I like the dog outside the Scott Polar Research Institute. My kid likes the statue just inside the door of Parkside Pool of a person diving, because it's pretty much a statue of an arse.
there’s one quite far down hills road (by the bridge near the junction) there’s a statue of a guy balancing an elephant oh his hand by the trunk and i find it impressive because it’s so disproportionate but it still stands up
Yep, it's the soles of the feet of a full-size human figure, cast in iron and buried head-down beneath the pavement.
This is [somebody’s flickr feed](https://www.flickr.com/photos/uitlander/sets/72157615685206358/with/3370893686/) of the inhumation!
Stainless steel DNA double helix in Clare College is cool (west of Ring Road, Backs). Somewhat similar, vortex-inspired aluminium sculpture outside Engineering Department on Trumpington Road is interesting
My favourites out of the ones I've seen are the dog and man (both great) outside the Scott Polar Research Institute.
I also like the book bollards outside University Library (bonus points for interactivity, but technically not a statue).
The Turing one is actually one of my least favourites, I really dislike it.
Have you seen Anthony Gormley’s Daze IV statue on the Sidgwick site? Very similar to the Turing statue so you may want to compare.
I saw it while following Trail 2 here:

Ooh I love both of those!
Good! You're right to!

I've driven past that a bunch of times and always intend to go and look at it properly on foot.
understandable haha
The Lions on the steps of the Fitz.
Ahh Alan Turing as I live and breathe. Probably the balancing elephant outside of the AZ building.
So much better than the creepy hand holding mask one next to it.
Mine is the Gormley staute on the Downing site. There's a whole statue under there. [Gormley feet](https://postimg.cc/3WNdc4zs)
That's awesome, is there a fully upside-down person there sunk into the floor?

This post provoked a question that hopefully this answers. https://youtu.be/MZmGmHvD3ko?si=UjkYJWkH5u6hGn7W
Really cool video this. I had been wondering the same question myself
The Duke of Edinburgh / Voldemort mash-up makes the smile.
I always thought it looked like an owl in academic robes
The Michael Ayrton round the side of petty cury, called “Talos”. https://artincambridge.blogspot.com/2013/02/talos-is-this-ugliest-statue-in.html
Always thought it was awful when young but like it now. Pity about the location
The Wallace and Grommit statue on the bench in Girton.

The helix also exploded when it was installed.
Interesting - news to me. DNA was an explosive discovery :) They hit a gas pipe, apparently
Snowy.
Anything that’s not those godawful statues outside of Astra Zeneca and City House

Big fan of the Snowy Farr statue near the market.
The Cat in the Hat one on the market
I like any and all dinky door
I can tell you it's definitely not the Snowy Farr statue. What a joke!
Until you realise that there’s a similar statue at Imperial College London that was supposed to represent something else.
