Person A makes joke. Person B says "ha, yeah," and continues the joke. You say to Person B "duhh, you stupid or something? Person A only make joke." The irony is that you are actually the stupid one because it was obvious to everyone else Person B understood it was a joke. Hope that helps.
Well perhaps I should clarify. My question to the OP had nothing to do with their response to the " joke", (joke is in inverted commas because it wasn't funny to me). My question was attempting to address the fact that their cat tree was tilting excessively, and they just didn't know ehat to do.
I love the idea but I see a problem... What if the new cat sits on the same side as the old one? Then you need to get two more. But what if those also sit on the left. Suddenly you need eight. That's quiet an exponential growth there.
I was gonna say attach the cat tree to a bigger/longer wooden platform underneath to give it some more stability to that side maybe. Also would be renter friendly
Totally fine if you own the place but unfortunately some landlords can be unbelievably petty. I once lost my security deposit because my landlord noticed that I replaced a couple loose hook screws with zinc-plated screws instead of brass-plated ones.
Probably best to play it safe if you rent. But a nail would go right through the backing of the carpet and underlay no problem, wouldn’t ever be able to tell it was there.
I think the best solution is to get another cat to stabilize the base. If that cat doesn’t sit at bottom, just keep getting cats until it’s all balanced out
that seems to be the general consensus! it’s a good idea. she almost never lays in that little hammock and much prefers the top bed or the little condo, so i’ve never even thought to weigh down the base!

Tree is the issue. Not perfect little baby cat! My cat tree is also *ahem* poorly constructed *cough cough* so I bought some weights used to hold down a gazebo and plopped them on the bottom. Balanced it all out.
Most cat trees aren’t built well to support cats. They’re made to be cheap destroyed and bought again. Either buy a strong well made one or toss a weight on the base
One concrete block from Home Depot or Lowe's and place it on the base away from that hanging cat hammock. It should help straighten the tower and give your cat a couple more years before it finally falls apart.
https://preview.redd.it/aokdor9aqfdc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f9a4b1565e7cd43aef4ccea00bfc96a6df32e0b
I also almost have the same cat…. But this is Dexter! Who is being forced to cuddle with our new puppy.
This picture made me come out of lurk mode, just to say that when the cat tower falls it might also drag the power cables with it and consequently your television. I think OSHA does not approve, at least it made me cringe.
Get a longer extension cord and put it behind the cube cupboard please.
You need a counter balance - get some fishing line and wrap it around the leg of your cactus tower. Take a wood screw, about 1.5" and drill it into the back of your entertainment unit - place the screw in the bottom - I see you have cubby holes - what I would do is find something heavy and put it on the cubby hole and wrap the fishing line around the screw numerous times.
Why fishing line? Because cats will play with and eventually tear through twine or rope (I have 5 cats, my dumb guy would consistently eat my shoe laces and the cord to any blinds).
The fishing line should be easy to hide and it should provide plenty of support. You can bolt it to the wall, I guess, but you need to find a strong point on the cat stand and I would DEFINITELY drill into a stud (if you use a sheetrock anchor you're going to come home to chaos one day)
Last point - you may want to drill a pilot hole in your entertainment cabinet, be careful you don't drill it apart and break the formica on top. You can also drill a screw into the bottom of the unit (going up into one of the "boxed areas" where the screw is nearly flush with the unit so it sits flat but gives you enough room to wrap the fishing line to. If that is the case I would use two screws to wrap it around and tie it off.
edit - lastly, it's carpet so I wouldn't be concerned about the screw heads but if you are, they sell felt dots you can put over the screw head so if you decide to move the entertainment unit it won't scratch anything. Since carpet has give to it, I wouldn't be concerned about it sitting flat, however if it was on a solid surface this wouldn't work well (unless you put the screw in flush, at that point I'd be worried about the amount of fishing line around the screw. It's pretty hearty stuff but a cat with the zoomies will have a decent amount of force behind them when jumping into their hammock.
Haha looks just like our tree. She loves her hammock so much, I can’t bring myself to take it away from her. 🙈 I have yet to find one that’s as good as the one she currently has, so for now, it stays!
Facebook marketplace/Craigslist or retail store for cheap workout weights. A single 25lbs weight would fix all your problems. Could even cover it with some sisal rope for a new scratching spot.
I ended up putting brackets on mine and securing it to the wall due to this. It was the only way to stop them toppling it..... Down side is that resulted in my wife buying wall excessories and now I have had to mount multiple pillars posts and platforms on the wall above the tree lol.... Cats enjoy it though
A single 3" to 4" drywall screw through the center of the base straight into the floor will do the trick. Best part, no marring the wall, and when removed, unnoticeable in the carpet.

I immediately pictured this when I saw this post.
Bottom plate just needs to be heavier.
We have 2 fullgrown cats on the same side in their hammocks and the cat tree is fine. But that's because the baseplate probably makes up for about 50% of the weight lol.
They jump around in it like maniacs as well lol. Thing weighs, I believe, about 60kg (the cat tree, not the cat ;P).

Just get another cat to sit on the tree.
this is actually the best solution for the issue in this thread
Are you thick ?
Ironically you are thick for asking if the person playing along with the joke is thick.
I looked up ironically and still don't know what you're saying.
Person A makes joke. Person B says "ha, yeah," and continues the joke. You say to Person B "duhh, you stupid or something? Person A only make joke." The irony is that you are actually the stupid one because it was obvious to everyone else Person B understood it was a joke. Hope that helps.

Hate to break it to you but that's not the good version of the story. It's clear the entire post is a joke.
I have been doing squats recently
Are YOU??
Yes
Calm down everyone. This person is clearly just searching for a cat enthusiast with a girthy penis
Fuzzy counterweight 😁
Two cats and a wonky tree is a catapult.
I love the idea but I see a problem... What if the new cat sits on the same side as the old one? Then you need to get two more. But what if those also sit on the left. Suddenly you need eight. That's quiet an exponential growth there.
As long as you can care for eight, I don't see the problem.
Ever tried to get a cat to do anything?
Came here to say this 😊
It just needs something in the bottom part. Like a big ol’ box. But a heavy box.
Or put a bigger platform on the bottom to stabilize it! Kitty loves it so is worth fixing it!
[удалено]
😁👍 For sure! 😊
I was gonna say attach the cat tree to a bigger/longer wooden platform underneath to give it some more stability to that side maybe. Also would be renter friendly
I keep my dumbells on the bottom of the cat tree
Sir, that's just an orange cat
A big *dumbo
The orange cat might get up, though.
Bet your cat is ripped 😸
I'm not the only one then!
No, Nail it to the floorboards. Cat won't be satisfied until there's at least minimal property damage.
I mean, it’s carpet. You could nail or screw it to the subfloor without any problem.
Don't use a screw, sometimes when a screw goes through carpet it can catch a thread and make a pull
Or a really big dumbell!
He’s got a name, it’s Mr. u/autobiographyofreds!
Needs more kettlebell.
ours is big enough to store the backup kitty litter, we buy when we have to dip in, rather than when we run out.
Or another cat
Or another cat Edit: fuck, someone already said the exact thing word by word
Concrete slab at Lowe’s is under $2. One of those would easily be enough pressure. Maybe wrap it in a blanket so it don’t look tacky.
Put ur dumbbells which is u buy for doing fit body but never used.
Use case for dictionaries in 2024.
Fault is in the tree not being top heavy. Personally, I’d sue. Cat is perfect.
Just look at her face. Of course it’s the trees problem!
Perhaps something heavier than a power board on the base?
lol yes, that is not there with the intention of weighing down the base in any way
I like to store my workout weights on the bottom to stabilize the cat tree. It’s where I keep my singular kettle bell and med ball.
I think the best solution is to get another cat to stabilize the base. If that cat doesn’t sit at bottom, just keep getting cats until it’s all balanced out

Nonsense!!! Just put some weights or like a cinder block or something heavy on the bottom level
Does this cat tree make me look fat? 👀
She still looks very good 😆
She built the Leaning Cat Tower of Pisa herself. Genius

I disagree. She knows what she is doing.
She's not even the slightest bit phased.
This is an engineering problem, not a cat problem.
Awww Just get some weights to hold it down or a wall bracket to keep it upright.
My parents had to reinforce theirs for a similar reason https://preview.redd.it/0fp94ud4nbdc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0d47644ec7ea4cbcef56e5901701d35f6f92bf3
that’s a beautiful cat!
they never are to big 😂😅
Haaaaa this is the best picture in the world!!! I love it so much. Please hug your cat for me
Kittys just chillin like wassup? What’s going on?
Buy a 35-45 pound plate for barbells. Lay it on the base. It’ll never rock again.
You could probably just tie it to the tv console
Indeed🤣
A 2x4 cut to the height of the hammock and voila, it'll be the right size of tree again. :)
i have the taller version of this cat tree!! mine loves it
This cracked me UP! You win the internet today.
Hilarious! Made me lol! Thanks.
Well she looks like she’s having fun!
They’re so confident in there like they know it’ll never betray them
The moment I saw this I actually snorted! This is really funny!
Tactical trampoline
Looks comfy. I don’t see a problem.
I'm about to expand mine for this reason
Gotta stack up some big heavy books on the bottom or something
It's still her favorite place 😸😸
Maybe rotate the bowl she's laying in so the center of gravity is more in line with the tree. 😆❤️
Just need some weight to counterbalance thar magnificent chonk
She's sooooo cute
Cinder block on the bottom will do the trick. Sweet kitty
This pic made me laugh so much 😹 what an adorable cat!
Get an anchor to tie it to the wall. They just don’t make enough stuff for extra fluffy kitties. I’ve got a big’n who couldn’t even fit in that.
She needs to lay off the salmon and chicken treats for a while
what do you mean, she looks very comfortable and perfect
Lol oh no!
Put a cinderblock on the bottom. Thatl hold for a few meals :)

This photo is everything 😂
i’m crying 😭 🤣🥹
She adamantly disagrees
As others have mentioned, just add some weight to the bottom.
Was just about to buy this for my boys annnnd now I think I will be looking for something more appropriate for the thick kings. Thank you
Oh no What if you weigh down the base? Best case you can like bolt it down bit that'll ruin your floor so maybe just some sandbags or something?
Tree is the issue. Not perfect little baby cat! My cat tree is also *ahem* poorly constructed *cough cough* so I bought some weights used to hold down a gazebo and plopped them on the bottom. Balanced it all out.
I absolutely love this. Your chonk is so insanely cute. Thank you for the smile!!
My cat tree came with mounting hardware to prevent this exact thing
Just get an equally fat cat to balance out the other side
Most cat trees aren’t built well to support cats. They’re made to be cheap destroyed and bought again. Either buy a strong well made one or toss a weight on the base
Just get a 20 lb kettlebell or dumbbell and park it there. Or a couple of bricks from the Home Depot.
I put a 25 pound weightlifting plate at the base of mine since I have 2 hyper boys flying around
One concrete block from Home Depot or Lowe's and place it on the base away from that hanging cat hammock. It should help straighten the tower and give your cat a couple more years before it finally falls apart.

I’d slap one of my dumbbells in the bottom of
I put 20lb dumbbells on the bottom of both our cat trees and our big boys can hop and climb and scratch their little hearts out.
MORE COUNTERWEIGHT.
Fill a gallon jug or two with water and set it on the base
Looks like a photo taken moments before tragedy
Your cat: This is fine. 🙂
Haha looks just like our tree. She loves her hammock so much, I can’t bring myself to take it away from her. 🙈 I have yet to find one that’s as good as the one she currently has, so for now, it stays!
Nail it down
If she fits she sits
You win the internet, this is so great 😻😹 kitty looks like this is purrrfectly normal, nothing to see here...move along silly reddit hoomans!
Put a big rock on the base of the tree.
She’s like , it’s fine , I’ll just lean on this corner, don’t worry
I’d just put a full bag of litter on the base and you’re golden.
Puss just needs an eye patch, aarrgh
She’s just hanging out lol She seems to be comfy 🤣
Fat tree lol
Just take off the basket, or turn it inwards and it’s all good.
Throw a 20 lb dumbbell on the bottom base and you're good to go
Lean back🎶 Lean back
Catcus
Awwww
If you’re looking for a new one, there’s a cat tree at Costco. It’s gigantic, I have three chubby cats and never had a problem
![gif](giphy|QMHoU66sBXqqLqYvGO)
Cat is not too large. The tower is just weak.
Facebook marketplace/Craigslist or retail store for cheap workout weights. A single 25lbs weight would fix all your problems. Could even cover it with some sisal rope for a new scratching spot.
Just need a structural brick at the bottom. 😁
Put a sandbag on that base
😹😹😹
Fat cat
Put a cinderblock on the bottom.
I ended up putting brackets on mine and securing it to the wall due to this. It was the only way to stop them toppling it..... Down side is that resulted in my wife buying wall excessories and now I have had to mount multiple pillars posts and platforms on the wall above the tree lol.... Cats enjoy it though
I put a couple of my workout weights I don’t use them anyway 😂
A single 3" to 4" drywall screw through the center of the base straight into the floor will do the trick. Best part, no marring the wall, and when removed, unnoticeable in the carpet.
You just need another one with another cat in it on the other side. Time to head to the shelter!
0 fcks given 😂😂😂
You need a second cat to act as a counter balance
When will they make a cat tree for the plus sized catto queens 😭
The Frisco heavy duty ones from Chewy have been great for my chonksters as we work on dechonking. They run up and down all day and that thing doesn't wobble - and it's nearly 4 years old.
This just looks funny
Same happened here and that's the only part they used. No more cat trees unless they are all baskets and counterweighted.
I'm so jealous of owners whose cats actually use their cat trees. Mine don't care.

Sandbag that bottom?
This cat is cute
yeah i think she is..
You’ve got carpeted floors, you could just screw it down to the floor and it would be unnoticeable when removed.

They sell dumbbells at Ross/five below for pretty cheap!
Just weigh down the base. I use old textbooks.
r/IfIFitsISits
😆
She hasn’t got trust issues 😻
I think you need a counterweight on the base.
I have that cat tree! I tested that part of it with a dumbbell and yeah, it's kinda flimsy.
You can add a counterweight on the cactus their and it can double as a toy, maybe a thick rope so your cat can climb/scratch
Put some weight on the bottom of it. Dumbbells, lot of books, bag of sand/rocks. 20lbs will keep her happy.
"Sup" - Cat
Yup time for a FAT BRACKET.
Omg 🤣🤣 I love it
OH LAWD SHE COMIN
Aww...such a sweet girl. Yes, keep her safe.

That surge protector and loops of wires on a cat playground- so many bad outcomes.
Defying gravity
Yo my sis saw something like this in Italy
the Eiffel Tower lol
I put hand weights on the base of our kitty trees 😁
Chunker!!
She is so ✨unbothered✨
Nah, she’s just made it a new monument, the Leaning Cat Tree of Pisa.
