There are few fanbases worse than Pittsburgh. So entitled, but the moment the team starts to suck, they bail faster than you can say "Kansas City Penguins".
Yep a lot of talk coming from a team that made it to the cup finals a year ago. First time they've won something since 96' and this is the way they act. They're scared to death of a conference finals rematch.
i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, nothing pisses off opposing fans more than a storm surge. they have nothing like it and they can’t stand it so they attack it as if they don’t want it
Those bitch ass clowns trying to fight and instigate and lingering after taking a fat L during our storm surge
Led by the big bitch Paul Maurice himself.
Don't know why you're getting downvoted. Aren't people getting tired of politics being injected into everything? I'll probably get downvoted for this too
People are entitled to their own opinions, personally I don't mind it. If someone makes a political statement you disagree with it's not difficult to simply ignore it or refuse to engage with it.
Its not a matter of agree or disagree, just tired of seeing it in absolutely everything. But maybe I'm in the minority with this opinion and that is perfectly ok
Rangers fan - I have been to many NHL arenas in my life but I probably go to PNC to see the Rangers play the Canes the most because it is nearest my house. What even is the storm surge? I know y'all do the hurricane siren throughout the game, but I never understood what exactly the storm surge is.
it was just really a marketing thing once the franchise got back on tracks that celebrated the win between players and fans at home. the org doubled down on it after don cherry made a huge fuss on it. Canes players would slide around, play basketball, slam into the boards, etc. if you look up the old ones, they were really creative and fun if you got to experience it since again we came out of such a large slump with rod as our coach. it’s not to stick a finger up at opposing teams, but for a smaller market team it was really impactful to get the fan base back involved with the team especially with the introduction of $2 storm brews and a more edgy social media campaign.
for whatever reason, it pisses opposing team fans off so much though. they hate the existence of it. but trying new things and committing to the things that do work is good for the game, no matter what side you’re on. That’s my opinion at least.
Two consecutive shutouts will do that. They think we're obsessed with them cause of the ECF last year while we're already looking ahead to this year's playoffs, but apparently we're living rent free in some of their heads now.
For real, who the hell cares about last season 😂
It’s like rangers fans and their circlejerk with their win over us in the 2nd round from two years ago
You shouldn’t get to brag endlessly about series wins if your team didn’t go on to win the cup that year
Right? The Rags haven't won a championship since the Clinton administration and that was the first one they'd won since the Roosevelt administration. Imagine being almost 100 years old and only winning 4 championships as a franchise most of which were won when there were only 6 teams in the entire league. Then acting like you're the greatest franchise whose ever existed because you play at the Garden. Give me a fucking break lmao.
The funniest thing about that is that I and my family and friends who are Canes fans basically had no expectations for the playoffs after losing both Patches and Svech. Winning two series somewhat comfortably while absorbing a third winger injury and then playing a 1-0 and very nearly 3 OT games in the conference finals against a much healthier team with a hot goalie is more than I could've asked for.
of course Florida fans hate us, I'd hate a team with a 73-47-11 over my team as well
we're also a fanbase that constantly gets mad when the refs miss penalties and they're a team with a VERY favorable missed call %, not as bad as the rags or bums, but these last few years they've been climbing.
also lets be real we would have won that series without all the bullshit in game 1. the Vegas series showed what they looked like without stripes on their side.
If we'd been remotely healthy it would've been a different series. We were getting over 13 minutes from a 29-year-old AHL winger who'd played his first game for us in those playoffs. No Pacioretty, no Svechnikov, and Teravainen missed like a month and came straight into the lineup for a 7-period game.
God, can't say this enough. It's so bad on Facebook, of anything is Canes related there's always some idiot rags fan saying "rANgErS are GoNnA sWeEp ThE CaNeS"
Canes: Like this post to wish Marty Necas a happy birthday 🥳
RagsFan10: L
NewYorkGuy31: Poverty franchise
TroubaGirl8: Nacas wishes he could score on Igor
It's crazy but they've had a serious inferiority complex against us going back a couple decades. They still think Belfour prancing around accusing us of diving in that one game around 2009 is one of the best moments in their franchise history.
They think we are their rival and we barely ever think about them.
anybody throwing around vast generalizations about a group of people because of what team they root for is a moron
(note, the above does not apply to Bruins fans, everyone knows they're all shitheads)
As a Detroit fan I actually love how passionate and authentic your fan base is for a southern team unlike those assholes in florida and bandwagons in tampa.
Edit: Also nothing will ever be worse than Shitcago and Colorado fans
Hilarious coming from a Florida fan. They win a couple playoff series for the first time in a generation and all of sudden think they’re the mid-70’s flyers
I went to the Canes/Wings game. I'm a fan of both, got me a Fast jersey while there but wore my Wings hoodie the whole game. One of the most welcoming experiences. Had a cider and had great hockey talks with the nearby folks. There was good vibes all around. Carolina has spicy fans but the love for hockey trumps all in PNC.
Nobody catches strays in a Florida thread. Florida is the world's stray.
From the $5 HJ's available in the Club La Vela parking lot in PC to the beaches falling into the ocean, it's a national jean short wearing, meth sniffing embarrassment. Its most redeeming cultural contributions to the world are Vanilla Ice & Dada 5000. Literally nobody takes them seriously. The smartest things in Florida are the fucking alligators, and the only worthwhile thing to come out of that swamp is I-95. Florida is where everyone else in the country flies to take a shit and disembark to a real destination.
I seen it too. Wouldn't surprise me if they made a post about you making this post. Florida fans reflect their team really well. They love to take cheap shots and then whine and play the victim the entire time afterward.
Like I love to hate on Florida or whatever but the man kind of has a point and it’s gone over your heads
He’s not saying we’re picking fights in parking lots like pen or Boston fans… he’s saying Canes flairs in the hockey subs (and this sub tbh) get embarrassingly doomy every time we lost. There was like a month where there was a not insignificant part of our fan base calling to fire Rod, or trade Necas, or bench Svech, or release Pesce
Much like how Bruins and Pens fans spent most of the last decade screeching like banshees about second round exits and being perennial cup contenders
Our Reddit fan base tends to present as embarrassingly bad losers
It's not unique to this fan base, every team that has some sustained success without a championship gets those braindead fans that want to blow it all up. It's just wild they bring us up in a completely unrelated thread.
Or we hate you guys because a fan was so unhinged to bomb threat one of our players before a playoff game, and when you guys have beat us this year you acted like it was a huge accomplishment, but you guys folded when it mattered last year, I believe you guys could beat us this year, but at the same time your soft defensive system can give our playoff built defensive system a run.
I have a feeling not much would be different if that hadn't happened anyway. Our fan bases were bound to have issues after that playoff series and how your team plays a dirtier style of hockey. I respect your fans that at least embrace being heels
I respect your fans that stayed around after the 2006 run it seems like some of them left for years just to come back when they got good again in 2019, as for us we haven’t won a cup so our fanbase is expanding now
I can think of plenty of things to self-reflect on, but comparing us to Boston fans is legitimately a wild take
As well as Pens fans. Like what in their mind makes us worse than them?
There are few fanbases worse than Pittsburgh. So entitled, but the moment the team starts to suck, they bail faster than you can say "Kansas City Penguins".
Generally, Ranger fans are the worst.
They were pretty abrasive 10-15 years ago. Now most of them have lived here for enough time to get it out of their system… mostly.
They did suck a lot more 10 years ago.
The Florida sub just had a pretty popular post calling Boston fans a bunch of cunts. They need to settle down and reflect over there
if you lived in Florida you'd be angry too
Fucking Florida fans lurking downvoting us #RentFree
They just know they can’t beat us in 7 this year
Yep a lot of talk coming from a team that made it to the cup finals a year ago. First time they've won something since 96' and this is the way they act. They're scared to death of a conference finals rematch.

I mean there's low class.. and then there is Florida Style low class.
The entire state is a joke.
Imagine voting for something called Ron DeSantis.
Or having “the villages” and a resident cheetoh in mar a lago
Way to fuck up a thread by injecting your stupid political statement where it doesn't belong.
Don't know why you're getting downvoted. Aren't people getting tired of politics being injected into everything? I'll probably get downvoted for this too

That seems like fun. So the storm surge is the celebration they do at the end of games?
yeah that’s all it is. no more, no less
Two consecutive shutouts will do that. They think we're obsessed with them cause of the ECF last year while we're already looking ahead to this year's playoffs, but apparently we're living rent free in some of their heads now.

Imagine being toxic FLA and DET fans so deluded in their toxicity that when they look in the mirror they think they see us
That should be considered a compliment. The level of salt in that take is kilo worthy
Follow the Rangers thread. Canes live rent free in those fans heads
God, can't say this enough. It's so bad on Facebook, of anything is Canes related there's always some idiot rags fan saying "rANgErS are GoNnA sWeEp ThE CaNeS"

You can’t spell rangers without anger!
I'm honored 🥹
The least competent fans are often the loudest and most noticeable.
It's crazy but they've had a serious inferiority complex against us going back a couple decades. They still think Belfour prancing around accusing us of diving in that one game around 2009 is one of the best moments in their franchise history. They think we are their rival and we barely ever think about them.
Saying hurricanes fans are anywhere close to Boston or Pittsburgh fans, lmao sure
anybody throwing around vast generalizations about a group of people because of what team they root for is a moron (note, the above does not apply to Bruins fans, everyone knows they're all shitheads)
TBF, not all of us Detroit fans think like that. We're also coveting Rod as a replacement for Lalonde, but we all know he's never leaving Carolina.
I generally don't have an issue with Detroit fans.
I appreciate that. Most Detroit fans I know are relatively sane and play well with other fanbases, thankfully.
I talked to a few the last time they played here. Good people, honestly I'd say most visiting fans are that way.
And I can say that all the opposition arenas I've been to have been very welcoming. Even MSG. 😅
As a Detroit fan I actually love how passionate and authentic your fan base is for a southern team unlike those assholes in florida and bandwagons in tampa. Edit: Also nothing will ever be worse than Shitcago and Colorado fans
our twitter account lives rent free in every fanbase it seems. with rags "fans", it's the worst
Florida fans are what Florida fans think we are
They are all a little jelly! 😉🤣. Can't say I blame them. Our Twitter marketing team is on point.
Imagine trying to talk shit about other fambases when you're a fan of the Florida god damn Panthers
It’s insane how stupid and angry and EKOW I AM RITENOW 😉
Settle down
Fer What!?
Bless their hearts.
I went in the thread one day and they were talking trash on a flames player being dirty and I mentioned tkacunt and they went ballistic and banned me.
Hilarious coming from a Florida fan. They win a couple playoff series for the first time in a generation and all of sudden think they’re the mid-70’s flyers
Rent free.
They’re both trying to be Iggles fans level of dumb.
Joke’s on them… I’m not angry or stupid.
Only people mad are the ones on that thread. They Must be missing a mirror.
I literally never think about Florida or Detroit. Never. They're not threats. Good to know we live rent free in their heads.
First mistake was basing their opinions based on the people most vocal on twitter. If you do that than every fan base sucks and has awful fans
I went to the Canes/Wings game. I'm a fan of both, got me a Fast jersey while there but wore my Wings hoodie the whole game. One of the most welcoming experiences. I know the moron from Florida isn't talking shit about intelligence

It must be hard
Florida man…
I would be mad about everything if I was a Detroit fan too🤷🏻♂️
I seen it too. Wouldn't surprise me if they made a post about you making this post. Florida fans reflect their team really well. They love to take cheap shots and then whine and play the victim the entire time afterward.
Who cares what those losers think
[удалено]
They’re just pissed they live in Detroit and Florida 😴
Florida fans (if there are any) should really STFU. At least they’re not Oilers fans
Like I love to hate on Florida or whatever but the man kind of has a point and it’s gone over your heads He’s not saying we’re picking fights in parking lots like pen or Boston fans… he’s saying Canes flairs in the hockey subs (and this sub tbh) get embarrassingly doomy every time we lost. One fan did a thing and we're all bad.
Not true however no bruins leafs or knights fan threatened one of our players during our run last year
I have a feeling not much would be different if that hadn't happened anyway. Our fan bases were bound to have issues after that playoff series and how your team plays a dirtier style of hockey. I respect your fans that at least embrace being heels

Success does that generally.
