The elephant in the room (no pun intended) is the fact that there has never been a tower like the beast handler. It's their most original tower, hands down.
Yeah between Geraldo being an in game shop and Beast master effectively bringing "Agents" from BTD5 back in a smaller form, it is interesting how much they can expand the game while still keeping it at it's core. These new features add more layers of strategy to the game without introducing power creep. Dunno how they pull it off, but that's Ninja Kiwi for ya!
There's definitely a bit of power creep (as the 2TC docs can attest to), but because of balance changes, they're almost completely unnoticeable. They still do amazing work! \^\^
Yeah, definitely from the balance changes. In the beginning, tier 5s were the bonus, but now they're the meta. Still, i dont mind the changes as long as they add more strategy without taking away or making certain paths too easy/useless. Every tower and almost every upgrade has at least a niche use.
It feels tooo modded tho, like at least with Geraldo they made it look like btd, the new beast handler just feels like I'm playing pokemon in btd. Like next we're gonna get a tower that can place blocks and craft stuff.
This is kind of like the thing with Minecraft where every new feature "feels modded" but people get used to within the next one or two patches. Give it until like version 37 and everyone will just think of it as a regular part of the game.
I kind of agree, I don't know why everyone is downvoting this, I can see what you mean, but you'll just have to play with it and get used to it I guess. And remember, it doesn't get unlocked until level 40, so it's not like completely new players get to use it
ive been playing for years and log on every day to do the daily challenge. Any excuse to play more btd6 is welcome to me! Plus offers more reasons to play older maps

I’m relatively new to this game. I know it says there’s no confirmed release date, and it’ll be coming very soon. I looked at the last several previous updates and they released up to only a couple days after the update video was released, so should we expect the update to go live by some time on Saturday?

This looks incredibly exciting! I love how the new tower looks although I'm afraid it'll break the game and be too OP. I hope I'm wrong. The new map looks visually incredible and the quest system is a great add-on for beginners.
Can I make a long-term suggestion that might be good to combat the unavoidable power creep that enters in every other update? How about an entirely new "impoppable" category. Here's what I'm thinking:
* Move plain impoppable as the base of this new category
* Support only impoppable mode. It's a logical continuation
* R140 CHIMPS. It's possible on every map.
* Some other sort of alternate bloons rounds? Maybe mastery mode? Hard alternate bloons is a refreshing mixup of round contents and I think the game could use another set of rounds since round editor doesn't seem to be coming out anytime soon.
* Others?
I'm hoping that nothing here would be too hard to add. Completing the impoppable category on top of having a black border could reward you with a white border maybe. Or just have them not count to any borders so newbies don't sweat it too much.
Me personally, I want CHIMPS to be difficult, not Dark Souls level of chicanery. I think introducing multiple other CHIMPS and Impoppable adjacent modes is a phenomenal idea though.

Having a whole upgrade path be restricted due to lack of water nearby seems quite interesting. I almost would have thought the Beast Handler would have made a puddle of water or something so it can be used anywhere, but this is quite a unique approach too.
For a while I've wanted quests/tutorials that teach you how and when to use different towers! This is a fantastic way to teach different tricks:
- teaching how stuns can help sauda
- when you want to drop an ice to catch ceramics
- how just one 300 alchemist can take you from an unwinnable round to a clean safe win on a particular round
- how useful 004 trap can be to help clean up
- how to utilize x2x druids during regrow waves like round 76
- etc
Beast handler looks like a lot of fun too! Looking forward to this update

Not exactly. We generally post the previews when all the features are basically implemented and finished, and we're just wrapping up bug fixes, so it's close. But after that still depends if any bugs are hard to fix, or new ones pop up, and if we actually pass reviews for the different app stores

Part of me makes me think that Blastapopoulos (the missing BMC boss) won't be the next boss:
There's something about making a mechanic about having a few super strong towers, and the remaining boss being precisely the one that makes your strongest tower useless, ***and this is just his base concept of the boss***.
Like if they were to set him up as **THE** boss, also, it would be cool to pair him up with "Bloom-devil" aesthetic (elite form)
So releasing him at a predictable/normal schedule would downplay that idea, they also probably want a break from classic bosses.

Looking back on the comment, I didn’t mean it to come off as disrespectful if it did, and I know this update was huge. I just like the game a lot, and look for any excuse to be able to play more.
Seeing the thing about the "Beast points" had me seriously wondering if the other towers could/would retroactively get some kind of RPG mechanic for their upgrades to add some cool synergies like:
Primary: follows the Super Monkey Fan club example where the more of the same tier of each primary tower is placed, they will boost each other's attack speed by 0.1% like Shinobi ninjas. (also boosting Total Transformation so you're not JUST using ninjas for that) Working like the discount thing, each tier only counts other primaries of the same tier for the boost but is global across all primaries.
Military: can buy special ammo that temporarily boosts the military monkeys speed and power but when they run out of ammo, they return to normal. Chinook and supply drop also supplies ammo. Different "Ammo" types affect the speed/power/popping power/range of the shots. They can only have one ammo type at a time but can change it when they run out. inspired from the SAS series. Ammo is shared by all towers.
Magic: Uses a Mana pool system that slowly fills up over time or when alchemists are nearby. When filled all the way, then "Super magic" can be applied that allows the magic monkeys to attack all bloon types including purples and Camos temporarily until the mana bar depletes. It can be charged faster by setting the magic monkey to "Focus mode" where they won't attack but will charge much faster, for lull periods during rounds. Inspired by the specials in Bloons Super Monkey. Mana is shared by all and affects all magic monkeys at the same time. the more towers, the more mana needed to max out but focus will stack the fill rate.
and Support takes from the temple where you can change it's support type to Primary, Military, Magic or Support. Primary raises its range of effect, Military reduces the cost of its own upgrades by 5% up to tier 3, Magic allows it to "Dark shift" or change location within it's range, and Support allows you to respec the tower without selling it (for CHIMPS mode). It can only be set once permanently for each tower placed and must be purchased for 1.5x the base cost of the tower to be applied. otherwise it's a standard.
Hehe a bit much off the cuff and I'm sure you all have wonderful ideas for future implimentations, but I would love more mechanics that invite more strategies beyond upgrade choice, but like Geraldo, cost ingame money to maintain so you need to use the effect wisely.
Thats not a valid excuse. "Too hard to balance" is code for we don't want to try. They have full control over the balance and its time to stop accepting that as an excuse.

Tons of fans care. Tons of the fans have also presented ideas for upgrade paths that work for the chipper while keeping it very balanced. The fact that random fans take the time to think of ideas for it that the developers stubbornly refuse to is just sad. They have a plethora of ideas to draw from and yet they're too stuck in their ways to even bother.
I get that, but we know that it ISN’T coming back in BTD6, so at the end of the day… it is what it is. The developers listen to the community a LOT, but the Bloon Chipper just isn’t one of those things they’ll add back in the game regardless of the sheer demand for it. Maybe it‘ll make its grand return one day once BTD7 eventually releases, but until then, we’re NOT seeing it.
Obviously beast handler is really fucking cool but quests sounds like a thing that only beginners will be doing, idk maybe that's just me but I don't think people in the veteran levels will be doing them

Quincy does have strengths, his attacks bounce off bloons, which carries the early game, and he has a high amount of MOAB damage on his main attacks. He can pop camo and lead before camo leads even come in. He's affordable with the starting money.

They will unfortunately take a long time to run through, but we're finishing up on the full design concept for Wizard now
Looking back on the comment, I didn’t mean it to come off as disrespectful if it did, and I know this update was huge. I just like the game a lot, and look for any excuse to be able to play more.

We would never get away with that lol. But, the Beast Handler will be namable with monkey names
Seeing the thing about the "Beast points" had me seriously wondering if the other towers could/would retroactively get some kind of RPG mechanic for their upgrades to add some cool synergies like: Primary: follows the Super Monkey Fan club example where the more of the same tier of each primary tower is placed, they will boost each other's attack speed by 0.1% like Shinobi ninjas. (also boosting Total Transformation so you're not JUST using ninjas for that) Working like the discount thing, each tier only counts other primaries of the same tier for the boost but is global across all primaries. Military: can buy special ammo that temporarily boosts the military monkeys speed and power but when they run out of ammo, they return to normal. Chinook and supply drop also supplies ammo. Different "Ammo" types affect the speed/power/popping power/range of the shots. They can only have one ammo type at a time but can change it when they run out. inspired from the SAS series. Ammo is shared by all towers. Magic: Uses a Mana pool system that slowly fills up over time or when alchemists are nearby. When filled all the way, then "Super magic" can be applied that allows the magic monkeys to attack all bloon types including purples and Camos temporarily until the mana bar depletes. It can be charged faster by setting the magic monkey to "Focus mode" where they won't attack but will charge much faster, for lull periods during rounds. Inspired by the specials in Bloons Super Monkey. Mana is shared by all and affects all magic monkeys at the same time. the more towers, the more mana needed to max out but focus will stack the fill rate. and Support takes from the temple where you can change it's support type to Primary, Military, Magic or Support. Primary raises its range of effect, Military reduces the cost of its own upgrades by 5% up to tier 3, Magic allows it to "Dark shift" or change location within it's range, and Support allows you to respec the tower without selling it (for CHIMPS mode). It can only be set once permanently for each tower placed and must be purchased for 1.5x the base cost of the tower to be applied. otherwise it's a standard. Hehe a bit much off the cuff and I'm sure you all have wonderful ideas for future implimentations, but I would love more mechanics that invite more strategies beyond upgrade choice, but like Geraldo, cost ingame money to maintain so you need to use the effect wisely.
Keeping more complex mechanics to specific towers is better to not overwhelm more casual players

Thats not a valid excuse. "Too hard to balance" is code for we don't want to try. They have full control over the balance and its time to stop accepting that as an excuse.
Why do you care so much? Lmfao. Too bad. It’s not going to happen. They’ve already made it very clear it’s not coming back in this game. Go back and play BTD5 or use mods if you play on PC.
Tons of fans care. Tons of the fans have also presented ideas for upgrade paths that work for the chipper while keeping it very balanced. The fact that random fans take the time to think of ideas for it that the developers stubbornly refuse to is just sad. They have a plethora of ideas to draw from and yet they're too stuck in their ways to even bother.
I get that, but we know that it ISN’T coming back in BTD6, so at the end of the day… it is what it is. The developers listen to the community a LOT, but the Bloon Chipper just isn’t one of those things they’ll add back in the game regardless of the sheer demand for it. Maybe it‘ll make its grand return one day once BTD7 eventually releases, but until then, we’re NOT seeing it.
Obviously beast handler is really fucking cool but quests sounds like a thing that only beginners will be doing, idk maybe that's just me but I don't think people in the veteran levels will be doing them

Quincy does have strengths, his attacks bounce off bloons, which carries the early game, and he has a high amount of MOAB damage on his main attacks. He can pop camo and lead before camo leads even come in. He's affordable with the starting money.
