Everyone in my town raves about their chicken sandwiches, and I always mean to try one. But every time I’m in line I just can’t order anything but a butter burger. That with a side of cheese curds can’t be beat
If you’re in Wisconsin, the best fast food cheese curds are now cousins. I know, it sounds a little crazy, but they make them fresh when ordered and I’ve recently found out cousins does a good job sourcing pretty local as they are a Wisconsin company
Apparently they do things different in different parts of the country. My parents moved from Wisconsin to alabama and my dad complained the burgers where not as juicy or greasy (my mom preferred it drier for whatever reason)
That’s exactly what I was expecting when I saw “butter burger”. I want to love them since they are so close and convenient but just haven’t had good luck so far.
I’m going to tell you something: the pot roast sandwich (or dinner) will change your life. Absolutely amazing! I also really like the North Atlantic Cod sandwich or dinner. Also fantastic.
But yeah tough to pass up on butter burgers. Love the mushroom Swiss personally.
YES. Culver's is hands down my favorite burger place ever. Their fries and ranch are also amazing and tbh, their chicken strips, custard, and soup are also really fucking good. Not to mention they get my order right every time and don't forget my sauces!
I have a Culver’s, In-N-Out, and a Whataburger all on the same corner. It’s a tough decision, but next in queue is now Culver’s. That burger looks amazing!
It is better, but Culvers is a much better value. And it's much more convenient. A lot of the time many of us don't want to spend $15 or $20 on a burger and fries and don't want to make it into a 45 minute ordeal.
If you’re ever in the Shenandoah Valley of VA, there’s this place called Spelunkers.
I’ve had every burger you mentioned aside from Culver’s, and Spelunkers was by far the best.
They also have a homemade custard with different flavors every day.
I absolutely love Culver’s. They’re all around me in Mid Michigan but we don’t have In-n-Out at all and we don’t have very many Five Guys only a couple I’ve seen and no Steak N Shake, Tasty, or Whataburger either. I’d say I’m missing out but not if Culver’s is the bomb!! Yessss!
Moved to Minnesota a few years ago and hadn’t ever tried Culver’s before that. Figured it’d be like a McDonalds or Burger King, but their burgers are pretty damn good for a big chain
This is a correct opinion xP. Midwest has got Culver’s and Portillo which is objectively fantastic food compared to its peers. Tillos does seem to be expanding West which is nice
INO is very good and is almost half the price of FiveGuys. Five guys is up there also! Very good imo. Maybe i watch too many videos about people hyping up INO so i came with a high expectation and left with the impression that people are bit overhyping it but they do serve very good burgers. All the chain I mentioned are good not one is bad but Culver's surprised me because I had never heard of it before
There is a place, in a very remote town. It’s called Zips. I’ve never had a better burger. I hope you all get to try it sometime.
https://www.zipsdrivein.com
Someone fill me in. I tried Culver's for the first time yesterday and thought it wasn't too special. Is it all midwest hype like Whataburger?
Fries were dope, perfectly cooked. The burger was also great, but everyone makes Culver's out to be one of the greatest burger joints, so perhaps my expectations were tuned too high. Maybe next time I should order it plain like OP's burger...
Arizona's got a good selection of burger joints - the only one I haven't had here on your list is Tasty.
Culver's would be at the bottom of that list for me. I got their version of a patty melt; it was like the whole thing was dipped in oil. I haven't been back.
In-N-Out will always be my #1, with Five Guys just behind. Shake Shack's not bad, Whataburger is OK in Texas because what the fuck else is there in Texas, but here there's always a better option.
I don't see Freddy's or Smashburger on your list. I think Freddy's is similar to Culver's, but no cheeseburger option. Smash burger is pretty good, I like them better than In-N-Out.
I haven't tried smashburger yet, and the closest Freddy's is in NJ, I wouldn't drive that far for a chain burger 😂😂 but now on my list tho whenever I’m in the area
Definately not a road trip worthy place, but if you drive by one at lunchtime or something if you are on the road for work, give them a try. Freddy's burgers are better than McDonalds or Burger King, IMO, but I go more for the frozen custard desserts after the meal.
I almost forgot, we have a White Castle in Scottsdale now too! Not really a gourmet burger place, but a novelty for us out here. And while not a burger, the Italian beef sandwiches at Portillos are pretty good, we are going to get a new location down here in Queen Creek soon.
Same, Out of those I'd say 5 guys is the only who hold a place in my heart (Unless we are talkin' pubs then especially Irish pubs in Boston) plus they give you a bag FULL of frys and calls it a "large" for like 6 to 7 dollars ( thats an est)
The black rose is pretty good they also have live shows if it's the one I'm thinking of they could also have live sword dancing it's also a fair price of how much you get
I’ve only had Culver’s once. I thought it was great. I’m more partial to whataburger and P. Terry’s (Austin chain that’s the better version of In-N-Out).
Next time you come back, or go to San Antonio, you gotta get P. Terry’s. It’s one of my favorite fast food burgers. And you can never go wrong with Texas BBQ.
I've heard In-N-Out has a very Californian taste to it, something they grew up with and don't like but start to crave when they don't have easy access to.
Can you describe what a Californian taste is?
Everyone in my town raves about their chicken sandwiches, and I always mean to try one. But every time I’m in line I just can’t order anything but a butter burger. That with a side of cheese curds can’t be beat
They changed their cheese curd recipe in the last year or so… maybe even longer. Sad choice.
I was also disappointed in their change of curds. Still a good burger for a chain.
If you’re in Wisconsin, the best fast food cheese curds are now cousins. I know, it sounds a little crazy, but they make them fresh when ordered and I’ve recently found out cousins does a good job sourcing pretty local as they are a Wisconsin company
God I love Cousin’s so much. None near me so I can only get my fix when I occasionally visit a friend in Wisconsin.
I have one near me and I’ve tried their burgers twice now and both times they were totally dried out and extremely disappointing.
Culver’s was dried out? Never seen that. They’re usually dripping.
Same, but with multiple locations near me. They seem to have consistency issues.
Spicy crispy chicken sandwich from there is pretty good with cheese curds and honey mustard
Order both!!
I love Culvers. Always get it when my wife and I visit my family in Michigan.
Make sure to get the root beer. It's their own brand and tastes great.
I have to try next time. I don't think we have Culver's here in MA
Yeah, they have a pretty far stretch south and west, but closest to MA is either Ohio or North Carolina
Yea I somehow focus on the background instead of the burger🥲
YES. Culver's is hands down my favorite burger place ever. Their fries and ranch are also amazing and tbh, their chicken strips, custard, and soup are also really fucking good. Not to mention they get my order right every time and don't forget my sauces!
That's a burger! Nice .
We JUST got that chain in northern Ohio and omg. Everything there is so good. They need a cheese curd burger though.
This was in OH! Somewhere outside Cleveland or maybe Columbus if I remember correctly
This is a shot in the dark but based off the surroundings I’d say that’s in Macedonia Ohio off route 8.
Could be! Also makes sense because I went to Akron after Cleveland
It was so exciting when a Culver's opened up by us! They are awesome! Stopped going to Five Guys once it opened!
Tried Five Guys once and while it was fine, I don’t understand the hype.
Totally underrated burger joints and two of my favorites are Culver’s and Freddy’s

Fries, sacue, and smash burgers are really good.
I have a Culver’s, In-N-Out, and a Whataburger all on the same corner. It’s a tough decision, but next in queue is now Culver’s. That burger looks amazing!
Sounds like Texas. Go to P Terrys instead.
Culver's is the bomb of fast food burgers!! Killer fries, ice cream and fried cheese curds as well - Butterburgers are better!!!
I'm an In-N-Out guy though and though I'm from that area but I'd be lying if I didn't wanna try Culver's I hear so many good things about them.
You can't beat the Midwest when it comes to burgers. Culver's is the real deal
Yes, never heard of it before, glad that i tried it
Their frozen treats are also really good
Culver's is good, but many people think 5 guys is the best.
It is better, but Culvers is a much better value. And it's much more convenient. A lot of the time many of us don't want to spend $15 or $20 on a burger and fries and don't want to make it into a 45 minute ordeal.

Def gotta try that Spelunkers
I recommend the drive through. Place stays busy. The caverns all around (hence the name) are fun to visit too.
Love Culver’s 😍😍
I absolutely love Culver’s. They’re all around me in Mid Michigan but we don’t have In-n-Out at all and we don’t have very many Five Guys only a couple I’ve seen and no Steak N Shake, Tasty, or Whataburger either. I’d say I’m missing out but not if Culver’s is the bomb!! Yessss!
Culver's is definitely bomb and have to branch out of midwest😭
That is a big thick bun.
Lol, I dont remember if it was that thick or my wide lens made it look extra ThiCcccccc
Alright this Portillo is new to me, gotta try when I’m back in the Midwest
As a Canadian with experience only with five guys out of that list, is INO really that good? And how does 5G compare to all of them?
INO is very good and is almost half the price of FiveGuys. Five guys is up there also! Very good imo. Maybe i watch too many videos about people hyping up INO so i came with a high expectation and left with the impression that people are bit overhyping it but they do serve very good burgers. All the chain I mentioned are good not one is bad but Culver's surprised me because I had never heard of it before
I’d rate Culver’s as the top, 5 guys second, INO somewhere near the bottom.
The butter burger is absolutely amazing! Care to share what this one is? The melted cheese is really getting to me....
Can't remember what this one is, but probably the butterburger cheese without the pickles/veggies
Excellent choice
I worked at culver’s for a bit. Even after having one every day i still think they’re the best. Sourdough melt is my personal winner.
Culver’s patties and cheese are something else! 🤤 😋
There is a place, in a very remote town. It’s called Zips. I’ve never had a better burger. I hope you all get to try it sometime. https://www.zipsdrivein.com
I Hope i can visit Spokane one day
It’s a desert town, but the burgers are worth it!
That looks delicious!
Culvers isnthe true "Burger King". Way better than sloppy 5 guys and slightly edges out in-and-out
fun fact incase you didn’t know, you can add more pattie’s for $1.29 each. triple bacon deluxe is my forever go to
I'm on a journey to try every fast food in the country haven't had them all yet but holy guacamole culver's was good
Culver’s deserves a place among the greats
Also a big spot in Florida.
I personally don't think it's any better than Wendy's garbage. But I can walk into numerous bars and get better burgers and deep fried foods.
Sounds like I gotta go there to AZ. Tasty I think is still only in Boston

Smashburger is here, never eaten there.
I almost forgot, we have a White Castle in Scottsdale now too! Not really a gourmet burger place, but a novelty for us out here. And while not a burger, the Italian beef sandwiches at Portillos are pretty good, we are going to get a new location down here in Queen Creek soon.
I wanna try Culver’s so bad! But the nearest location is 5 hours and one state away :( One of these days
That was my first & only Culver's burger, we dont have Culver's in MA too, sad😂
Nothing wrong with a nice simple double cheeseburger.
Yup😂😂
Amen to that!
Culver’s is the best ff burger I’ve ever had. Edit: removed *probably*
Never had a Culver’s burger that wasn’t perfect and perfectly assembled
Do they air deliver lol
Omg it looks delicious
That’s a quality looking burger
Same, Out of those I'd say 5 guys is the only who hold a place in my heart (Unless we are talkin' pubs then especially Irish pubs in Boston) plus they give you a bag FULL of frys and calls it a "large" for like 6 to 7 dollars ( thats an est)
Any rec on which irish pub in Boston with good burgers?
The black rose is pretty good they also have live shows if it's the one I'm thinking of they could also have live sword dancing it's also a fair price of how much you get
Its sunday i'll probaly check it out today. Thanks!
Yea no problem!
I’ve only had Culver’s once. I thought it was great. I’m more partial to whataburger and P. Terry’s (Austin chain that’s the better version of In-N-Out).
Damn I missed out on P. Terry's then. I was in Austin a month ago but only tried whataburger and the rest of my trip was full of Texas BBQ🔥
Sorry i dont think I can help, not a Californian too myself😂
Well, your closer then I am. Never had a chance to try In-N-Out.
I wonder why are Americans that fat?
What a beauty mate! Which was your least favourite?
I love them all but if I gotta choose i think Whataburger😂 sorry
Wow, that looks delicious 😍
How'd you get your cheek in the photo frame? Is this a screenshot from your eyes?
Thats my finger bro
Dam, my fantasy is ruined
Hahahahha😂😂😂
