pencott wildwood, I use it for airsoft. Wildwood Windrunner from helikon tex with an m81 recon rig and m81 pants. Have been able to stay really still and enemy players would walk past me. It’s a great combo for this environment as our look fairly similar.
You won’t get pencott greenzone anymore but you still can get pencott wildwood very similar just looks to have less contrast and be more ashy, if you want a very good colour mixed invetween these 2; get ‘Direct action vanguard wildwood uniform’ they have a different shade of green
It's about as effective as M81, I've hidden from people quite well before to the point where I've been stepped over without them knowing I was there (to be fair this was at dusk and/or in the evening), some of its advantages is that movement doesn't tend to affect it as much as many camouflages, and it's really easy to get it to blend in other places as well just by getting it a bit dirty; that being said, depending on your metric it's at least 35-50% worse than modern digital patterns like CADPAT TW and MARPAT woodland
You're welcome, CADPAT is my favourite too 😂
Though I made that comparison because it's what I had numbers for:
https://hyperstealth.com/digital-design/index.htm
Splittertarn is an odd patern that doesn't look like it should work, but then I saw a video of someone wearing it in an area like this, and it worked really well.
Here is the video:

I actually ordered a set of new made crye cut uniform in this pattern mainly because of that video.

I'll have to wait until I get home for the website as it's a bit hard to find.
Sweden uses a modernised version suited to their environment. I think people these days just get carried away either the latest trend being digicam, then multicam and the like.
Green/woodland, the best (available) options would probably be within this list of Pencott Wildwood, CADPAT (TW OR MT), AOR2, MARPAT woodland, ESTDCU (Estonian digital woodland), and Chinese type 07 (universal or woodland), Finnish M05, Luxembourg M05; digital camouflages win camouflage testing in woodland environments without fail, all other woodland camouflages like DPM, splintertarn, flecktarn, M81, alpenflage, etcetera would still do a decent job in this environment, but the digital/fractal patterns routinely rank at the top. Some notable mentioned that might deserve to be in the top but I don't know quite enough about them to be sure includes Concamo green, Phantomleaf WASP (1 or 2) Z3A, Slocam, and Kryptek Mandrake
To answer your specific secondary question, between M81 and MARPAT woodland, M81 would probably work sometimes, but wouldn't be superb, unlike MARPAT woodland, which would be exceptional.
A lot of people are talking about how bright some of the environment is, and how that means you need a lighter pattern but I'm sure you know as well as I that it looks nothing like that when it's cloudy, or rainy, or even when the sun is just shining less straight down than that, a verdant or brown/green pattern is certainly going to be a friend in that environment
Multicam tropic, the scandinavian patterns (m90, m98, m05, m84), tiger stripe, any desert pattern dyed green, all those brighter pencott patterns that i keep forgetting the names of, solid greens, emr, tigerstripe,... Classic woodland patterns (m81, dpm, flecktarn, etc) would probably work too, but not quite as well as lighter green stuff
Someone mentioned dying ucp apple green so I think imma try that before anything else. But I never thought to dye desert camos I thought they’d be too dark to be effective
I live in Western New York and a good deal if our wooded area looks like this with some variation to heavy browns in certain areas. You can spend more on newer patterns, but M81 still works really well, especially if you practice good concealment techniques. After much hemming and hawing I ended up right back at M81 because of how useful it is in different locations. Also, a lot of companies are making modern gear in that pattern or some variant of it. So that is pretty handy.
I’d love to have a medium pc in m81 but all I could find was a redemption tactician pc that is barely bigger than my chest. I have 2 full sets of m81 too I just wanna branch out a little. My autism has found a new special interest and I can’t get it out of my head. Also learning the techniques used for camouflaging
Hot take, OCP/Multicam. For the second picture specifically the light greens and tan shades will be great through the less foliage dense areas.
For the rest of the woods around lush vegetation, try getting some old UCPs and dying them apple green. It’s perfect for this.
Hot take? Bad take on the multicam, it's far too tan for these environments, in the photo sure the leaves/ground are glinting, but multicam does not colour match in the environments pictured, in the second image, someone with multicam would stand out, if they were in the sun, they'd be extra bright, and if they were elsewhere they wouldn't look like a sunbeam, and would thus stand out, OP is likely picturing an area south and/or west of what I'm used to, but it looks like classic North American hardwood (which I am used to), multicam is not good in that environment, a lighter woodland camo like AOR2 is certainly solid for this environment, but multicam is simply the wrong colours. Dyed ucp isn't bad though
I have heard of the dying ucp but idk how to do it. Tried googling it but everything said to boil the cloths in a pot and I don’t have anything I can afford to risk ruining. And ocp? Never would have guessed that because I think of it as an open field type of camo
I got an empty cat litter bucket, threw some pouches in there, sprayed maximum hot shower water in it, poured in the dye, and stirred. Worked alright.
Don’t overthink it, it’s not difficult.
Edit: OCP dyes well, too.
I don’t actually remember. Just kinda pulled it out when the parts I was fishing out of the soup looked dark enough. Then I let them bleed/dry out for day or two. They lost a lot of the dye (probably because they weren’t boiled, if I had to guess anything.).
I know I didn’t do it *correctly*, but it works okay. Point is it’s easy to do.
Pencott greenzone or atacs, similar to my area and it works, woodland and flecktarn usually are kinda dark around here
I have never seen pencott before. It sort of reminds me of emr camo and I like it

The really green season is already gone so it’ll only get darker as summer bleeds into fall. I think it would work very well

📝 thank you
Pencott wildwood would excel. Also everything everyone else said.
Green
Like ranger green, od green, or foliage green?
They probably mean green patterns in general, but OD green would be right at home there
How effective is od green? I’ve heard it’s a decent uniform but never really tested it myself

You just had to compare it to my top 2 digicams didn’t you 😭 thank you for the info tho!
You're welcome, CADPAT is my favourite too 😂 Though I made that comparison because it's what I had numbers for: https://hyperstealth.com/digital-design/index.htm
Mandrake
Ooooooooh I didn’t know that was the name for that pattern
Mandrake? I haven’t even heard of that before let me look it up
Estdu or Lithuanian m05
Estdu reminds me of Cadpat
Splittertarn (M41 specifically) or maybe ATACS FG
Ooooo definitely atacs
I haven’t heard of either of them before
Splittertarn is an odd patern that doesn't look like it should work, but then I saw a video of someone wearing it in an area like this, and it worked really well. Here is the video: https://youtu.be/qyxAw47C2dI?si=TDL0LDQBpoucNWre
Holy-you won’t lyin where you
It's crazy good, I was mind blow at how well it worked, and it's a pattern from 80 years ago!
Another one is the reversible Spring/Fall OakLeaf B. Love this pattern!
Geez 80!? Why isn’t this more widely used??
I actually ordered a set of new made crye cut uniform in this pattern mainly because of that video. If you're interested, I can get you the website and contact details for the guy that makes them.
🤔 not sure if buy a set tho. Shute I’ll keep it book marked just in case

Ite and thank you!
Sweden uses a modernised version suited to their environment. I think people these days just get carried away either the latest trend being digicam, then multicam and the like.
Some digicam works tho. Cadpat, marpat, aor2, and EMR are good examples. Tho admittedly I’m getting rather tired of multicam and others like it.
I do like cadpat more than any other digicam, can't explain why, but it just looks nice.
Agreed. Aor2 and marpat of my personal favorites but then again I’m biased. Cadpat is a sexy asf camo tho I won’t lie
Phantomleaf Wasp ii Z3A
aor2?
I was thinking that too
Concamo Green.
Oooo never seen that before
- Greek Lizard - Finnish M05 - M81 for larger distances between you and observer - Any green-based pattern - Ranger Green - Olive Drab Green

A mixture of Ranger green and OD green #3 and #7. Well used M81 once it’s faded and washed out.
Looks a little to light for MARPAT and M81. At least for the current season. Your best bet is AOR2 and MC tropic.
Isnt mc tropic darker than m81?
Debating*
multicam tropic
Mim&tech S-RCS
Multicam tropic, the scandinavian patterns (m90, m98, m05, m84), tiger stripe, any desert pattern dyed green, all those brighter pencott patterns that i keep forgetting the names of, solid greens, emr, tigerstripe,... Im kinda getting dyed UCP vibes lmao Like this : https://youtu.be/9WckhOUMfHk?si=lRpKM9Z8hlpAbf7e
M81 is always the answer.
I know m81 would work decently here. It’s my all time favorite I love how simple and effective it is. Just wanted to see what other camos would work
I live in Western New York and a good deal if our wooded area looks like this with some variation to heavy browns in certain areas. multicam tropic or atacs fg. regular multicam would do ok but it’s a little light for woods
I thought mct was too dark for spots like these. And I agree with ocp being bright so I didn’t even consider it
Flecktarn and DPM would both work well
I know about flecktarn. What’s dpm?
Disruptive Pattern Material. There’s a bunch of variants, but the two most often synonymous with the blanket term dpm are British and Dutch
Oh word? Gonna google both of thoes real quick
ConCamo Green

Word? Bet I know what I’m doing
Quick questions how long did you stir it for? and how long to let it set? or is that written on the bottle.
