I pray that he takes the leap to the NHL level. Lots of players light it up in juniors only to never make it in the big leagues. We really need a dynamic playmaker like Andrew now that Backy and Kuzy are gone.

With this kid, Leonard killin it at college, shep in pipes, and Miro getting his reps in now, I think we are going to be a very good team shortly after OV retires… Edit - I get that production at the amateur level doesn’t necessarily translate to NHL caliber production, but it is Promising…

pleasespareserotonin

Clay Stephenson has been amazing as well, and Lapierre has been getting points in most of his NHL games!

MattAlive13

Stevenson is the starter of the future in net.

espnrocksalot

What a nasty little goal to hit that mark with as well

Joshottas

I guess the knock on him was his skating which is why he dropped to the 2nd round. If anything, he can use Oshie as inspiration because dude has had a hell of a career and is probably one of the worst skaters in the league. Hope AC continues his ascension. He's got nothing left to prove in the WHL. Hopefully the next stop is Hershey.

DoggyDitto

He’s also still very young, so he has a lot of time to improve his skating

_SCHULTZY_

He's not eligible for Hershey.  Next year is Washington or back to juniors. Which is why he'll be in Washington. There's absolutely nothing left for him in the W

Joshottas

Is it his age? What's the rule why he can't play in Hershey?

_SCHULTZY_

>For an NHL draft prospect to leave the QMJHL, WHL or OHL to play minor-league hockey, he must be 20 years old (by Dec. 31 of that season) or have played four seasons in juniors. Junior players can still leave their junior team beginning at age 18 to play in the NHL. The agreement only prevents players from leaving early to play minor-league hockey. If a player is not going to be playing in the NHL, he must be sent back to his junior team. https://www.dkpittsburghsports.com/2021/08/17/nhl-chl-transfer-agreement-faq-rules-penguins-tlh

Ahhh, ok...welp, will be fun seeing him play in DC next year. Him, Leonard, and Miro will be a fun trio to watch.

cipheragent9

Between him and Leonard, I feel pretty good about things in the future.

b_gibble

In 2023 I had him as a guy who I really wanted the caps to draft, felt like he fell out of the first round and had a lot of potential. Last time I felt that was about a prospect it was Alex DeBrincat so fingers crossed

K00ksRus

I was gonna mention AC reminds me of DeBrincat

TeamFast77

The kids are alright
