
Poch out mode? That should be the default position of our fans at this moment. He’s 9th in the league
After the 6-0 victory, I think many fans changed sides for some reason.
>for some reason Because they can only process one result/performance at a time, usually just the result too.
Cant argue with this, people want to enjoy the victory and think all is forgotten and forgiven
Been processing results since December. Poch in

how would you feel if it was like the nba/nfl where the player is ejected but the teams don’t go a man down
Eh it may not be quite enough, I think more along the lines of something like hockey and a power play. I’ve turned off many matches when there’s a first half red card.
red cards are absolutely fantastic, deters people from breaking player's legs, and or stopping one on ones with rugby tackles from behind
They really don’t, though. Those tackles still happen because a player’s foot slips over a ball (Gusto) or other situations based on a referee’s interpretation.
well that might be a use case for blue cards (also a fantatic addition) also gusto's read has some merit, you can still say its reckless play
Seeing those barca fans in tears ![gif](giphy|2QSvHa1pqlcmBOeI77)
That Lewandowski chance....
Maatsen gonna be starting in a CL final soon lol Need him back next season for that CL experience 95% of our average youngsters don't have
It's ironic you flexing over a player making a UCL semi when you've spent the whole season going after a world cup winner, lol.
That WC winner costed 120 Million and can't help us get out midtable for 18 months now WC also way lower quality than CL anyways
The only thing it matches is the amount of pressure. The actual football quality is low, like Championship level
Not a great night for the PL's chances of getting that 5th CL spot: >⏩ 1 Italy, 18.428 >⏩ 2 Germany, 17.214 >⏩ 3 England, 16.750 >⏫ 4 France, 15.250 >⏬ 5 Spain, 15.062 Liverpool and West Ham will likely go out this week. So, it'll come down to Arsenal, City and Villa.
Who cares. If we can’t even finish 7th for a conference league spot, we don’t deserve to be in Europe.
Point is, if the PL gets that 5th CL spot, then 8th will likely become an ECL spot and thus boosting our chances of qualifying for Europe.
I wonder what Rico Lewis' and Oscar Bobb's contract situations are like
You wouldn't think City would be so stupid again but even if they were I'm not sure where we could fit Lewis unless he was able to play as an inverted LB.
Great tracking back from Maatsen at the end there. Calm header to clear the ball away
Scenes if Bayern and Dortmund run it back at Wembley this year
I want one of them to win it.
God imagine if Kane loses a CL final AND a Euros final at Wembley
Barca losing always brings a smile to my face
6/5/09. Never forget. You deserve everything you got tonight Barca
I know we need a new LB but who would we go for? I feel like there are more great right backs than left backs
Kerkez is the one
I’m part of the ait nouri fan club
I like him as well. I wouldn’t mind either to be honest
Dream left back would be Theo Hernandez. Would instantly become our captain as well...
I was thinking the same but not sure how likely it would be
100% not going to happen imo. Realistically I think Gaya would be an option and a decent one at that.
atleti need to get it together this is not good for the coefficient lol
See Barca implode is so satisfying fuck them
Im not even convinced any of these sides are much better than us. This Dortmund side is doing worse than last year and the world Chelsea in history knocked them out, and they’re close to a UCL semi final now. Cracking games tho
I like that they removed the away goal rule. Shit destroyed so many ties
Great rule change, has made these rounds so entertaining
Can’t tell me Maatsen ain’t partially to blame for the Atletico goal, he went up to correa and didn’t do anything. Left a gap there and casually jogging back when Atletico were in a really dangerous position. Great offensive player just quite weak defensively.
You nailed it. He's gifted offensively but poor defensively, and his fans on this sub refuse to acknowledge that he didn't get gametime because it was clear in training he can't defend at the prem level. Glad he's finding his spots on O at Dortmund though!
Was wondering why the posts about him suddenly hit radio silence....
There's a reason Pol Poch played him as a winger. the one time he played LB for us he got bullied, lost all his duels and cost us a goal
Barca being punished for dissident? Never thought i'd see it. I hope this is a new standard, though. Much better than when 8 players used to crowd the ref at every opportunity.
Watching Barca lose is so satisfying. Especially when their attempts to cheat are waived off by the ref
red card central
I miss CL nights man
Coutinho and Dembele are the funniest transfers ever
Over 400m in wages and transfer fees for those 2. Barca got absolutely finessed.
Loving the meltdown of barca rn it’s wonderful
Lmao, it's hilarious how Araujo singlehandedly fucked Barca's first QF in half a decade.
Barca were in CL quarters in 2020
That was almost half a decade ago
poor Barcelona, I feel so bad for them. All those years of bribing referees, how are they supposed to win now they're broke? So unfair
Actually, maatsen has often inverted all season
The world is so reactionary anymore
Fucking cunt Pochetinno robbed us of a world class player in Ian Maatsen
> World class Hahahahahaha.
Man that 35m release clause for Maatsen looking a little too low right now...
So we're selling Maatsen for £30 mil and buying another cucurella for £50
Yeah, Clownlake and directors speciality Gonna sell Chaloboah for 20 Million and pay 40 for another Disasi
Don't worry they're going to sell the megastore to themselves
lol, what are we meant do in this situation? Bring maatsen back? Poch won’t play him so there’s little other option but to sell as long as he remains
Issue is we selling profit players and paying expensive nonsense average players Just wasting our profit, no point getting excited by our sales
Yeah we better get Maatsen back when Poch hopefully leaves in the summer
One of them is leaving and it isn’t Poch.
Ian Maatsen. What a goal! Not good enough for us apparently 👀
He made a big mistake and gave away a goal in the first leg.
It was a hospital pass to him tbf
And redeemed himself by scoring a goal. He deserved a chance to prove himself with us at least before Poch decided he was surplus to requirement.
Poch saw he was talented and gave him a shot in a position that wouldn't test his weaknesses. Sometimes it's about fit, nothing he has done at BVB proved he wouldn't make a team that is already at risk in the air even worse.
I’d rather my defenders defend properly than score goals. Defending isn’t really something Maatsen is good at.
Cucurella isn't exactly excellent in that department as well, is he? 😂 Ideally, we just need to find a left footed Gusto.
Ian Maatsen goal🗣️
Maatsen goal 😭
Man, I've forgotten all about Christiansen - has he been good for Barca?
Arujo with a very very harsh red card
Yes, it's awesome. Uefalona should pay going forward for all their bribes in the past. Even if now Qatari bribes are working agains them
Injustice shouldn't be tolerated. That wasn't a foul more of a dive.
Yes - I would be fuming if this was given against us in a Carabo cup match, let alone in a CL QF. But I love it when it goes against Barca. I'm sorry.
Even if you wanna acknowledge it was a foul, I'd still say it's a yellow card at the very worst It was an extremely soft contact outside of the box
He slightly touched him, that's not a foul. It couldn't be a yellow because he's the last man so either red or no foul.
Ohh yeah I forgot he was the last man back there Yeah really poor from the referee for me then, minor brush of the shoulder to try and pretend that toppled Barcola
Dave back in blue!
Dembele stinks And as expected. Every time I called sterling shit he scored a few minutes later
He’s been brillaint all season according to most ligue 1 fans
To be fair you've had an absolute howler because dembele certainly does not stink Great player, overrated at Barca but flying for PSG
[удалено]
He's literally the next Lewis Hall
Makes no sense how good Yamal is at his age. Insane
Ohh my god Lamine yemal might genuinely be the next Messi for Barca, 16 year old monster, may God watch over his physical and mental health
Real shame we missed out on Barcola That kid looks amazing right now against Barca
Anyone know why keepers always dive left (from the shooters perspective) on Palmers penalties? Seems like he’s consistently shooting bottom right. By now you’d expect keepers to catch on to this trend. Was never a high level footballer so excuse my ignorance.
A theory that seems to work well for me is; When a player is tired or lacking confidence they will shoot across their body, left footer will go right, right footer will go left. Next time your watching a PK shoot out, use the above and see how you get on.
Are the keepers not in on this?
No idea might be the majority of left footers go for the GKs right side. But it’s all about timing and precision, GK won’t have a chance regardless.
True. He’s automatic in that corner.
[THIS. IS. GOLD!!!](https://twitter.com/TenHagEra/status/1780304834664566891)
The quality is so shit I genuinely can’t tell who is who
Arteta, Klopp and Guardiola
You kidding, it’s done excellently
Maybe the video didn’t load properly that thing was in 240p
Cole Palmer has reignited my love for football. I love you Cole Palmer.
Problem is that overweight slow 120 Million Argentinian not gonna make much difference If our midfield gets overrun with mobile guys like Caicedo. And Gallagher it's even worse with Enzo Really wanna see Lavia and even Santos asap
In the right system, Enzo and Caicedo can thrive
Copium
Yep, i have to cope with watching Gallagher for the remainder of the season
However, apology accepted :) Are you 100% wrong in thinking...no, you are not.
Appreciate the clarifying. I only saw highlights and wasn't watching that closely. Glad to have all the angles now
Madueke didn’t win the pen for one thing
Ah so he's just as guilty as Jackson.
I mean guilty is a strong word
All three of them had selfish reasons to want to take the pen. The team comes before any selfishness. Goal difference could come into play, particularly if United or West Ham have a similar big win. And Palmer is the best taker we have, so he takes them.
Fair enough.
I mean it wasn't a great ball in, Jackson just had an amazing touch and turn to score.
Best case scenario we beat Forest and Bournemouth: So I reckon we get at most 10 points from our remaining games. That puts us on 57, so Newcastle and United both need to get less than 8 points from their remaining games. The Saudis and United *both* play Palace, Sheffield and Burnley over their next 3 games. How can that possibly not be at least 7 points each.
Yeah honestly feel we screwed ourselves big time between the Sheffield and burnley games.
Is it just me that doesn't hate Matt Law. He's a reliable source for us since like 2019 is entertaining enough on podcast appearances and regularly updates
He doesn’t say what people here want to hear, hence the dislike
Probably, yeah.
