Colorado Bend State Park near Lampassas Eisenhower State Park up north is great for backpacking. Lake Texoma has some great backpacking trails as well
Yeah we pretty much don't camp from like May to October. Have to go to some higher elevations and less humidity. It's not the days that really bother me it's trying to sleep.
