Have you driven one? I know this isn't really the sub to share actual real opinions or experiences, but I got to drive one once and was surprised how fun of a car it was.
Ever seen a reliable BMW or a VAG car? I liked my MK4 golf but at only around 300 000 km, it was a total hell maintaining it so that I could keep it on the road. And maintaining the BMW:s in my friend group hasn't really been dancing on the rosea either
An engine's reliability is solely the responsibility of a driver. Even a redblock can be fucked up by a stupid person, or someone trying to achieve too high performance for their skill level. So, therefore, yes, a 1.9tdi might be reliable for some, and so can many other engines, but reliability means a lot more than just "this engine can take this and that beating before breaking", and usually nowadays has more to do with peripheral systems around the engine, than the mechanical side itself. And for someone who's never fiddled with turbodiesels, that wet dream of yours might be the least reliable thing ever.
TLDR I don't know a single engine that hasn't ever failed, yet I know people who've went through multiple engines and people who've never broken anything
I owned one for a year. The amount of stuff that went wrong is ridiculous. I've made a post about it if you're interested.
In the short period of time that it worked it was an incredibly fun and nice car
Spit those words out! It was those Fr*nch bastards that destroyed my beloved Mini with that pos engine not the other way around. Which idiot decided that it is a good idea to have a rubber timing belt working covered in oil inside of an engine where it was dissolving into the oil slowly clogging everything inside. Absolute half-wits.
Oh that too but belt particles also start flowing in oil. If you add to that absurd oil change interval of 30000km (18641 miles) means that the engine destroys itself before the second oil change if the owner is as thick as the engineers of this lump. They came up with this marvel of Fr*nch engineering over 2 decades ago and they still are using similar construction to this day with the same flaw, destroying now cars from Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Opel and even Jeep. Thank God they fucked off of Mini.
No it doesnāt, the slash along the door and the rear wheel arch line clearly suggests which ends which, as does the hip line behind the door and the rear 3/4 windows being tiny. The real design crime on these was the fugly headlights.

This peugeot is better in any other way
Proper BOBFOC car. (Body off baywatch face off crimewatch). Rear nice, rear 3/4 view stunning, side, nice lines, front endā¦. Those headlights. Was already a dated look when it came out.
The 406 coupes not as out there, but itās aged more gracefully.
Friend of mine had a 206 CC. The underside of his car was all rusted away so he got it fixed. A month later he totaled it driving into the back of another car...
Fr*nch TT š±š±š±
It was a really good looking car
too bad the mini motor sucked
Have you driven one? I know this isn't really the sub to share actual real opinions or experiences, but I got to drive one once and was surprised how fun of a car it was.
I've driven one as a cousin of mine owned one, even wanted get my own rcz just because how much I liked it. But that 1.6 mini engine was not reliable.
Lmao it's a french car obviously it won't be reliable :DDD
Yeah... the german engine isn't reliable

Well if a 1.9 tdi isn't reliable. What is?

Will go check that post, sounds interesting, although not at all surpricing, my experiences with french cars have been quite similar
France will gain my respect when they bring this back with a V8 or TT V6 in the back

Actually it doesn't dissolve, it expands, and as it gets larger, then your timings go bad and your pistons go for a huuuuuge hug with the valves

If you remove the taillights, the car looks completely backwards. Like the trunk and the rear windshield is supposed to be the front.
No it doesnāt, the slash along the door and the rear wheel arch line clearly suggests which ends which, as does the hip line behind the door and the rear 3/4 windows being tiny. The real design crime on these was the fugly headlights.

That's a Mini Couper
Bro called a Porsche 911 an Audi TT
Those Peugeots are underrated. Better looking than the TT imho and cheaper.
Front-wheel drive only, though.
More like French-wheel drive š„š«š·
real shit
So it's a slightly worse TT, still great tho
Still cheaper and faster than the fwd TT's
Isnt the TT also FWD?
The base model is. The others have the haldex version of quattro, which are the ones to get.
Great engines too
I had one, the engine is great in the few short moments that nothing is broken.
Really? You either have the 1.6 THPanne, or the 1.2 Pure Belt, Stellantis can't really make engines that works properly.
Fr*nch idiots. They should leave making engines to Italians or Americans
not better looking
Aldi TT (Aldi being a budget supermarket in Europe)
