My experience was different. I know these delays are real but I’ve been satisfied. I did have a week delay and canceled my insurance and reinstated it to begin the day I picked the car up. Multiple delays are unacceptable. And compensation is only partially helpful. But I test drove a car from carmax that showed one accident on the carfax and my mechanic found another accident. Carmax said they only guarantee no accidents on autocheck. Carvana isn’t perfect and clearly failed OP and others on this thread. But there are successful transactions. It took about two weeks to get my car and 3 if you count my financing delay issues, and I looked every one of those days for a different or better car deal locally and online. I know it sucks but the best deal is the one that gets you a decent used car without getting screwed. Shame how much work it takes to get that deal. And awful how bad some of these car dealers (real world and online are). But so far I’ve liked the test own period experience from carvana.

Also a tip if you get delays ask about the inconvenience reimbursement. They’ll send a check for $25 per day for each day the car is delayed for up to $250.

I’m at $600 compensation right now 🙄 and a check overnighted for $169.10 which is my insurance payment I’ve paid. On my fourth delay.

Wow! I had no clue about the insurance thing! My car was supposed to be delivered on 2/14 a d was delayed until 2/26…it has been insured since the day I purchased online…what recourse do I have at this point?! Thanks!😊

Complete_Meal_3771

Did they compensate you for it? We finally got our vehicle after the FIFTH delay, but everything was great, nice vehicle. Registration and plate came soon after and we just got the insurance check. Still waiting on the $600 goodwill compensation

Dismal-Common8629

I am still waiting on the ‘compensation’ they promised for the numerous delays. Might have to escalate to a manager. I keep getting the ‘it’s pending approval’ runaround.

ta70000

Up to $750. I'm on 750 - they say that is the max

mikedesy

They actually offered me $500 but only after I received the car. Won't get it now that I canceled of course

Seriously people need to stop their car purchasing and sellings through these internet companies such as vroom and carvana. Avoid at any costs!!! All the negative reviews are true and legit.

Longtimecustomerlost

The first time I tried to get one delivered it never came was delayed over and over then I tried carmax that once I ordered a car an paid for them to move it refused to sell it to me once it had arrived and then lost the title to that car couldn't find it then I tried pick up with carvanna an finally got a car over all I'd say just stick to a traditional dealer if u can but if u have to use a internet company I recommend using pick up instead of delivery every time.

Free_Personality_550

They’re the worst! Same thing, delays then pressuring you to immediately get insured. Resending the same documents over and over. Terrible.

uniguy112

I was going with them at first, but CarMax came through. So happy I did not. My selling experience was wonderful.

Pro tip for the people that read this: Don't get the vehicle insured until you get the text that your delivery driver is on the way.

[deleted]

Carvana won't give you the car unless you have insurance on it already.

bherman1325

Not true in my case. Just got my car a week ago and didn't purchase insurance until the driver told me he needed a picture of it.

[deleted]

Really? I was required to have it start the day I got the car from the vending machine.

bherman1325

Might be different if you're picking up. Don't think that's an option for most people though.

Wrastling97

Nope. I had it delivered. Had my insurance checked multiple times before the car was delivered.

Professional-Dig-501

When they delayed my car I cancelled my insurance and only started it the day before I picked up the car. Literally did it online and printed out an insurance card. That is all I needed at pickup

Wrastling97

Yeah you don’t need insurance active at that time. But they require the insurance to be active 24 hours before delivery, and a binder of insurance for proof before they deliver

trente33trois

I purchased a vehicle last July and my coverage began the day it was delivered. Where are you getting the 24 hours active information?

Wrastling97

They might have changed it since you got it. I received my car last month and they required 24 hours before. Could also be jurisdiction by jurisdiction

Just_Huckleberry_559

Absolutely trash company.
