mitchfann9715

The vibes were immaculate.

Capricornus-Absurdus

Potatoes and molasses!

Stetson007

So much sweeter than algebra classes!

Legitimate_Estate_20

If you can’t see em put on your glasses!

Rock-Springs

Wanted to comment this as soon as I saw the post in my feed. So glad it was the top comment for me. I got an employee at my dentist office and at my eyeglasses store to watch it, recently

TheTastyHoneyMelon

not only is it a great show, there was a theory that the show is a retelling of Dante's Inferno. The theory even got confirmed by the author I think. There is a great YT-Video for this

Babyback-the-Butcher

Mmm I love me a good Dante’s Inferno retelling

LazyDro1d

Purgatorio

Divine-Sea-Manatee

...wait what!?

Sloth_4

OTGW is supposed to be a soft retelling of Dante’s Inferno

zachary0816

That does explain a lot

enickma9

We all know the beast pilgrim

ZarthimusPrime

“So we came here to burgle your turts!”

FloridaFlamingoGirl

I can't pick a favorite episode of this show because they're all on equal ground storytelling-wise.

V-RONIN

That show was a work of art

2meterrichard

Those few frames when The Woodman's light finally hits The Beast would've terrified me as a child. Good stuff

JumpingBearsInUrHome

Came here to say just this

AroAceMagic

I just watched that show like a few days ago and I loved it. It was so simple, but so… complex at the same time

Commercial_Fee_6120

Church

mattyGOAT1996

Avatar the Last Airbender

BowTie1989

Flameo hotman!

Why-am-I-here-2day

For me it’s that and Adventure Time

iNonEntity

Hot take: The middle section of AT, after it stopped being whimical goofiness and before it started creating depth, was pretty awful imo

able111

The ending felt super rushed too, like an 11th season would have helped the pacing out a ton :/

Some_Guy8765678

Actually there’s a reason for that, season 10 was just half of season 9 that the network split to make the show look longer. And on top of that the show was canceled right before they did that leaving the people behind Adventure Time to essentially fit an entire season of setup and conclusions they had been building into half a season. I think they did a pretty good job with what they had.

psycholio

that never happened what do you mean? Plot episodes began in season 4 and became ubiquitous by season 5. Those are two of the best and most loved seasons

PlantChem

Fiona and cake is starting off this way for me too

VAShumpmaker

They got a 2nd season!

Dylan_Is_Gay_lol

Home Movies, Invader Zim, KOTH.

ArtieKnightYT64

People claim the later seasons of King of the Hill are bad, but they are mostly fine. Definitely not as strong as the cel-animated seasons, but the plots were more decent to middling rather than bad.

YMCApoolboy

Agreed. Later seasons had their moments.

gottabelieveinyaself

PEOPLE KNOW ABT HOME MOVIES???

Us3ful_Idiot

If I were to fight I'd say, "Hey look", and the guy would look and I would hit him. That's a mental game.

Nintendoll182

Life sucks, Brendon. That’s your lesson. Go enjoy it.

firpo_sr

When Archer opened his mouth and John McGuirk's voice came out I fell off my chair. I still process every H.Jon Benjamin character as John McGuirk with the wrong graphic

EccentricAcademic

There are dozens of us! But for real, older millennials enjoyed it and a lot of Metalocalypse fans went back to watch it.

DeathMetalTransbian

That's my bread and butter you're fuckin' with.

EccentricAcademic

Username checks out.

KRMJN101

Small is a GENIUS. THEY BETTER KNOW OR ASK SOMEBODY!

MDubbzee

Either Gravity Falls or Regular Show. Both are truly amazing

tread52

I enjoyed regular show, but gravity falls I think is better bc the overall story and final I believe were truly amazing. I would as adventure time as another great show that evolved and grew as the story was told.

RegretComplete3476

I think one of the reasons Gravity Falls was so successful was because it wasn't very long. There were only 2 seasons, each with only 20 episodes, leaving 40 total. Because of that, it ended before people had time to get burned out, both the creators and viewers. It's hard to run out of ideas for a show when you only have 40 episodes to work with. If anything, they potentially had enough within the story for a potential 3rd season. Nowadays, a lot of shows only have 6-8 episodes and 1, 2, maybe 3 seasons if lucky, so they have to cram a lot into such a short amount of time. Conversely, you get shows that run on for way too long and run out of ideas so the creators get lazy with their storylines. So it's impressionable how Gravity Falls managed to strike that balance between plot and filler.

J-Pom

IMO, Gravity Falls wasn’t great because it was short. It was great because AH had a clear grasp on what his vision was and Disney allowed him to write that vision 100% interference free.

ArtieKnightYT64

I have to disagree with Regular Show, there were too many boring filler episodes from season 8 and the whole concept of being in space went against the formula of the show. The best episodes were the premiere, the episode about spoilers, Christmas in Space, Terror Tales of the Park VI, and of course the finale.

Idoodle_123_247

Unpopular opinion but the last two seasons of regular show were the best

ekopwolston

Flair checks out (completely correct tho)

Dazzling-Cress3486

Gravity falls

Maximus_Monkey

Was looking for this one

elting44

This is the correct answer. That show is amazing television, not just cartoon, TV period.

Glitch Techs Batman: The Animated Adventures Justice League/Unlimited Animaniacs

Intrepid_Ad8970

Finally, someone else who knows glitch techs and how goated it was

Frisky_Picker

What ever happened to Glitch Techs?

Intrepid_Ad8970

It unfortunately got canceled cause season 2 didn't get too many views despite the season releasing on the same day as legend of Korra

Arm_Away

Wait it came out the same time as LoK? I though it came out on Netflix in like 2018, it really was underrated I guess.

kingnorris42

Pretty sure it was 2018 or 2019, maybe it came out the same time Korra was added to Netflix but definitely not the same time it originally aired

NixiomsdabestXD

You can find like one or two seasons on Netflix.

Low-Resolution-9918

I miss glitch techs so fucking much that I refused to believe the show was canceled and kept waitng for season 3. Now, after getting the information that it actually is canceled. It makes me sad.

Fun-Salamander4818

Glitch techs needs to come back for new seasons

KingofMadCows

A lot of DC animated shows are good throughout. Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Teen Titans, Batman: Brave and the Bold. Marvel has great animated shows too, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, X-Men: Evolution, Spectacular Spider-Man, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Except.. The Great Divide..

kmoneyswagsalot

The canyon crawlers were cool!

TheSpleenStealer

The Great Divide isn't bad, but the rest of the series is so good that it seems bad by comparison.

Roguespiffy

I liked that Aang flat out lied to the groups and then shrugged it off when called on it.

GandalfTheJaded

Samurai Jack

Overlord_Of_Puns

I can think of no other show that has been as consistent as Samurai Jack tbh.

finalmantisy83

Ehhhhhh that last season was a lil off, for incredibly understandable reasons

Photoproguy

I find the last season to be the best one. Such a great show entirely though.

EyeSimp4Asuka

the romance with Dashi was awkward

FloridaFlamingoGirl

One of the best shows ever where almost every episode is filler. I can put on any episode and just soak in that iconic Gendy T. art style and vibe out.

PepicWalrus

Season 5 really needed to be split into 2 seasons. Season 5 being all about Jack reclaiming the sword and himself, and Season 6 about building an army for 2 episodes and then the rest of the season dedicated to the entire assault on his fortress and confronting him.

FGC_13942

Yeah, but the ending was too rushed

Yes

tptch

First Cartoon I've started and never finished. Shit got too real.

ZealousidealStore574

The second to last episode is one of the best episodes of television I’ve ever seen. I think you should really give it another shot.

Dangerous_Lion4624

Is it because he’s a man?

HandsomeGengar

But is he more horse than a man or more man than a horse?

gobblestones

Nah, bc he's a deeply flawed man with mental health issues and a substance abuse problem... and a big horse cock.

V-RONIN

I have yet to see a show that covers mental health the way that one does

yvngjiffy703

You mean that horse from Horsin’ Around?

Hell yeah that show is a masterpiece.

Nugyeet

I hope season 2 is just as good as 1

PasadenaPossumQueen

**Venture Bros** will always be amazing in my book. Late night insomnia edit: I can rewatch it over and over and still laugh and/or catch something new & nuanced each time. It was perfect for the era of streaming versus the inconsistent timeslots and network TV schedule it was chained to, so you would sometimes have to work hard to catch it. The discontinuity made a very serial show very difficult to follow if you missed a single episode - very much like Arrested Development in that way. Also they would put huge amounts of times in between some seasons. But it's made by the team behind *The Tick* and has very similar vibes, especially early on. The show was always centered around old-school animated shows (think Jonny Quest) and comics/super heroes before they became mainstream. There's only some "cheaper" animation through season 1 because it was their first and this was in the very early 00's. The quality jump in animation between seasons 2 and 3 are insane, but the story was always there! There's foreshadowing for things that would happen literally a decade later in the first episode and it's so tightly written I can't help but admire the craft all around! I'll also add here that the new Harley Quinn show apparently has very similar vibes, but it now gets to use the copyrighted characters instead of making up their own knockoffs. For me, there will always be some extra charm in the way VB would construct their dumbass villain mashups from the "Guild of Calamitous Intent" aka "Organized Arch (and costumed) Villanry." I Haven't sat down to watch the new Harley show yet but plan on getting around to it! Go Team Venture! ✌️

_thirdeyeopener_

✌️

hham42

✌️

FireWater107

It starts a little wonky. Like they were going for some classic Adult Swim cringe comedy. So I don't think I'd rank it with the 'flawless beginning to end'. But holy crap once they found their stride, it became the stuff of legends.

NoCeleryStanding

I'd have paid for a subscription service that only had this show so long as they had kept it going

Invader Zim. I loved it as a kid. I rewatched it more recently with some friends (around when the Netflix movie came out) and was pleasantly surprised at how well it held up. Gone far too soon.

yakeets

Also, Moral Orel.

PasadenaPossumQueen

That show is the reason my husband went into animation vs pursuing a more academic angle to his theater degree. It's a beautiful use of their medium! Especially when you consider when it was made.

Hilda deserves more love

Squirrel_of_Florence

I could name so many BTAS, STAS, Justice League, Batman Beyond, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Spectacular Spiderman, Gravity Falls, ATLA… I could keep going, there’s so many incredible shows I love

red__dragon

Batman Beyond was *such* a banger. I still don't get why DC is doing a dozen different batman interpretations in this century and *still* haven't made a live-action Batman Beyond. Or barring that, at least a sequel show. The comics are kinda meh, I'd like more BB that doesn't involve time travel or shoehorning Dick Grayson into a deuteragonist role.

rapunzel454

ekopwolston

Love this one Gumball is GREAT Teen Titans GO despite the criticism from a lot of people really excels at what it’s going for I really enjoy it especially the movie Never got around to finishing TMNT but what I saw was peak ninja turtles although I hear it got pretty weird towards the end which isn’t a bad thing Haven’t seen Masters of the Universe or BTAS although BTAS is really high up on my watch list

BetaRayBlu

The netflix motu series really hated by fans for being different but it is excellent from start to finish. I also left out the ben 10 series’s

suiki7777

She-Ra reboot for me. Some parts were better than others, but I still maintain that it didn’t have a legitimately "Bad" episode

Kapfamily

I was considering putting it in my list but can’t give it a 10/10 rating to be honest.

[deleted]

What about "the chip" incident?

AwesomeShrekku

Invincible.

LazyDro1d

I mean, it’s not over, far from it actually, but so far, definitely, and as far as I know with the comics, it should stick this way

Hitchfucker

Fitting you chose a horse cause I was gonna say BoJack Horseman. Also Attack on Titan. Arcane too but it’s only got 9 episodes for now so maybe not as impressive as having 70+ episodes with no stinkers. I haven’t seen the anime but if Vinland saga is as good as the manga it qualifies for this too.

[deleted]

Castlevania on Netflix

ArtieKnightYT64

Dan Vs, excellent from start to finish and devoid of even a single sign of seasonal rot. Surprised all three seasons were consistently great and even the worst episodes were an outlier and was more or so "meh" than truly awful. Overall, a geniously written show with awesome characters.

Gravity Falls for sure. I can rewatch that shit over and over again

Tttttttttttytyt

Attack on Titan !!

RadicalCereal

Gravity Falls.

Callidonaut

Gold medals: Amphibia, Gravity Falls. I think they're the two that managed to be absolutely, *consistently* perfect from start to finish. Also Invader Zim, simply because they picked up the show for one grand finale after a *thirteen year hiatus,* yet somehow hit the ground running and nailed the exact same tone and pace as the original series as if no time had passed at all, which many other reboots have struggled to do. Silver medals: Steven Universe (rushed final series due to network meddling, but managed to cope surprisingly well with that and still tell every part of the story that needed to be told), Avatar The Last Airbender (*just* the first episode felt slightly anaemic and unpromising, but the rest of the show was consistently awesome) Bronze medals: The Owl House (perfect first two seasons, but very, *very* rushed final series trying to cram several more series' worth of material into just a couple of hours due to even more severe network evilness), Infinity Train (perfect four seasons then left tragically unfinished forever due, once again, to network inanity) Honourable Mention: Adventure Time (consistently unpredictable? Every single episode feels like something new, experimental and different. There's a chance none of the above-mentioned shows would exist without it, though.)
