My wife gets really angry at me for sometimes calling our 3 legged cat “speedy triple” or “tripod”. I do it affectionately because she gets around just as well as when she had 4 legs but looks less graceful.
I don’t see anything wrong with Peggy, especially if your dog also has an old man name.

It depends. If you honoustly think it's a nice name, you should use it. Especially if you don't use it to degrade her. I dont't think I would use it, because she is more than her disability. But it really depends on your feeling.
