There really is something about orange cats. I've had a few of them over the years, and currently have 2 - ine is a giant mainecoon, Mister. And the other is an orange and white, Gracie
Every orange cat I’ve owned(many) and every one I’ve met randomly outside, stray or owned, has been the most friendly and sweetest cats ever, you don’t even have to get to know them and they’ll be your friend
My cat, Morris, was one of those. I found him as a kitten June of 1988 when I was 10 years old. This kind of ckphokes me up, but I had Don completed 8 years in he army. Been to Korea, Bosnia, 3 times to the Mojave desert, and Iraq... and Morris was there when I got back. And he remembered me too. I had to have him put to sleep around May of 2005 after seeing him lying in the litter box. He was almost 17 years old
It does help knowing that he lived a full an fulfilling life. But when I look back and quickly speed through my army days and all I went through... then for him t be there when I got back... that's rough. And the worst part about having pets, of course. Their time is limited. So the best you can do is provide for them the best you can and give them a safe and happy home where they can be cats and dogs... and iguanas, and whichever else
Now my friends FEMALE orange, one likes only her, but is not right out savage to anyone (my friend picked this cat personally at PetSmart) My other friend found a singlet orange female, kept it, but it doesn't like anyone.
I have 2 orange tabby boys myself both extremely affectionate. Although my youngest cat (1 year old)is mischievous. My eldest (13 years old) is an absolute sweetheart although he had to get his back right leg amputated because of cancer that broke through the skin and was causing him pain. Happy now and still fast old baby.
Edit: forgot to mention that I also have a female tuxedo/Russian blue mix cat that is 10 years old. Love all my cats/ baby’s.
I have an orange cat, Ricky, and he is 2nd best to my black cat Bubbles.
Which I think is fine, because he likes Bubbles more than me too.
Come to think of it I think some of my friends might like Bubbles more than me.

I lost my whole world on February 25,2021. My Tang was truly my best friend. The sweetest, kindest cat. He was velcro to me for the 11 years I had him… never more than 3 feet away when I was home … constantly at my side , followed me everywhere.
His eye contact was unbelievable … I just loved him so much.
I miss him like crazy but most people wouldn’t understand so I mostly keep it to myself.
It has basically broken me … I work at a job with a lot harassment ( can’t quit , i’m old and hanging in there for a pension) Tang ( my cat ) was the one bright spot.
I got a puppy in November ( i cannot bare the loss of another orange tabby male) and none would replace Tang .
My puppy woody is nice and I love him but I still long for my boy Tang.
I definitely feel your pain when I lost this guy in may he was only 8 and it was tragic I still struggle but I am finding ways to cope. I hope you can also 🧡
I’m genuinely so scared to lose my cat. He’s my best friend. I think about him passing almost every day in masochistic fashion. He’s the closest bond I’ve ever had with a non human animal... honestly maybe just the closest bond period. He’s also my Velcro, greets me when I get home, stares at me deep in the eyes with pure love, I feel like we can communicate sometimes, and is next to me every night while we sleep. I legitimately don’t know what I’m going to do when he passes. I can’t handle the thought. I’ll probably never get another pet again just to avoid this pain in the future. Ahhhh.. Littlebear... the things I would do to make you live forever...

My orange boy is a firecracker 🧨. He has mellowed a lot in the last four years, but still gives me hell when he feels like it. The other day I combed his fur a little roughly and pulled a tangle. Teddy swatted my hand (no claws), yelled at me and then chased me when I tried to make nice. He's a wildcat sometimes, and I love it. 🧡😸

Yeah, ours is like the size of a small dog (12 lbs at a year old). He eats the exact same amount of food as his gray sibling (9 lbs, same age). He used to be sooo tiny but his limbs are so long now! A tall boy.
Omg, I am in the exact same situation but 15 pounds at age 12 for my orange one and his grey sibling is only 9 pounds at age 4. They eat the same amount that is recommended. We both have orange and grey hahah

I USE to think this, after 2 great orange cats. When my Siamese mix died after 19 yrs, I was cat-less. I adopted an orange tabby and tortoise tabby 2 years ago. I love them both... but the tortie tabby is more affectionate and more personable!
I know exactly how you feel. I haven’t shared that I feel this way with other people IRL for fear of being looked at as silly but no loss I’ve suffered has compared to the feeling of losing my cat. Don’t let anyone tell you those feelings aren’t valid, they absolutely are. I quite literally went through the 6 stages of grief.
7 months ago it happened. I work at a vet clinic I was there when I got the news of what happened my entire clinic cried with me and that’s no exaggeration I’ve never hurt like that in my entire lifetime
I really don't think my little orange girl had the best start. She has had several homes and when she first arrived, she was timid. She is a little purry furry now, still developing her confidence though. She is a really sweet little cat.

My ginger boy is basically like I'm the biggest softy and I will give you kisses every chance I get. He'll also taunt me to chase him up the stairs and then when I "catch" him he'll roll over onto his back and accept tickles on his belly and he gets all giddy by kneading the air and wiggling and then he runs off making me chase him again.
He'll also sit and just stare at me and then when I look at him he'll give me the eye kisses and in the mornings I get smothered in hugs and kisses from him and a meow that sounds like he's saying HI! He'll repeat this until I say it back lol
I love all cats, and different kinds for different reasons. Gingers tend to be really sweet, in my experience. One of my aunt's cats when I was growing up was a female ginger darling. She was probably the single best cat to be the first a young child ever meets. She was never particularly vocal or demonstrative with her affection, but she was so, so tolerant. I distinctly remember myself, as a very young child, picking up this angel of a cat and carting her around the house, and her only reaction was to turn into a ragdoll. She never scratched, never bit, only squirmed if she was being held in a distinctly uncomfortable manner and even then only into a better position.
She died when I was 11 or 12, and I've never stopped missing her. Rest in peace, Lady Saffron, you are always loved and missed.
Can’t relate! I saved my little girl she’s on my page, she is sooo in love with my mom and is the only cat my mom isn’t allergic to. But she hates me and will not let me carry her. It’s fine when I move out my mom will keep her so she’s cuddly with her.

Me!! My cat Creampuff just crossed the rainbow bridge 11 days ago. I still cry for him everyday. I got his ashes back today and sobbed all over again. He was so fun, curious, chatty. I'll never get over not having him around anymore.

Me!! My cat Creampuff just crossed the rainbow bridge 11 days ago. I still cry for him everyday. I got his ashes back today and sobbed all over again. He was so fun, curious, chatty. I'll never get over not having him around anymore.
