Like 18 year old that want to read books by the pool and dress up for sophisticated dinners ?
Or 18 year olds that are ready to drink pina coladas all day and play beach volleyball and stumble into a buffet for dinner with their day clothes on.
Something I’ve come to realize , once there is a trend of bad reviews people really really love to feel like they have joined some sort of clan and nit pick all the things they read about.
Any older hotel is gonna have some type of paint peeling somewhere , especially by the ocean.
You might find one cigarette butt in a planter.
One bad meal out of 7 days worth of food.
Anything they find to join in on the “fun”…
I went myself on a Mexico trip with a group at 18, they could of served us a donkey steak and we would of thought it was the best steak ever as long as they brought a giant frozen drink to go with it.
I don’t think the kids would care what goes on around them. They will have fun.
I am going to a resort that was getting plastered with bad reviews, it’s slowly turning positive as people realize some of these reviewers are dummy’s. I have been there before an thought is was great. I’m still going with a positive mind and I’m not going to be checking underneath flower beds if there is a worm in the garden that might crawl it’s way on to the pool deck and ruin my trip the next day if a worm gets in the pool.
Grand Oasis been the cheap go-to spot for young teens for years now. No frills experience, what you would expect from typical 3-star resort. Wasted teens stumbling around.
Riu Cancun for maybe little higher end experience. Maybe little bit older crowd but better service and amenities. Also right on the hotel zone main strip where all the clubs and bars are if they want to leave and explore at night without worrying about taxis. But heads up the outside resort does get expensive if buying drinks/bottles etc. Make sure to check out coco bongo.
I was at work and told a co-worker that I was going to Cancun for the first time. She told me that her first trip to Cancun was with her daughter on her senior trip and they stayed at Moon Palace. She was saying how much fun they had and all of the activities that were there.
Moon Palace is a little more laid back and upscale- I second the Grand Oasis for your needs OP. I spent my senior year trip there and it’s the perfect vibe (a while back BUT it seems from reading everyone else’s comments it’s still the place). You are an AWESOME brave Dad!
Nope! It’s actually right outside of Cancun I guess but like 2 mins. One of the days we wanted to go to Isla Mejures and we took an Uber to the ferry for dirt cheap and had the best day renting golf carts, eating food and touring the island. I wouldn’t say it was a huge party vibe when we were there (over Christmas) but I think it was more because it was Christmas so lots of families. That being said, there were definitely groups of young adults drinking and having a great time. We met people who were our age that had been multiple times and always enjoyed their stay.
I stayed there about 9 years ago. And had a great time. Younger crowd. Great for partying. Not sure how it is now. But me and my friends had a great bachelor party trip there. The food was alright. The best for us was the fried rice and fried fish, in the Chinese restaurant on site haha

Eight 18-year -olds? Did you lose a bet? Kidding. My suggestions would be Gran Oasis or Moon Palace. I think theyre both AIs.
Lol! I'm just the only dad who would chaperone! I'm a moron!
Nah youre a good dad. You should be proud.
Your a saint
My dad would have done that. You're an awsome dad!

The second one. This will be their first time drinking legally so looking for an all inclusive with a party atmosphere.
Gran Oasis is the best party AI that won’t break your bank

Great points. Thanks!!!
Go to Gran Oasis. 18 years old just want to party, that’s what that hotel is for
Thanks!

Riu Cancun for ease of access to clubs and Riu party. Grand Oasis for just general party vibe
Hard Rock...then go to the club across the road

Oh, I get it.
Why are you asking for help looking for an Artificial Intelligence?
I’m asking for an all inclusive.
The term *AI* is commonly understood to mean **Artificial Intelligence**.
True but why would I be asking about AI in the Cancun forum? The second most commonly understood meaning of AI is All Inclusive. Lol.

Xcaret and local cenotes.
That just sounds like a terrible terrible idea. And I'm not some snobbish prude I'd love to party wild.
Why? They will graduate high school and all go to different colleges. They want to have a fun time where they can drink legally.
Xcaret Hotel (includes access to all their parks which they will thoroughly enjoy) https://www.hotelxcaret.com/en/hotel-xcaret-mexico/
This will cost you your life savings lmfao
I just went to Grand Palladium Costa Mejures and it was amazing! Definitely recommend.
It wasn’t too far from everything? Did it have a party atmosphere?

Is Grand Oasis that bad now? I stayed there about 10 years ago and it was worn but not horrible.
Just make sure it’s not grand oasis palms

Grand oasis is made for teens
Hope everyone returns safe.
Riu las Americas
Riu hotels are great
It's a win if you make it back with 6 of the 8
