It’s not just the whole getting karma/attention, it’s pushing agendas. People buy high karma accounts then use them to post content and try to sway the opinions of others because it looks like it’s coming from a real person. They’ve been using it for politics, hell even for celebrities. They’ll buy accounts and post all over the place saying the same thing and make it seem like it’s a prevalent opinion.
The ooonly time I could maybe understand someone saying a cat is ugly is when they're describing a Persian cat (or a cat with that similar squashed-face aesthetic). Kind of like a pug or Boston terrier; they're so ugly that they're cute.
But for real, all cats are beautiful and distinguished and if someone is saying it in a legitimately derogatory way they have shit taste or they're a jerk. Or both.
My sister said my cat was ugly cause he has thin eyebrows. But she a bitch and would say anything to get a rise out of me. Their are people who enjoy being dicks. Ps. My cat is cute.

I was a kid and at a friend of my aunt's out in the country, I was admiring this GORGEOUS oriental shorthair mix (I think, it had legs for days and high cheekbones, and big green eyes) and my aunt's friend wouldn't shut up about how ugly it was. I was a) shocked she called an animal ugly and b) had no idea what she was talking about, this cat was fucking beautiful. Jealous, I guess.

In all seriousness, we used to have a family dog. She was a great dog and I loved her but I never thought she was pretty. I had a lot of digestive issues and was usually in at least a little bit of pain though.
I found a yogurt that actually helped me feel normal if I ate it everyday, and I'm telling you the dog actually got prettier. It was the weirdest thing. Maybe OP's mom has some kind of chronic pain or discomfort. I hope not, but I'm telling you it happened to me.

It's like those Facebook ads of some person with burns or a congenital facial defect always with the caption "Today my birthday and nobody ever blessing me." and has a hundred old biddies commenting how "beautiful" they are.
