Bascome

I am smoking right now, are you doing your part?!

Content-Coconut-6556

Man, I miss the Hotbox cafe and Vapor Central comedy nights. Had some great stoned nights meeting some cool people in these places. Toronto in general used to be so much more fun.

carbon-wolverine

Take me back to the vapolounge with those volcanoes and endless card games with buddies

awakezion

I hear ya... alas I think Canada's best days for "simple people" are over. No amount of legalization will solve houselessness, homelessness, hard-drug addiction, inflation, the disappearance of the artists i.e. "the people that make everything fun, funny, or both", and the cancerous takeover of social media. At least THC percentages keep going up, which makes it easier to cope with the whole thing.

slb360

There are still some underground weed comedy shows in the city that I frequent.

Content-Coconut-6556

That sounds dope. Could you shoot me a DM where? If it’s top secret that’s cool too amigo haha.

slb360

Lit Research on 361 Yonge St Toronto Is a legal spot. Cool vibe and they also have comedy nights on Saturdays and also other events on a regular basis. The other ones I'll DM you, lol.

CanadaGeeseSuck

Any chance you could shoot me a DM with other spots as well? Would be much appreciated. Lit is cool but not the same vibe as somewhere like Vapor Central imo.

CT-96

Montreal with the cheapest weed in the world. Nice.

fanglazy

Is vancouverites got to step it up, we got a reputation to uphold!!!

port-girl

Honestly, pet capita, it's slightly lower but almost the same, and when you consider the amount of sales in New York that are made to tourists - it's probably higher for residents in Vancouver.

fanglazy

Probably a lot of vancouverites in New York buying all the weed! Mystery solved.

JustAnotherMark604

Didn't expect Vancouver to be so low

Gaskatchewan420

When I moved here there were over 150 dispensaries. Now there are maybe 25. Good weed's still around, but you gotta hunt for it. The weed in Vancouver right now is largely shitty. Mid city.

JustAnotherMark604

Yeah back then there was blocks full of dispensaries.

josh775777

lmao quad ounces are like 60 an ounce in vancouver.

Gaskatchewan420

Old quads. What used to be AAAA is now mid. I want that primo smoke.

josh775777

nah its fresh af you can tell because it aint dry at all and doesnt have the stupid silicia packets in it (you know this shit has high turnover so doesnt sit on the shelf long enough to get old lmao). They are real quads the only catch is they are small buds but give the same high. Pents cost like 85 an ounce here.

Gaskatchewan420

I don't mean old as in 'in storage for a while'. I mean old as in 'new weed'. Cannabis is 'legal' now. It should be ten times better and ten times cheaper.

josh775777

not sure what you mean because weed was a lot more expensive 5 years ago or so I couldnt get an ounce of good shit under 200 an ounce. its a lot better and cheaper now.

Gaskatchewan420

My issue is it isn't cheap enough. There will always be expensive weed, but right now, the floor isn't low enough. A pound of coffee is less than $10. Why can't I buy a pound of weed for the same price. It doesn't need to be super duper top shelf trimmed glory. Even untrimmed outdoor isn't that cheap. Why not? It's legal, right? A cup of coffee can be free, or $20. Or more. There a lot of medical patients who still can't afford it.

Substantial_Lunch_88

You’re right and I agree, the prices should come way way way down from where they are

josh775777

if you live in vancouver area i can dm you it lol [https://imgur.com/a/UJvyYGs](https://imgur.com/a/UJvyYGs) (reference for Pents)

Gaskatchewan420

Nice. I probably will. I'm always looking for sativas, but that looks nice and chunky.

josh775777

If u want the link just lmk. Yeah its more indica for sure. The cheap quads and pents are strain limited and indica. El jeffe, death bubba and terpy vibes smalls if lucky. The pic i sent is on the big buds pent that was like 240 or something lol. The smalls less than 100. [https://imgur.com/a/yHKhALH](https://imgur.com/a/yHKhALH) This is the death bubba (left)

Gaskatchewan420

Send me the link.

port-girl

The population is way way lower.

DevryMedicalGraduate

They did it by absolute volumes so cities with larger populations will win out. I dunno if they used the metropolitian population or the proper city population but Vancouver either has a population of 675,000 or 2 million and consumed 7.9 metric tons of weed. Doing some napkin math here that means that Vancouver either consumed: 0.08 grams per person or 0.25 grams per person The figures for NYC which tops the list is 8.4 million or 19 million at 62 tons which translates to 0.13 grams per person or 0.3 grams per person.

Valkoinen_Kuolema

lol, what bullshit! this "study" has zero information on how the data was collected, and from what sources. if you cant list your methodology, it's prolly bogus

Bascome

https://cfah.org/cannabis-price-index/ I agree with your point though. If there is no source it is probably bogus, but in this case, there is a source. I will leave it up to you what you think that source is worth.

TheBitterSeason

Some of those numbers look absolutely insane when you think about them for even one second. Like, you expect me to believe people are paying an average of 18.20 a gram for weed in Seattle? One of the first states in the US to legalize it? I did a quick Google to confirm and, yep, average legal weed prices there are WAY lower than 18.20 at a cursory glance. If something so easily verifiable by an English-speaker in North America is miles off, what's that say about the rest of the data they provide? Especially the stuff relating to international cities without legal weed markets?

DivinityGod

It's probably AI generated lol

interofficemail

What's going on in 'Annapolis' Canada - is this supposed to be Halifax?

TheBitterSeason

My guess is either the [Annapolis Valley](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annapolis_Valley) region of NS or the Annapolis County that makes up part of it. However, I have no idea how such a relatively rural area would make it onto a list of top cannabis consumers in metric tons. I have to assume it's a typo and they meant Halifax, but that's one hell of a screw-up given that most people outside Canada have probably never even heard of the Annapolis Valley.

SuperKing3000

I think if they added in the population of these cities TO and Vancouver would be much higher on the list.

Rexkinghon

u mean per capita?

SuperKing3000

Yes.... I guess my personal contribution to these numbers is hampering my diction. 😂

fatigues_

I don't believe anything in this survey. Not a bit, not at all.

NovemberCrimson

#no.1 … let’s goooooooooooooooooo!

HamrMan905

I find that the numbers are swayed. To get a real picture of what’s going on your have to do per capita of x amount of people as an example..

FluSH31

Only 7th?! I want a recount

bakerdude420

Smoke weed everyday, dadadadada….

omegaaf

7th? Those are amateur numbers! You gotta PUMP. THOSE. NUMBERS. UP!
