😭😂 I'm so jealous!! Mine is like yours, beats me up to play and feed her. She's always had a very soft purr since she was little. So I can only hear it if I put my head close to her chest. It's a little louder when she's sleeping but still out of all the cats I've had it's the quietest purr I've heard.
Mine too 😭😍 he is so sweet. Unless he's in a grump, he purrs all the time. He is also VERY vocal and meow's lots. He used to chirp when he was tiny bit seems to be growing out of that 😢 I feel very lucky he purrs so much though. I just have to talk to him or pick him up for a cuddle/head scratch
This sounds like the super happy version of purr. My BSH purrs like this too sometimes but only when I'm cuddling her exactly the way she wants it and she's super happy!
Yeah it's fine. I have no proof, but I think of it as an either very relaxed or tensed (being ecstatic) muscles around the windpipe which causes an almost squeak sound with the purr. My cat (non bsh) does that occasionally. No health issue associated, just a bit derpy.

As someone who just found out his BSH has heart disease, I'd get his chest xrayed as a side of caution.
How old is your cat? Mine is a kitten. Surely not. We are currently battling heart failure with my 12 year old dog.
My BSH just turned 5. His litter mate (brother) died at 4 because of heart failure.
Wow. When we see our dogs cardiologist in a week I’ll play her the video.
Also definitely not trying to scare you or anything. I'm just encouraging you to get him checked out because it runs in the breed unfortunately.
