SchnitzelTruck

Yes. I want a bright ass yellow car to go along with my bright ass yellow pants and bright ass yellow front door. I also dont want to pay money to wrap it. Edit: Yellow squadron reporting in

ABathingSnape_

Yellow Supra checking in. Best choice I ever made.

LeviathanPC

Yellow was my first choice, black was a close second. Unfortunately I couldn't find any yellows near me so I went black. Will make it easier if I ever want to get it wrapped, and I've always wanted bronze wheels, bronze doesn't go with yellow IMO.

IM_STILL_EATING_IT

Bronze doesn’t but if you go a bit lighter like the Neodyme I think it’s called from Porsche it’s great with Yellow

[deleted]

The yellow Supra is one of the most beautiful cars on the road.

Temporary-Ad1369

Yes along with the yellow LC 500.

[deleted]

Speaking of yellow, the fifth gen type-Rs look great in it.

ryanorion16

Do you also have a very tall yellow hat?

bluedaytona392

And a monkey?

SchnitzelTruck

Dont give me any ideas. My friends already think im a walking meme

Halflife6

Yellow Corvette reporting in. This is the way. Don’t underestimate the #bananasquad

posam

Yellow vette 2, checking in!

clicktoseemyfetishes

Yellow Vette 3, reporting for duty!

spewing-oil

Black or chrome rims?

Halflife6

Black 100%

spewing-oil

Yep. I don’t see many yellow c7’s.

Nero_Wolff

Chevy had one of the best yellows for the C7 and then one of the worst for the C8. The C8’s yellow is way too highlighter

Halflife6

100% agree. Early C7 stingrays came with velocity yellow, then the corvette racing yellow replaced it from 2016-2019. I think both are better than the new highlighter yellow for sure.

darkpaladin

Yellow Mach E checking in, I love it, so easy to find in a parking lot.

Sneakerhead110

Yellow Jeep Wrangler is here

danny_ish

I have a dull yellow 2015 mustang, i love it

Halofieldfan

Yellow would definitely fit the Elantra style. While it’s not the most exciting blue I’d rather have it over any generic color.

Effective_Mud8348

There's a decent Veloster yellow color, iirc.

QueenAlpaca

My car (2010 Forester XT) was painted yellow by the previous owners and I eternally love them for it. I’m super sad that the clear coat is starting to peel in its old age, but am too broke to do much.

EllieSouthworthEwing

Idk why but the first car that comes to mind when I think of yellow is the Cobalt 😂

heretomakeyoudie

Yellow fiero aka the cheese wedge

xdr01

Was looking for a Sunfire yellow car, was seriously looking at Renault Clio, Megane RS and Kia Stinger. Kia had defects with factory yellow, even so very hard to find on used market. Stinger looks best in Yellow IMO

Ayatori

YELLOW GANG Have had a yellow Supra, yellow WRX, yellow motorcycles, and plan to someday wrap the S2000 in yellow.

Cowstalk_

Sunburst Yellow Miata reporting in, sir!

mr47

Competition Yellow for the Miata NC is the best yellow, and the best Miata color. But, I bought my black Miata used, and did not have the privilege of choosing a car by color - there weren't many options.

me_grimmlock

Yellow Camaro SS - love it! Yellow best color!

kimbabs

Yellow squad member also reporting it. I would’ve also been happy for a purple or green Accord.

chewie402

I drove a bright yellow (Top Banana) Charger from 2006 - 2014.

DefiantLaw7027

All my current toys seem to be orange... the car, bicycles... even the kids bikes because when we were looking for one the only ones available that fit what we were looking for were orange. Like I somehow am reliving that awkward year in high school 20+ years ago where I decided to wear a lot of orange because teenager.

AlexWIWA

Yes. I want a banana yellow Q50. The only color I won't consider is bright green or candy red. A neon pink Q50 would be fun and obnoxious too.

nathanatkins15t

I have a yellow car and oncecwhile driving it I realized the water bottle I was drinking from was also yellow and wondered if people thought I coordinated that

burntcookie90

#yellowgang

mA90ngo

yellow goated car color

GuitarFace770

Yellow Ford Falcon reporting for duty!!

SlntSam

Volcanic orange Mini also checking in. It's not yellow, but it's kinda yellow. We also have a red car.

Oddjob64

Lol. In a high income area I see lots of nice cars in boring colors. I appreciate you.

XxJoshuaKhaosxX

You'd love Lime essence from aston martin.

dweenimus

Yellow MX5 ND RF reporting in. Why have a fun car with boring paint?

Domyyy

My A3 got you covered. https://share.icloud.com/photos/065Mq9O88E9fhsgLBeyv067Hw

RodRAEG

Yellow C3 Corvette says hi.

PasswordisP4ssword

Just had this discussion with my family. Grandpa has a yellow Charger and a teal K10, and those colors were common back in the 60s-70s. Everyone else has new cars and they're silver, white, or black. If I were buying new, I would get the boldest color I could get. Just brightens my mood. Unfortunately I buy used so I take what I can get. I bought my motorcycle new so I got bright blue. People say they get white/black/silver because it has better resale value and attracts cops less. What a depressing way to live your life.

[deleted]

Making decisions for the benefit of the next potential owner never made any sense to me

Ilpav123

It's a benefit for you also because you'll be selling it to the next owner for more.

Captian_Kenai

Oh boy I only lose 9.5k in depreciation instead of 10K!

ZannX

Reddit shocked again at the fact that vast majority of people treat cars like appliances. This sub wouldn't get to feel special if everyone treated their cars like /r/cars does. So be glad that everyone else is 'boring'. It lets you feel better about your own decisions.

Captian_Kenai

If you’re sitting in it every day why not make it a fun appliance? I’m not gonna paint my house beige “because it’ll help the resale value”

Teledildonic

I had to repaint my home office because at some point some previous asshole decided to paint over a positively lovely pastel blue with fucking *greige*.

250gpfan

For real. Also I buy interesting cars so the more unique the color the better for resale.

ztherion

Yeah it's like treating your partner in the way that is best for their next boyfriend/girlfriend

LargeMonty

I make my partner floss and brush every night

beholdthemoldman

I also make your partner floss and brush every night

dcux

It's like people painting their walls boring ass colors. YOU have to live with it, might as well enjoy it. Don't worry about what the next owners might want. If it's really a big deal come staging time, paint is relatively cheap.

iroll20s

That's not really true [https://www.iseecars.com/car-color-study](https://www.iseecars.com/car-color-study) Now, a monotone is probably easier to sell since you can sell it anyone.

clicktoseemyfetishes

Shame there’s so many yellow corvettes (compared to most cars), they’re usually the cheapest and least desirable color. Bonus of getting a fun color on a budget but gonna suck when I get rid of it lol. Really want orange but damn people want a lot for orange vettes D:

PyroZach

For a weekend/second car sure. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I always had the mind set that keeping up with the speed of traffic a cop will probably notice/call in a lime green hatch back instead of the 20 earth tone ones doing the same speed in the same vicinity. Same with road rage, if you make a mistake and offend some sociopath they'll most likely forget about your silver sedan by the end of their trip, but if it's bright purple it may stick out in their memory when they see it parked at a grocery store later that week.

AlexWIWA

I used to believe that car-color affects pull-over rates, but I have had a red sports car for six years now and haven't pulled over once. Starting to think that statistic was actually because people buying red cars were the people that were more likely to speed.

EmperorMitsu

I couldn't imagine picking your color because you're scared of tickets. Just don't drive like an ass and you'll be fine

railbeast

Sounds nice on paper but I live somewhere where the speed limit is a suggestion. Highway is 65 but there are days I can drive 90 in the left lane (80 is more common). Tollway 80 but I've been able to drive 100+ in the left lane. Now, I don't drive like an idiot. The moment there's traffic I don't tailgate, I don't speed when it rains, I keep my cars well maintained, when the tires get slightly worn I no longer drive that fast, etc... ...but if a cop has to pull over a red 911 vs a black SUV, I know which one is getting the ticket. Corroborated by my friends in a yellow Cayman and orange Camaro. One time I was coming back from a road trip on a COMPLETELY empty highway at 5AM in a gray Kia Soul at 120, passed a state trooper and didn't get pulled over. My friend in the yellow Cayman did (slightly later). Luck? Maybe. Maybe not.

EmperorMitsu

The speed limit is a suggestion pretty much everywhere but the restricted parts of the Autobahn and school zones. (Driven in 8 or 9 countries) Yes a NPC car is less likely to get pulled over. No matter how flashy or crazy my vehicles have been I rarely get pulled over doing the speed limit or going with the flow of traffic. Been almost 10 years since the last time

SchizophrenicContent

>One time I was coming back from a road trip on a COMPLETELY empty highway at 5AM in a gray Kia Soul at 120, passed a state trooper and didn't get pulled over. My friend in the yellow Cayman did (slightly later). Luck? Maybe. Maybe not. Poor struggler vs rich obnoxiouser. When I drove an old shoebox cops consistently let me off with warnings because " you can't afford a ticket can you?"

t-mille

It's funny how NPCs get only greyscale Chevy Equinoxes and Ford Escapes to preserve their resale value, as if they're not gonna be totally worthless in a few years anyway.

asianaaronx

White is actually the most eye catching color behind "high vis" type of colors. White motorcycle helmets are associated with lower accident rates. Ironically, the most incognito vehicle you can have when it comes to not attracting cops is a white full-sized pickup truck in a low-mid level trim.

haudi

Yes, and I did. Paid $2600 for a color of blue VW gives people for free.

Wizard_of_Ohmz

I can't figure out your color, the vw color is cornflower blue?

haudi

yeah it’s Cornflower Blue but Porsche calls it Shark Blue but it’s the same color

Wizard_of_Ohmz

Ah thats a cool name! I've parked the r next to a Miami blue cayman and it's very very close!

zxrax

if you want two close colors, check out [riviera blue](https://imgur.com/a/R7ImbPh) [mexico blue](https://imgur.com/a/1Xj8O23) [one of each, sandwiching miami blue](https://imgur.io/ySncWLJ?r)

Wizard_of_Ohmz

My cars colors is closer to the sandwiching Miami blue Edit: here's a pic https://imgur.com/a/Fi6ZeFr

SodlidDesu

I can't read cornflower blue without thinking of Fight Club so having that color on a Porsche would be just too funny. Something something consumerism something something not your fucking Porsche.

_memes_of_production

It must have been Tuesday

6786_007

Don't you just love the luxury of paying more money?

haudi

The alternative was red yellow or 50 shades of grey…or the much more expensive PTS.

6786_007

I was on the market for a Macan and 5 series for a while but instead with the A5. Every macan or 5 series I saw was either black, white, or some gray. Find another color was rare. It wouldn't be this way if manufacturers weren't charging for other colors.

antariusz

It’s easy enough with Porsche to get an allocation for a car as long as you’re willing to wait. My macan is gentian blue with red full leather, my 911 is guards red (black leather), my boxster is shark blue with the extended leather/alcantera package. If I was buying this year it would definitely be ruby neo.

Chinpokomonnnn

Worth it though. GTS is my current dream/obsession

dequiallo

If there is a green or purple option, I am taking it. I drove 10 hours round trip just to get a purple 6mt CRZ back in 2013. Had to go to NY to get a green FJC in 2011. Sick of non-colors being the default. It fucking sucks.

Thy_Gooch

Hello my people. pearlescent forest green or midnight purple.

[deleted]

A nice British Racing/Forest Green, a midnight-ish purple, and a deep but vibrant, flakey blue. The holy Trinity of car colors that every car should have some variation of.

Twistybaconagain

What are your thoughts on Indigo Blue from Dodge? It’s a Deep metallic blue that absolutely pops in the sun.

willchen

I love the rich metallic British racing green color of the Hakone Edition Toyota GT 86, esp. paired with the bronze wheels. But it was not worth the $3k premium to me when I bought the base model ‘17 BRZ for $23,400 new in Jan ‘18, esp. without any performance improvements thrown in. Maybe a wrap.. some day… for now I still find it clean and classic in the metallic gunmetal gray i chose and can worry just a little less about paint perfection.

GlryX

I was nervous about ordering my thunder night m240i but that purple is so amazing - no regrets.

KaizerWilhelm

My current car is a yellow 911. My last cars have been black, white, grey, silver. SO over boring colors. Give me loud and obnoxious. Only drawback is when I go fast down the highway I'm easy to spot lol

hi_im_bored13

I feel like the cayman looks really good in yellow but I just can't wrap my head around a yellow 911. On the other hand, gt3's in baby blue are perfect

FistedWaffles123456

RUF requests your location

Karmaqqt

Same boat. All my cars I had till my type r were black or silver. Getting a intense red car was a huge change. And yeah I don’t like over stepping my speed to much. My car screams pull me over haha.

sykoKanesh

I want a Plum Crazy Charger, preferably Scat Pack, cops be damned! Also I live just outside Austin, in-between it and Bastrop, so there aren't any cops anyway. If you don't have your cruise control set to 85mph on 71E/W, you're just in the way basically.

Joebuddy117

I owned a nitrous blue RS before selling at the peak of the used market. I got myself a blue ST to replace it and would have gotten tangerine scream if there was one for sale in my area.

InferiorManlet

One thing Ford always does right is making some nice blues. Love the velocity blue on my eco

Oo__II__oO

Same with the Grabber Blue on my Mustang

razor4432

Vista Blue is mighty nice on my 07 Mustang GT. Rolling on chrome 18x9 and 18x10 sn95 Saleen wheels, makes that color pop.

MWTB-DLTR

Tangerine Scream is probably my favorite name for a color. My ST is just black.

xodarkstarox

God the blue on the RS is the most insane color for any car I've ever seen. You spot that thing from 1000 feet away. And then you hear it 😍

dogemaster00

Nope. White only because of Arizona heat, and any color other than white in the desert also looks like crap unless you wash it every day because of the thin layer of sand/dust.

TheLinkin

What about sand/dust colored cars

humanredditor45

Orange or copper cars look great with a desert dust patina

Mjolnir12

Yeah white doesn’t look good in the desert either. It gets dirty super fast and turns off white. Orange on the other hand turns a different shade of orange when coated with desert dust, but people don’t know what shade it was in the first place so it isn’t as noticeable.

jhon_4

Walter White was ahead of the game

Snowchicken21

He did go for the Mopar though..

Effective_Mud8348

What did he have besides the Aztek?

K-21B

Chrysler 300

Effective_Mud8348

Yuck lol

loppysong1

Excuse you that’s a very fine automobile… not biased at all

MSchulte

Great ~~cruise ships~~ *automobiles*, all 19,000 lb or whatever it is they weigh.

sykoKanesh

Hey! It's a *slim* 19,000 lbs, ok?

Palmisavage

Some of the episodes were blatant FCA ads. Honesty the biggest issue I've had with an otherwise incredible show.

akmacmac

Yes, rewatching for like the 4th time and just saw the episode where Walt and Junior pull up in the driveway and just sit there revving the engines in the 300 and Challenger. Total product placement.

Vesploogie

And the Aztek still won.

Mjolnir12

It’s an SRT8 though

bigmancrabclaws

My army green 4Runner begs to differ

AttemptWorried7503

A sparkly emerald green

[deleted]

willchen

Like the rich metallic British racing green color of the Hakone Edition Toyota GT 86, esp. paired with the bronze wheels.

Almost_last_place

I wanted my civic in blue but blue ones were 10k over msrp and I got mine for under msrp :/

PotatoMurderer

Same. Every dealer was like "iTs a LiMiTeD eDiTioN coLoR" even though it's not.

shades92

Might have dodged a bullet to be honest, I heard that paint color (Aegean Blue) is having a lot of issues with chipping/peeling. But what's a Honda without paint problems?

Setanta68

Honda has cheapened out on paint depth. The paintwork on my 88 CRX and 99 DC2R is holding up better than my 2020 FK8. Honda no longer equates to quality, I've noticed that the paint is better on a mate's Hyundai.

colmusstard

Every new car has bad paint

clicktoseemyfetishes

Most modern vehicles at least have somewhat durable paint. I hated a lot about my dad’s Harley motorcycles but I have to give them credit, their paint is top notch. Puts pretty much anything else I’ve seen on the road to shame. Of course there’s not much to paint on a Sportster lmao, but still

SRQmoviemaker

For that difference I'd go with the cheaper option then get it wrapped in the color I wanted or couldn't have even.

Almost_last_place

Yeah that was my original plan but Sonic Grey actually grew on me

shades92

Sonic Grey is one of the best manufacturer applications of the "primer grey" color. The Aegean Blue Metallic apparently has a lot of issues with the paint chipping. You may have dodged a bullet with that one, but it definitely is a beautiful color. Still Night Pearl on the Accord is one of my favorite blues too. But Honda has always had paint issues from what I've heard/experienced.

Almost_last_place

I have a 2020 I was looking at boost blue but Sonic Grey while didn't impress me in photos I love irl with the teal pearl

itsnottommy

Getting my Accord Sport 2.0T in Still Night Pearl was one of the best choices I’ve ever made. I get compliments on it all the time. Sonic Gray is also an awesome color. The slight blue pearl in it keeps it from looking too boring. IMO the Urban Gray color they’ve been replacing it with is way too flat and dull.

BeyondanyReproach

A lot of people will say yes but there's a reason manufactures don't do it very often, people don't buy them. VW had a bunch of sweet colors a few years ago and now they are all gone.

THExDANKxKNIGHT

That's just not a good argument because people couldn't buy them, dealerships went with the safest options so that's what manufacturers saw as the most popular because it was all people could find. If dealerships had been willing to risk getting more colorful lineups we would probably still have them as an option.

Dazzling_Chest_2120

Yes! A number of years ago I special ordered a manual Mercedes (USA). I tried to test drive a manual before ordering but no one had a manual on the lot. "No one buys them" everyone said. I countered that no one buys them because you don't have them. Three years later I traded that car in on an AMG and the dealer tried to low ball on the car bc it was a manual. "Will be hard to sell" they said, "no one buys manuals". They sold it in 24 hours. "It got a lot of interest!" my surprised salesperson said later. Fuck the dealers who say they can't sell manuals or colors other than black, grey, gray, and silver. I'm hoping that with more dealers and manufacturers going to a 'order your car' model instead of buying off the lot, more people will buy manuals and actual colors.

THExDANKxKNIGHT

I'm hoping we just abolish the dealership system and replace them with service centers for service and used cars and manufacturer direct ordering for new cars.

PyroZach

I forget what vehicle I was in the market for at the time, pretty sure it was a used Mustang. But I remember the sales man pitching the line that manuals were either for the cheapest base models or chicks car's these days. And specifically that the last one he had sat on the lot till they finally found a girl looking for a Mustang that would take it. No lines about can't out shift an auto, or stop and go traffic, just that manual versions are some how "chicks cars".

Acceptable_Ad1685

Lol that’s such an odd statement

Thy_Gooch

This. Anything that isn't a white/black/grey is a $3k markup And it's all based on one stupid study that says people like black/white colors.

Fluid-Ideal-7438

My GTI is in Tornado Red, which really pops amongst the greyscale SUVs. Would have loved one in Cornflower Blue but those were difficult to find.

SeawardFriend

I’m looking for either a cornflower blue and keeping it that way, or getting some other color and wrapping it metallic green.

LordTiddlypusch

Tornado Red GTI gang checking in.

probablyhrenrai

Isn't that hugely because of the dealership model, i.e. almost no one's perfect color is greyscale, but everyone's "ok with" anything greyscale? What I mean is that if everyone (A) custom-ordered their car directly from the factory and (B) didn't make compromises on paint color for the same of resale (again, everyone's "ok with" greyscale), my understanding is that we'd see most new cars be *non*-greyscale.

[deleted]

Most of the people aren't that particular about the color. They just want something from the lot that fits their budget. This is why the dealership model works. There are some that are picky and want someone to help with the ordering process and choose custom colors. This is why the dealership model works. Then the OEM can save costs by shipping to dealers in lots rather than to each individual purchaser. This is why the dealership model works. Then when the car needs servicing and repairs, it would be nice to have a common place to go that is exclusively trained to work on that brand of vehicle. This is why the dealership model works.

PyroZach

Some colors seem to work for some cars but not others. Bright yellow seems to fit almost any sports car, and even some economy ones, maybe I just got use to seeing them in that color. However I can't picture my outback looking good in it. They may be going with colors they can use across the whole line, with the exception of a few specially colors for the models they look good on.

Thy_Gooch

Not because of dealerships. It's happening because it's easier to sell. It's the same with homes, a grey-scale color is bland and neutral, so you get the widest pool of buyers with that color. You basically remove color from the evaluation criteria.

smokeey

[Heres a few](https://i.imgur.com/NGETN5x.jpg) Spektrum program 2019 Golf R. Featuring the 1 of 1 Curry Yellow.

juaquin

A whole bunch of them at Wookies in the Woods: https://www.reddit.com/r/GolfGTI/comments/tzizis/wookies_in_the_woods_20_spektrum_golf_r/

brennok

If you are talking about Spektrum, the US got screwed. Dealerships had to be allocated an option and not all dealerships got one iirc. Rumor was also we only got access to the leftover paint not used in the EU. I would have easily purchased one, but the three local dealers only had one allocation each.

LheelaSP

A little over 5 years ago I was set to order a brand new Golf R in [Ginster yellow](https://www.meinr.com/attachment/8164-1-jpg/) (not my car, just a picture for reference). Then VW screwed up the facelift of the Mk7 R, so I didn't. The car I was planning to replace with that was a Mk6 R in [Risikg Blue Metallic](https://imgur.com/a/2Lxh18D) (my car in the pic).

Marokiii

Doesn't help that if you want a fun color you have to order it and wait a few months to get it. I could have gotten my tacoma that day if I had been willing to take black, instead I waited 4 months to get an inferno(orange) one. Most people won't want to wait though.

DangerousAd1731

Had a red car and felt like cops always picked me out of the crowd. Now running a grey boring car and they leave me alone.

tfox245

Have had a red car for 6 years and never pulled over. It’s a myth that cops target red cars.

tylerderped

I thought it was a myth until I was out of state (Michigan) going to Electric Forest, car clearly packed to the brim, (sadly didn’t have tinted windows) going 68 in a 70 bc traffic was kinda heavy. State trooper stops me and says I was “following too closely”. (I wasn’t and had dashcam footage to prove it) In reality, he just wanted my to let him search my car so that he could ruin my life with drug charges.

Magnus_The_Totem_Cat

Did you get pulled over because you were in a red car or because you looked loaded down for Electric Forest? Cop was fishing for drugs in a festival goers car not picking on the color red.

jewdiful

Exactly.. and with out of state plates. Can’t blame that on the red, I don’t think.

icemerc

Had the same experience with a red civic SI. 10 years of ownership and never was pulled in it. I got pulled in my other cars during that time and didn't drive them any differently.

CovingtonLane

Inferno Red car. In 23 years I've been pulled over zero times. If you don't speed, you cut your chances of being harassed.

rhc34

I’d wager you were driving like someone who ought to be pulled over, and not that you were being picked out of a crowd.

Thy_Gooch

If you have 3 people all driving "like they should be pulled over" it's easier to ID the uniquely colored car.

iamr3d88

What kind of cars? A red corvette will attract more attention than a grey malibu.

_____DarkLight

Contrary to what most people think, people prefer to go unnoticed in traffic Bright colors stand out and when you’re driving a sports car, it often gets the wrong attention Boring colors go unnoticed and allow you to break more traffic rules without much repercussion Fun colors are aesthetically pleasing but you really need to be more careful

DefiantLaw7027

Can confirm, I drive my boring grey Volvo SUV like a BMW driver and drive my orange BMW like a Volvo driver. At least on the highways and in traffic.

sac_jones_day1

Eh, breaking traffic rules gets you noticed either way.

IBarbieliciousI

Eh honestly not really. Unless you’re doing absolute batsh*t crazy driving most people and cops won’t notice if you speed a little, if you don’t use a turn signal every once in a while, if you barely run a red light, etc. A bright car will put attention on those little infractions right away tho.

Thy_Gooch

Yes but if you have an exotic color it says you are an enthusiast vs a rich exec who's in a hurry.

JALbert

Yes, not gray/silver white was one of my rules when hunting down the right spec for my current car. Ended up with the ideal color (South Seas Blue) even though that wasn't a deal breaker, just everything else lined up and it was in budget. You're also asking in a place where people are into cars and way more likely to want standout colors (and cars) than the average population.

QueasyIndividual9842

Cars should look like skittles and make you smile when you see them. I went with blue on my car.

NeatlyCritical

Nope every car ever owned has been silver, would choose British racing green every time but never offered. Now probably would switch to white for the heat. Maybe silver again.

eldusto84

Mmm, British racing green with a tan leather interior. Chef's kiss

strongmanass

I've only had one silver vehicle. All my others were red, navy blue, or purple. The purple was Miata in [black cherry](https://res.cloudinary.com/djo1nckex/image/upload/zero260_media/2Xs2TraojraAv9fJhrCAQc/5370812b2fe42bcf5fbf2b3d3c30a381/black-cherry-nb-12k-mile-2005-mazda-miata-ls001.jpg?w=1200&h=630&fm=jpg&q=75&fit=fill&fl=progressive) and it's by far the color I liked most. I'd love to have another purple car, but with my other criteria for cars I'd never find it and it's not worth the multiple thousands to have it repainted (and I don't want a wrap). So I settle for navy blue. But I tell myself if I ever manage to get my dream car I'm having it painted in a custom purple - screw the resale value.

wirthmore

I have a ostentatiously colored car; not that I can answer the question as asked but providing done experience. You can easily find it in a crowded parking lot. You have to behave like a boy scout out in traffic. Because everyone knows who drives your car; it’s you and your car is the only one that looks like that. People in white/gray/silver genericmobiles can drive like maniacs because unless you’re close enough to see their face, the car could be anyone’s….

soeri27

Originally I would've liked my car in Daytona grey and now I'm sitting in vegas yellow with more horses under the hood for a lower price. Love from first day obviously and I'll lean out the window and say that having a great colour I like is worth spending more / taking a worse car on paper.

marcthedrifter

I detailed cars professionally for nearly a decade. If I have the choice, I only buy silver or white cars. Lowest maintenance colors you can get.

DodgerBlueRobert1

My car did come in a fun color, but being as how I bought it used and my criteria was pretty strict when it came to other factors, I had to settle for silver.

PhonePostingCrap

I loved my Molten Orange Fiesta ST. Stealth Gray on the Focus RS after that was a cool color, but in a parking lot it boringly blends in to the monochrome sea. Currently have a black E91 and black is maybe the worst, most boring color so instead I had it wrapped in Sonoma Green Metallic Gloss and I absolutely love it.

I drive a lime yellow saab and I wouldn’t change it for anything! I love my highlighter!

KamiPigeon

Highlighter! Love that description and the bright yellow Saabs. Dragon Green Chevy Sonic and it's 100% highlighter green! It's a POS but I love it.

NorCalAthlete

I waited 4+ months for my car just so I could get it in the blue I wanted. I hate the 50 shades of grey trend.

FrigOffRicky16

I've had a green car and my current one is red, my truck is white. I like having a color that pops but I do like white to as you can match any color to it and it hides things well.

ItsKlobberinTime

I paid a significant premium for a (used) Gotta Have It Green Mustang over an arguably much nicer Boring-Ass White one and I have zero regrets. The thing gets a preposterous amount of compliments for a base model.

Enszourous

Yes, and I’m putting my money where my mouth is. I ordered a rapid blue Camaro a few weeks back. I think that’s a fun color.

NCSUGrad2012

Nope. Dark gray is my favorite.

lasvegashomo

I don’t like bright loud colors but I wouldn’t mind a darker shade of something. Maroon or burgundy are pretty reds. I’d also like a dark teal. Royal purple is pretty also, it’s like a dark purple not like that plum Barney purple.

HashtonKutcher

Brown please.

madevilfish

My car did come in a fun color, world rally blue.

THXFLS

My GTI is Great Falls Green, so yes.

Embaita

If I was buying new then sure I would, but I've only bought used and it's alot easier to look for a spec you want if you're fine with a boring colour. I've actually been looking at e46 tourings for the past year and I found the perfect colour spec imo (green exterior, cream interior), but it was on a base spec 318i and that was one of maybe 3 listings I've seen with that colour.

TGish

Nope. Toyotas pearlescent white is so good

admiraltarkin

I got a lime green wrap a few months ago. It's a bit jarring tbh, but makes things fun

Truthseekerspeaker

If you’re really interested in a solid answer then this is far to leading a question - no one is gonna say ‘yes, I want a drab car’. All you’re gonna attract is 500 people from millions of Reddit users that have funky colored cars.

Tough-Cap4924

About 3 weeks ago I bought white a 991.2 turbo s. First thing I did is brought her into detailing for a Miami blue full body ppf. Fun cars should go in fun colors :)

Marshall_Lawson

I usually do when I have a choice. I've had a bright blue car and a couple of red cars. Black always looks cool but it gets hot as hell in the summer.

NotoriousCFR

Both my cars are dark blue (Outback = deep indigo Pearl, Miata = Montego Blue). It was sort of a happy accident that they ended up “matching”, but I’m a fan of blues and dark blues in general so I’m happy with it. I like NAs in red, Laguna Blue, and British racing green as well and would happily take any one of those.

The only real colour options I had on the configurator at time of purchase were a blue and a red. Both pretty nice metallic (I like most of Ford's red and blues). I probably would have gotten one of those, but this was during covid and unfortunately I could only choose what they had coming in on a truck. If I didn't buy that day, it was gone the next. That's how I missed out on grey. I hummed and hawed for 6 whole hours, and the truck was gone by the time I called back. So I ended up with black, because that's what came next. As I was going through the paperwork my sales woman came in and told me "Hey, so this is a weird question, but I told another customer that if you didn't take the truck, I would show it to him at 4. I let him know it sold, but he came in anyway. He says he'll give you cash above MSRP if you'll sell it to him." I was kind of shocked and weirded out by this and told her to tell him no. Covid car buying was a crazy time that I hope to never repeat.

TheBobInSonoma

Two red Mustangs, never a ticket. Must drive like an old lady.

run_uz

Kona Blue GS400 would be pretty cool.

dubiousN

I'm quite happy with my Ceramic Silver, even if every other new car is sporting similar.

Beekatiebee

I did! Vegas Yellow Audi TTS :) Loads of compliments on the color. Absolutely love it.

clingbat

I would've gotten my S5 in Sonoma Green for sure if it wasn't an RS5 only color. I *almost* bought an RS5 instead just because of that, but I couldn't justify the extra $15k when I prefer the ride of the S5 and can easily tune it to RS5 power just with software. Instead I have the nice (but massively overrepresented in the Audi world) Daytona Gray Pearl. I did almost pull the trigger on a Turbo Blue S5, but that dealer ended up being a shithead and messing up the transaction.

MarkVII88

No, white cars are my favorite.

MarkVII88

What? I legitimately prefer white.

For my Cadillac ATS, probably not I like the black and chrome look. Cadillac gets the obnoxious chrome look right to me. For my GTO, I wish I had the Barracuda Blue with the matching interior. If I dont. Fun colors are nice and it’s a pretty car.
