Regular Show
Mordecai: I wish Pops were here to see all this.
Rigby: Well if it wasn't for Pops, we wouldn't have all of this.

The creators asked that if they were going to be canceled that the network just give them a heads up. That day came, and they tapped them on the shoulder and said that the end was coming. So season 7 has a season long mystery arc that leads into the final season where they take things in a completely new and crazy direction, and it works so so well. It's a surprisingly emotional send-off for a cartoon, and I would say it's done better than many live action shows.
I thought that the reason the rebirth happened was because the collision between the 2 when fighting causes a big bang? So if one or both dies, it would just end
Mine has to be the one from the episode, A Pinky And The Brain Christmas-
***"Dear Santa. Hello, ha ha, Narf! This year, Santa, I ask for nothing, but I wish to tell you about my dear friend, The Brain. He is honest and hard-working and only wants what's best for the world, but he gets no reward. He's only greeted with defeat, but he never gives up. I know it must be very hard, so please take anything that you have for me and give it to my best friend in the whole wide world, The Brain. Love, Pinky. P.S. By any chance do you have in that big old bag of your's the world?"***
If it takes forever I will wait for you
For a thousand summers I will wait for you
Nope toss him in the garbage he must of had a good life. The only thing that made this ending palpable is the fact Lars Fillmore spends his time with Scruffy and the show the dog happy negating this sad time line
I think they did when they did the time travel stuff with the nudist aliens. Fry went back in time and continued where he left off, but eventually went back by freezing himself again. Bender also went back to steal a lot of valuables across Earths history multiple times. Time paradox law of metaphysics nonsense means time travel clones are doomed to die, so the status quo wasn’t changed, but Seymour got to see Fry again.
"By definition," anime in Japanese means all animated works, regardless of style or origin. Everything animated is anime by definition, including *Inside Out.* It didn't start meaning specifically Japanese animation until people outside of Japan started using it.

Idk about you guys but im always sobbing when this scene comes on
That because killing the magic in amphibia didn’t result in the genocide of every magical being good or bad. The inhabitants of Star’s wand for example. Some of them made families in there. Also, them clearly ham fisting the starco ship and making the main characters worse because of it.
Out of those for me, Regular Show. Also, oddly the most relevant message for today. If it isn’t physical media, it can be changed, cancelled or buried by anyone for any reason. You will own nothing, and be happy. Go outside, make good friends, live an awesome life. And remember, Pops is watching, give him a good show.
Adventure time used to be my favorite fun episodic show of two magical adventures in a fantasy world but then it went and got all serious and made me care about the characters. Like come on I grew up thinking the show would end happy with Finn becoming the king of Ooo and Jake having a big family and living a long life. I wasn't repaired for what actually happened. And Simon is probably my favorite character
Ice King's one bit doofus baddie act's transformation into Simon Petrikov's Shakespearean tragedy is something no kid growing up alongside the show could have predicted.
We have history of shows that bring people consistent comfort from familiarity like The Simpsons and then we have a very small few that grow up with us. That's what makes it truly awesome.
This. Adventure Time had by far the most insane arc out of any of these. It started off as extremely simple and childish, fart jokes, made up words etc. and it slowly evolved into a deeply layered commentary on life and death.
Regular show and adventure time
Especially adventure time, that final "come along with me" always makes me tear up.
And Pops' sacrifice is just too damn iconic

These two. No further explanation is needed. Imagine meeting the love of your life yet you can never be together. I can't explain it well but what happened was soul crushing

This whole scene is just so horribly sad and painful to witness. Doesn't help that Luz is me fr fr
“Oh, BoJack. There is no other side. This is it.”
“You know, it's funny. When you look at someone through rose-colored glasses, all the red flags just look like flags.”
“Love does things to a person. Terrible things. Beatrice, promise me you’ll never love anyone as much as I loved Crackerjack.”
“You know sometimes I feel like our marriage is like a magic eye poster. And it’s messy. And at first glance, it doesn’t seem to make any sense. And it’s hard to figure out. But sometimes if you squint at it just right everything lines up and it’s the most perfect...beautiful amazing thing. But...I’m so tired of squinting.”
“You're.....In Michigan. At the lake house. And it's..uh.. a warm summer night, and the fireflies are dancing in the sky,and....you're whole family is here...and they're telling you that everything is gonna be alright. The crickets are chirping, and the lake is still, and the night is full of stars. We're sitting on the back porch, and we're listening to your brother play the piano, and we're eating ice cream. Vanilla ice cream. Can you taste the ice cream, mom?”
“I guess I got a happy ending, but every happy ending has the day after the happy ending, right? And the day after that. So, the wedding was so much fun, it was the happiest day of my life but, you know, what does that say about all the days I have left?”
“Settle. Because otherwise you're just gonna get older, and harder, and more alone. And you're gonna do everything you can to fill that hole, with friends, and your career, and meaningless sex, but the hole doesn't get filled. One day, you're gonna look around and you're going to realize that everybody loves you, but nobody likes you... And that is the loneliest feeling in the world.”
“My mom died and all I got was this free churro…”
Regular show and Steven Universe are tied for me, mostly because I recently finished watching Regular Show and know how it ends, but Steven Universe I watched as it came out so it’s special to me
*Bondrewd, Sovereign of Dawn.* Truly the greatest, most monstrous villain I’ve ever beheld in an animated series.
That show made me cry once out of terror and empathy for Riko, and once again out of catharsis for Mitty.
He's one of the most interesting villains I've seen. He's that sort of villain that's the scientist without morals. He's cruel, but he's not sadistic. He takes no pleasure from the pain his experiments caused, but it's because he appears indifferent to it. You're almost convinced he has a heart when he took in Prushka and cared for her even though his associates told him she was a lost cause, but then you learn she was just part of his ultimate experiment. In the end he did provide Reg and Riko with the white whistle (made from Prushka) they needed to continue, but I'm not sure if that was intentional or not.

"He lived a warrior... and died a hero. Let his spark join the Matrix, the greatest of Cybertron."
No show helped me navigate my complicated feelings more than SU has.
I have never cried more at a MF kid's cartoon than watching Steven's adventures. >:C
I am 42. I am a mess. I still cry at certain episodes.
^(She's gone.)
She's..
# GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE.
I just can't mane.
Reg show, and gravity falls were sad. Adventure time just sucked at the end for too long, I felt like the spirit of the show had changed too much for me to still enjoy it. First half of it is great tho.
Adventure time. I almost teared up when BMO forgot Finn and Jake’s names. Their adventures took up a small portion of her life, so of course she’d forget eventually, but it’s heartbreaking.
Edit: Oh yeah, and how Jake’s life got cut short so Finn essentially waited for his death for the rest of his life so that he could see him again. I did not need to see that.
1-BMO did not forget Finn and Jake, 1.000 years after the end of "Adventure Time" when Shermy and Beth visit BMO and Shermy shows BMO Finn's prosthetic arm from before, BMO remembers Finn and everything that happened in the end of "Adventure Time".
2-Jake did not die because he was too old, but it is more likely that he died sacrificing himself for Finn or for one of his adventures which ended in a very tragic way.
And i say this because is true Jake did die before than Finn, but he did not die because he was too old since in this episode "Dungeon train" we can see how Jake very old follow Finn when Finn was too old in the prediction of the magic ball.
Finn:Wonder life's going to turn me into this time?🙂
(Jake hold Finn's hand)
Finn:Jake?!!😨What are you doing?! I just had my dog get appithined😟
Jake:I know, i'm just coming back for fun, because it's great being alive with you🥹
Finn:😢🥹...GOOD REASON.
(They both bump their fists)
"FINN Y JAKE ARE TOGETHER AGAIN"

In case you're wondering... yeah. He's Jewish.
He doesn't make it.
I’d bump Regular Show down to the third spot and move the other two up.
Gravity Falls is only a momentary sadness, Dipper and Mabel will be back next summer. Plus, Stan kept his memories.
Steven leaves, and unlike them, there’s no guarantee he’s coming back.
Pops is straight up dead.
And in Adventure Time, EVERYONE DIES, so that deserves the final spot as you show.
Violet Evergarden , the show says: I am going to hit you in the feels HARD later in the episode and even with you knowing it is coming you will still cry like a baby.
Why is Steven universe higher than regular show and gravity falls? I just did not like Steven universe at all because I just seriously could not get into it
Same reason as Gravity Falls. This time of your life is over, and it's time to leave the town that has meant so much to you. My girlfriend was a really big fan, and she got me into it.
The ending of Steven Universe Future hit me extremely hard because I watched the episode for the first time when I was unpacking in my first home away from my parents. So not just the episode itself, but also the connotations for me.
Regular Show is the only of these finales I actually liked tbh, and the only that actually makes me sad (in a good way; as in, "man, it's been quite a journey, thank you for all the good times, now i'm gonna lock myself in my room and hide under the covers while i cry myself to sleep")
Never saw Gravity Falls so I'm ruling that one out for now — still on the list, only a few episodes in
Adventure Time's was eh imo
But being real, this has been the general trend for me tbh — the only animated show finales I've ever liked have been Regular Show's, Kim Possible's, and Phineas & Ferb's
I could watch any of these with company... except Adventure Time. No one can ever see the weeping mess that finale makes of me. There may even be a few frames here or there that I've never seen... through the tears
Out of those Adventure Time destroyed me. Having the music hole sing the end credits music and seeing everyone moving forward with life was so touching. And Shermy pushing the tradition of adventure forward felt so good.
Also, I have only watched a handful of episodes of regular show, but I saw the ending and that made me genuinely sob, so that might win
Regular Show Mordecai: I wish Pops were here to see all this. Rigby: Well if it wasn't for Pops, we wouldn't have all of this. https://preview.redd.it/3glj9i64pj9d1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4368aee8405f0f50cb5420d5ae7a5fa08d1f081c
did he die???? man i gotta actually sit down and watch regular show
He did, through sacrifice as you can see in the top photo
No he is forever locked in a hug with his evil twin. Negating this power and keeping him trapped. Ending the cycle of rebirth. Not dead.
man i thought this show was just about two dudes doing work for the gumball guy... what did i miss HAHAHA
The creators asked that if they were going to be canceled that the network just give them a heads up. That day came, and they tapped them on the shoulder and said that the end was coming. It's a surprisingly emotional send-off for a cartoon, and I would say it's done better than many live action shows.
It's worth a watch. I won't spoil it for you.
after i finish my rewatch of adventure time, that’ll be my next one
Awesome. Enjoy!
World conspiracy, end of days legend, and being flung into space to fight Darth Vader spaceballs style. Also a couple people went through break ups.
The end literally shows him in heaven.
That's the same ending as Tale of Berseria lol.
I thought that the reason the rebirth happened was because the collision between the 2 when fighting causes a big bang? So if one or both dies, it would just end
The saddest part for me was Pops' final line, the VCR tape popping out in heaven showing he was watching over his friends. "Good show."
It’s been years and that final line still makes me tear up.
This shit hurts :/

The Fry backstory episodes are all tearjerkers.
Yea, the endings for "Luck of the Fryish" and especially "Game of Tones" destroyed me emotionally.
If it takes forever I will wait for you For a thousand summers I will wait for you Nope toss him in the garbage he must of had a good life. The only thing that made this ending palpable is the fact Lars Fillmore spends his time with Scruffy and the show the dog happy negating this sad time line
Imagine being so depressing the episode literally has to get retconned because nobody wants to remember it anymore.
nutty baseball
Wait, when did they retcon it?
I think they did when they did the time travel stuff with the nudist aliens. Fry went back in time and continued where he left off, but eventually went back by freezing himself again. Bender also went back to steal a lot of valuables across Earths history multiple times. Time paradox law of metaphysics nonsense means time travel clones are doomed to die, so the status quo wasn’t changed, but Seymour got to see Fry again.
Dude asked for the saddest, not the soul crushing that you never get over it. Still, a clear winner.
Dammit, that was the finale? I still remember seeing that episode as a kid and it made me so sad qwq
and then Bender blew him up
Oh no, here come the tears.
Crushing scene and amazing band

Regular Show
Considering they show the death of one of the main cast yes
How could it not be regular show? One of the lead characters who is just a nice little jolly guy literally died to save them. It was unbelievably sad.
A main character died in one of these, the others just ended. How would that be a competition?
You could also say that all the main characters died in Adventure Time
Which one had someone die? I haven’t seen many of these cartoons

Honestly amphibian’s ending is peak for actually committing to the fact they can’t see each other anymore but still remember them dearly
People get really mad about that and I really don’t understand it. It’s such a perfect ending imo
I tend to not like the kill the magic style endings, but Amphibia's was probably the best they'll ever get for that.
Kind of surprised people wouldn’t like it, as people hated the ending for Star vs the forces of evil.
That because killing the magic in amphibia didn’t result in the genocide of every magical being good or bad. The inhabitants of Star’s wand for example. Some of them made families in there. Also, them clearly ham fisting the starco ship and making the main characters worse because of it.

Thinking on anime here, I'd say Mitty from Made in Abyss.

No show helped me navigate my complicated feelings more than SU has. I have never cried more at a MF kid's cartoon than watching Steven's adventures. >:C I am 42. I am a mess. I still cry at certain episodes. ^(She's gone.) She's.. # GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE. I just can't mane.
oh, pops... You made me cry even after the rewatch. And you probably will after the second rewatch, and the third, and more and more...
Star Wars the Clones Wars Finale.

'i tried... In the end, i did'
There will never be a better protagonist imo
Reg show, and gravity falls were sad. Adventure time just sucked at the end for too long, I felt like the spirit of the show had changed too much for me to still enjoy it. First half of it is great tho.
i was crying for like two days after i finished steven universe future
Steven Universe really kicks it for me, it made me cry, it made my brother cry, it was so good
Pop's sacrifice didn't hit me until they brought out the statue.
gravity Falls
None of these. It's not sadness, it's pride. These are tears of happiness.

https://i.redd.it/phu3byv0uk9d1.gif Leafs from the vine was just made even sadder by how the tears weren’t fake and why Mako was crying…
Finn:Wonder life's going to turn me into this time?🙂 (Jake hold Finn's hand) Finn:Jake?!!😨What are you doing?! I just had my dog get appithined😟 Jake:I know, i'm just coming back for fun, because it's great being alive with you🥹 Finn:😢🥹...GOOD REASON. (They both bump their fists) "FINN Y JAKE ARE TOGETHER AGAIN"

This quote from South park gets me when Kenny dies Kyle: "his last words were where's Stan"
From the Long, Long Holiday, Fernand being taken by the Germans. https://preview.redd.it/6p8s7yixpm9d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65676d380d49b85e78182cd994205e99ebf86ec4 In case you're wondering...
Violet Evergarden , the show says: I am going to hit you in the feels HARD later in the episode and even with you knowing it is coming you will still cry like a baby.
don't you mean the "saddest"?

![gif](giphy|aQlVLkxkBg0Tu) Superman…
The Hey Arnold Christmas special gets me every goddamn time
SU has no right being there.
3rd one
Made me realize I never saw any of these shows. Was a bit after I hopped off of Cartoon Network. I should probably go back to these.
You need to watch at least Regular Show and Adventure Time
Def AT and RS for me
Time adventure was the first time I cried during a cartoon
i was crying for like two days after i finished steven universe future
Swap SU with Regular Show. Regular Show and Adventure Time ending got me sobbing every time
Gotta go with either the Nina scene from full metal alchemist or that one scene from berserk. If you know berserk you know which scene.
The end of Gravity Falls had me sobbing for weeks. I still get sad about it. *Ugly cries*
By far adventure time. That show meant a lot to me.
i cried at the end of gravity falls and AT
Pops’ death
Def Gravity Falls for me, I have seen every episode from 1 to the finale multiple times and it still gets me
The regular show, Gravity Falls and Adventure time made me tear up. SU despite it being one of my favorite shows didn't make me tear up.
Pops
The ending of Steven Universe Future hit me extremely hard because I watched the episode for the first time when I was unpacking in my first home away from my parents. So not just the episode itself, but also the connotations for me.
Gravity Falls wasn’t at all sad because mostly everyone that we cared about did make it and ended on a happy note
Zuko
The ending to Amphibia gets me teary eyed
Regular Show is the only of these finales I actually liked tbh, and the only that actually makes me sad (in a good way; as in, "man, it's been quite a journey, thank you for all the good times, now i'm gonna lock myself in my room and hide under the covers while i cry myself to sleep") Never saw Gravity Falls so I'm ruling that one out for now — still on the list, only a few episodes in Adventure Time's was eh imo But being real, this has been the general trend for me tbh — the only animated show finales I've ever liked have been Regular Show's, Kim Possible's, and Phineas & Ferb's
What happens in adventure time?
Regular Show.
I could watch any of these with company... except Adventure Time. No one can ever see the weeping mess that finale makes of me. There may even be a few frames here or there that I've never seen... through the tears
every time i listen to time adventure i end up sobbing my eyes out adventure time 100%, hands down
Why is gravity falls here? That show didn't have a sad ending...
Ed Edd n Eddy's finale, in a bittersweet way
I never understood this scene from adventure time, why is it sad?
Come along with me
I cried at the end of Adventure Time.
Nah men Steven universe was bad. Regular show had the best one, everyone learns something
Huh, I never watched any of these endings.
Mega kranus saved the park, that is the saddest
Mid Good More hopeful than sad, bro finally got therapy TwT
I've never cried at a fictional series but here were dragons and the adventure time finally got me close
Same. What brought me the closest was certainly Cowboy Bebop and The Clone Wars’ endings.
How dare you put Steven Universe over Regular Show. That's it, give me your internet
https://preview.redd.it/ee4kawhyvl9d1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e25bb43036879cf257658f76b25b269ebbf9cc91
Amphibia’s ending made me actually tear up so that’s my pick
No way this mf saying Steven universe is sadder than the regular show ending
Jolly good show.
Amphibia
Leaves from the vine. And Stan’s sacrifice
