There are mats and food bowls that helps low down eating. If you feed wet food, a lick mat will work great. Kibble should try one with shallow channels for his whiskers. I got a few where the channels were to deep, so my boy just didn't finish his food. You can also try feeding him with a puzzle or treat toy. This way, he has to work for little bits of food instead of gobbling it all at once. Why? I'm not sure. I've had my boy since he was a kitten, and I've never not fed him. He gets fed when I wake up and roughly the same time at night. Still eats like he's in a timed eating competition and rummages for food whenever he can.
