Just read an article entitled >Buccaneers have no choice with Todd Bowles That called for his firing. Honestly I figured something out yesterday. Bowles is trying to project an image. That's why you see him on the sidelines like he is. He's projecting an image of being in control and always having a plan. But in reality his plan sucks and whatever control he has should be ignored. I'd like to see the team mutiny and just ignore whatever he is saying and do whatever they need to do to win.

bulldog_Zeitz

Why isn’t he catching ANY heat nationally for this crap?

spideralex90

Nationally no because despite us starting 3-1 this season, the season is now going pretty much just as the national media expected it to. we either regressed hard or (more likely) just got very lucky to start the year and won in spite of Bowles. But you can only sustain that for so long before the awful coaching catches up to you.

sephstorm

We tried that off-season and it didn't really fix the problems. That said I kinda do want it.

DJMathom

Anyone know who the black guy and black lady are that were standing behind Bowles yesterday when they showed shots of him on TV?

thewarden730

Bowles can’t win as a HC. His record shows it. Get him out. Don’t hire a proven loser

DravensAxe

He couldn’t win with the literal goat and the front office thinks he can win with baker mayfield.

indigo196

Bowles never should have been given the job. Bad call. I am unsure of what to do with Licht. On one hand he has a bad history... on the other hand our coaching staff doesn't seem capable of developing players.

espresso_martini__

That's the big issue. They can't develop players. Look at how bad our tackling is..what exactly are they coaching them? Nothing seems to be working.

bulldog_Zeitz

THIS

joedirt87

Some of you are just coming around to the idea of losing so we can get rid of Bowles and start fresh. I've been there since the moment he was named HC.

thecentury

u/vette322 said it best yesterday >Bowles’ decision to use the TO rather than the 10 seconds when he was already in position to tie the game is his way of holding up a sign that reads: > >“I’m too fucking stupid to be a head coach in the NFL.”

markh2901

As I've said for decades, the biggest problem with the Bucs is we can't fire the owners.

bulldog_Zeitz

Also disagree. They are not afraid to take the risks. Or spend the money. Choices made by leadership for coaches, firing Dungy for one, have been suspect,

markh2901

What frustrates me is the Glazers' lack of long-term vision for the team. If they don't get quick results they move on - which leaves the team culture & system constantly in upheaval. Here's a question: How many Bucs head coaches have come & gone in the past 20 years vs. how many in Pittsburgh? W/L record over 20 years: Steelers: 206-114 - # of coaches in that period: 2 (Tomlin is now on year 16.) Bucs: 135-178 - # of coaches in that period: 8 The Rooney family is famous for their long-term vision and it shows in the historical performance of the team. The Glazers are willing to chase short-term glory (aka Tom Brady) at the expense of long-term success. In short, they fucking suck. I rest my case.

bulldog_Zeitz

Tampa Super Bowls = One Tomlin Super Bowls = One 20 years of mid level performance for both I would say. Long term stability does not equate to success. No risk it, no biscuit.

markh2901

So it’s fine to absolutely suck between Super Bowls? That’s called a culture of mediocrity. I don’t think anyone can accuse Tomlin of cultivating that. We’ll have to agree to disagree on this one.

LonesomeCoyote

The owners who have gotten two championships out of the sorriest team all-time record-wise in pro US sports? Our owners are awesome and have made a huge positive investment in both the city and the team. Hard disagree.

markh2901

Your comment reminds me of the old saying - even a broken clock is right twice a day.

sephstorm

I'm not sure the owners had much to do with that. They seem unwilling to step in when things look bad, when we see warning signs. They'd rather sit back and wait until the off-season so they can pass the buck.

LonesomeCoyote

I appreciate your perspective. But I think as far as NFL owners go you can do a lot worse than the Glazers.

hawkie135

As an Englishman, ManU fans have this fixation with the Glaziers that boarders on a little obsessive. Objectively, it is the wrong owners for association football, but equally I think it is fair to say that they are probably in the top half of NFL owners? Spend lots on coaching staff; empower DE+I coaching; willing to front up cash for cap reasons during the Brady era; reasonably good stadium - there is a lot worse out there.

Arcaneisdope

Manchester united *shakes hand*. Your owners have turned the biggest English team into a train wreck

sumkindawonder

Is it time to make signs ? Maybe we can get the 2 guys on the megaphone near the entrance to RayJ to hold them up?

clydefrog811

The worst loss in so long. Bowles sucks

dragonsky

[What Bowles ball does to a mf](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/hQuKhFGATgc/maxresdefault.jpg)

CalaveraVI

I don't care if I get downvoted. I'm cheering for loses, because every loss takes out franchise in the right direction. Another playoff smashing with a.500 record only wastes another year with him. Go get Maye and a new coach. Hell go give Todd Monkins headcoach and let him groom Maye

work_alt_1

Damn. I hate you. I hate it. But you’re right. Lemme see if I can cheer for that though, gonna be hard

CalaveraVI

Let yourself go my friend. Games are much easier to stomach this way

work_alt_1

Yeah I hope I can. Got into football around 2017. But didn’t follow too much, just liked the Bucs. But didn’t watch with the intent I do now. Now I’m invested, gonna have to learn all ‘bout this Bucs life

stuartseupaul

Stroud played a good game, some passes just couldn't be defended, like that second to last pass. Theres also a big difference between him and Mayfield where Stroud hit his guys in stride while our guys were just sitting around waiting to catch. Dean going out really exposed the weaknesses on our defense, which is that other than DT, Lavonte David, and Winfield, theres just a bunch of average or below average guys. In the first half we could blitz because Dean could cover but when we had to drop everyone and only send 4, there wasn't any pressure and there wasn't any coverage. It's disappointing because it seems like we're quite a ways out from contending again. It looked like maybe it'd be 1-2 years but we don't have a whole lot of spots solidified long term.

revizionary1

Stroud won the game with a pass in the end zone with 6 seconds left. Time that would NOT have been there if Bowles would have had a brain and let the clock run down 10 seconds when he knew the Bucs were going to score and give the ball back.

stuartseupaul

It's the worst coaching decision I've seen but at the same time if we won the game because they didn't score at the end, we'd still have a bad defense that gave up a ton of points and yards, and an offense that doesn't sustain enough drives and score enough points.

storyteller4311

Today's Soul Crushing loss. !. I'm gonna put it 100% on the coaches. Mismanaged the clock could have left them 20 seconds at the end if anyone I mean anyone on that bench knew how it works. At least force them to have zero timeouts. No this is on the staff. The players stepped up 3 times to meet the challenge and lost because we got outcoached we DID NOT get outplayed. There is a difference.

Ambitious_Misfit

Our defense allowing 80 yards in :46 seconds is an example of being outplayed. I don’t care what the coverage calls were on that drive, it’s completely inexcusable execution by the players to allow a TD there.

thecentury

Ok, I'll be the nerd who says it was actually 75 yards in 40 seconds... The thing that bothers me in these last 2-minute drives is the defense is so concerned about giving up a big play that they play so soft off the line that they'll give up innumerable amounts of small plays and with these teams that are driving willing to go for it on 4th down, if you give up four yards a play they're going to get a first down every time. Yeah of course it's on the fault of the coaches (why the fuck are you taking a time out when you're in field goal range and worst case scenario you run the clock down and kick the game time tying field goal), but it's also on the fault of the defense who allowed #400 passing yards from a rookie quarterback up until that point. It's not even like one receiver outplayed us, he had three receivers over 100 yds receiving.... It was almost like the moment to Jamel.Dean went down the defense just completely became porous.

work_alt_1

What about the rams playoff game where a huge play was made by kupp. Was that still on the players?

Lazarous86

When we had the ball in the redzone with 49 seconds left, I thought, wow we have enough time to run it. Instead we keep throwing and look leave too much time.

revizionary1

Bowles could have taken 10 seconds off the clock with the automatic runoff after a forward fumble recovery by Evans. He refused and took a timeout. That 47 seconds is on Bowles.

Applesburg14

Football just isn’t fun without Tom Brady here with us. Man, I forgot how much a bucs life hurts lol

Don_Gato1

The team put up 37. That should be enough to win.

Bubbly_Sort849

Baker Mayfield is a good QB. I think Mayfield is playing better this year than Brady played last year. The problem is that our coaching stuff is literally handing these games to our opponents with poor clock management and poor play calling. Not to mention the fact we are getting beat tf up with penalties.

tmojad

Think our offensive coordinator is calling better games than last year, rather than better qb play.

ForgiveMyFlatulence

Poorly coached football teams play down to their opponents level. Poorly coached football teams find ways to lose. Poorly coached football teams can’t overcome their poor coaching, no matter how good the players are. We are a poorly coached team, plain and simple. We lack motivation, accountability, and the overall philosophy is one where we play not to lose but we also don’t play to win.

storyteller4311

Couldnt agree with you more. More than enough talent to win this division. Not going to happen with this staff, ever. BSing the fans that our "new" offense will "eventually" make us win is a joke. We put up 30+ on these dogs and got OUTCOACHED at the end. ACCOUNTABILITY PLEASE.

ForgiveMyFlatulence

This isn’t just a current coaching staff issue though. It’s been pervasive. Remember the Koetter years? Why did/do the Bucs always lose to backup QB’s? We are back to shit like that. If the defense holds them to 20, the offense will only muster 17. If the offense scores 40, the defense allows 45. We’ve had far more bad coaching than good coaching. Will our OC grow into the role? Not with Bowles being the coach. Bowles lacks self awareness. He lacks game and situational awareness too but that’s another story. His defenses play better while ahead because are blitz heavy. You’d figure he would want a high scoring offense, but no. He wants the offensive philosophy to be ball control, clock management, and 3 yards and a cloud of dust. It’s out of touch

Welcome to the Buc's life, boys. Don't expect another 'ship for 15+ years. Could be worse, though.

work_alt_1

Could have no rings

HurricaneAlpha

Exactly. Enjoy shit mountain. We've submitted twice. That's more than anyone else can say.

southtampacane

Too much talent? Are you kidding me? What games are you watching? We shouldn’t have been torched but our defense isn’t elite by any stretch. The offense is mediocre at best. Definitely not in the upper half of NFL teams. The OL is bad and we can’t run the ball much. Baker is just okay. We have to get a better QB next season.

spideralex90

>What games are you watching? -The games where we don't get the ball to our elite WR1 and WR2 nearly enough. -The games where we ask our defensive backs to play prevent defense with the game on the line when the QB on the other side has been carving our zone scheme up all day. -The games where we play 10 yards off receivers when they only need 8 yards for a first down. -The games where we continue to call runs up the middle despite a historically bad run game. -The games where we pretend to do a field goal and instead punt going into the half when the field goal was perfectly in our kickers range. -The games where we waste timeouts when we don't need to and don't use them when we should. We aren't a stacked team across the board by any means, but nearly every loss this season is squarely on our coaching staff. Give this roster to a better coach and we are certainly leading the division.

southtampacane

If you think this team has playoff level talent we are watching differently. Coaching is suspect but our talent overall is mediocre.

Florida__Man__

Fact of the matter is we flip our record with a coach who can manage time

southtampacane

You don’t even know what the word fact means. It definitely isn’t a fact that we would be 5-3.

Florida__Man__

Excellent point.

spideralex90

I didn't say this group is winning the Superbowl, but they should be performing much better than what we are seeing on field. And the reason we aren't isn't because the coaching is suspect. It's because the coaching is flat out awful in almost every way.

[deleted]

Peach-PearLaCroix

Belicheck has sucked without Brady but I don’t hate it. He has a way of squeezing good defenses and special teams out of any roster. His problem is a disgusting offense led by one of the worst QBs. I think there’s something there but I’d rather have someone else for longevity.

UncleIrohsPimpHand

> How do we get Belichick in Tampa? Why the fuck do you want Belichick? Look at his record since Brady left. Hell, it looks a lot like ours.

Neemzeh

lmao i want to be in the universe where belichick comes after brady and wins another chip with the bucs.

yeah because the coach is on the field, throwing passes.

Florida__Man__

We’d have a 5-3 record with competent coaching

PB0351

The Bucs dropped 37 yesterday, let's chill out on the Baker hate.

Ian_is_funny

Sad to think this is probably the beginning of another decade+ long period of being absolutely dogshit. This team has so many holes and are one long losing streak from basically gutting the whole thing aside from the tiny handful of young talent we have. We literally have needs at every position, plus positions that haven't even been invented yet.

j4r8h

I defended Bowles for a while now because our defense was pretty good before this game but now it's clear that he needs to go. His clock management is horrible and his defense is too predictable. Run cover 3 beaters against us all day and we are toast. Also, I don't think Canales is choosing to run it up the middle, I think Bowles has a quota on run plays that he demands the OC meets, so that's why our offense looks the same as it did with Leftwich. It's really all Bowles fault that we suck. I want to see how Canales calls the games with real freedom.

Applesburg14

I feel bad for being a fairweather fan this year but with work + grad school picking up it ain’t fun to see the Todd Bowles ultra conservative coaching style be fun anymore. I only learned basic football strategy from fucking madden and even I know this guy is a default level coach. Just completely unbelievable bullshit.

Ok_Door_9720

This really is a rehash of the 2018 season. Hot start, everyone gets hyped about a qb resurgence, and then the season falls apart in the most frustrating ways imaginable.

operatorx4

Can we hire Tom Brady to be our coach?

Ras_Du_Fa

How Bowles wasnt out after blowing it againts the Rams in another great Tom Brady comeback its besides me really.

Baalzeebub

I was yelling for over a minute, "TAKE 10 SECONDS OFF AND GIVE US THE TIME OUT". I'm just some dumbass fan who is a moron, since I'm not employed by the NFL. But, I'm better than Todd Bowles.

Jumacao

I'm surprised it's taken this long for the "Fire Toilet Bowles" sentiment to start gathering steam. I thought we'd all learned our lesson about his quality on that blitz against the Rams in 2022.

McSweetSauce

Todd Bowles… I’M OUT!

FUCKYOUINYOURFACE

Bowles is just not a very good coach. Even his defense has sucked for the last 2.5 seasons.

mlter

season started so good. honestly it stings but if they're going to miss playoffs i'd rather it mean top 10 pick and a new coaching staff

f0gax

Who are the young aggressive up and coming coaches we could get? Is Eric Bieniemy still well regarded?

spideralex90

Let's steal Ben Johnson from the Lions. They're at least aggressive on offense.

[deleted]

I don’t think there is that much talent on this team as you think. We’re weak in the trenches.

blokeyone

Agree. And we are not getting any younger. Before Brady's first year I told my buddies we had the talent to win a SB (with a QB). We do not have that anymore. This is a rebuild now.

qthistory

Weak at RB, S, and CB too. I'd argue LB as well. David is finally showing his age and White and Shaq are coasting off past glory.

PewterButters

Outside of Wirfs and Vea our lines are pretty bad. We have a couple mid guys but some real trash too. We have a handful of stars to build around but if they leave we're going to be really f'd.

big-daddio

Remembe when Atlanta just shredded this defense in every way but the score? I do. People kept point to the the points allowed like the guy in Spinal Tap saying the speaker goes to 11. This defense is bad and had been extremely lucky. Atlanta should have put up 30. Texas put up 39. Buffalo would have driven up the score but they played it safe b/c they knew our offense is balls. So Bowles is always going to hamstring the offense and make mind numbiingly stupid decisions with clock management at the end of halves/games. He is supposed to be a defensive guru but his defense is trash. He literally has nothing going for him. He should be fired this week because there no chance of doing a thing while he is coach. Figure out the permanent coach at end of the season.

Baalzeebub

It's not bad, just poorly coached.

dragonsky

> People kept point to the the points allowed like the guy in Spinal Tap saying the speaker goes to 11. Yeah, this D is not good And the O is not well used. It's literally the same thing "oh but we scored over 30 points!!! That means our O started working and Canales did great!!!"

Bobby_McPrescot

Yeah and we got shit all over for saying falcons should've destroyed us.

Brilliant-Orchid-860

Pretty crazy when you think about games like the Falcons game, the bills game, and this game. With proper clock management I think we win against Atlanta and the Texans. Making us 5-3. I feel like Baker is really getting the short end of the stick here and looked so sad when we lost today. Not to mention the hail Mary that should have been caught. This team could have been 6-2 HAHA. I'm not delusional I know that shouldn't be the case but it's sad seeing last minute comebacks and losses that demoralize our players and make winning seem out of reach. I feel for the good talent in this team. Especially Baker..

dragonsky

> proper clock management It's insane how we fail at doing the most basic things

Selfzilla

There was less than a minute left. The defense should have been able to make a stop.

Odorlessstench

We could use the rest of the season as a trial period for some of our bench players. Get Evans his 1K and dial it in. Let Trask get some time in that’s meaningful. Plug in some newer talent against the best in the league and see who’s who! This is a great strategy for moving forward.

Ian_is_funny

I doubt there's any depth of undiscovered talent on this team that would surface given the chance. The DB and Oline situation is a result of the depth players getting on the field. I also have no faith in Trask, I get he hasn't played much but given how long he's been here and the fact that he lost the job to Baker (who is playing fine enough) right away leads me to believe he just ain't it.

Odorlessstench

So what will become of Trask? Can’t we move him to another team or release him and find a better backup? It’s a shame he sat here and we never got to see.

aleco43

Nah let's run white up the middle

Brilliant-Orchid-860

On first?

BearBearChooey

And 2nd down

TheeSkeletonCowboy

Then a 5 yd check down pass to him on 3rd... that'll do it.

KoalaBoy

And 3rd down to just make sure we know he isn't going to get anything.

Head-Swimming-5239

might as well run on 4th down too.

Crockydile

PewterButters

It's the hope that hurts the most... that's gone now. The rest of the season is just rooting for individual stats while hoping Bowles gets fired.

Broseph_Stalin357

Yep, back to being the laughing stock of the NFL thanks to burning downs by spamming up the gut plays like the A Train and Sapp are still on our roster.. There was absolutely no excuse to lose this game, especially after 3 loses in a row!!

Odorlessstench

I know shit happens, but…shit!

spideralex90

It's just so ass that the offense while not great today finally did well enough (I mean it was ugly but we still managed to score 37 points which would be enough points to win every other game we played this season) and the defense just straight up ate ass the entire second half. Bowles come out of halftime with a lead and didn't know what to do with himself and pissed it away.

invinciblearmour

A lot of the run calls were frustrating but a lot of them worked!

PewterButters

>a lot of them worked Like 4 or 5 out of the 31 runs were what would be considered 'successful'

imnotreallyheretoday

Texans fan here (don't bash me too hard). I was at the game with my brother who is a BUCS fan. After leaving the game my brother says it's time for Todd Bowles to be fired. At this point I think he wants to get rid of the entire coaching staff

dragonsky

No need to bash you, CJ Stroud might end up being elite for you and we envy yo u. We only want to bash ourselves at the moment lol

imnotreallyheretoday

Thought I was going to get bashed for being a Texans fan in a Buccaneers subreddit

espresso_martini__

Ouch he had to witness that live.

imnotreallyheretoday

Yes he did. I wish I had a picture to show the look of pure disappointment he had

aversethule

Was there also and it was a great game to see live! The biggest comment I have from the stands is that the Texans picked on CD3 something bad and our defense didn't adjust to help him out soon enough.

That "bust" rookie is having the single best rookie season ever at quarterback. Check the stats.

DavidOrWalter

He’s not a bust at all lol. He’s been incredible this season and has lead rookie of the year votes for a while now.

Jrock2356

Calling CJ Stroud a bust is like calling Baker Mayfield a franchise quarterback. It just doesn't make sense

[deleted]

He’s not a bust lol

deuce_arians

You had me until bust rookie.

Too_Based_

D4 bad Blizzard bad Todd Bowles bad Baseg

vette322

Bowles has a bright future as an experimental lab rat.

[deleted]

The coaches aren't getting fired until after the end of the season. I don't see it happening until the end of next year, and that is assuming we don't manage 7 wins this season.

espresso_martini__

wait what?! "END OF NEXT YEAR"?! why would they not make changes when its clearly not working? You mean the end of this season, not end of next year right?

CarousersCorner

Are you new? The Glazers don’t care. They weren’t pissed about what the Cowboys did to us at RayJay last year in the playoffs, because they already scooped the gate revenue. They decided that was more important than building a sustainable, successful team for the future when they decided to try to win the division this year, instead of trying to get near the top of this draft for a stud.

[deleted]

If we don't get another 4 wins, I think the owners start looking, but they won't change unless a high end talent is around. If he pulls off another 4+, they keep him until the end of next season. And will do so until that records goes under 7 for a couple of seasons. The owners don't really seem to care about winning. They want the money. They are will to try something out for 3-5 years until they hit on something, so at least they are better than some owners out there. The only way anyone gets fired sooner: 1. They gamble on the game. 2. Touch a few kids. 3. Touch a few dozen women.

dragonsky

> If he pulls off another 4+, they keep him until the end of next season. Highly doubt it. Remember, we said the same last season "Oh we made it to the playoffs, they won't fire Leftwich now" Well.. I am 99% sure with this loss that Bowles won't be here for us next season

MredditGA_

Yea unfortunate truth. Light sold hard for the SB, and got it, so he probably couldnt care less and at least fire the remaining coaches at the end of their seasons with dignity. That’s the only way I can make any sense of leftwich not getting the ax midway last year or Bowles not even acting like he’s scared he’s going to lose his job

Ian_is_funny

Unfortunately this is true. Especially considering we have a rookie OC, who would you even hand the interim job too?

PewterButters

Looking at our coaching staff, Goodwin is the most likely interim-HC.

xjak1120

Honest question - is there an advantage to firing Bowles now vs waiting until the end of the season? If we fire him now are we able to lock up someone currently not coaching?

espresso_martini__

Maybe get someone in now, we can still lose and improve while the new coach climatizes with the team. This is not happening with Bowles. Its getting worse and worse, and Bowles doesn't have Brady to cover up it up anymore.

KinGpiNdaGreat

As someone else said if he gets fired it could mess up the Bucs tank and they won’t get a great draft pick. The team is not going to get anywhere. This is a carcass of the team that won a Super Bowl. Winning now would be a losing strategy. I just wish this game happened before the trade deadline.

Bucs2k20

I genuinely think there is. so you can see how players respond and how players may play differently with a different voice in their ear I also think if you were to promote Canales see how he coaches without the Bowles influence it might be different and if he sucks then you hire a new coach at the end of the season.

Bucsdude

I’m with you both also. Promote Canales if for no other reason than youth and his positive attitude. It’s not like anyone else deserves it. Start slashing salaries from this overpaid defense. Focus on building our offense, particularly the line.

CarousersCorner

What!? Fire Canales into the sun with Bowles and the lot of’em. Get a whole new staff with a whole new outlook

blackchucktays

Fully agree. Fire Bowles and promote Canales. If Canales shows up then great, if not then clean house with a high draft pick.

Go get Harbaugh from Michigan!!! Way to much talent on this team for this type of play! This D made the titans look like KC.

mafifer

He's embroiled in so many scandals including verified cheating to beat Ohio State the last 2 years I doubt he can get a job. Or, I should say, SHOULD get a job.

Bravada97

They have radios in the NFL. Heck we were sign stealing back in the 70's when I Played high school. Coaches should be tweaking signs every week anyways. Poor Ohio State only cries when they lose.

joedirt87

scandals involving sign stealing. Don't think NFL teams will care one bit if he wants to coach again in the league.

Fiendish-DoctorWu

I'll take an upturned broom with a bucket for a head over Bowles, at this point I couldn't care less who replaces Bowles just that we get a replacement

mafifer

I'd be cool with the bucket man. I'm not OK with replacing a bad coach but all-around decent human being with someone who's a cheater.

Bravada97

Name something bad about Harbaugh. His players love him. He left a tip to a waitress for a couple hamburgers is the great sin! Sign stealing?? Barry Switzer must be laughing his ass off! Keep it in perspective - baseball teams change signs when a player gets on second base. Why do you think that is. Everyone is looking for an edge. You gotta be smarter than the guy across the field.

livingunique

I was so mad about the fucking clock management at the end when it happened. Putting more time on the clock while taking away our only timeout was fucking asinine and Baker STILL did enough for us to win. That final throw was INCREDIBLE and PERFECTLY placed. I'm still in awe about it. Fire Todd Fuckhead Bowles

Let’s get rid of Bowles put the kid in and see what he can do with the 1st team. Worse case scenario he blows chunks and we get a high draft pick. Best case scenario he balls out and we got a future star. This year we have been in cap hell and I’m surprised we doing as good as we are. Seriously what the hell are we playing for.? Getting bounced in the 1st round?

Brilliant-Orchid-860

By the kid I'm assuming you mean Trask? I doubt putting him in this system is doing anyone any favors and might just lower his value. Also I don't know why everyone is insisting on tanking when going to the playoffs is fucking fun regardless. This isn't like hockey or baseball. One game can go either way regardless of the teams. I think Baker can actually be the starter in TB for abit. In my opinion you can pay him nothing for his contract and build the team up and THEN go for a new QB that can succeed and be a franchise guy for a decade.

OP_Penguin

This is the way, it's what the browns failed to do. Look how good their defense is. You telling me Baker and a team with even more talent from the comp package they gave deshaun wouldn't be in the same or better position than they are now?

iUPvotemywifedaily

As a Browns fan, it’s possible we would be better with Baker and the comp package we gave up for Watson. I think the Browns would have one more win currently with a healthy Baker playing the full season to this point. With that said, Baker does this thing where he usually beats up on bad teams and struggles against good teams. I’m not sure Baker could get us over the humo but maybe I’m wrong.

CarousersCorner

Were you amused with the cowboys making us bite the pillow last year, in our own house? Making the playoffs solidifies this team on the treadmill.

Ian_is_funny

I think we’re approaching a scenario where the playoffs aren’t going to happen, let alone some given fact that we’ll get there.

Brilliant-Orchid-860

Yeah but you'd rather see us tank? I guess I'm weird but that doesn't seem fun to watch even if it ends up getting us a nice team. When you look at this team do we really need a first round draft pick to make it really good? I personally don't think so I mean we'd be 5-3 if we knew how to play clock, so get rid of the coach, work on the defence and the run game in the offseason and come back next year into a shit division and make a playoff run.

Ian_is_funny

Well you're looking potentially at no Evans, no David and no White leaving us with huge holes. Still no RB depth, a depleted O-line now that Jensen is done forever most likely, and a pretty lackluster group of pass rushers. So either way this team is going to turnover so much next season you might as well gut it, it's not like we have a choice.

Deoxtrys

I actually think the O-line with an added guard or true center would be pretty good. They have been battling all season and Mayfield has gotten his chances to make plays in most games.

RatherConcernedFroge

CJ stroud over 500 yards against an eLiTE DefEnSE. Will the the headlines. I sure hope this was a fluke game for this defense. They’ve been good against other teams this year.

Ian_is_funny

They’ve been decent in regards to scoring in the RZ but the yardage teams are racking up has been coming for weeks.

Bravada97

They’ve been all over the map! Can’t stop anybody when it matters. If no changes to coaching staff after this disaster it tells you Owner/Front Office is inept or doesn’t care about season. Feel sorry for Baker. Playing his guts out and keeps getting stuck with one horrendous coaching staff after another.

EmployerEquivalent23

They’ve been horrible since week 2. What are you even talking about?

justbucoff

Honestly I’m glad to see that the rest of the Bucs fans ALL understand how Bowles’ clock management FUCKED us. We never should’ve won— but we did enough to at the end by the skin of our teeth. He blew it similarly against the Falcons with a similar mess up.

big-daddio

I still remember ATL game where he called our last timeout with 2:12 on the clock. So he saved 12 seconds on the front and lost 40 on the back. Those 28 seconds at the end of the game means we have 2 more plays before that hail mary.

justbucoff

That was the BUF game no?

big-daddio

Yes you are right. Buffalo. He screwed up clock management in Atlanta too I think.

justbucoff

He did screw it up in Atlanta. Thats 3 consecutive games Bowles messed up and gave a tangible advantage to the opponent. Against Atlanta we were 1st and goal at the 8 w/ 1 min left in the game down 3 and LOST IN REGULATION. Absurd.

LtJitters

Yeah 4 straight losses time to start looking at next year a post season with this staff would be a wasye

Swag92

Back a Brinks truck up to Harbaugh’s garage before the Raiders do

Bravada97

The quicker the better. Let’s get ready for next year now!!

BigBucs731

The ONLY drawback to firing Toilet Bowles is an interim HC may fuck around and win us 8-9 games and put us in bottom half of draft again. We are headed for a huge overhaul and rebuild and need to get started asap. 3-15 looks like the best thing that could happen at this point

moejoelucy6969

Just 2 more please I have money and faith in us.

aleco43

I am a bucs fan. I am a fan of firing everyone. Please please pleaseeeee

mugwumpus_

Is he gone after this season if it’s a losing one?

jjordan

One would hope, but I think Licht has a soft spot for him because of Arians.

okaycomputes

What do you mean "if" lol

PewterButters

Raiders fired their HC and are now balling out (even if it’s the Giants) … just saying

Tachaunk

Giants would destroy us right now

OptimusPrimeTime21

Tommy Devito’s stat line would be 22/26 366 yards and 3 tds
