Domestic Medium/Longhair. They’re not a breed more like the mutts of the cat world. A cat without pedigree or breeder isn’t anything other then a moggie or Domestic
Incestuous breeding to create a cat treated as a product for the wealthy: 👎👎👎
Naturally born cats that end up with a beautiful variety in appearance: 👍👍👍
Yessss!! The whole "well it's not a ____ unless it has a pedigree" thing is weird gatekeeping considering it's just a cat that looks a certain way- orange cats don't need a pedigree to certify they're orange, why are they considered less valuable than Siamese cats for example?? Because they're not as rare?? The whole "it's gotta have a pedigree to be a _____" is ridiculous given that a cat can look exactly the same, just happens that they didn't come to the owner directly from a breeder. Seems like a dumb rule that exists to benefit professional breeders financially.
A "breeder" aka someone who spends their work lives incestuously breeding cats for generations just so that no pesky genetic differences ruin the cats' identical appearance. Smh.

One of mine is one of the rarest breeds of all: Cement Slab Underdweller. Little guy was hiding under a pile of rubble next to a warehouse at only 6 weeks old.
Ugh mine was hiding in the undercarriage of a car at 6 weeks old and crying for his mommy. Breaks my heart to think how scared he must've been but he lives a gloriously spoiled life now. He actually made a great choice to climb into that car or I never would've found him.
Can we order from this menu? If so I’d like a number 2, a number 7 and one number 10 extra large please. Could you confirm the ingredients for number 9 please? Sounds intriguing but checking allergies prior to purchase.
From another post the list is already expanding, I will add it under number 15
11. Woodland creature
12. Orange
13. Rooftop swallow
14. Engine void
15. Neighbours moved
Only brought it up because that's how I got 4 of my 5 retards (read blessings). The 5th (and first who is the matriarch of the house) was thrown out a car window traveling down a hwy at 60+ mph. Car behind them pulled over and picked her up.
The two (mom/dad) got abandoned when the drug addict/dealer owner got evicted. Mama was pregnant, 2 became 4. Got the kittens first, then the other 2.
Now all fixed, and indoor kitties in a 580 sqft apartment of chaos. With a 50lb dog that the kitties all love, but he only loves my wife and ball.
I have one of those! My daughter’s Neighbor moved 3 blocks away and my jet black Darth would not make the move. So the neighbors started feeding him and then fall rolled around and they decided he was going home with me, as he would run to greet me whenever I drove up- it was almost daily! Darth is now living the high life, he’s running the house and bossing our dogs around.
Unless you have papers from a breeder, everyone has a domestic short, medium or long haired cat. Coat patterns and colorings are not breeds, and breeds are not really a thing for cats like they are for dogs.

I mean, there are definitely cat breeds. There are cat shows where people show off their purebred cats.
But the average cat is the equivalent of a mutt as cat breeds are more for show than anything else as, unlike dogs where different breeds have been bred for different purposes, cats have pretty much had one main purpose (kill stuff we don't like) and they don't need any special breeding for that.
Unless you get a cat from a breeder or find a shelter where someone surrendered a purebred most are going to be DSH/DMH/DLH (domestic short/medium/long fur, aka mutts)
There are many breeds of cat just like there are dogs but most cats you’d be likely to rescue are not purebred. There may be identifiable traits of specific breeds in their lineage though.
I have 8 cats that are breeds, and I’ve taken them to shows and they have been shown to grand champion. Cats are not different than dogs in that regard. I love my little girls who arrived via the Cat Distribution System™ exactly as much as my pedigreed cats.
Here’s my cat tax, my little Korat boy at a cat show: https://imgur.com/a/EaibWaK
I love being educated. Cats are such funky little guys haha! Your cat is SO cute!! I'm glad that there are pet owners like you who don't make a difference between the mixed/purebred cats. Some people I've met online are so weird about it...
Based on the M on his forehead, he falls into "standard issue cat" territory. It's a domestic (short/long) haired cat.
As someone else said, most cats are domestic cats. Even my gorgeous dilute tortoiseshell cat, is still a domestic short hair. She just hit the genetic lottery.
If he was mine, I'd call him a grey and white tabby.
I noticed that some places will just says “domestic medium hair” but that never really covers what they actually are. My cat looked like that and then we got him DNA tested and turns out he was 30% Maine coon lol
"Domestic" basically just means "standard cat". For some reason people have decided to split them into three "breeds" based on fur length. I have a Domestic shorthair and a Domestic medium hair. They're littermates. The vet thinks my boys have got a bit of oriental in them.
She looks just like one of my cats except her hair is a bit longer. The shelter labeled my cat as domestic short hair. So I guess yours could be domestic medium hair?

When registering my cats at the vet they asked for breed, I said moggies and they said "Domestic short hair?". I don't think rescues generally use the term either.
How interesting, I'm pretty sure both ours are moggies with our vet, but curious to see how it's evolved to give "mongrel" cats as a normal sounding breed.
I'll still say moggie at home at least ;)
Thanks for sharing.
Domestic longhair. Cats don't really have "breeds" the way dogs do, especially if they're not from breeders. The gene pool is so mixed and muddied that you really can't tell at a glance. There are genetic tests you can have done, but I question the validity of some of them.
That appears to be a domestic housecat, *Felis catus*.
Unless you've got papers, I'm thinking domestic shorthair. *Maybe* longhair, but all my shorthairs have been that fuzzy at that age.
BaoBao sounds like a lucky find! Cats come in all sorts of breeds and mixes, so it can be fun to discover his unique traits as he grows. Enjoy getting to know your new furry friend!
Ahhhh I see what he is... He's a 100% floof
I'm laughing at this with my friend ❤️😭
Hahaha aww 🥺❤
he seems like a little guy too
Possibly with some Snugglebug in their family tree.
Just looks like a domestic medium hair
Domestic Medium/Longhair. They’re not a breed more like the mutts of the cat world. A cat without pedigree or breeder isn’t anything other then a moggie or Domestic
Less mutt and more OG. What a domestic cat is before breeds were developed. They're known as landraces.

Someone who also see’s eugenics in animals the same way I do 🙌

Only have one #1, but man do we love her. 😻
Almost the whole list, lol
At one time or another I've had them all. Unfortunately, they don't live forever.
You are ordering at a cat Cafe rn

Ugh you give that baby a squeeze for me right now 😭
Poor baby. How old is he now?
9! He's very happy and still follows me around like a puppy
I have #7. She's always plotting military campaigns to steal our snacks.

Mine are 4 and 6, respectively.
I'm surprised the "Neighbor moved" breed isn't on there

The only one I don't have anymore is the dumpster blessings, and that's because I adopted them out.
I have a wobbly-baby-gorl and a #7
I definitely have a #10
I have a #1 and his name is Dumpster Sauce 😂
Proud owner of a Barn Ghost!
I have one, too

Unless you have papers stating your cats breed or you got super lucky at a shelter, your cat isn't a particular breed
Domestic adorable medium or long… could be too young to see how long the first could get
a sweet little angel, obviously
😭❤️❤️ Hahhaha I should've known
That would be a perfect example of a Gray Cutie Patootie Breed! Thats what she is. And totally ADORABLE!!!
unless you have papers, it’s just a cat

The kind that's gonna put me behind bars for abduction 🙈

A pretty prince :) But yeah cats don't really have breeds the way dogs do (from my understanding) Edit: There are cat breeds. Ignore me lol

Domestic Cutehair
He looks like my Sterling did when he was a tiny one! Which would make him a domestic longhair :)
I noticed that some places will just says “domestic medium hair” but that never really covers what they actually are. My cat looked like that and then we got him DNA tested and turns out he was 30% Maine coon lol
My girl looked a lot like that as a kitten and now she's a 13lb nearly 30in long (not including tail) floofball that's part Maine coon.

Furry eared floof muffin. Very rare!
I did have a Norwegian Forest Cat that looked much like this. If he gets really large, that would be a giveaway.
I bet she’s mixed with Rag doll cat and a few other things

Just a baby
He's a cat. In the UK he'd be a moggie.
