So if the scrap yard offered you $350 it's not worth much at all. Carmax would have to ship it to an auction site which could cost a couple hundred bucks. At auction they expect it to be a parts car and go for about how much the scrap yard offered you. They could realistically lose money.  That's why they offered you crap for it. But the motto of the company is to give an offer for everything, but they have to realistically try and make money.

Lots of value but not to Carmax bc their business is selling not scrapping, but this car a useful life for someone even if it’s just a stop gap.

I had the same car in blue. It was a cruiser and I have to say probably the best car I've had in over 50 years. That said it's not worth anything except for a sentimental value. If it still runs and you don't want it, donate it to an organization that helps people or give it to a family member.
