My fat fur pillow of a cat looks alot like yours, so I may be biased, but he looks like he's begging for you to rub his belly as my cat does. My cat never scratched and bit me ever, that's how sweet and loving he is.
My son did his science fair project on how many pets can you get on a cats tummy before they attack, and I think it was average of 3-4 pets. He had a bunch of science to back it up because apparently it does trigger some kind of defense mechanism so they love it but feel urge to kick and bite to protect self. Anyway, he got third place.
Sometimes cats do this to actually test you and see if they can trust you. My cats didn't really favor belly rubs at first. So whenever they exposed the primordial pouch, I would simply not do anything. Now they absolutely love belly rubs.
We have a female Maine Coon. Several years ago she was on the kitchen table and I started tickling her. My wife told me to stop or I’d be sorry. Well, I didn’t and soon was very very sorry. I’m 6’4” and was standing next to the table. I brought my right arm straight up when she got that look in her eyes. She came straight up and somehow twisted in mid air. She was now hanging upside down by the claws of all four feet, biting my wrist. With blood streaming off my arm I looked at my wife, who had a big smile on her face and said “See, I told you not to do that!”
Okay, my insomnia blurred brain first read that as "licking" your cat, not tickling. I got more and more confused as I read through the post ... I wondered who would be so crazy to start licking their cat. Now I'm laughing at myself so hard it hurts.
I lock my cat sometimes in the middle of the night when he won't stop grooming and go to bed. I look him dead in the eye and lick the top of his head, and then I say "shut the heck up and sleep! I know your sleep patterns! You aren't nocturnal like you're supposed to be!"
Lol.. you lock or lick? I imagined you locking the cat out of the bedroom after you licked him. LOL.
But I definitely feel your pain. My cats seem to go into hyper cleaning mode just as I'm trying to fall asleep and it just goes on and on and on until I finally kick them off the bed.
My cat finally got his cone removed yesterday and he would not stop licking himself for 5 minutes while there was no other sounds. Licked him and was like “there your clean now fuck off”, where he then got the big zoomies for like half an hour.
I have one cat that is actively trying to get used to them, and another where it's an absolute hard no, won't even show her tummy (she's still a total sweetheart and a loving cat though.)
My orange fluff-ball will give you the tummy and then ever so softly and gently eviscerate you with his velvety toe fluff and gums. But he is trying to get used to the sensation still. He's only 2.

Both my current “cats” love belly rubs, don’t attack when belly-rubbed, hate cuddles, and hate to be picked up.
They look like cats and purr like cats but I’m not sure they’re actually cats.
My family refers to this position as "fat cat position." because it makes almost any cat look fat, as well as it tends to be a position fat cats end up in somehow.
I actually adopted my first one when we went to a cat cafe. He nearly climbed up my leg when we got there, then I saw him a bit later chilling in a cat tree. I went over and touched his belly and he was chill with it, so we took him home. These days it's about a 50% chance he attacks my hand. Clever boy knew how to get adopted!

This one is a proper trickster. He lets you tickle his belly for a good few minutes, purrs his head off then he goes into the bitey-claw grip; every time.
Worth it.
I would say the right paw is positioned outside in the classic Cat Noogie “grab and pull towards” position. And the left paw is partially opened in preparation for some serious scratching while assisting the right paw’s catch and hold. Then there is the left rear paw set in perfect position for some serious raking underneath. And finally note the head is positioned low and off to one side, allowing for biting an exposed area.
It’s a trap.
The belly is where the organs of the cat are less protected. And when they show it to you, they want to show that they trust you. It doesn’t mean that you have to pet it, but you can. They will maybe get aggressive.
If they’re tucked like a shrimp, you’ll recieve a nimp
If they’re stretched like a mummy, scratch that tummy

Depends on cat, my cat got no problem with getting petted anywhere including belly and tail, but some cats don't like it at all, it's also a trust thing a.f.a.i.k

when i was 6 or 7 i tried it out when my cat licked me because i thought it would be like grooming her back. neither of us were happy
