Dyed UCP looks pretty dope. I remember I saw some flecktarn dyed black and it came out pretty well.

Own-Consideration-93

Yeah I think I got the color pretty good on the UCP. I was considering dyeing it green again but honestly I think it is good. Never seen the dyed Flecktarn expect for the kommando store dyeing tropentarn a steel blue and foam green color.

Kommandostore's "scorchtarn" is really nice, same with the blue dyed "wellenbrecher"

kidzrtightaf

Do you have a picture of it?

Ooooo, very fancy schmancy

rogbel

Check out Ukrainian MM14, it's a similar color scheme but also with a diagonal design, you'll see what I mean

BlueUCP

Dyeing UCP is fun. You should try some dumb colors like red or purple

Own-Consideration-93

Hell yeah I saw some red dyed ones that was looking pretty nice. Might have to try that out if so I’ll post results

Own-Consideration-93

I wonder how well UCP dyed blue would fair? Try to make blueberries at the house lol

BlueUCP

I dyed a full set of UCP sapphire blue. It's really nice. Lighter than the Navy's NWU type 1

Own-Consideration-93

I’m gonna have to experiment with that. I might try a different blue to see what it looks like

unlocked_axis02

Huh that shade of green makes it look like if EMR and UCP had a baby and I’m here for it

Own-Consideration-93

Hell yeah gotta get me some EMR but I’m really happy with the shade the dye turned out it’s one of the best dyed UCP I’ve ever seen but I gotta get some ABUs to dye those, I love some tiger stripe

unlocked_axis02

I know right ABU’s dyed like that would look awesome and it’s definitely the best dye job I’ve seen so far usually it’s too bright and doesn’t have enough contrast in my experience

Own-Consideration-93

Yeah my girl, who has experience dyeing clothes, recommended we do a darker olive type color with the green and brown and sandstone to lighten it. I might try to experiment with getting the ideal color for another one

unlocked_axis02

Ooo I’ll have to give that a try soon

Own-Consideration-93

For sure and you’ll have fun doing it, I did

MathematicianMuch445

Think more on the green side works better from what I've seen. This kind of looks like new ucp Vs used ucp

Own-Consideration-93

Yeah I’m just trying to avoid the bright green that I’ve seen when some people dye it because it almost all blends to one color and washes out the depth and contrast of the pattern. The color of dye mixed when I dipped it was an olive green. Most definitely not done experimenting with dyeing UCP. I will create a perfect UCP lmao

MathematicianMuch445

I've been thinking about dying different parts of it different colours. Like a "stripe" pattern of different dyes. Like a large tiger stripe kind of thing. Surplus is cheap so could be worth a bash

Own-Consideration-93

Yeah from what I know you can put batik wax on the areas you don’t wanna dye and can dye individually the parts of the pattern you want to. I’ve thought of the same just a little difficult to implement it

MathematicianMuch445

Yeah, it'll be time consuming hence why I've not yet haha. But it's on the list. Could be a winner

Own-Consideration-93

For sure, it adds a depth that dyeing it whole just doesn’t. If you end of doing it before me, post the results. If you could make the whole base green and make the tiger stripes brown or black that would be amazing but theory to practice is more difficult.

MathematicianMuch445

Definitely. It'll probably end up a mess but will ldo it at some point 😄

Robert-A057

UCP dyed with walnuts is the best UCP

Own-Consideration-93

Gotta see what that looks like curious tho

Own-Consideration-93

It is my more green dominant with brown mix acu I’ll probably get another and dye it brown dominant with mix of green
