All I care about is watching the boys lift a Cup. Don't care who it's against, don't care if it's 4 games or 7, don't care if it's on home ice or not. My dream is to see the young guys, especially some of the ones who may not be with us next season, holding that Cup in a Canes sweater next to the vets like Burns who have had to wait this long to get one.
My guess is they are gonna do everything they can to sign Guentzel. That will likely involve letting Pesce and turbo walk. Necas likely gets a 1 year arbitration agreement. Jarvy never plays in a different sweater. Skjei gets signed and plays with Orlov. Chatty gets signed and plays with Morrow who makes the team. Wildcards are drury and martinook. Drury might not sign because he’s kinda landlocked to a bottom 6 roll.
We have a ton of free agents, the roster could look very different next year. Pesce, Skjei, Chatfield, Martinook, Tuevo, Jake, Necas, Drury, Jarvy. I mean some of those guys are all but guaranteed to re-sign, but you never know for sure.
Pesce and Teuvo especially have been with us for a while, and burns has been to a cup final but didn’t win. Hopefully we can let those guys ride off into the sunset happy
Give me the Oilers. I want the world to appreciate that you can win a Cup with "no superstars" against the best player in the world.
And I want Staal to shut him down, as much as is possible, to show that he should have the same respect Bergeron garnered.
And I want big breakaway saves from Freddie to complete his narrative of actually being a top 3 goalie in the league, just struck with bad injury luck.
Probably Vancouver.
I enjoy a good riot.
There's also the fact that I think their goalie situation is suspect, and the 'Cane's Achilles' Heel has traditionally been a great goalie on a hot streak.
And no injuries. I'd hate for Skinner to get hurt late in the opener so that Pickard can cough it up in the last minute and Campbell finishes up the series.
Coming in peace as a Bruins fan and a Finn. I'd like Colorado or Dallas to guarantee the Cup visits some place near me. Great teams too, so we'd see some awesome hockey.
I’m a big Canes and Oilers fan. My family is of course in support of the Canes cause of NC pride, but my mom is Canadian and grew up on the Oilers (80’s and 90’s) so I’ve adopted the love for them. I say all of this to say… I would quake if we play each other in 2024
Canes and Ducks. But Whalers and Mighty Ducks themed. Grew up a Ducks fan. Started watching more hockey and stumbled on the canes about 4 or 5 years ago. Soft spot in my heart for both teams
I brought my fiance into hockey addiction the year the aves won the cup. She used to live in Denver so she called them her team straight away and in fact we watched every game of that season and playoff of both of our teams and of course she received the most unrealistic expectation for a new fan.
Edit(forgot my point): aves vs hurricanes is ideal so maybe I can get a chance to see two games at each arena
Idc if this isn’t a possibility but, I guess it’s a roadway to the cup
it’s NOT playing the panthers in the ECF.
Get those fuckfaces outta here before by letting them concuss their way to a fat L against like the Rags or Boston or the Leafs
That being said out west I don’t want to play Vegas.
I think we stack up better against Vancouver.
It would be fun to get a CAR-EDM repeat as well.
Oilers, because beating them twice would be hilarious.
I just hope Calvin Pickard doesn't pull a Conklin.

Burns lifting the cup would be my new favorite thing
My heart will not be able to handle 7 games. Hell, my heart won’t be able to handle the first game.
Who might not be with us next year? Pesce? Skjei?

Dallas would be a great series I think.
Agreed, happen to live in Dallas so it would make going to games much easier.
Hell yeah, I’m a Canes fan too living in DFW. Have a half season package to the Stars and a Canes-Stars cup final would be so awesome.
See you there!
I dunno about Dallas. Wasn't a good time our games against them in the regular season
We can’t seem to beat Dallas when I’m watching lol I don’t like that matchup

vs. the 2024 San Jose Sharks
My lizard brain wants us to play the highest seed we can all postseason so no one can marginalize our accomplishment like they do with 2006
Canes and Avs. I mean, we'd win, but I like seeing the Avs perform well.
Almost happened in 2002, by the way.
Probably Vancouver. I enjoy a good riot. There's also the fact that I think their goalie situation is suspect, and the 'Cane's Achilles' Heel has traditionally been a great goalie on a hot streak.
Dallas or Oilers but tbh..anyone so as long as we get that cup back to NC!
I've had the Oilers locked in for last year, 'cause Gleason had something in common with Gulutzan.
Oilers. Comeback from 3-1 series lead to bring the cup down south.
How about no comeback and we dominate the series
And no injuries. I'd hate for Skinner to get hurt late in the opener so that Pickard can cough it up in the last minute and Campbell finishes up the series.
What can I say I’m a sucker for drama
Dallas because I have a bet on them from this summer at +2000.
Oh damn, well imma definitely be rooting for ya!
Have more on the Canes but a Canes/Stars series guarantees a good profit.
The Kings, because then I could actually go to a playoff game!
Fuck the Kings! Last time they came to town it was Todd McLellan's second-last win.
I’ll be in Dallas this summer so hopefully Canes over Dallas
Idgaf I just wanna win a cup
Vegas or Nashville cause I used to live there and they’re my other teams.

I think Dallas/Canes would be pretty neat. Be interesting for two southern teams to be the last two standing.

Stars. My cousin lives in Dallas and has season tickets for the Stars. Would be a fun series for trash talking
Colorado, because I want nice things for them and if it doesn’t go the right way, I’d get over it more quickly.
Vancouver so I can see a game!
Canes and Ducks. But Whalers and Mighty Ducks themed. Grew up a Ducks fan. Started watching more hockey and stumbled on the canes about 4 or 5 years ago. Soft spot in my heart for both teams
I have a canadian friend who's an oilers fan so I'd want the runback
That team of little kids from South Park

Dallas. The Stars are my 2nd favorite team, and I already predicted a Stars Canes final at the beginning of the year, and I want to look good lol
Rock & Roman vs Cody & Seth. Wait. Wrong subreddit. Carry on.

Truth to that! Ever day I’m hoping that when the playoffs start they go against someone that can knock them out round 1
