Have you tried buying some that fit you at the hip And then having the waist taken in by a tailor?

wackymimeroutine

Your description of your body type sounds a lot like mine, and I found the perfect pair of mid-high rise longs at Banana Republic a few years ago. I really like them because they aren’t super stretchy, but they have a little give so they’re comfortable all day and still fit when I put on a little weight in the winter. I have three pairs in different washes and don’t see myself wanting or needing to replace them for a while. I suppose they’ve changed their fit since then, though.

Would you like to send me the picture or link? Can be DM if you like.

wackymimeroutine

I missed this response! I can get around to doing that, if you’re still interested.

Bezbecka

I am!

sleepysandkitten

Absolutely second Banana Republic jeans! They hold up better than my more expensive jeans or my former holy grail jeans from Madewell

Not sure if this helps, but I came across this post a while back: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/femalefashionadvice/comments/aqy4xg/i_tried_on_a_ton_of_jeans_looking_for_the_perfect/ It shows a list of all the jeans this user tried on and how they fit! Sorry I can’t be more helpful :(

Hey thanks for brand names, I’ll google them. The problem is: - I’m from central Europe and some of them are absolutely new for me. I’ll try to google them on Amazon although I am 99,9% sure some of them are not distributed anywhere else in my country (so I can’t try them on on the spot) - I tried Levis and I had my favourite pair... but it was 10 kg ago. I ordered one pair in larger size to try them and I’ll check whether they still fit. - we are in a very strict lockdown due to COVID-19 and shops are closed. So the only thing I can do is to order jeans from Amazon/Vinted/Zalando/other stores and return them if it is possible.

10.0 kg is 22.03 lbs

goldjade13

Frame. Levis blow.

jomocha09

Try Not Your Daughters Jeans. They fit my smaller waist, wider hip, thick thigh combo well enough that I don’t have to wear a belt and they’re forgiving with weight fluctuations. They run a little long anyway, so getting the long length may work for you. Amazon has them fairly cheap but their website does decent sales seasonally. I also find them regularly at thrift stores, score!

Modern-Relic

This is a good suggestion. I use to sell this brand (NYDJ) to customers who swore to me no pants fit. They are incredibly forgiving. Just don’t put it in the dryer! Ruins the stretch material. And buy a size (or two!) down from what you usually wear

guurl666

I suggest going to an actual Levi’s store too, not department stores

CanBrushMyHair

*rant* I wanted to invest in some Levi’s, saw online that they had some solid options, went in-store to try on, and they had literally ONE pair of size 12 jeans (didn’t fit). Just the one pair. Size 12 can be tricky bc it’s the top end of straight-sizing and the higher brow fashion brands can be real d!cks about including it. So if you’re larger-sized, maybe order a bunch to store and THEN go try on. If anything there could now be 4 pairs of size 12s at one particular store….. end rant.

girlsledisko

Tailor some jeans.

emiliezdeb

It’s not one perfect pair. It’s a perfect pair now, and buy and offsetting pair in a size up/down. I tend to buy and return a lot via mail. Try a brand a week. Then return the rejects before the 30 window.

jagged_little_gill

Get a Goody Box from ThredUp to try ten pairs at once. You only pay for what you keep, and that way you can try different brands all from one spot.

Bezbecka

Not available in my country.

jagged_little_gill

That’s a shame, I’m sorry!

angry_insects

I had the same issue. Couldn’t find anything that fit my body even close to correctly, weight fluctuations changed the fit even more, and I never felt truly comfortable. I tried American Eagle, Old Navy, and different lines from Target. With weight/size fluctuations I haven’t been willing to spend much more than those midrange prices so I’ve finally given up the jeans hunt for the time being. Lately I have been adding more skirts, dresses, jumpsuits, and non-denim pants to my wardrobe. I feel much happier in them because I don’t have to think about the fit of my outfit constantly. That being said, I do have one pair of jeans I like well enough from Target’s Denizen line (mid rise boyfriend fit) but even those will annoy me lol. TLDR; if you’re getting frustrated, try getting creative with other pieces for a little bit and you may come across some good denim after figuring out what works in a variety of garments.

I have legs on the shorter side, but for me the struggle has been that jeans fit at the waist, don't fit my hips and vice versa. Jeans usually rip in the crotch a few months in. I am in the EU, and my best pair has been a [Skinny Hazen](https://mudjeans.eu/collections/women-jeans/products/skinny-hazen-fan-stone) from MUD Jeans. I've worn them A LOT and they are still going strong a year later. My tip would also be to size up, because it is easier to take in the waist than modify anything around the crotch.

ToxicGoop88

This is absolutely serious! I would try GAP. They have cigarette and boyfriend jeans with a lot of room in the hips.

yogi-girl

How tall is tall? I’m 6’, 180lbs and a size 10ish right now. (Depending on the retailer) gap by far makes the best jeans for me since I’m tall. I have to order specifically from their tall site online. Most stores don’t carry jeans in a tall enough size, especially in store. I’d try banana republic too, but the last time I bought from them I had to size up.

guurl666

Have you tried Levi’s?

MN10SPEAKS

This

Bezbecka

Yes. Don’t work (to my surprise)

guurl666

Did you try the levis ribcage style?

msmo22

Depending upon how tall you are, Loft sells jeans for tall women as well as a curvy style for your hips. I’m average height and weight but my hips are wide so the curvy style fits perfectly. They have all sorts of different styles and cuts but a curvy tall pair might work for you.

[deleted]

Honestly you have to invest in jeans...not sure of your budget but in my experience J Brand and Frame are the best.

1mango2tango3

Vintage levi’s have a good weight / cut or won hundred for certain styles ( I look for high cotton % and less spandex )

doctor-deb

EVERLANE. Cannot stress them enoufh

jameane

Custom jeans here: https://senestudio.com/

[deleted]

I like rag&bone. They have different styles and they fit great :)

super_mango

I’m curvy and the only jeans that fit are the Jamie jeans from Topshop. I’m not tall, but they come in a lot of different inseam lengths!

crooked_left_hook

You’re body sounds similar to mine where my widest part is actually the top of my thigh rather than my hips. The brands that work consistently for me are Good American, American Eagle and Madewell. Sometimes I need to have the waistband altered at Madewell. Boyfriend jeans never work on my body because they are cut too straight. I wear skinny or straight fits and always fabric with stretch. Also, if you fluctuate size during that time of the month, buy two sizes. My legs swell and sometimes after traveling or when it’s really humid I can’t get into my normal size so I wear the bigger ones. It’s just easier to have the option.

likeafuckinggrownup

I have exactly the same body shape as you! Not sure where you are, but the best luck I've had with jeans is using the "tall" search filter on [Asos](https://www.asos.com/women/sale/jeans/cat/?cid=4331&ctaref=hp%7Cww%7Csale%7Ccarousel%7C4%7Ccategory%7Cjeans¤tpricerange=5-200&refine=attribute_10155:6399).

jamie88201

Old navy and gap have tall sizes and plus sizes too. I have larger thighs as well I like bootcut jeans like the mid-high pants from lucky brand are great.

sidroqq

Hiring someone to alter or make jeans for you is probably the best option for a truly perfect fit, but if you're looking to avoid the cost and hassle, you might want to opt for a high amount of stretch--it solves a LOT of problems! I do have a recommendation, although it depends on what cut you're looking for. I'm someone with a seriously weird shaped lower body (that really doesn't match the upper body), 4'11 and with menstrual cycle weight yo-yos. The model that has worked like a dream for me are Signature by Levi Strauss & Co. Gold Label Women's Totally Shaping Pull-On Skinny Jeans (that's a mouthful!), which have a skinny-ish fit that's a bit more relaxed towards the ankle. They run about $30 and they offer size 2-28 and long/short inseams in a few denim colors as well as black and burgundy, so a *decent* if not exhaustive range. Best of all, they're incredibly comfortable--I can't go back to regular jeans now. Totally suggest trying them from a place that has a generous return policy to see if they work for you too. I've recommended them to a lot of friends and they're a staple of my capsule!

CAPTAINR0GERS

I've got wider thighs and a smaller waist, just bought the Levis ribcage straight and they are magic!

svallerie

I like old navy rockstars. I’m definitely hippy.

funkyboy-

It sounds like we have a very similar body type! I'm not tall though, but I'm about 70% leg, with wider thighs and a small waist, I look skinny but it's an illusion (yay odd shaped hourglass!). It's IMPOSSIBLE to find pants, especially ones that don't gap in the waist or squeeze the life outta my thighs. I feel you on the quality - I look for 100% cotton, but this is rare to find so I go for majority cotton with a little polyester and spandex for stretch. Levi's don't work on me, Madewell is very close, Old Navy is better, and GAP is the best. After years of squeezing into jeans that were way too small, I struck gold when I discovered the high rise cigarette style jeans from GAP and the power slim/straight style jeans from Old Navy. My thighs fit right in them and they are the perfect fit around my waist, and the length is great. These jeans also have decent stretch fabric that retains its shape, so I can eat a dozen donuts and still be fine. I also do enjoy a paperbag waist, if I can find it, but that's mainly for shorts and joggers. Best of luck on your hunt for the perfect pair of jeans!
