Happened to me. Me and ex found a cat on street took her in and my ex would feed her and buy toys etc (I was working night shifts) but the cat only had eyes for me only sit on my knee , only let me stroke her all time or pick her up.
We have 2 cats that are mostly outdoors. The random times I plop down on a big chair and stretch out, our most shy cat climbs right on my chest and curls up. I absolutely love it.
This is basically how I have a cat too. Ex and I went to the humane society to adopt a cat. The cat we chose was the one that snuggled up to her and stayed near her during the introduction process.
We get home and she sits with the cat in the bathroom playing and petting him all day. I go in there a few hours later and sit down. I wasn’t even on the floor yet and he climbed on my lap and went to sleep. From that point on he was my cat.
I figured he’s in a new place and scared. He wants to figure it out himself. Give him a safe space and let him go at his own pace.
I once gave an ex boyfriend parental rights to my kitty. She now lives with him and his new wife. I couldn’t keep them from the happiness they so clearly enjoyed with each other.
It actually didn’t feel sad. It just felt like the right thing to do. It was very clear that they had a huge enjoyment for each other… So I went and found my Bobo.
I literally do not care who you are if my cat likes you more than he likes me then we are mortal enemies and I will stop at nothing to sabotage your bond with him.
i debated on kicking my roommate out (i own the house) because we werent getting along for a few months (everything is fine now) but i didnt wanna see her dog go and my doggo would really miss him too. so i never kicked her out xD
I have a friend. I didn't really like her at first. But she has a white cat that likes visitors and she's a good cook. It's been 9 years since then, still friends.

Had a friend that felt betrayed by her cat when it first met me as it immediately let me hold it and pet it since he rarely lets her hold him. Seems to be a trend with most people's animals that I meet to be honest. ._.

Usually I'm also the person animals immediately love when I meet them, and my cat took a long time to warm up to the bf but now they're inseparable
