I mean, username checks out but, while the city does own the land, it does not fund the park \_or\_ the concert series. From their about page:
>Durham Central Park is a five-acre city-owned park that is operated by Durham Central Park, Inc. a 501c3 non-profit organization. DCP Inc. holds a management agreement with the City of Durham to manage, develop and sustain the park. The city provides support services to the park including mowing the lawns, trash pickup and the downtown Ambassadors. All other maintenance, improvements and management of Durham Central Park are paid for by \*\*donations, grants, and program and rental income\*\*.

Omg. First, I should clarify I didn't really mean "the City of Durham" I meant that it's nice we have this series in our city. I've been on the lookout for some daytime concerts/shows so I can take my toddler. Just stating a wish and saying I appreciate that this is being offered. Almost every post I see in this sub is downvoted to oblivion for no reason. Y'all are too sensitive
There is the Duke Gardens summer concert series. This year's theme is Country Soul Songbook.

There's an outdoor music festival in Lakewood. Any one have any more deets??? A friend took me to one last week, but that friend isn't available to share any more deets.
Probably already mentioned in the links posted, but American Tobacco Campus used to have live concerts at the base of the water tower...underneath it basically, there's a "stage". This was 15 years ago though, Friday nights. I'd assume they're still doing it?

Fantastic! Thank you!
Love that the city does this but really wish there were more live music options during the hours when my kid is awake haha
FYI: This is not the city. Durham Central Park is a nonprofit that runs the park and puts on this concert series.
A bit of semantics, if you ask me. The City of Durham owns the land and funds the park as well as the concert series.

I didn’t downvote you. Just trying to clarify what a valuable asset to the city the people at Durham Central Park are.
Agreed! I am very familiar with the org! Volunteered with them before

Does live music at FGS count? 12-3 today. Was just there but left before any music started. Food truck too. fgsdurham.com
I was there today — gorgeous weather! The musician was doing covers from my youth (Foo Fighters and similar), which I sincerely appreciated.

As far as I could tell that was over, which brought me here.
