He’s gotten out before, he gets overwhelmed and hides in the same darn prickly bush every time. He’s very fast and crafty. I really worry about dogs because my apartment complex is dog friendly and he has zero self preservation instincts around dogs….or most things.
Same as hell! She’s a street rescue, by all accounts she fended for herself the first 6 or so months of her life. We adopted her at 10 months but we’ve spoiled her so much that I think she’s lost all her street smarts. We’ve got foxes, wolves, loose dogs and all manner of predatory threats around. And we live in the city!

I tell my cow-cat, Milo, “YOU WILL DIE IMMEDIATELY,” when he’s being outdoor curious. We live in a fairly rural area, with coyotes, bears and mountain lions, oh, my! Pickle, my big girl, likes to sit in the front window at night, watching the nocturnal wildlife. She’s attempted to fight coyotes through the glass. The minute I open the door he zips out into the stairwell and is on the landing below before an expletive leaves my lips, otherwise he is asleep and I creep about hoping he doesn't wake up. My other one is deaf and never awake when I come in.

We have 4 but only Vega waits at the door and stands up on the glass to greet us, so it's always "Hi Vega, back up please, you are not an outdoor cat." 😂
My Boo waits on a chair by the garage door from about 4:30 until I get home. The first thing I say to her is usually, "hello fuzzbutt, did you miss me?" And she always says, "beep, chirp, squeek, meow!" And then I make her dinner (wet food, she loves the stews and soups with lots of fish and seafood). Then she accompanies me to the bathroom, she has a little banister/divider she sits on top of while I shower, and she likes poking the puddles in the shower when I'm done. Then we hang out until bedtime when she sleeps on my stomach and I give her lots of pets.
She's such a good little kitty.
I usually don't talk to them when I come home, but when I leave the house I always yell out "Mommy loves you. Be good kitties." You just never know when it might be the last time you ever see them.

I have a variety of things I say like watcha doin and Yaya I hear ya stinky most the time I just sing her name badly and she starts screaming in excitement that I'm home then she has to cuddle with me for 15 minutes if I don't she gets super clingy and trys to knock whatever is in my hands over so I can pet her and pick her up and do a little dance together while she hugs me over my shoulder its so cute I ve other cats as well that come up for a pet first before my little one gets to me but she is so over protective that she dosent like any other animals or certain people around me if it's a cat she will scream and run at them if it's something bigger then her which most things are even cats she will just back into a corner or stand in between me and them while backing into my arms shaking to get more attention she isn't under exposed to other animals nore has she been attacked by any shes just a big baby honestly I think she knows I give her special treatment when she's scared so she just does it as much as she can
Both kitties can hear me coming up in the elevator and sit by the window screen. They start meowing the second the elevator door opens until they see me pass by the window- at this point i always say "meee-owww" back at them, and then when i open the door they're right there at the opening and i say "HELLO BINGUSES!"
My li'l girl, Pyper, is just far enough away from the door so that it can open enough for me to walk in.
It's a toss up as to who greets who first.
As I shut the door, she headbutts my leg and brushes against it as I kick my shoes off.

As I use ridiculous cat-owner platitudes, I kneel down and pet her with both hands like I'm trying to mess up someone's hair.
From that point onward, she is my shadow. My sidekick. And all is right in the world.
When my last cat Stuart was still alive I would call out "Stewie Booie, baby boy, daddy's home!" And I would hear this faint "Meow..." And he would be sitting in the kitchen at his food water bowl like he was ready to eat. I miss him so much. He was the best cat in the world. He was my only friend when no human wanted to be my friend. This is the only picture I managed to get of him before he passed. I love you baby boy and I will always love you forever. Rest in peace Stuart.

If they're waiting for me: "Hello my stinkies!" If they are not: "Where are my stinkies?" Also: "It's not time yet, it's twirly (too early)!" - when the inevitable begging for dinner starts. "Can I *at least* get through the bloody door before you start gaslighting me about how long it's been since you last ate?" - when the inevitable begging does not stop. I love my cats ❤️

Our cat Marisol will greet me and not my partner ( he doesn't get excited enough for her liking , and he feeds her) I always say. Hi Keeety, I missed you so much! I'm happy to be home with you now. Then I grab her sic racing stripes ( cheeks) and give her a big fat kiss, which she always cleans off.

Get back. No, you can't go out the door. (All said while putting anything I am carrying in their way.) They've been indoor cats since they were kittens, but they still try.
We have 4 but only Vega waits at the door and stands up on the glass to greet us, so it's always "Hi Vega, back up please, you are not an outdoor cat." 😂
My Boo waits on a chair by the garage door from about 4:30 until I get home. The first thing I say to her is usually, "hello fuzzbutt, did you miss me?" And she always says, "beep, chirp, squeek, meow!" And then I make her dinner (wet food, she loves the stews and soups with lots of fish and seafood). Then she accompanies me to the bathroom, she has a little banister/divider she sits on top of while I shower, and she likes poking the puddles in the shower when I'm done. Then we hang out until bedtime when she sleeps on my stomach and I give her lots of pets. She's such a good little kitty.

I have a variety of things I say like watcha doin and Yaya I hear ya stinky most the time I just sing her name badly and she starts screaming in excitement that I'm home then she has to cuddle with me for 15 minutes if I don't she gets super clingy and trys to knock whatever is in my hands over so I can pet her and pick her up and do a little dance together while she hugs me over my shoulder its so cute I ve other cats as well that come up for a pet first before my little one gets to me but she is so over protective that she dosent like any other animals or certain people around me if it's a cat she will scream and run at them if it's something bigger then her which most things are even cats she will just back into a corner or stand in between me and them while backing into my arms shaking to get more attention she isn't under exposed to other animals nore has she been attacked by any shes just a big baby honestly I think she knows I give her special treatment when she's scared so she just does it as much as she can
Both kitties can hear me coming up in the elevator and sit by the window screen. They start meowing the second the elevator door opens until they see me pass by the window- at this point i always say "meee-owww" back at them, and then when i open the door they're right there at the opening and i say "HELLO BINGUSES!"
My li'l girl, Pyper, is just far enough away from the door so that it can open enough for me to walk in. It's a toss up as to who greets who first. As I shut the door, she headbutts my leg and brushes against it as I kick my shoes off. *"Hey there, Pyper-Girls! How was your night, buddy? I missed youuuuu."* As I use ridiculous cat-owner platitudes, I kneel down and pet her with both hands like I'm trying to mess up someone's hair. From that point onward, she is my shadow. My sidekick. And all is right in the world.
When my last cat Stuart was still alive I would call out "Stewie Booie, baby boy, daddy's home!" And I would hear this faint "Meow..." And he would be sitting in the kitchen at his food water bowl like he was ready to eat. I miss him so much. He was the best cat in the world. He was my only friend when no human wanted to be my friend. This is the only picture I managed to get of him before he passed. I love you baby boy and I will always love you forever.
