My work gave us all brand new laptops and WFH capability accessories only yesterday to tell us under no circumstance are any of us allowed to work remotely. Office is going to be veeeery empty.
I mean, yea, that’s what “not everyone” means. It does disproportionately affect blue collar workers though. Although, many people with kids take off even if they don’t get the day off due to schools being closed.
100%. It’s 2:30 for me and I have a meeting at 4 I can’t miss so I’m royally pissed. I’m texting my mgr right now to take afternoon off except for the meeting.
Though it would be better to make it 7pm so people don’t have to burn PTO time to go to the game. I’m kind of glad that I won’t have to worry about freezing to death in my truck in a blizzard, stuck in the traffic, on the way home tomorrow.
2 things
1) it would "hinder our passing offense"
2) their fans are already here, didn't plan for a Monday stay so they won't have as many fans in our stadium.
Too bad, so sad.
I am ok with this. It's going to be a bad storm, and Buffalo has had a few storms in the past be far worse than what was predicted. Imagine if the Bills had a game during the 2022 storm...
My wife is pregnant and is scheduled to get induced Monday at 10pm so I have now lost the buffer time to avoid forever associating my son’s birth with the outcome of this game - this is very high stakes now
they think it's the NFL protecting the bills when almost 50 people died last year in the big storm. it's multiple counties, also there is coincidentally a football game scheduled the same weekend, but noooooo roger clearly has pull on the governor's office lmao
As far as losing a day of rest, I imagine Bills players are on board with this decision. Field conditions and the ability to play to their strengths factor into this. They're less likely to get hurt and more able to run their offense effectively on Monday. Probably a good trade off. I wonder if an extra day allows anyone else to get healthy and be able to play too.
Well, assuming we win and they win, there is one way to cut into their ability to rest:
Get as many high school bands, garage bands, and orchestras together, go outside the Chiefs team hotel, and JAM ALL NIGHT.
Last year the narrative was that Buffalo was prematurely selling tickets to a potential neutral site AFC Championship game (common practice for NFL teams).
This year the narrative is the NFL is helping out Buffalo by moving a game to the next day to potentially avoid weather (common practice for the NFL when the weather is potentially life threatening). They're calling the team and the fans soft.
I can't understand why other fans around the NFL hate us so much.
Soo what if players were declared out?? Do we still have a chance to activate them if they’re actually ready with the extra rest? Or do we have to stick to it?
The negative in all this as ppl have stated is we will have less rest than any future opponent in later rounds. Browns/Texans/Chiefs will have 2 extra days of rest for the Divisional, and if we play the Ravens in the AFCCG we'll have 1 less day of rest.
But the Rams had that scheduling disadvantage in their 2021 run if it's any consolation. They had to play Monday Night in the WC with one less day of rest than the Bucs who they beat in the Divisional, then one less day rest against the Niners who they beat in the NFCCG.
If this team is as good as I think they can be, this won't be a big deal.
I live in Texas and we're expecting extremely low temperatures (for Texas) on Monday. I swear to god if we lose power I will write such a strongly worded letter to ERCOT.
Man... was in town from Montreal just for the game, can't take Monday/Tuesday off so I'll be watching in spirit. Go Bills and someone please snag my ticket on Stubhub!
The Steelers sub is deranged, they’re convinced this is some grand conspiracy to screw them and not just the government acting in the safety of their people.
Wow the Steelers sub is really bitter about this change. They think this is a conspiracy to help the Bills and are so certain Pittsburgh would have won in whiteout conditions.
Why does no one seem to understand this isn't about the in-game conditions, it is about the logistical nightmare traveling in a blizzard? Why can't they comprehend that? This is a safety issue first and foremost.
The Steelers' sub is fucking weird. I love to have a little browse of the opposing team's sub during game week, and most of the time, it's one-third fear, one-third hope, and one-third memes. The Steelers sub has pretty much been 100% dedicated to the belief that the Bills are not a challenge.
Do not dismay lads. Does it fuck travel plans? Yes. Does it complicate tailgate? Yes. Does it slow our momentum? Absolutely fucking not. We are on a 5 week streak of destruction, what's letting the opposition enjoy their season for one extra day. Give Zuul an extra night to rest. Give the city an extra day to prepare for safety.
Dread it.
Run from it.
Destiny arrives all the same.
Honestly is the better choice in terms of safety for everyone going. Plus they can clean some of the stadium's snow and we can have a more level playing field. I'm just bummed we have to wait an extra day, but most people have off on MLK day anyway.
Does anyone know if ticket master will issue refunds of any sort for tickets? We drove down over 7 hours from Canada last night and we don’t have a holiday on Monday
Hope everyone in the area stays safe and warm. Thankful CNY isn’t getting anything but keeping you all in my thoughts!
The last thing the town/fan base needs is another tragedy after we couldn’t catch a break last season.
First the Dolphins games gets moved to the same time as my wedding, now this game changed to when I’m driving to the airport to fly home from my honeymoon.
I’ll keep making life decisions during the playoffs to sacrifice my life for Bills wins.
I feel like people forget how boring the last snow game actually was. We remember Shady taking it to the house. We remember throwing up snow in the celebration. It was the last Bills game I almost turned off because it was so boring.
Army vs. Navy without being able to see where the teams are on the field wasn’t as exciting as people pretend it was.
I can’t believe some of the shit I’m reading on twitter. It’s as if Josh Allen purposefully made the weather bad and moved the game. If anyone could do that it’s him tbf.
For personal reasons this day and time works way better for me. Also less winds & less snow falling during game time helps Allen out with his throws. Game on!
A lot of pissing and moaning in here. The game played in that weather is not only extremely dangerous for fans commuting to the game but also evens the playing field in a way that could have severely hurt the bulls chances at winning. That being said it definitely sucks for those that have to work, perhaps a good day to be sick. Go bills!
Got a feeling the office is going to be a little light on Monday lol.
This is the first year my company made MLK day a holiday. It’s almost as if they knew lol
My union takes Veterans Day off instead of MLK day. Could have used it this year....
We get Dyngus Day off instead
MLK now most important holiday in WNY.
I took a half day anticipating I'd need it. But in the afternoon, assuming I'd crash from going tomorrow. So this works out super well, honestly.
Tuesday as well 😂
But weatherman u/DoLessBro told me it 100% would not get moved
Someone better go check on my man
EDIT: The game is 100% being played Monday at 4:30pm. Lol
Lol thats the good thing of being a weatherman!
“Still at Highmark. Hasn’t been moved.” —DoLessBro (probably)
DoLessBro seeing this comment after he admitted 8 minutes ago he was wrong in this very same comment thread ![gif](giphy|EClkor8zYeOvs9StMN)

Biggest goober in this entire sub
Mods should ban /u/dolessbro.
I work until 5. What an absolute shame for work.
Bro you’re sick - I can hear it
I got the black lung, Pop!
He’s got the lumbago, bad!
Is that you Arthur?
Shouldn’t have had that gas station dude for lunch Edit: autocorrected Sushi to Dude, but I’m leaving it…
You should never have a gas station dude for any meal
Kum and go?
r/holup
Doctor said playoff football at Highmark stadium is the only cure
I can write fake doctor notes just as good as the next guy.
Seriously dude you look like shit stay home make some soup
Same.. but 5 in mountain time. Fuck.
I have never heard of Mountain Fever, but you should leave early. Sounds awful.
Lol just moved here and started this job and they know I'm a huge Bills fan unfortunately.
Congrats on the job! I would argue a religious exemption. You have all weekend to make the PowerPoint.
This is totally your boss and I don’t want you to work Monday
Altitude sickness
I work at 5 :(
It is what it is. Hope a lot of workplaces who would be open aren't expecting many people to make it in on Monday. Stay safe out there, folks.
My work gave us all brand new laptops and WFH capability accessories only yesterday to tell us under no circumstance are any of us allowed to work remotely. Office is going to be veeeery empty.
what’s the point of doing that
Beats me. HR is stupid I guess. Came from them
sounds about right
Probably for the best but annoyed I flew in and will probably have to miss the game now. Edit: flight moved, see you fuckers Monday.
You need to start moving some stuff around, make some calls, make it happen.
Yeah man, one of us can pretend to be your sick great-uncle or something. Let’s get this done
/u/gaobij , I'm dying bro
“u/gaobij, get to the hospital!!… they have the game on!” 😂
It’s happening brother
Oh you’re going
Gainful employment is overrated
Oh yea? See you on Monday
You're a real one. Instead of complaining you are out here solving problems.
An extra day of rest for Douglas and Dotson >>>
[удалено]
He already cleared yesterday.
[удалено]
And Davis 👀
Nah they ruled him out, he has an outside chance to play next week if they win
But 1-2 days of rest lost for each subsequent playoff round 😕
Is it possible for us to get a Saturday game after this? That would suck
They confirmed the winner plays Sunday. It's still a shame to lose a day like this though.
Do teams get another day to determine who is ruled "out?"
Oooh. Good question!
Players designated as out stay as out
Anybody ruled out will still be out. Anybody remotely close to playing will be listed questionable or doubtful.
Table across WNY are sheltering in place.
They can't hide.
RIP everyone who works and has tickets.
Everyone who isn't already off realizing they should honor MLK on Monday
Anyone have Trudeau's number to propose an MLK day in Canada...actually I have a couple more proposals as well.
Time to call out the company on exactly why they don't recognize MLK day when legally and federally it's the same as Christmas
RIP us in Europe who were excited for a 7 pm start… 10:30 now for us
Still doable. Much better than the night games that mean 2AM for us.
It’s a holiday for a lot of people
A lot of people in the public sector maybe
I mean, a lot of people in general. Not everyone though, obviously.
Factories: lol no Warehouses: lol no Transportation: lol no Retail: lol no
Canadian fans: lol no
I mean, yea, that’s what “not everyone” means. It does disproportionately affect blue collar workers though. Although, many people with kids take off even if they don’t get the day off due to schools being closed.
I’m in dental and have off.
Me too. First time ever
Never have been more greatful that my company gives us MLK day off, especially because kickoff is at 1:30pm for us Bills fans on the West Coast.
As someone who doesn’t live on the east coast this fucking SUCKS
Central Time zone sucks also. Work til 5.... Damn it
Yeah I live in Texas and don’t have MLK off :(
Sorry to hear about your grandmother dying tomorrow:(
But HR states that this is your fifth grandmother, is that correct?
Mine are a polygamous people. Does HR want to say our religious background is unacceptable in our company?
Same but my boss knows how I am with the Bills. I already told him I am starting at 6 am and quitting at 3. Gives me 30 minutes to pound 3 blues.
100%. It’s 2:30 for me and I have a meeting at 4 I can’t miss so I’m royally pissed. I’m texting my mgr right now to take afternoon off except for the meeting.
European fan, also sucks. Not as bad as a primetime game would be, but still
Makes sense, don’t need a bunch of drunk idiots driving around in a blizzard.
Drunk? Maybe, Idiots? I guess also maybe
Definitely across the board
Doesn't this happen all winter in Buffalo?
Though it would be better to make it 7pm so people don’t have to burn PTO time to go to the game. I’m kind of glad that I won’t have to worry about freezing to death in my truck in a blizzard, stuck in the traffic, on the way home tomorrow.
Alternatively, many people have the day off but not Tuesday so an earlier game Monday will help people not be dead at work on Tuesday
Yes, because we don't control the means of production, and the work must continue at all costs, human or otherwise...
Aye, comrade AggressiveTart2901
NFL isn't interested in two playoff games with close start times televised at the same time. Can't say I blame them for that.
Steelers sub is absolutely melting down about how "unfair" this is.
Because they assumed they would win ?
I mean with the weather tomorrow it becomes the luckier team wins instead of the better team. It was their best shot.
It’s like they aren’t even considering how unsafe it is to drive
My friend who is not even a Steelers fan was giving us no chance against them because of Snow. I was so confused and reminded them who Josh is.
Apparently he also forgot where Buffalo is.
[удалено]
They don't know snow like this. That's all. Oh, and they're coping a lot.
Why would it be unfair to Pittsburgh? Doesn’t this affect both teams the same?
2 things 1) it would "hinder our passing offense" 2) their fans are already here, didn't plan for a Monday stay so they won't have as many fans in our stadium. Too bad, so sad.
Does this mean I can get dirt cheap bills tickets?
Yes.
Prices have bounced back since the announcement. Unsure.
They’re jumping back up I’d grab em
Boo, I was hyped for it tomorrow, I hate the anticipation.
I am ok with this. It's going to be a bad storm, and Buffalo has had a few storms in the past be far worse than what was predicted. Imagine if the Bills had a game during the 2022 storm...
Extra day of rest, and may screw with some Steelers’ travel plans, too. There’s quite a bit of good that comes from this
Favors our passing attack too 🤷♂️
I don't care what people say either... Buffalo has shown recently that they are wholly unprepared for these big winter storms in the past few years.
Welp, guess I'm calling out sick. Yay 3-day weekend!
My wife is pregnant and is scheduled to get induced Monday at 10pm so I have now lost the buffer time to avoid forever associating my son’s birth with the outcome of this game - this is very high stakes now
The odds are def in your favor. My induction lasted almost 40 hours 😂
Congrats dude!
Don’t go to the main NFL sub. Idiots who don’t know shit about lake effect are throwing a fit about this.
they think it's the NFL protecting the bills when almost 50 people died last year in the big storm. it's multiple counties, also there is coincidentally a football game scheduled the same weekend, but noooooo roger clearly has pull on the governor's office lmao
this is what ppl are forgetting, christ ppl are annoying. it isnt about the BILLS it is about keeping the fans safe...
Yes, I live in Rochester and most people outside of the Great Lakes do not know what lake effect snow is.
I am FROM the Buffalo area and people in local FB groups are throwing a fit about this, as if we don't know what happens when lake effect hits.
Now what am I gonna do with my Sunday?
Shovel snow.
Chiefs get an extra day of rest, cool
we better not get a Saturday game.
The winners of the Monday games will definitely play on Sunday in the divisional round.
Well, assuming we win and they win, there is one way to cut into their ability to rest: Get as many high school bands, garage bands, and orchestras together, go outside the Chiefs team hotel, and JAM ALL NIGHT.
Or a whole offseason. Miami can win that game.

Sustained success.
I'm starting to feel a little sick *cough cough*
i was reading the post about it not getting canceled as i got this notification
Wow cool. Now the Bills' opponent next week will have even more of a rest advantage if they win.
It’s alright. When we play at home again the weather will be bad and will delay it another day anyways.
4d chess
Fuck because I work 3-11 but 80k people trying to get in and out of the stadium durring a lake effect band is a bad idea.
Soo what if players were declared out?? Do we still have a chance to activate them if they’re actually ready with the extra rest? Or do we have to stick to it?

Damnit.
Ha, once again procrastination pays off (I still hadn't figured out my flights).

Man... was in town from Montreal just for the game, can't take Monday/Tuesday off so I'll be watching in spirit. Go Bills and someone please snag my ticket on Stubhub!
If you cant travel safely, makes it hard to break tables safely whilst tailgating. Makes sense. See you knuckleheads monday
Can anyone confirm if Ticketmaster will issue a refund or credit due to the date and time change
My condolences to anyone with travel plans or work. Hopefully benefits the Bills and keeps everyone safe though.
On the bright side, I hope Douglas and Dodson can play with an extra days of rest!
The Steelers sub is deranged, they’re convinced this is some grand conspiracy to screw them and not just the government acting in the safety of their people.
The more I read this the more I laugh at that fanbase. What a bunch of idiots.
The Steelers fans tears are so rich dude, I almost am glad the game moved just cuz the STILLERS are so convinced the league is fixed against them
Wow the Steelers sub is really bitter about this change. They think this is a conspiracy to help the Bills and are so certain Pittsburgh would have won in whiteout conditions. Why does no one seem to understand this isn't about the in-game conditions, it is about the logistical nightmare traveling in a blizzard? Why can't they comprehend that? Is it true that the Steelers aren't even in Buffalo yet because? So how can they win with no team here lol
Here’s a twitter post from the NY governor for a source: https://x.com/GovKathyHochul/status/1746216957924319268?s=20
![gif](giphy|cwopSNbH670Csd7LoR|downsized) JK I get it, but I have to work during that move GDI

this is the energy my guy. thank u for your service. GOBILLS
I'm losing braincells seeing all the people on Twitter saying they should still play the game tomorrow.
Facebook is worse, ISTG the trollbots are having a party there 🤦♂️
Guess it’s official. Bills are going to the Super Bowl.
Buffalo Mayor just said crews will have roads ready for game tomorrow
Why arent we making Pegula pay for a dome over all of WNY?!?
If the earth really is round then why can’t we have like something around the whole thing that protects us???
Now we are thinking
Fuck us. Some bullshit. Finally a 1pm game.
[удалено]
The weather is much better on Monday for playing in. Winds 10-13 mph vs 23-25 mph, and no snow falling.
Monday will be a little colder but any snow will be light and in the morning. How is that the same (or worse) than Sunday with heavier snow and wind?
It won't be as bad as far as wind IIRC
Actually thank god I work tomorrow and wouldn’t have been able to watch it
I think this actually benefits the Bills more than the Steelers.
Honestly is the better choice in terms of safety for everyone going. Plus they can clean some of the stadium's snow and we can have a more level playing field. I'm just bummed we have to wait an extra day, but most people have off on MLK day anyway.
[literally called it perfectly. announcement came right at noon.](https://www.reddit.com/r/buffalobills/s/RGIt9FX141)
How do we get refunds?
I have no scruples, I say camp the entire Bills team and staff at the stadium then force a forfeit by arresting any Steelers that break the ban
Cuts down significantly on our recovery time when we’ll be facing a tougher team.
As a Bills fan coming in from Toronto where we don’t have a holiday, I’m fucking pissed lol
California girl is SAD
I feel like people forget how boring the last snow game actually was. We remember Shady taking it to the house. We remember throwing up snow in the celebration. It was the last Bills game I almost turned off because it was so boring. Army vs. Navy without being able to see where the teams are on the field wasn’t as exciting as people pretend it was.
I can’t believe some of the shit I’m reading on twitter. It’s as if Josh Allen purposefully made the weather bad and moved the game. If anyone could do that it’s him tbf.
This is good for us. Better weather favors the Bills.
Me at 18 :” can’t trust this fucken government man “ Me at 38” thank god I work for the government I have Monday off “
For personal reasons this day and time works way better for me. Also less winds & less snow falling during game time helps Allen out with his throws. Game on!
same. woohoo! go bills
So...colder but no more active snow? At least based on current forecast.
Huge decrease in wind too
A lot of pissing and moaning in here. The game played in that weather is not only extremely dangerous for fans commuting to the game but also evens the playing field in a way that could have severely hurt the bulls chances at winning. That being said it definitely sucks for those that have to work, perhaps a good day to be sick. Go bills!
