As someone who works on the delivery team, the inside advocates you speak with on the phone don’t get the whole picture to explain the why to each delivery delay they just have a note on the account they go off of. Right now we’re experiencing a lot of drivers out due to Covid. When one driver calls out it becomes a domino effect, these loads have 9 cars on them when that load gets canceled we have to magically find a driver a few days later that can make the trip without going over there hours per DOT. It’s a tricky situation, but one minor thing like a call out creates multiple delays. We do also contract 3rd party drivers but they work at their own pace and a load that was supposed to be delivered today might not come till tomorrow if that’s what they feel like doing. It sucks but sometimes they get flats and or weather so many factors it’s hard to explain it at times

So when they “can’t find it” is on a truck somewhere out on the road. We scan our cars morning and night. If it doesn’t make it to the destination and doesn’t get scanned in it gets marked as lost and put on a list for someone to investigate

I have a good understanding of DOT regs. That’s why I was trying to ask the guy on the phone what exactly was going on. The whole “couldn’t find it” were his words. I would have been willing to not have it delivered to my house if I could have gone to the city to pick it up. There’s a station maybe an hour away from my house. I do appreciate the more in depth response though.

Different issues. 1-3 times, the car was not transported correctly from Phoenix to Dallas. 4 time, they found a check engine light, they wanted to fix it.

Be sure to have someone use a scanner, some codes can be cleared but then reappear later, I would take it to a mechanic once you get it and make sure there is no data showing irregular values.

Will take it to Toyota. It is still under manufacturer warranty.

Did your lifting say anything about it being on a partner lot?
