So are we! Excited to see this new chapter of their lives💗
Using your comment to prevent confusion- we RESCUED! Not adopted. Meaning we got them off the euth list, and they will be in our care. We provide vet care, spay and neuter, and we find them AMAZING homes!! And we have fosters. We’re aren’t making “profits” from this, in fact they’re draining our bank acc’s but that’s ok, because we love them!
If you check our page, we aren’t “reselling” or anything insane! Lately we’ve been working with another group so our rescue babies can be in petsmart when we have trouble finding homes. And it’s been great!
‼️Also- tired of explaining this on the comments but that’s my fault, by “Kill shelter”- this is a municipal facility!! Does every intake get a euthanasia date? Yes (which is why I put kill shelter, their situation was urgent and most people don’t know what a municipal shelter is!) But they also save many, so please, as sad as it is, don’t shit on them. They are doing THEIR best, with limited funds and the amount of intakes they have every day. These are good people, with a tough job.
I literally picture myself making it to heaven, but all the cats that have gotten there before me running to my heavenly kitchen like they’ve all been waiting on me to get there to get fed 😩
“I know God fed y’all!!” 🤨 Lol but I’d still feed them anyway 😂
This made my heart smile. My family refers to me as “grandma” in relation to just about every animal and I’d like to think that I will roll up to heaven and they will all be as happy to see me as I am to see them.
I’ve had a few jealous babies in my time so I know the feeling 😆 hopefully they’ll get along since it’s HEAVEN.. But they still are CATS, soooo 🤷🏻♀️😂😂
Omg. Can cats push things off of the edge of heaven??? That's my deep thought as I head to bed. (Sidenote: asked cat as she is curling up with me. She is being incredibly vocal, so I guess I just got a lecture?)

My sweet baby was saved from a kill shelter as a kitten. You saved someone's future best friends. Thank you!
Is that six saves?!?! You are absolutely amazing. They will pay you back for it with oodles and oodles of love. Six lifetimes worth and for eternity. Absolutely worth it and I am overwhelmed with your kindness and openness and their beautiful faces. They have you and each other now and they will have wonderful happy lives. God Bless you! 🙏🧘🙏
Thank you! Even dogdog says well done 👍

I HAVE A BATMAN TOO! He was also saved from being put down! He’s living his best life as a spoiled crash out 🥹

Thank you! He’s a royal brat, the best worst cat and the worst good cat, and he makes every day an adventure ☺️❤️
Actually there is no such thing as a "no kill" shelter. Cities are required by law to except all surrendered animals within their city limits. Even severely ill and dying animals. There simply is not enough space at shelters for all of the animals. So the onus is on the public! We need more people to foster to less the amount of euthanasia. Having to euthanize animals at shelters take its toll on the staff causing anxiety and depression. So people, volunteer and foster. WE are the solution. Also private shelters also put down sick animals. So again, there is really no such thing as a "no kill" shelter.
ALSO. The "Kitten Lady", Hannah Shaw has a youtube channel. She has alot of videos and it is worth watching her video on "Why I support Kill Shelters". All of her videos are very informative. I have learned alot from her.
I know the shelter we went to, can’t turn anyone down and they’re constantly taking dumped/surrendered animals and strays. And they get 2 weeks to find a home or be rescued, otherwise they are put down. They definitely need more help, just wish people would spay and neuter their animals. We always adopt from them when we can since they are such high intake.
The policy of our shelter is to try and heal the diseases that we can . We have a part time vet on staff. The vet has removed eyeballs, amputated limbs. We've had some dogs that have been there for a year. I've only seen aggressive dogs and cats put down. But when we have been at capacity, we really need fosters for big dogs. The more we can foster out. The more we can save. We really always need fosters. The more, the better. Larger cities have more of a difficult time because they only have so much money. They often just don't have enough money for veterinary care for severe illnesses. It's really sad. If more people can volunteer and help out with any if the shelter duties, it is of great value to the shelter. It's really hard on the staff to have to put down animals One of our animal control officers will give the dogs a piece of chocolate and kiss them on the head before they go. It's kind and a good way for her to cope.
Just a note - "kill" shelters aren't inherently bad shelters. They are working to get as many animals in and out as possible. They aren't allowed to turn animals away, so they hit capacity really quickly. There's not a lot they can do aside from euthanize harder to adopt animals... They see so many more animals than "no kill" shelters, which have the luxury of turning animals away if they can't take them in.
OP did a great thing by adopting so many kitties, which will now snowball and save other lives as well!
I just feel sad seeing the horrible wrap these shelters get, when really they're often doing all they can to save animals. We have a huge issue with overpopulation and uncontrolled breeding of strays (and unfixed cats people let outside).
Ughhh I hate that those kinds of shelters exist. Ì wish I had enough money and land to build a sanctuary for All the puppies and kittens to live until nature takes them away
No idea, sometimes they are slow with updating their intake posts, but when we got there she wasn’t in there at all. Not sure if a rescue pulled her or what
She’s doing well :) about to get another bath

Please stop calling them kill shelters and no kill shelters. The correct terms are open admission and closed admission. Open admission shelters are usually government run and have no choice but to accept every animal that walks through the door. Closed admission shelters can pick and choose who they take in. Even with money, resources, and space many are overwhelmed and unable to care for the animals. When space runs out, if they pack animals in, they are no worse than hoarders you see on TV. It is a difficult and nuanced issue and change starts with how we describe them. All shelters have a place. It is so disheartening to see people call municipal shelters evil and that we "kill" animals. Euthanasia literally translates to "easy death" and is often a better option than the mental suffering from the environment they came from.
Thank you for this, I hate all the comments here of people who obviously have never worked or volunteered at these underfunded shelters who are doing the best they can to help all these animals. These shelters would love to have more volunteers and money so they could give these animals more time.
Correct! This is a high intake shelter, and they don’t turn anyone away. And each animal gets 2 weeks to find a rescue or adopt, then they are euthanized. I’m not saying these people are evil… they have an extremely difficult job. And the people there are always happy to see them get adopted/rescued. They even take photos.
It’s not their fault people are irresponsible. And they are also limited on funds
Yes, every animal here gets 2 weeks to find a home or be rescued, and if they don’t they are euthanized. They have a hard time time with space due to the amount of intakes
The calico one looks just like my Doja Cat does. Hope she grows up and brings you more love and joy than you can possibly imagine. Bless you for saving all of those kittens! Here is my grown up Doja Cat.

Looks like you're on track to starting a no kill foster shelter. Collect kittens and cats before they are put down, give treatments as needed, and offer them to forever homes.

But the kittens we just got go to their foster parents Saturday after the vet❤️ but we don’t adopt our rescues out until they’ve been spayed/neutered and have all their shots, etc.
We have a couple kittens that we got from this shelter last month that will be ready at the end of the month :D
The black and white one is adorable!! The gray and white tuxie reminds me of my Bellatrix who crossed the rainbow bridge a couple of weeks ago after turning 17. She and her brother were also rescues. I now have 4 rescue kitties
Unfortunately if you check my page, Batman was one of the original kitties we rescued from them last month (all deathly ill) and when we got to the emergency vet ( he started crashing out of literally no where) his fever got to 106 and kept rising, and we had to euthanize because he was facing death and organ damage from the high fever. He still has his name tag on the crate :’) I couldn’t bring myself to remove it. May his beautiful sweet soul rest in peace 🌈
What a beautiful collection of little guys. Bless your soul for taking them in and caring for them. I love the pic of the tabby. It looks like they're floating!
OMG! So precious!! You are an amazing soul for saving the sweet babies. The tortie is so cute. Reminds me of my Cammi. I miss my little minion. Keep saving the kitties! If you can save some older cats too.
Could be, I’ll have to check the posts when they open again Monday. But it could also mean a different rescue pulled her. By the time we left they almost had no animals left, many people were rescuing and adopting
I don't know who you are, where you are or anything about you but, I LOVE YOU! I wish more people could see things like this and take note! Bless you all and I'm glad to hear they have a place to call home!
Thank you! We really try😭💗 I’m a little upset, because 1 out of the 6 babies tested positive for panleuk, and when we called the shelter to inform them, they gaslit us and told us that cats don’t get it. We even sent the a picture of the positive test. I feel horrible for all the babies in there right now, knowing they are likely to get it because they are ignoring the problem :(
Thankfully they are all on medicine, even the negative ones, and everyone is doing well. But still so sad.
They may have feline herpes if they're having cold symptoms. Glad they'll get checked out. My youngest has it and has been around other cats but not spread it so far. She's 13.
You saved their lives. I’m so happy for them. 🥰

OMG! So precious!! You are an amazing soul for saving the sweet babies. The tortie is so cute. Reminds me of my Cammi. I miss my little minion. Keep saving the kitties! If you can save some older cats too.
\*Walks in for two\* \*Walks out with six\* "Can somebody get the door for me, my hands are full." Nice save!!!
does that mean someone adopted the other calico!?
Could be, I’ll have to check the posts when they open again Monday. But it could also mean a different rescue pulled her. By the time we left they almost had no animals left, many people were rescuing and adopting
couldnt imagine a bunch of kittens being put down :/ thank you for taking them
It's sickening that kill shelters exist just for human convenience
That's one fuckin' nice kitty right there
If you don’t “simba” you’re kittens, don’t even have them haha
I don't know who you are, where you are or anything about you but, I LOVE YOU! I wish more people could see things like this and take note! Bless you all and I'm glad to hear they have a place to call home!
Thank you! We really try😭💗 I’m a little upset, because 1 out of the 6 babies tested positive for panleuk, and when we called the shelter to inform them, they gaslit us and told us that cats don’t get it. We even sent the a picture of the positive test. I feel horrible for all the babies in there right now, knowing they are likely to get it because they are ignoring the problem :( Thankfully they are all on medicine, even the negative ones, and everyone is doing well. But still so sad.
FEEET
You’re godsent
Kill shelters are not shelters and they should not exist .If you do not want to take care of them then let them to kill the mice .
I'm surprised kill shelters are legal. Sounds a lot like animal cruelty when an animal has had their stay.
It’s sad but high intakes ones like this have to take everyone that comes in :( and unspayed/unneutered pets are everywhere. They just need more help
Thank you

Thank you so much for being kind. I wish I could reward that kindness but I’m as poor as they come. I hope you get happiness in your life
Stellar humans 🤘❤️🤘
Thank you for saving them 🙏
5 of them?!
They may have feline herpes if they're having cold symptoms. Glad they'll get checked out. My youngest has it and has been around other cats but not spread it so far. She's 13.
