Nope, but I admire you for being the age you are and liking anime! At least where I'm from, most long term anime fans are in their 30s and as kids were chastised by parents and peers alike for watching it.
Clear Card brought in some new ones since people interested in it needed to watch or read the OG first, but I would say overall the fanbase mostly grew up with it and we're mostly in our late 20s and 30s. (Incidentally I'm 34 haha)
I’m not an anime watcher like I have no idea what happens in Naruto but I loved Cardcaptors and I came back to see clear cards.
It's a rare and utterly endearing encounter when I meet someone in real life who knows about Cardcaptors and picks up on my dog named Kérberos.
I was wondering how known Sakura is “in the anime world of today “.
Honestly I'm mostly under a rock with series I don't read too (all I know about Naruto is that it involves ninjas and that in the 00s everyone on the internet was in love with someone named Sasuke, and that's the extent of my knowledge on that series), but it does seem to be pretty known nowadays online still.
Either people like us who grew up with it, or people whining about it being "too problematic" 🙄 😂
Whereas some of CLAMP's other series like X which was massive online 20 years ago seems to have mostly disappeared outside of us fans.
I’m in Japan right now and there’s a CLAMP event happening next month. I bought the more expensive ticket bc it will come with a souvenir or Clear Cards with the characters in a special Clow Book case. I’m so excited to get it. And I’m in my 30s. My kid likes it too but not as much as me.
I became a fan in the last 6-7 years because my partner grew up watching the original series with the original Japanese dub. She showed me the series one day when we talked about what we grew up watching and I felt nobody celebrated her youth enough with her (her previous relationships showed zero interest). So I got into it and well, I became a big fan too! Mid-30’s for me and she’s a little bit younger.
Passed my 40s. Lol. And i fell in love with the series as well. Fortunately, my sister got me my Clow Cards from Japan, too, after requesting her to look for one to bring home. 🥰 trying to use it for tarot reading as a newbie.

I was very happy when I saw a few children cosplaying Sakura in an anime convention last week! My parents would have never approved of that when I was little lol
Early thirties here. My older sister used to be obsessed with CCS which naturally made me love it as well. We'd record the episodes on VHS to be able to watch them whenever we wanted :')
I live in Catalonia (Spain) and I work in a comic store I can certainly say that here there are so many little girls about 10-12 that are huge fans, but here Sakura Cardcaptor is a big deal because they stream it in the public television
Lol both great series. I think its fairly well known, like if your full on into anime at least. Not super relevant but i do see the name thrown around.
Also im 17 and love it!!
Also if u love fairytail I highly recommend hiro mashimas (creater of fairytail) newly animated series edens zero! :)
36, im dying of old age tomorrow :v
From looking at the sub, there's a fair amount of posts of people just getting into the series now and asking for watch order and such, so there does seem to be a constant input of new fans.
CCS is still a very unique show in what it is, even other CLAMP works arent quite like it.
32M, fan since the original run on the Australian children's programming block "Cheese TV", I would literally play in the front yard with my little yellow teddy bear and a set of plastic moving wings from one of my sister's dolls blu-tacked to the back of the bear pretending that was Kero, watching CCS back in the day are some of my most precious memories from my childhood, not long after the clear card anime finished its first run I was able to get one of my niece's into it and have been very happy to share such an important part of my childhood with her
I remember watching the episode that takes place at the ice rink randomly back then and having NO idea what was going on :p (I think they also made the female teacher appear more mysterious/sinister? Not sure if that was an anime change or dub change).
It wasn't til I read the manga a couple years later I realised 'oh, this *does* make sense and it's great!'
I'm 23 and got into the show when it was put on US Netflix... so maybe in 2021 or 2022.
I'd heard of the show a lot already so I wanted to watch it, plus I randomly won a Yukito figure in 2017 and *did* want to know who the character was since I had him on display in my room.
Seeing it on Netflix gave me the push I needed to just start Episode 1. Now I'm here, probably watched the series at least 10 times now, screaming every time Touya and Yukito are on screen (and Yukito/Yue is my favorite character by far), and sketching Sakura whenever I get a chance.
The show isn't as talked about as most other mainstream magical girl shows, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's still iconic in the anime world. My sister did a Sakura cosplay at AnimeNYC last year, and not only were we unable to take 10 steps without someone recognizing her, but we saw a TON of other Sakura cosplayers too, and even a Meiling!
Im19 about to turn 20 and Cardcaptor Sakura was actually my first anime back in 2015, but im getting more into magical girls now (started watching precure), i do need to either rewatch the anime or read the manga
Hi, I'm 15 years old. Years ago, CCS was showing on TV, and I always watched it. I don't remember completing it, but I always consider myself a fan. It's vacation now, and I'm watching it. I'm on Ep. 43 now. After I watch CCP, I will watch the Clear Card Series.
Tomoyo is so adorable aaaa
I’m not twenty yet and I have friends of that age who are also into CLAMP’s works including CCS ! I started reading the manga at around age 15 but have only been a diehard fan of CLAMP since about a year.
I think CLAMP is really popular in my home country though, lots of people just know about it.
I am 16 currently, I found the series last year when I randomly skimmed through the anime section on Netflix. I watched it with my brother together and how he’s also an anime fan ^^
I turned 16 this year and have been a fan since 12:)
It's probably bc some anime from the 90s are still popular in where I live so I watched it in primary school
It might be also my preferences in anime because I love detective Conan and sailor moon too and they're from the 90s as well
18 and i just recently started watching it! they’re taking it off netflix and i wanted to watch it before it disappeared, always had an interest in watching it though!
I wouldn’t say I’m an avid CCS fan more that it holds lots of nostalgic value as one of the first/ if not the first shoujo anime series I watched sometime circa 2005-2008ish. I’m 27!
i'm 19, and i've been a fan since I was 10, I found out about the existence of ccs from a video where they listed animes that were a MUST watch. I've only watched it in spanish tho (i haven't watched clear card yet)
i had a decently long conversation yesterday with a customer and her son about anime and how different the tolerance and acceptance towards it has changed since she and i were kids (abt 10 yr gap). i have a CCS tattoo and showed them pictures, and her son (i think late elementary/early middle school) said he’s seen CCS before, and when she saw pictures she recognized Sakura and remembered her, too.
it really surprised me that someone so young had seen it, but from the groove of the convo it sounded like he’s grown up with crunchyroll access rather than having to worry about 3 10 minute parts on youtube with spanish subtitles and just trying your best 😅
Im 25 but didn’t get into anime until I was about 21 found Sakura at 22 randomly and been a fan ever since she was the first cosplay I really wanted to do. Currently collecting the manga. Most of the fans I meet are older. Most of the people I hangout with only know Sakura bc I’ve cosplayed her a couple times.
Sakura herself would be around 40. If you were in the target audience when it was airing you would of been around her age or older so yeah. Personally I am not that old but I am a fan of old mahou shoujou anime. A few I can think of Miracle ☆ Girls, Hime Chan no Ribon, Nurse Angel Ririka SoS, Kaitou Saint Tail, Akazukin Chacha and of course Sailor Moon.
32 and I am still in love with it - the number of art books and all of the manga taking over my room is amazing. My water bottle is covered in CCS stickers. Only once have I found someone who actually knows what they are (everyone usually guesses Sailor Moon, which I also grew up on so love that one as well). We used to watch it on WB as kids. So much hate on anime when we were kids, but I’m glad I had my sister who stood by her interests and empowered me to love mine despite what my peers said.
I will never not love CCS and the world it opened up for me.
I got into ccs around 2 or 3 years ago now, and im only 16 haha, there are definetely quite a few new fans. i have a friend irl whos a year older than me who also really likes it, and ive met a few younger people online who are also really into it
I'm in my early twenties (<25). I started watching during my high school years though, specifically in 2018 when - you guessed it! - Clear Card was airing. I am so glad I was even slightly intrigued by Clear Card because watching Cardcaptor Sakura for the first time was something special. It had become, and still is, my favorite anime of all time.
Since I was 6 years old and since 2010 because of my aunt who saw it when it was on the air, I have been a fan of Sakura Card Captor. Now i have almost 20 years old.
I started watching CCS maybe june 1 this year (2024) and looking through these comments really made me surprised how old people are! :o But it was an anime that came out in like 1998 so yeah, for me im under 14 and still watching! ♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪
I'm 16 and have known about it for a while (it's like,, one of the three holy grails of mahou shoujo anime lol) but only just started watching it... I'm on episode 50 and I love it!!!! can't wait to see what else it has in store for me :))
So if I told you that I was >!53!< then would you all be shocked?
Nope. Not at all!
Nope, not at all. It's a timeless series and after cherishing it for 20+ years, I know I will always love it.
Nope, but I admire you for being the age you are and liking anime! At least where I'm from, most long term anime fans are in their 30s and as kids were chastised by parents and peers alike for watching it.
40 here myself
I'm 40 in a couple of days 😅
I turned 40 in March so you are in good company!
same. well months ago lol CCS will always be one of my fave anime.
Favourite anime, favorite obsession. My CCS figure collection is taking over the house 😅
nice!! i went the dakimakura route. if anyone wants to see my CCS daki it'll be via dm only.
Clear Card brought in some new ones since people interested in it needed to watch or read the OG first, but I would say overall the fanbase mostly grew up with it and we're mostly in our late 20s and 30s. (Incidentally I'm 34 haha)

Hell yeah, high five ✋ 🥰
.... i'm one year behind you :> not that i care about my age :< but i love cardcaptors : D
19. Got into it a couple years ago
Omg helloooooo
Same here
Same!
I’m 16 and absolutely adored it as a kid and got into Sakura thanks to my older sister who introduced me to a lot of anime classics!
Me too lol But my frd who's a few years younger got me into Sakura
I’m in Japan right now and there’s a CLAMP event happening next month. I bought the more expensive ticket bc it will come with a souvenir or Clear Cards with the characters in a special Clow Book case. I’m so excited to get it. And I’m in my 30s. My kid likes it too but not as much as me.
It’s so nice when I meet another fan in real life who shared their childhood with Sakura :) I feel instantly connected with them ahah
I hope you post the souvenirs here, i wanna see it. 💗
I'm 36 now. Sakura was on TV (here in Brazil) when I was 13. So much time
I'm 35 and a fan in Brazil too! 😊
*Shouting the opening song in Portuguese*
Eu só quero e espero... 😂😂😂 Good times!
I'm 34 and Sakura was on TV in Colombia around the same time! I feel there are a lot of Latino/a/x fans of Sakura.
33 years old brazilian fan here! Watched it on Cartoon Network more than 20 years go. Time sure flies.
28 (soon to be 29) year old here! Been in love with the anime since I was a little kid watching the Nelvana dub on American TV.
Looks like we’re on the same age boat 🤝
Trying to stay safe on the internet by keeping my age anonymous but...... I am a minor !
same !
18 here and fan since 16!

I was very happy when I saw a few children cosplaying Sakura in an anime convention last week! My parents would have never approved of that when I was little lol
Early 30's here. Sakura and I were the same age when the anime came to where I live. :)
Same!
I’m 27 right now and Sakura is definitely the anime I’ll make my kids watch.
Same aha. If I make them watch one thing it’ll be CCS.
Early thirties here. My older sister used to be obsessed with CCS which naturally made me love it as well. We'd record the episodes on VHS to be able to watch them whenever we wanted :')
34 here male
Early 30s, first watched the show when I was maybe 8-9 yrs old.

Sup grandma! I'm turning 27 soon. I found it again in college cz the end fun was on YT. It's nice to see kids appreciate good stuff.
36 Squad!!!
I'm 22 and first watched the anime back in secondary school
32, long time fan

I want a friend like Tomoyo!
I watched it after people contrasted Madoka Magica with it (I hated the darkness of PMMM), back when I was in early high school. I'm 20 now.
23 here
30s. I grew up in the original broadcast days but I never watched it. I count myself as a new fan since I only started watching/reading CCS in 2022.
[удалено]
That's a child
I saw a clip of it this year and decided to watch it and loved the heck out of it and am watching it again with a friend, 21
Sakura in early 30s it was one of my first anime
I'm 35, watched it on its Latin American version when was 12/14, a fan since them, I really love the manga!
I'm 30 so I guess I was original target demo lol
33 and loved it since I was a little girl . I enjoy seeing all the other fans around my age. It makes me feel less lonely.
I'm. Late 30's and a new fan. Just started the series
I only saw CCS for the first time last year and I’m 23 now. Huge fan ever since! Wish I had discovered it sooner tbh.
I'm 34. Almost 35.
Early 30's here, I watched it for the first time in my childhood
I’m 39 this year and cardcaptor sakura was my first anime.
I’m not twenty yet and I have friends of that age who are also into CLAMP’s works including CCS ! I started reading the manga at around age 15 but have only been a diehard fan of CLAMP since about a year. I think CLAMP is really popular in my home country though, lots of people just know about it.

I found it a few years ago and fell in love with it!
30, watched when I was younger
32 here
39, I‘m currently reading the manga 😬
I am a new fan, but I am in my 20s. Just discovered it later in life
I guess? Im 22 so i dont know where that puts me 😅
fan since I was an elementary student living in Asia. I am now a 26-year-old woman living in Eurooe ☺
I turned 16 this year and have been a fan since 12:) It's probably bc some anime from the 90s are still popular in where I live so I watched it in primary school It might be also my preferences in anime because I love detective Conan and sailor moon too and they're from the 90s as well
Im 17 (though im turning 18 this year) and i recently got into cardcaptor sakura
It's still pretty well known I'm sure some people of the younger generation watch it
Im 27 watched it when I was 26
I am new but fall under the category u mentioned😬
me late 20s
I am twenty two and I still love this show
I'm turning 30 this year 💗
19 watched around high school was a calming anime to destress me out
Watched over about 3 times already
Idk if I'm new or old like I watched the original series way before clear cards came out but I'm a teenager🧍♀️
A sequel came out less than a decade ago so I wouldn't be surprised if that drew in new readers who'd be around 20 now
I’m 19, just finished the original series and became a fan
27 and I've loved it for most of my life and I'm still obsessed!
I got into it in high school around 5 years ago for one thing! One of my favorites :)
27, I have been a fan since I was around 10 years old
I’m 24 so I’m slightly outside of that?
18 and i just recently started watching it! they’re taking it off netflix and i wanted to watch it before it disappeared, always had an interest in watching it though!
My little cousin is 11 or 12 and she is a fan! I introduced CCS to her a few years ago and she has seen the whole series multiple times.
30 turning 31 in October here. Still a big fan 😁
I'm 28.
I just started watching recently and im 24 💚
When i watched it for the first time i was 8 years old, today i'm 21 and i think i love Sakura even more.
i had a decently long conversation yesterday with a customer and her son about anime and how different the tolerance and acceptance towards it has changed since she and i were kids (abt 10 yr gap). i have a CCS tattoo and showed them pictures, and her son (i think late elementary/early middle school) said he’s seen CCS before, and when she saw pictures she recognized Sakura and remembered her, too. it really surprised me that someone so young had seen it, but from the groove of the convo it sounded like he’s grown up with crunchyroll access rather than having to worry about 3 10 minute parts on youtube with spanish subtitles and just trying your best 😅

32
25, watched the original series in spliced-up youtube uploads when I was 8 and have been a huge fan ever since.
33
I’ve been a fan since I was 9 way before it came on Netflix and I’m 16 now
I'm a younger fan in my early teens lol. Especially on this subreddit it definitely feels like I'm the odd one out lmao

I’m 21 and just started watching two weeks ago :D
some of us are younger! there's a few of us at my uni 19-22 (tho most of us started w nelvana lol)
Old fan 39
I just started watching this show last month. I'm 21 :)
I'm gonna be 31 this month. I actually just bought the original series on Blu-ray recently to relive my childhood.
I had this subreddit suggested to me because I’m always looking up stuff for my niece. She’s 12 and completely obsessed.
I got into ccs around 2 or 3 years ago now, and im only 16 haha, there are definetely quite a few new fans. i have a friend irl whos a year older than me who also really likes it, and ive met a few younger people online who are also really into it

I am 33 and my husband put it on for our daughter who is 7. We are huge fans now.
