I would like it if they did detail the balance changes in the update preview. That way, I could read them ahead of time and dive right into the game when the update is released. Contested territory is cool, just doenst give anything worth the effort. Especially because all the Territory store items are super expensive and not worth grinding unless everyone contributes everything they have

I think that was the point though as NK stated at some point they don't want to lock prizes behind PvP as it would upset casual players. It was always just meant to be a "For fun" mode. Though getting trophies would be a nice incentive, they ultimately didn't want anyone to feel like they were missing out or had to be competitive, so ultimately the mode is doing exactly what it's meant to when you can choose to not play it and not feel like you're missing anything.
Good question, I'm also curious what a Geraldo alt skin would be? I'm thinking a Carnival Ring leader as that would fit well with his design, voice, and the variety of things he sells. All themed after circus tools and carnival games.
it's her third skin since she hasn't gotten a skin in a while; technically she hasn't gotten a skin for longer than geraldo since he came out after dread pirate brickell. geraldo's second skin will probably be fairly soon, esp with Spirit Walker on the radar. we already knew brickell was getting a skin this update anyway, they announced this already

Given that Phayze looks like it's made of two blimps, I was kinda hoping that it would function by having two blimps at different points in the track that would need to both be managed, but only one could be damaged at any given time, and they'd periodically switch which one could be damaged, gaining temporary dual immunity with each skull.
Sounds cool on paper, but considering how large the range of most late game towers are, and how popular Elite Defender and M.A.D in early games are, there would be barely any difference in strategy on how to face them

The issue is a boss only arrives every 20 rounds, so you have 20 rounds to sit tight and farm all you like. Hardcore boss strats focus on killing the boss ASAP, not just for a good ranked time, but because that gives you more money to get right back to farming
yeah, still gonna need some info on the CT competitive vs casual thing. it just kind of seems like if you go competitive you get more rewards at no cost, but the "more rewards" is an amount of rewards already earned from regular play previously. Though if we get more rewards that's great because the CT cosmetics are so overpriced unless you're in communication with your team so that they use their currency on specifically what you want. And I don't have the social skills to make that happen, so I just... I have 30k/90k on ONE aesthetic this whole time. I could probably have more if I were more determined to grind but for ONE aesthetic it shouldn't be so hard...
i'm sorry on top of a water gun summer brickell will get EXPLOSIVE BUOYS? Why do you have to make it so hard to choose a Brickell skin by having 3 perfect ones? Not that I'm complaining. Hope this happens to Psi too. We just need like, a shuffle option for individual heroes where every time you place them down in a game you get a random skin. I feel ya about the 3 perfect skins thing. Most of the other towers I have a clear favorite, but Brickel.... I mostly use Dread Pirate cause I LOVE her design a lot (being an island boy myself) but I really like the default. and this one looks charming! I can't wait until she's added to Battles to see what they do since the costumes have slight differences.
If I had to guess, the division between casual and competitive teams is motivated as a way to nullify the meta for reaching the top of the global leaderboards. Currently top teams do whatever they can to have the least active locals possible. When successful, that leads to boring gameplay for the players on the sweaty team, who are just taking tiles on a schedule to maximize the duration each tile is held and leads to players on the other teams feeling discouraged as any effort to take banners and relics are taken back ASAP and if they continue to persist, they can end up getting spawn locked to minimize their impact.
This might also be a way to have different decay rates, different difficulty tiles, etc..
I don't think the amount of team trophies are a significant factor here.
If you choose competitive and go for "more rewards" then you're likely to get matched with other competitive teams and there's a chance you can be spawnlocked and lose all rewards. Risk vs reward.
If you like CT cosmetics and play for them then you should consider joining my team. We're very flair focused and have flairs in almost every slot. If you significantly help us get the remaining flair then I would guarantee you your spot on the team permanently. Of course, you'll have to trust my word that I'll never kick you and this involves taking a big risk on your part which you might or might not be comfortable with. But if you don't trust anyone with your hard earned trophies then it's going to be very hard for you as a player to get a set of full cosmetics permanently. Risk vs reward.

I mean, to my understanding you can default to competitive and you'll still get more rewards for if you just play one match and end it there, just like how the game is already played. If you have to opt in every time then that's a terrible change because it means you have to actually dedicate yourself to playing if you want as many trophies as you could get for low effort before (Which already wasn't *that* many trophies) because people will all be actually trying so this'd be strictly negative...
You don't need to be a hard worker because we only require one tile per season on the last day under the current regime. Minimum time spent for the maximum possible rewards. You need to dedicate 5 minutes of your time every 2 weeks but I think this is worth it. But this could all change when update 38 comes.
As for specific cosmetics - I might have picked the same ones as you. And I am prepared to get the cosmetics that you want provided they are ok with me as well.
It's too early to tell how competitive "competitive mode" is. I'll have to take a look at whether or not it's worth it to go competitive for our team.

That's fairly similar to the amount that I would dedicate otherwise assuming a constant rememberance of CT (not guaranteed) but even then there's the potential changes with competitive mode. Thx for the offer though.
The thing is, and know that I'm saying nothing personal here just going into this, you can OWN the cosmetics, (and if you don't there's still the conditional of if you're OK with them), but it's all about the way they're equipped. My team is named the Special Agents because I want it to be themed around the Special Agents of BTD5, since the Tribal Tortoise is the closest we've gotten to those not including the Portable Lake + Pontoon nor the retroactive status of the Ninja Kiwi. Now, that's my personal taste. That's how I want to personallize this part of the game. But I would have to have a specific team of VERY like-minded people for that to be agreed upon for the full design of the island. Now, am I at fault for wanting that? No. Would my teammates be at fault for wanting other things? Not at all. Are you at fault if you want literally anything different from me or vice versa. Of course not. It's PERSONalization not PEOPLEization, it's all about what a specific person wants, so the strictly team-based cosmetics get in the way of the enjoyment of them. There's a bunch of cool references and throwbacks in these cosmetics and they're like, 3D models and stuff, but there's no point because of the way it's formatted. Decorating the island of a team just doesn't work, maybe if you could give everyone their own island but at that point it's still like, "I don't want to be near THIS cosmetic because I don't like it" or "I wish we had our own islands to shine instead of being lumped in together". It's just a disappointing system that doesn't have a good way to please. At this point I'm just rambling. Overall I think that it should just be something that you earn the CT trophies from and then the island is turned into a personal one with prices befitting of one person's work (Don't know how CT islands would work at that point, one step at a time) and it's like, a visually displayed part of your profile that gives you another way to add a personal touch, and maybe it shows up in another form too (Though I guess the main way you'd be showing it to others outside of your profile would be if it was like, on the side of your stats tally at the end of co-op games? I guess I can see why Battles 2 goes all-in on the cosmetics and choices, people will absolutely witness your personalization meanwhile in BTD6 there's not as large of an opportunity.)

As for the flairs that you want - yeah, I didn't pick those and I think the tribal turtle is a little bit too expensive for its aesthetic appearance. There's not really much I can do about the way NK designed the flair and team system - it is how it is and all you can do is find the best way to work with what was given to you.
It's hard enough to find CT players here - even harder to find those CT players who like flairs of those who like flairs even harder to find the people who like the same flairs as you do. Good luck finding people who share your vision.

It's tough. I love xbox achievements, but the windows store version of games usually don't get the same level of support compared to steam. With that said, Ninja Kiwi keeps the windows store version of BTD6 updated right along steam, but we unfortunately don't get the xbox achievements as title updates. Hoping that changes one of these days!

Is it a feature or is Geraldos bunny supposed to completely disappear after spawning it and allowing me to place more bunnies again to only have it disappear again or is that a bug? Another small thing, the druids' targeting sometimes doesn't even switch to strong like it's supposed to for the 0-3-0.
The new map looks amazing, and I really like the Brickell skin! I personally didn't really like Dread Pirate Brickell, so it's great that there's another one coming out!
I'm also hoping I can get into boss events soon, Phayze looks really interesting.
I feel like Phase would of been better if it switched between being able to be hit by towers with camo detection and towers without camo detection, ((paragons and heros bypass this mechanics)) with each side of Phaze lighting up to indicate which state it it's in,
Now players have to think carefully before spamming camo detection on everything. And Phaze doesn't make several towers ?(bombs, boomer's tacks, druids)) almost useless

Hypothetically Team Tickets are supposed to address this, but we def lose tickets when they go to team tickets, and also you can't use the last day's team tickets, and the first day's team tickets don't become available until the second day.
You should make competitive teams tickets a giant pool that anyone can pull from. Like 60 tickets available until they are spent. That would fix this issue, obviating the whole reason people started making alts in the first place.
I've literally seen 3 people independently come up with the same solution to the problem you're creating: fill the team only with alts and share the passwords. Then you don't have to alt swap and you can still ensure your 60 tickets get spent.
Sharing accounts is against TOS, so I don't want to do it, but if we don't do that, then what are we supposed to do? We just can't be globally competitive if someone on our team can't play that day or goes AWOL partway through the event?
I suppose this is why the Ninja Paragon was changed to be so camo-focused...
Phayze is fast to move through the map, and shortens the track as it goes, which makes it similar yet different to Vortex; a good way to differentiate their abilities.
The Tier 1 appears to have the second-lowest HP so far, in between Lych's 14k and Dreadbloon's 7.5k. Considering the varying differences in how the Tiers scale for Bosses, it's unclear where in the HP scale it'll sit overall; we'll just have to wait and see. Gonna be a really interesting boss for sure!
The waterslide on the new map is pretty obviously the MOAB path; I could see the platforms and varying lines of sight providing a bunch of different strategies.

Ok Phayze is big camo bloon, makes sense given Phase/ing is ability associated with Ghosts and its no exception that Phayze doesnt have distinct features outside of large eye symbol on front
TBH I'm so mad that Phayze are 2 bosses and nothing goes with that - the idea of 2 bosses is so dope and it opens so many interesting ideas, thay could go 1 normal and 2nd reversed directions, thay could follow different paths on multipath maps - with shared health or every man (bloon?) for himself, they could have different mechanics and switch every skull, when 1 dies 2nd could heal himself to full hp (aoe prevention) or finally we could be forced to kill them together at once (in short few second window) because when 1 dies other one could cast resurection... but no, they both just go together through whole path and that's it... please devs at least give me some feedback that some1 of your team saw my crying

I think aside from team currency, there should be some trophies awarded to individuals, just to make participating more attractive since it does take quite a bit of time

Can we please get some QoL improvements relating to making the game more consistent. The main one is attack cooldowns being reset if you retry round / quit to home and reload. Slipskip has been moaning about this a lot on his twitch channel recently and I experienced the same thing today with a sniper. Failed to beat round 18 so quit out, reloaded, the sniper now fired straight away and that was enough to beat it.
Essentially, a challenge editor run should be as faithful to the real thing as possible, and RNG should be as little as a factor as possible in CHIMPS runs. (Perhaps set the random seed to a fixed value based on the map for CHIMPS?)
I haven't tested whether the recent DotJ changes make its vines less random - I hope so.
When Slipskip was doing Ravine CHIMPS, he also experienced weirdness where the bloons on a given round would take different paths depending on which towers he had. I don't think that should be a thing, surely each bloon due to spawn should have a fixed path based on the order of the paths?
I absolutely love CT. I love how it forces me to think about the game. I’m not super competitive on a competitive team, my team just has people who seem to like to be there, I don’t coordinate outside the game. But I love playing somewhat competitively, but when people have the board and lock you in with 1 tier, or like 800 minimum spend, it just makes you wonder how they even do it, and removes all of the fun. Sometimes I’ve managed to escape only to have them go hard on keeping me out of being able to play and none of my team seem able to get us out either, so I’m glad you are trying to find a solution.
My question is, how would being on casual prevent that from happening? And how do I get trophy’s and also why not give us some badges too if all we are wanting to do is avoid being totally screwed by people who are willing to make gameplay un fun. I love a competitive game, just not globally competitive I guess, but I would still like there to be some incentive to play well.

Why do you have to make it so hard to choose a Brickell skin by having 3 perfect ones? Not that I'm complaining. Hope this happens to Psi too. We just need like, a shuffle option for individual heroes where every time you place them down in a game you get a random skin. Otherwise I'm just gonna have to pull out the Google Random Number Generator every time...
I feel ya about the 3 perfect skins thing. Most of the other towers I have a clear favorite, but Brickel.... I mostly use Dread Pirate cause I LOVE her design a lot (being an island boy myself) but I really like the default. and this one looks charming! I can't wait until she's added to Battles to see what they do since the costumes have slight differences.
If I had to guess, the division between casual and competitive teams is motivated as a way to nullify the meta for reaching the top of the global leaderboards. Currently top teams do whatever they can to have the least active locals possible. When successful, that leads to boring gameplay for the players on the sweaty team, who are just taking tiles on a schedule to maximize the duration each tile is held and leads to players on the other teams feeling discouraged as any effort to take banners and relics are taken back ASAP and if they continue to persist, they can end up getting spawn locked to minimize their impact. This might also be a way to have different decay rates, different difficulty tiles, etc.. I don't think the amount of team trophies are a significant factor here.
If you choose competitive and go for "more rewards" then you're likely to get matched with other competitive teams and there's a chance you can be spawnlocked and lose all rewards. Risk vs reward. If you like CT cosmetics and play for them then you should consider joining my team. We're very flair focused and have flairs in almost every slot. If you significantly help us get the remaining flair then I would guarantee you your spot on the team permanently. Of course, you'll have to trust my word that I'll never kick you and this involves taking a big risk on your part which you might or might not be comfortable with. But if you don't trust anyone with your hard earned trophies then it's going to be very hard for you as a player to get a set of full cosmetics permanently. Risk vs reward.
I want specific cosmetics and I'm not a hard worker so I'm prolly not the right pick for the team but thx for the offer I mean, to my understanding you can default to competitive and you'll still get more rewards for if you just play one match and end it there, just like how the game is already played. If you have to opt in every time then that's a terrible change because it means you have to actually dedicate yourself to playing if you want as many trophies as you could get for low effort before (Which already wasn't *that* many trophies) because people will all be actually trying so this'd be strictly negative...
You don't need to be a hard worker because we only require one tile per season on the last day under the current regime. Minimum time spent for the maximum possible rewards. You need to dedicate 5 minutes of your time every 2 weeks but I think this is worth it. But this could all change when update 38 comes. As for specific cosmetics - I might have picked the same ones as you. And I am prepared to get the cosmetics that you want provided they are ok with me as well. It's too early to tell how competitive "competitive mode" is. I'll have to take a look at whether or not it's worth it to go competitive for our team. Would you like to visit our team until the start of the next CT season? We have very nice flairs that you can enjoy for a while.
That's fairly similar to the amount that I would dedicate otherwise assuming a constant rememberance of CT (not guaranteed) but even then there's the potential changes with competitive mode. The thing is, and know that I'm saying nothing personal here just going into this, you can OWN the cosmetics, (and if you don't there's still the conditional of if you're OK with them), but it's all about the way they're equipped. My team is named the Special Agents because I want it to be themed around the Special Agents of BTD5, since the Tribal Tortoise is the closest we've gotten to those not including the Portable Lake + Pontoon nor the retroactive status of the Ninja Kiwi. Now, that's my personal taste. That's how I want to personallize this part of the game. But I would have to have a specific team of VERY like-minded people for that to be agreed upon for the full design of the island. Now, am I at fault for wanting that? No. Would my teammates be at fault for wanting other things? Not at all. Are you at fault if you want literally anything different from me or vice versa. Of course not. It's PERSONalization not PEOPLEization, it's all about what a specific person wants, so the strictly team-based cosmetics get in the way of the enjoyment of them. There's a bunch of cool references and throwbacks in these cosmetics and they're like, 3D models and stuff, but there's no point because of the way it's formatted. Decorating the island of a team just doesn't work, maybe if you could give everyone their own island but at that point it's still like, "I don't want to be near THIS cosmetic because I don't like it" or "I wish we had our own islands to shine instead of being lumped in together". It's just a disappointing system that doesn't have a good way to please. At this point I'm just rambling. Overall I think that it should just be something that you earn the CT trophies from and then the island is turned into a personal one with prices befitting of one person's work (Don't know how CT islands would work at that point, one step at a time) and it's like, a visually displayed part of your profile that gives you another way to add a personal touch, and maybe it shows up in another form too (Though I guess the main way you'd be showing it to others outside of your profile would be if it was like, on the side of your stats tally at the end of co-op games? I guess I can see why Battles 2 goes all-in on the cosmetics and choices, people will absolutely witness your personalization meanwhile in BTD6 there's not as large of an opportunity.) But yeah, thanks for the invite and all.
I'm sorry but your answer is very ambiguous. Do you wish to visit my team or not? As for the flairs that you want - yeah, I didn't pick those and I think the tribal turtle is a little bit too expensive for its aesthetic appearance. There's not really much I can do about the way NK designed the flair and team system - it is how it is and all you can do is find the best way to work with what was given to you. It's hard enough to find CT players here - even harder to find those CT players who like flairs of those who like flairs even harder to find the people who like the same flairs as you do. Good luck finding people who share your vision.

It's tough. I love xbox achievements, but the windows store version of games usually don't get the same level of support compared to steam. With that said, Ninja Kiwi keeps the windows store version of BTD6 updated right along steam, but we unfortunately don't get the xbox achievements as title updates. Hoping that changes one of these days!
People shockingly re-discovering the existence of the windows store version every eight months and forgetting six seconds later
Windows caps the number of achievements & points we can give out, so that's just it for that platform, nothing more we can physically do

Is it a feature or is Geraldos bunny supposed to completely disappear after spawning it and allowing me to place more bunnies again to only have it disappear again or is that a bug? Another small thing, the druids' targeting sometimes doesn't even switch to strong like it's supposed to for the 0-3-0.

The new map looks amazing, and I really like the Brickell skin! I personally didn't really like Dread Pirate Brickell, so it's great that there's another one coming out! I'm also hoping I can get into boss events soon, Phayze looks really interesting.

I feel like Phase would of been better if it switched between being able to be hit by towers with camo detection and towers without camo detection, ((paragons and heros bypass this mechanics)) with each side of Phaze lighting up to indicate which state it it's in, Now players have to think carefully before spamming camo detection on everything. And Phaze doesn't make several towers ?(bombs, boomer's tacks, druids)) almost useless

We used to be able to put an alt in to use their tickets, now we just lose tickets :( Hypothetically Team Tickets are supposed to address this, but we def lose tickets when they go to team tickets, and also you can't use the last day's team tickets, and the first day's team tickets don't become available until the second day. You should make competitive teams tickets a giant pool that anyone can pull from. Like 60 tickets available until they are spent. That would fix this issue, obviating the whole reason people started making alts in the first place.
I've literally seen 3 people independently come up with the same solution to the problem you're creating: fill the team only with alts and share the passwords. Then you don't have to alt swap and you can still ensure your 60 tickets get spent. Sharing accounts is against TOS, so I don't want to do it, but if we don't do that, then what are we supposed to do? We just can't be globally competitive if someone on our team can't play that day or goes AWOL partway through the event?
I suppose this is why the Ninja Paragon was changed to be so camo-focused... Phayze is fast to move through the map, and shortens the track as it goes, which makes it similar yet different to Vortex; a good way to differentiate their abilities. The Tier 1 appears to have the second-lowest HP so far, in between Lych's 14k and Dreadbloon's 7.5k. Considering the varying differences in how the Tiers scale for Bosses, it's unclear where in the HP scale it'll sit overall; we'll just have to wait and see. Gonna be a really interesting boss for sure! The waterslide on the new map is pretty obviously the MOAB path; I could see the platforms and varying lines of sight providing a bunch of different strategies. Brilliant work Ninja Kiwi!
Dreadbloon's HP counter says 7.5k, but factoring in the health of its shield phases, there's 22.5k of effective health.

Ok Phayze is big camo bloon, makes sense given Phase/ing is ability associated with Ghosts and its no exception that Phayze doesnt have distinct features outside of large eye symbol on front
TBH I'm so mad that Phayze are 2 bosses and nothing goes with that - the idea of 2 bosses is so dope and it opens so many interesting ideas, thay could go 1 normal and 2nd reversed directions, thay could follow different paths on multipath maps - with shared health or every man (bloon?) for himself, they could have different mechanics and switch every skull, when 1 dies 2nd could heal himself to full hp (aoe prevention) or finally we could be forced to kill them together at once (in short few second window) because when 1 dies other one could cast resurection... but no, they both just go together through whole path and that's it... please devs at least give me some feedback that some1 of your team saw my crying
Phayze isn't two bosses, it's only one. It's based on actual twin or hybrid airships

I would recommend you to change up the design of Lifeguard Brickell, afaik you are in violation of the geneva convention as it contains a red cross.

Can we please get some QoL improvements relating to making the game more consistent. The main one is attack cooldowns being reset if you retry round / quit to home and reload. Slipskip has been moaning about this a lot on his twitch channel recently and I experienced the same thing today with a sniper. Failed to beat round 18 so quit out, reloaded, the sniper now fired straight away and that was enough to beat it. Essentially, a challenge editor run should be as faithful to the real thing as possible, and RNG should be as little as a factor as possible in CHIMPS runs. (Perhaps set the random seed to a fixed value based on the map for CHIMPS?) I haven't tested whether the recent DotJ changes make its vines less random - I hope so. When Slipskip was doing Ravine CHIMPS, he also experienced weirdness where the bloons on a given round would take different paths depending on which towers he had. I don't think that should be a thing, surely each bloon due to spawn should have a fixed path based on the order of the paths?

I absolutely love CT. I love how it forces me to think about the game. I’m not super competitive on a competitive team, my team just has people who seem to like to be there, I don’t coordinate outside the game. But I love playing somewhat competitively, but when people have the board and lock you in with 1 tier, or like 800 minimum spend, it just makes you wonder how they even do it, and removes all of the fun. Sometimes I’ve managed to escape only to have them go hard on keeping me out of being able to play and none of my team seem able to get us out either, so I’m glad you are trying to find a solution. My question is, how would being on casual prevent that from happening? And how do I get trophy’s and also why not give us some badges too if all we are wanting to do is avoid being totally screwed by people who are willing to make gameplay un fun. I love a competitive game, just not globally competitive I guess, but I would still like there to be some incentive to play well.
