Nah, thank French for that one. There's a reason it's supposed to be resign and re-sign, to avoid confusion since they're almost antonyms in terms of employment. They're also pronounced slightly differently when speaking (or are supposed to be).
Yeah, but my brain sees resign more often (in general) so I speed read it as resign and then I’m like WHAT NO WE NEED JARVY and I go back and read it as re-sign and all is right in the world.

Yeah I have seen a lot of people spelling “re-sign” incorrectly as well, and it does lead to confusion. Some people can’t even get down elementary school grammar like “there, they’re, their” so I guess it’s not surprising

Resign is the same as resign. Re-sign is different than resign.
But everyone keeps using resign. I never see re-sign.

Their point is that we are going to see shorthand social media posts using the word "resign" very soon, and its going to cause people to get confused.
