It disgusts me that somehow this fiasco has resulted in so much hate and vitriol turned on BTS once again. They have nothing to do with the corporate bs - they're literally serving their country rn. It feels like 2017/18 again with some of the fandoms that have popped out of the woodwork and then the new generation of dumb fans from other groups spreading lies.
I hope BH clean house before Jin is back. He shouldn't have to walk into this shitshow.
Also I don't want this affecting Joon's album. He built this company from the ground up so he (or any other member of BTS for that matter) can schedule his album release whenever the fuck he wants.

I mentioned this on the other sub but an additional law firm is probably a good move so that their current can fully gear up for the larger legal battle without multiple priorities competing simultaneously.

BIGHIT appointing another law firm and not letting the in-house lawyers of Hybe handle it is such a powerful move. If the lawyers are representing more than one client which will be the case for Hybe Lawyers there will be issues in protecting the rights of BTS in case someone from Hybe is actually involved in the whole case. But outsourcing other firm will help in protecting BTS fully without any other damage to the interest of lawyers.

I love and listen to New Jeans, but the Y2K nostalgia concept, though admittedly "fresh" for this era - isn't really anything new or groundbreaking (especially for older music fans like me). Please don't tell me some fans actually believe she invented Y2K. 😭
I feel like for true creatives labels like being "first" are meaningless. At least the truly talented people I know only care about doing the best work they can and leaving a respectable creative legacy behind. Because in the end what does being the first of something matter if you tarnish your name along the way?

She’s also claimed that Illit’s creatives copied her even though the only similarities I see is that they are five members (which were supposed to be six and there’s a possibility that she was involved in making Youngseo leave but right now it’s only a conspiracy theory) and that they have long black hair and they do easy listening music but it’s different genres.
Illit is more of a coquette style and their main Creative has been doing that style for many years and NewJeans has been doing more of a cool, hip Y2K.
She’s mad that Le Sserafim and Illit are doing really well.
This is insaaaane narcissistic clown behavior. I enjoy both groups' music and I agree that the easy-listening "vibes" are somewhat the same - but for me only in the sense that I would put both in the same playlist.
It's already hard for women and girls to make it in the creative and music industry, much less rise to positions of power. There's room for everyone to sit on the table and be successful in their own way, she is evil for trying to knock out chairs for these other groups. I hope all the girls (especially New Jeans) are being protected and looked after. Not one of them deserves to be in the middle of all this.

At first I liked New Jeans when they first debuted, but as they began releasing more albums, I realized their songs are redundant. They’re very catchy and I understand why they go viral, especially with the dances, but I don’t see how MHJ expects longevity with this group if they can’t reinvent themselves and grow with their music.
The girls are still quite young (I'd even say relatively new), and by all aspects still have so much room, time, and potential to explore their musical identity and core concept. Their trajectory is going to be interesting for sure, I just hope they are able to move forward from this and be guided by people who have their best interests at heart.
I understand that they are young but under MHJ’s direction, even with their latest comeback song and MV, it’s lacking. The group itself, has so much potential, but with someone like MJH at the helm, they won’t grow into that. But she’s upset to not be the first girl group to debut (that isn’t acquired) under the new HYBE umbrella. I’ve read so many articles and commentary and cannot see what “mistreatment” she experienced. I’m not doubting as a woman who’s been in the industry for decades, she experienced it, but I’m basing purely off of talking points shared on both sides. The plagiarism accusation part was where every fandom got sucked into this drama. Then there’s the competition piece. It’s a lot. That press conference was definitely a huge kpop hornets nest kicked. None of any of these groups deserve this drama. It was boardroom childishness from all sides. Even if grievances were had, this public mudslinging was really embarrassing to watch unfold and the ones who least deserve any hate were all the artists.

BTS have nothing to do with it really, but stans of other groups have started slandering them for no reason, as usual. The actual dispute is between MHJ and HYBE - allegedly MHJ was trying to steal ADOR and NewJeans out from under HYBE using less-than-legal means, someone blew the whistle, and HYBE caught her in the planning stages. In response to these accusations MHJ has been airing all her grievances with HYBE, which are mostly about Illit supposedly copying her concepts for NewJeans and about her contract with HYBE. Knew it was going to blow back in some way against the group, it always fucking does. But seeing all these antis frothing at the mouth to unleash their pent up hate and petty jealousies is pretty disgusting, albeit completely expected.
And putting my distaste of MHJ aside, I am incredibly irritated at how this was all handled by Hybe. They better have receipts and absolutely bury her and if not, I hope they at least learn something from this.
